All the cars were lined up, and drivers were honking (按喇叭) at each other in anger. Wang Ping got out of his car and moved forward to see what was causing the traffic jam.
At a turn, he saw a young man trying hard to restart his car. It was clear that the car had broken down for some reason. Everyone there was just looking at the man without offering any help. On a sunny day, you may see clouds forming, changing shape, and moving across the sky. A cloud is a group of tiny water drops floating in the air.How Do Clouds Form?
Clouds form in four clear steps. First, water from oceans, lakes, rivers and plants rises into the air as water vapour (蒸汽). Then, the air containing water vapour is warmed by the sun. Next, the warm air rises into the sky where the air is colder. Finally, when the warm air reaches the cold air, some water vapour changes back into water drops or tiny bits of ice. A cloud is born.
You can see the same process of condensation at home, for example, when you breathe on a cold mirror or take a hot shower — though these are not real clouds.Types of Clouds
There are three main types of clouds. The clouds that look like sheets across the sky are called stratus clouds. The fluffy clouds that look like balls of cotton wool are called cumulus clouds. The thin, wispy clouds high in the sky are called cirrus clouds. Some clouds look white because the sun makes all the tiny water drops shine. Some look black because they are made of so many water drops that the sunlight cannot shine through them. Black clouds usually mean rain is coming.
From Clouds to Precipitation (降水): Rain, Snow, and Hail
When water drops inside a cloud bump into each other and stick together, they become bigger and heavier. Eventually, they fall down as rain. When the air is very cold, water vapour turns directly into tiny icy snowflakes. If the snowflakes don’t melt on the way down, snow falls instead of rain. This is why higher mountains often get snowfalls. Hailstones form when strong winds carry water drops high into the cold sky. The drops freeze into small ice balls. As more water freezes onto them, they grow larger. When they become too heavy, they fall to the ground as hail.
Now you know: the simple sky is never just a sky.
52.The passage is mainly about ________.

A.to describe the size of different clouds in the sky
B.to explain how clouds turn into rain, snow and hail
C.to introduce the beauty of clouds in different seasons
D.to show characteristics of different types of clouds clearly

C.The more water drops a cloud has, the darker it may be.
D.Cold weather makes it impossible for new clouds to form.

Recently, blind boxes have been popular. Among them, Labubu, a blind box character from China, is a big hit in the market. Its “ugly cute” style is different from the styles of common cute toys, which meets young people’s love for unusual things. It really resonates (产生共鸣) with young people today.
Labubu was created by the artist Kasing Lung. He was born in Hong Kong in 1972 but moved to the Netherlands with his family when he was seven years old. At first, young Lung couldn’t speak the local language. But he found a fun way to learn—by reading picture books! These books not only helped him learn the language but also made him interested in drawing. He finally became the first Chinese to win the European Picture Book competition.
In 2010, he began to design (设计) toys. Labubu was designed in 2015. Kasing Lung’s ideas are based on the fairy tales (童话故事) of the Netherlands. In 2019, Labubu broke sales records in the designer toy field. “Labubu has changed over time, and so have I,” said Lung. Both Kasing Lung and Labubu changed and grew over time.
This success story shows how China is evolving. For many years, China has been known as the world’s toy factory, making toys for global brands from other countries. The popularity of Labubu shows that Chinese design skills are getting better and stronger.
56.Why is Labubu a big hit according to paragraph 1?
A.Because it changes and grows quickly all the time.
B.Because it shows the European and Chinese culture.
C.Because it is very cheap and can be gotten everywhere.

Dear friends,
Recently, more and more young people in China choose to start their own businesses in their hometowns to help with rural revitalization (振兴) , instead of working in big cities. Are you among them? Please share your stories.
Li Na
I have had a deep love for traditional Chinese food since I was a child. After graduation, I went back to my hometown and became a local food vlogger. I think this job is very meaningful. I shoot short videos of making hometown snacks like sweet rice cakes and hand pulled noodles, and share them online. This helps promote local food culture, drive the sales of hometown ingredients, and boost the local economy. Many viewers said they learned to make the delicious food through my videos. I hope more people can know and love our traditional food culture, and help my hometown develop better.
Zhang Wei
I used to work in a big city as an office worker, sitting in front of the computer all day. I was tired of the busy city life, so I returned to my hometown. Now I am a rural tour guide, and I find this job really meaningful. I lead tourists from all over the country to visit my hometown’s beautiful mountains and rivers, and tell them interesting local stories. This brings more tourists to my hometown, helps local businesses grow, and promotes rural revitalization. The job is tiring but I never feel bored. I really enjoy sharing the beauty of my hometown with others and helping my hometown become more famous.
Chen Yu
I have loved making traditional handicrafts since I was a kid. After graduation, I came back to my hometown and became a bamboo craft maker. I think this job is meaningful and I feel proud of it. My job is to make bamboo baskets, bamboo fans and other handmade crafts with local bamboo. Many tourists buy my crafts as souvenirs (纪念品) . This not only keeps our traditional skills alive, but also helps local villagers increase their income and develop the local handicraft industry. Have you ever bought a blind box from Pop Mart just for the excitement of opening it? Have you visited concerts or cat cafes to enjoy the happy moments? Have you ever paid for game skins or reed diffusers (香薰) to cheer yourself up? All these are called emotional consumption
Nowadays, it is widely popular among the young generation. Heavy pressure from study and work makes them look for easy ways to relax. It greatly helps a large number of people make friends who share the same hobbies and get a sense of identity (认同). Besides, the ideas of “pleasing oneself” and making up for (弥补) their unmet childhood wishes also encourage the growth of emotional consumption to some degree.
In fact, emotional consumption plays a helpful role in people’s lives, offering real comfort and joy when people feel tired or lonely. A report shows that in 2025, people spent more than 2.7 trillion yuan on emotional consumption and this number is still growing rapidly. As a strong driver (驱动力) of cultural and creative industries, it’s still surprising that it has achieved such impressive (令人难忘的) results.
However, the hidden dangers behind it are worth noticing if people lose control. Impulsive (冲动的) buying may lead to a waste of money. Nearly one-fifth of young people pay over 2,000 yuan for it monthly. Besides, quite a few consumers would seek mental satisfaction through such spending rather than face real problems in study and life. What’s worse, some businessmen take advantage of young people’s emotions to set consumption traps (陷阱) for them.
To consume wisely, young people are expected to learn to tell the difference between their real needs and simple wants. They can make a spending plan and think twice before buying anything. And soon Mickey became very popular with both young and old people. Children loved to see their lovely friend because he brought joy and laughter to them. Mickey was a clean mouse. Perhaps this is why people love Mickey Mouse, though they don’t like real mice. In his early life, Mickey used to make mistakes. People were very angry. They wrote to Disney and said that they didn’t want Mickey to do silly things. As there were some silly things, Mickey could not do, Disney made a new animal, Donald duck and the dog called Pluto. This dog does silly things and makes mistakes wherever he goes. Now our Mickey is not only clean, but more importantly, he becomes a beautiful and clever star. He has his friends in almost every country.

