In the past, we had used “global warming” to talk about climate (气候) change for a long time. However, a newspaper called the Guardian started using “global (全球的) heating” in 2018. Why? Because scientists found that Earth’s temperature could rise much higher than before.
These two phrases sound similar, but they send very different messages. “Global warming” might make people feel the problem is slow, gradual, and still manageable, giving us a false sense of comfort. “Global heating”, however, sounds much more serious. If we enter the “global heating” state, plenty of plants and animals may die out, and extreme weather like heatwaves and storms will happen more often. Many scientists say we are already in a real “climate emergency (紧急状况)”.
Years ago, people believed climate change would only influence future generations. But climate scientist Katharine Mach says it is already our problem. We are all living through it right now, from record-breaking summer temperatures to unpredictable seasonal rains.
Knowing the facts is not enough. Action speaks louder than words. The change of the words is a wake-up call. The real solution depends on every one of us. We can reduce plastic waste, choose cleaner transport, and protect nature. If we act now, we still have a chance to cool the planet and save our shared home.
24. How does the writer introduce the topic?
A. By telling a story.
B. By giving examples.
C. By making comparisons.
25. Which of the following is TRUE according to paragraph 2?
A. The weather will be cooler in the future.
B. “Global heating” sounds much more terrible.
C. “Global warming” and “global heating” mean the same thing.
26. What does Katharine Mach think of the climate problem?
A. It will only happen in the future.
B. It’s not as serious as people thought.
C. It’s a problem that we are facing now.
27. What can we know from the passage?
A. Knowing about climate change is useless without taking action.
B. People should pay more attention to how climate change is described.
C. Using the right words is the most important way to solve climate change.
C
Do you love your smartphone very much? Do you check it at midnight? Do you use it while walking on the street? If you do, you may be called a “smombie”. This word comes from “smartphone” and “zombie” (僵尸). It means a person who walks slowly while looking at the phone, ignoring (忽视) everything around them.
There are other similar words. “Phubbing” comes from “phone” and “snubbing”. It means someone pays attention to his phone instead of talking to the people with him. In China, we call it the “bowed head tribe”. In Japan, people call phone users on the street “dumb-walkers”.
These words sound funny, but there is a serious side. In Germany, a woman was hit by a tram (电车) and died because she was looking at her phone while crossing the road. Also, more than 120 people died while taking dangerous self photos.
A study shows that we are more addicted to our phones than ever before. Phones are our cameras, our alarms, and our way to see friends’ lives on social media. However, many people feel like they will miss something important without a phone.
These new words remind us that smartphones are just tools. They are helpful when we use them wisely, but harmful when we lose control. So next time you cross the road or sit with your friends, put your phone down. Look up, see the world around you, and enjoy a real moment. That is the best way to truly “stay connected.”
28. What do “smombies” most probably do?
A. They check their phones only at midnight.
B. They walk slowly while checking their phones.
C. They like looking around when crossing the road.
29. Why does the writer mention the accident in Germany?
A. To tell us that trams run very fast in Germany.
B. To explain how to take photos safely on the street.
C. To show how dangerous using phones while walking can be.
30. What does the underlined word “addicted” mean in Paragraph 4?
A. afraid of trying anything new
B. unable to stop doing anything
C. not interested in anything at all
31. What is the best title for this passage?
A. Put Down Phones and Enjoy Real Life
B. Smartphones: Useful Tools in Daily Life
C. The Dangers of Using Phones While Walking

Love You, Laoji: Learn to Be Your Own Best Friend
The sentence “Love you, laoji” is popular on the Internet. It means “love yourself”. Young people love it because it sounds warm, just like talking to an old friend. This gentle tone (语气) encourages us to practice self-care. 32
Speak to yourself kindly
Treat yourself like your best friend. Choose kindness instead of criticism (批评). When you make mistakes, tell yourself “ 33 ”
Make your “charging (充电) list”
Your hearts and minds needs to charge, too. You can create your own “charging list” full of small and happy things. 34 Every day, pick one or two things from the list to do. And use them to reduce tiredness and fill yourself with positive (积极的) energy.
Learn to say “No”
Loving yourself means saying “no” to bad influences. Stay away from tiring relationships, unhealthy environments, and situations that make you doubt yourself. Your own feelings are the most important.
35
Self-love also requires self-reflection. Spend 20 minutes each week thinking about your needs. Ask yourself what you missed, what helped you grow, and how to care for yourself better. This helps you know yourself clearly and not follow others blindly.

第四部分 读写综合 (共两节,满分25分)
第一节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
A friend once invited me to join the new Tai Chi Club at school. At first, I said no because I thought tai chi was a sport for old people. After the first class, however, I found I was wrong. Tai chi was amazing!
Learning tai chi was fun and easy. There are moves like “white crane (鹤) spreading its wings” and “golden rooster (公鸡) standing on one leg”. I also learned about the history of tai chi. My teacher said tai chi was created by Chen Wangting in the 17th century.
After taking few classes, I felt bored and achy (疼痛的) from doing the same moves over and over again. To deal with my problem, my teacher taught me to take deep breaths and keep a peaceful mind. Slowly, I realized tai chi is not only a sport, but also a Chinese philosophy (哲学) -- yin and yang. They are opposites, but they need each other. Tai chi uses opposite moves, like up and down, left and right, to keep the balance (平衡) in the body. This brings both physical balance and mental peace.
Tai chi makes a big difference to my everyday life. I feel happier, more energetic and more confident. Tai chi helps me not only relax my mind but also stay cool in stressful situations. I am sure I will continue to practice this sport.
56. Why did the writer refuse to join the new Tau Chi Club at first?
57. When did tai chi first appear?
58. Do yin and yang depend on each other?
59. What sports do you like? Why?
