I have learned English since I was 10 years old. Everything I was taught at school was about tenses (时态) and other complex grammar. Every day, my teacher asked us to copy new words 10 times. Slowly, I got fed up with reciting (背诵) vocabulary and grammar rules. And learning English became something I disliked.
When I was in 10th grade, my parents bought me a computer. From then on, it became my best helper. I began to learn English through interesting learning materials on the Internet, and it was also when I fell in love with the language. I began to listen to music and watch TV shows. Besides, I found many websites. People from all over the world exchanged cultures with each other on those websites. I made a lot of foreign friends there, and we talked about everything in life.
At first, I thought that people wanted to communicate with each other, so they learned English. When I fully learned the language, I found something important: Through language, I can deeply connect with all the knowledge in the world.
Thanks to English, I have learned much more about the world around me. The journey towards language fluency (流利) is not always easy, and I still have a long way to go. I won’t, however, give up on it.

It is normal to feel a bit worried about exams, especially if you’re under pressure from school or family. Exam stress can cause you to feel nervous or depressed (沮丧的), and this might influence your sleeping or eating habits.
If you have any of these feelings or are worried that exam pressure is taking over your life, you are not alone. Here are some things you can do.
Firstly, let your trusted friends and family know if you’re having a hard time, so they can be there to support you, encourage you and offer a listening ear. You don’t have to go through (经历) this alone. Keeping it all in will only make things worse, so don’t be afraid to open up.
Secondly, think about all the practical support you need, and be honest with yourself about it. You are allowed to ask for help. Tell your teachers about your worries. They may have talked to lots of students who are going through similar things, so they can give you some helpful advice.
Thirdly, be kind to yourself. Think about all the things you have achieved so far. It can be helpful to write a list of all the things you like about yourself, and the things other people value about you, too.
What’s more, deal with pressure from your parents properly. If your parents put pressure on you, you can tell them what you feel able to achieve, and let them know that your expectations are different from theirs. You can also talk to a teacher you trust about the pressure you are under at home.

Dear Tony,
I know how you feel! I used to spend all my pocket money quickly too, and then worry about not having enough later. Don’t worry—I have some useful ideas for you.
First, make a plan at the start of each month. Write down what you need to buy, like school supplies or bus fares, and how much they cost. Second, think carefully before buying something new. Wait for a day or two—maybe you’ll realize you don’t really need it. Finally, keep a small notebook to write down every coin you spend. This way, you’ll always know where your money goes.
