听短文,回答下列小题。
Different countries have different manners. Here in China, it is also a custom to have some tea or other drinks before the meal. But in some western countries, they usually have a small bread roll, always put the napkin on their lap first.
Chinese people prefer using chopsticks instead of forks and knives. What’s more, the dishes are placed on the table and everyone shares, while everyone in Western countries has their own plate of food. When the soup arrives at the end of the meal, a spoon is used. If the soup is very hot, foreigners like to cool it by blowing. In China, it is better to wait a little while.

How to be a popular teenager
Good morning, everyone! I’m Tom from Sunshine Middle School. Today I am very happy to be here to give you a speech about how to be a popular teenager.
First of all, to be a popular teenager, behaving politely is very important. For example, you should be polite enough to wait in line in public. Next, you must listen carefully in class. As for a popular teenager, it’s necessary for you to work hard and follow the school rules.Lastly, you can enjoy yourselves by reading books and doing some voluntary work in your spare time. Reading books can improve your knowledge. Doing some voluntary work can make you feel happy.
In my opinion, you should also stay away from computer games. Playing too many computer games will make you lose interest in your study. Moreover, it’s bad for your eyes.
Thank you for listening!

Chopsticks are a pair of sticks to be used when eating. They were first used in China and then introduced to other countries. Chopsticks are one of the symbols of Chinese food culture.
Chinese people started to use chopsticks about 3, 000 years ago. During the pre-Qin period, chopsticks were called “Jia”, and in the Qin and Han dynasties, they were called “Zhu”. By the Ming Dynasty, people began to call them “Kuai”, meaning “fast” in Chinese. This is the origin (起源) of today’s name of Chinese chopsticks.
There are many folk stories about who invented chopsticks. One is that Jiang Ziya created chopsticks after getting an idea from a mythical (神秘的) bird. It is also said that Yu the Great, who founded the Xia Dynasty, used sticks to pick hot food in order to save time when he tried to control floods.
When eating with family members, Chinese people usually let the elders take up chopsticks before anyone else. Besides, playing with chopsticks is impolite. It’s also bad to tap (敲) chopsticks on the edge of your bowl, because in ancient China beggars (乞丐) often did it to attract attention.
