A country music song created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI)reached the
top of a US music chart for the first time.
The song Walk My Walk came from an "artist"named Breaking Rust-but Breaking
Rust is not a real person.Experts believe AI created the singer's voice and images.AI
detection tools(检测工具)also show that the song was probably made completely by a
computer program.
This event shows that AI is becoming a powerful new player in the music world.More
and more Al-made songs are appearing on streaming platforms(流媒体平台)like Deezer.
Earlier this year, only 1 in 10 songs played each day were made by AI.Now,that number
has jumped to 1 in 3.
However, not everyone is happy with this change.
A recent survey by Ipsos asked 9,000 people to listen to both AI-made and human-
made music. The results were surprising:97%of them could not tell the difference
between the two.The survey also asked about people's opinions on AI in music.More than
half thought AI would lead to lower-quality songs, and nearly two-thirds worried it would
hurt human creativity.
Deezer's CEO said the survey shows people care deeply about music and want to
know who-or what-is making it."As AI continues to grow,musicians,listeners,and
companies will need to work together to protect creativity while welcoming new
technology,he added.

China has started building the world's biggest hydropower plant (on the
Yarlung Zangbo River in Xizang. This amazing project will include five large power
stations and can offer enough electricity for over 300 million.people.
The Yarlung Zangbo River is a great choice for this project because it's the highest
river in the world. Also,in the project area, the river drops nearly 2,000 metres down l
mountains.Such a big drop creates perfect conditions for making electricity. The power
produced will not only be used in Xizang but also sent to other parts of China, helping
power homes,schools,and factories there.
However, building this huge project comes with many challenges. For example,
workers will need over 40 million tons of cement()-that's enough to build many
large cities! What's more, the ground in the area is soft and wet,so engineers must make
it stronger to support the heavy structures.Besides, since the project is located far from
cities, new roads and railways are being built to carry all the necessary materials and tools.
Hydropower plays a key role in China's clean energy future. However, some people in
neighbouring countries have expressed their concerns about the water supply.Experts
explain that hydropower stations don't actually use up water.Instead, the water simply
passes through the stations to make electricity and then continues flowing down the river.
So the real water flow mainly depends on rainfall and other rivers.
All in all, this great project will not only offer clean energy but also create lots of jobs
for local people and improve business in southwest China. It marks a big step forward in
using resources()wisely while protecting our environment.
32.Why was the Yarlung Zangbo River chosen for this hydropower project?
A.Because there is a 2,000-metre height drop.
B.Because it is the longest river in the world
C.Because there are five large power stations.
英语模拟试题第5页(共8页)