D.Because its difference really wins young people’s hearts.
57.How did Kasing Lung’s early life influence his job later?
A.His family taught him how to make cute toys.
B.His friends encouraged him to practise drawing.
C.Learning a new language caused him to give up art.
D.Picture books helped him discover his artistic interest.
58.Which of the following can take the place of “evolving”in the text?
A.Stopping. B.Changing. C.Waiting. D.Winning.
59.What does the text mainly talk about?
A.How China’s toy design has changed over time.
B.The life story of Labubu’s designer Kasing Lung.
C.How fairy tales influence modern toy designs.
D.Labubu’s success and what it means for China.
第一段指出“Its ‘ugly cute’ style is different from the styles of common cute toys, which meets young people‘s love for unusual things. It really resonates with young people today.”
57.第二段提到“But he found a fun way to learn—by reading picture books! These books not only helped him learn the language but also made him interested in drawing.”
58.第四段提到“This success story shows how China is evolving.”

根据B的回答“It will include many activities, such as paper cutting shows, calligraphy competitions (书法比赛) and folk music performances.”,是介绍节日包含的各类活动,此处应是询问“有什么活动”的问句。选项A“What activities will there be?”
选项C“It sounds wonderful!”
B“I’d love to.”表示愿意接受建议,与后文“But I’m a little nervous...”
E“You should believe in yourself.”是典型的鼓励语,与后文强调“show your talent and learn from others”的语境一致。

I feel proud every time I help my hometown achieve better development through my meaningful work.

用关键词“Zhang Wei”和“office worker”定位到原文第二段,原文明确提到“I used to work in a big city as an office worker”,因此用肯定回答。
VII.
69.Our school has already held two English year-end parties.(改为否定句)
Our school ________ held two English year-end parties ________.
70.We had a yard sale to raise money for kids in need.
________ ________ you have a yard sale?
Why did
原句中“to raise money for kids in need”是举办庭院拍卖会的目的,对目的提问应用疑问词“why”;原句“We had a yard sale ...” 故填Why;did。
71.The museum owns the famous painting Prayer.(改为同义句)
The famous painting Prayer ________ ________ the museum.
【答案】 belongs to
故填belongs;to。
________ ________ summers in Chongqing are very hot, many people still travel here every year.
Even though/if
故填Even; though/if。
73.the USA, longer, a, has, much, than, history, China
______________________________________________________
China has a much longer history than the USA.
主语可确定为China“中国”或the USA“美国”,结合常识,中国历史比美国悠久,故主语为China;谓语是has;a much longer history“一段长得多的历史”是宾语,其中much修饰比较级longer;than the USA“比美国”是比较状语,说明比较的对象,故填China has a much longer history than the USA.“中国比美国有长得多的历史。”

It is a better choice for them to relax in healthier and cheaper ways, such as doing sports or talking with friends. In this way, they can take a proper attitude toward emotional consumption and make it a pleasant part of life.
Emotional consumption, such as 74 , going to concerts or cat cafes, buying game skins and using reed diffusers, is very popular among young people. It not only helps them relax under pressure, 75 . What’s more, it brings comfort and supports (cultural industries, with a huge market size). However, the problems also exist. People who consume without control may 76 and even be cheated by some businessmen. As a result, young people should realize what they really need and choose healthier ways to relax in order that 77 .

This morning, Wang Ping was in a hurry to the railway station because his friend was waiting for him there. Unluckily, he got stuck in a traffic jam.
Many of them were even blaming (责备) the man for the traffic jam. The number of cars stuck in traffic was growing, and the man looked very embarrassed (尴尬的).
Seeing this, Wang Ping quickly went to help the man. Four other drivers followed him. Together, they pushed the car, and soon it started again with a loud noise. The young man smiled. He thanked the people who helped him and said sorry to everyone before driving away.
In life, we all make mistakes. These mistakes are usually not on purpose but happen because of unexpected (出乎意料的) situations. When others make mistakes, we often blame them, but when we make mistakes, we want others to understand and help us. However, during difficult times, we should focus on solving the problem instead of blaming others. Also, forgiving (原谅) others is a smart choice because it can stop fights and spread kindness.

I feel proud every time I help my hometown achieve better development through my meaningful work.
