Music has long been able to help people feel better. Now, with the help of Artificial Intelligence(AI), music therapy(疗法) becomes more effective and can be made for each person. This idea was shared in Shanghai at the recent World Artificial Intelligence Conference. There, a new AI music therapy pod(舱) was shown to the world for the first time.
The pod, which was made by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, provides people with a peaceful and private space. Users fill out a short health form first. Then they wear small bands(手环) to check their brain waves and heart rate. As they relax inside the pod, AI makes music and pictures based on their real-time body data(数据).
How does it work? Everyone’s brain waves are different. AI can turn these brain signals into sound with special methods. It also analyzes(分析) people’s body data and personal information to match music to their needs. This needs a lot of information processing, and AI is good at this. “The music therapy pod is where technology meets art,” says Li Xiaonuo from the conservatory. Scientists started studying this area in the late 20th century, and now AI makes music healing(治疗) faster and more effective.
AI is not only used in music therapy, but also in other mental health treatments. It can study social media posts and how people speak. In this way, it finds signs of anxiety or sadness. This helps doctors find people who need help early. Also, AI can guide patients to do mental exercises, which are based on effective therapy methods. Besides, virtual reality (VR) helps young people with autism(孤独症). For example, the Shanghai Mental Health Center has a VR training system. It has more than 80 different scenes designed to improve people’s social skills.
These tools show that AI and technology can work together. They support people’s mental health in many creative ways.
6. What is the first step for users to use the music therapy pod?
A. Listen to the music.
B. Relax inside the pod.
C. Fill out a short health form.
D. Wear small bands on their bodies.
7. What does the underlined part “this area” in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A. The way of making music.
B. The study of AI and music healing.
C. The information processing technology.
D. The World Artificial Intelligence Conference.
8. How does AI help to find people who may have mental health problems?
A. By talking with them face to face.
B. By giving them special exercises.
C. By making music for them to listen to.
D. By checking what they post and how they speak.
9. What can we learn from the text?
A. AI can only be used in music therapy.
B. Scientists started studying AI in this century.
C. The music therapy pod was first shown in Beijing.
D. Young people with autism can get help from VR.
10. What can be the best title for the text?
A. Music and Art: A Long History
B. VR Training: Fun for Young People
C. AI and Music: A New Way to Help
D. Social Media: Finding Signs of Sadness
