Traffic lights are red, yellow and green. They are very important signals (信号). Traffic lights are usually placed at busy street corners to help control traffic. Sometimes, they are on streets near schools and shops, too. Most young children are taught what each of the colored lights means, so everybody can stay safe.
The first traffic signals were used for trains. The signals were put alongside railway tracks (轨道). The color red was used to mean “stop” because it warned people of danger. A red light was also the easiest color to see from a distance. Train drivers could see the “stop” light ahead and had enough time to slow down and stop their trains. A green light was used to mean “take care” and a white light meant “go”.
However, there were many dangerous accidents on the train tracks. Some train drivers thought a star shining in the night sky was a white light that meant “go”. So the signals were swapped. The “go” light was changed to green and the “take care” light was changed to white.
During these times, people travelled by train or in carts pulled by horses. Years later, when cars were built, people began to drive them because they could travel much faster than horses. However, the road rules for drivers were not very clear and many people were hurt crossing the roads. Yellow warning signs had to be placed beside the roads to remind drivers to take care and allow people to cross safely.
Today, towns and cities all over the world have traffic lights. Red and green lights match the signals used on the railways. Yellow lights are easy to see, so they are used to warn drivers that they should slow down and prepare to stop.
14.Why was the color red used to mean “stop”?
A.It reminded people of traffic rules.
B.It helped trains run smoothly.
C.It gave people a warning of danger.
D.It was the first color people thought of.
15.What does the underlined word “swapped” in Paragraph 3 mean?

16.In which order did the “take care” light develop?
a. A white light b. A green light c. A yellow light
A.a-c-b B.b-c-a C.a-b-c D.b-a-c
17.What is the passage mainly about?
A.The advantages of traffic lights.
B.The history of traffic lights.
C.The importance of traffic lights.
D.The meanings of traffic lights.

C
When I was a child I was often told what not to eat. “You don’t want to get fat” was always repeated throughout my childhood. It really messed up my relationship with food—something that took me years to overcome. Because of this, I’m careful not to connect my kids’ weight with their value. I encourage my daughter to make healthy snack choices and often stop her from a second dessert. But one day when I heard her saying “I think I’m too fat,” my heart sank. It made me wonder if giving her advice on snacks was having a bad influence.
According to Charlotte Markey, a professor of psychology, food is one of the rare subjects where, as parents, saying less is more. “There are so many things in parenting that are good to talk through, but I don’t think that food is one of them,” she says. “It just makes kids worry and feel unsafe.”
Instead, she suggests a well-known idea among nutrition experts called the “Division of Responsibility,” where parents provide different kinds of mostly healthy foods to their kids at fixed times, and the kids themselves decide what and how much they want to eat—even if that means sometimes eating more cookies than carrots.
Allowing kids to eat what they want also shows them to the natural results of their decisions. “When your child says, ‘My stomach hurts,’ you can say, ‘Well you had a lot of sweet foods and you might feel better if you made some other choices,’” says Markey. “Let them feel like they have some control over it.”
I’ve been trying out these methods and I’ve found that when I’m less strict, they do make better decisions. “Feeding is a long game,” says Markey. “The food you have available makes a big difference. Even if they don’t eat it, they’re seeing it. And then all of a sudden it works.”
18.What can we learn about the writer from the first paragraph?
A.She enjoys cooking healthy food.
B.She is satisfied with her kids’ weight.
C.She is very careful about what she eats.
D.She doesn’t like the way she was fed as a child.
19.Which of the following would Markey disagree with?
A.Being less strict on the food kids eat.
B.Telling kids the risks of eating snacks.
C.Allowing kids to eat cookies sometimes.
D.Giving kids different foods at fixed times.
20.According to the “Division of Responsibility,” what should kids do?
A.Eat more cookies than carrots.
B.Help their parents to wash the dishes.
C.Eat up healthy foods their parents give them.
D.Decide by themselves what and how much to eat.
21.What does the writer think of the ways she has been trying?
A.They work well on her kids. B.They cost a lot.
C.They help kids lose weight. D.They are unhealthy.
【答案】18.D 19.B 20.D 21.A
19.文中第二段提到Markey的观点:“food is one of the rare subjects where, as parents, saying less is more”“It just makes kids worry and feel unsafe.”,说明她不赞成过多说教,因此会不同意“告诉孩子吃零食的风险”这种做法。
20.文中第三段解释了“Division of Responsibility”:“parents provide different kinds of mostly healthy foods... and the kids themselves decide what and how much they want to eat”,说明孩子的责任是自己决定吃什么、吃多少。
21.文中最后一段提到“I’ve been trying out these methods and I’ve found that when I’m less strict, they do make better decisions.”,说明作者认为这些方法对孩子很有效。

Recently, China has started a national “AI+Education” plan. It is made by five central authorities (当局,部门), including the Ministry of Education, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the National Data Administration (行政,管理). The plan tries to widely use AI in education and build a complete national AI education system by 2030. In Liaoning Province, the plan has been warmly welcomed, and cities like Shenyang and Dalian are taking the lead in carrying out pilot projects (试点项目).
The plan gives first importance to using AI in all kinds of schools. In primary and middle schools, special AI classes will be widely offered. For example, several schools in Shenyang have already started AI after-school clubs. AI learning will also be provided in after-school activities and practice to improve students’ digital skills and creative problem-solving abilities. In colleges and universities, AI will be a necessary basic course for all students. Liaoning’s key universities, such as Northeastern University and Dalian University of Technology, are actively developing AI courses. At the same time, schools will change their majors to meet the needs of new industries. Vocational (职业的) schools will mainly improve their old courses to train skillful workers for smart industries.
AI technology will be widely used to help teaching, school management and study. It can grade homework intelligently, give personal teaching, analyze classroom activities, and make school management more efficient (高效的). The ability to use AI will be included in teachers’ qualification and training, so that teachers can get used to the development of digital technology.
By 2025, China has more than 6,000 AI companies, and the value of AI industry is over 1.2 trillion yuan. Liaoning is also home to many AI companies, with Shenyang’s Hunnan District becoming an AI industry center. But there are still problems: not enough AI talents and different development in different areas. The gap between cities like Shenyang and some less developed areas in Liaoning still needs to be narrowed. This national plan hopes to train talented people with different skills, make education more balanced, and strengthen China’s digital economy and technology-led development.
22.What can we learn about AI’s application in teaching and management?

A.The lack of support from central authorities.
B.The low market value of the AI core industry.
C.Too many AI companies in the country.
D.The talent shortage and unbalanced regional development.

第一节 根据下列句子所给汉语注释或首字母,在答题卡标有题号的横线上,写出空缺处各单词的正确形式,每空限填一词。
In 2026, many middle schools in China will have started using artificial intelligence (AI) to help with daily teaching. One of the most popular uses is AI homework grading. The AI system can check multiple-choice questions and fill-in-the-blank questions in just a few seconds. 26
However, some students feel uneasy about this new technology. “I get nervous because AI records every mistake I make,” said Li Mei, a 14-year-old girl from Beijing. 27
28 They notice that some students simply accept AI feedback without thinking, and then copy the correct answers directly into their notebooks. This, teachers believe, prevents students from learning from their own mistakes.
Another problem is that some students might use AI to cheat. To deal with this, schools have added an AI ethics class. In this class, students learn what AI can and cannot do. 29 “I used to think it’s fine to let AI write my homework,” said Zhang Wei, a 13-year-old boy from Shanghai. “Now I know that learning is my own job.”
Experts believe that learning to use AI properly is a key skill for the future. 30 They say the goal is not to ban(禁止)AI but to teach students how to use it as a helpful tool.
A.This saves teachers a lot of time and energy.
B.They also learn why cheating with AI is wrong.
C.Schools should consider whether AI is necessary.
D.Teachers also worry that students will stop thinking for themselves.
E.Her classmate, Wang Tao, thinks AI makes homework more interesting.

Each different part of China has its own special forms of traditional art.
These usually try to show the things that are important in life, such as love, beauty and family. The most common things, from paper to clay to bamboo, are turned into objects of beauty.
According to Chinese history, sky lanterns were first used by Zhuge Kongming. He sent them out to ask for help when in trouble. Today, sky lanterns are used at festivals and other celebrations. They are made of bamboo and covered with paper. When the lanterns are lit, they slowly rise into the air like small hot-air balloons for all to see. Paper cutting has been around for over 1,500 years. Paper cutting sounds very easy but it can be difficult to do. The paper, usually red, is folded before it is cut with scissors. The most common pictures are flowers, animals, and things about Chinese history. During the Spring Festival, they are put on windows, doors and walls as symbols of wishes for good luck and a happy new year.
Chinese clay art is famous because the clay pieces are so small but they look very real. The pieces are usually cute children or lively characters from a Chinese fairy tale or historical story. The pieces are carefully shaped by band from a very special kind of clay and then allowed to air-dry. After drying, they are fired at a very high heat. They are then polished and painted. It takes several weeks to complete everything. These small pieces of clay art show the love that all Chinese people have for life and beauty.

A.It has completely replaced teachers in classroom teaching.
B.It focuses only on evaluating students’ academic performance.

C.To explain the rapid development of AI technology.
D.To introduce different functions of government departments.
25.What is the text mainly about?
