We humans have been changing the animals around us for a very long time. A recent study found that humans turned wild wolves into dogs, maybe as early as 40,000 years ago. What’s more, we have influenced animals greatly, right up to the present day. Because as we change the world, animals have to do some changes if they want to survive(生存).
For one example, consider how the roads we drive on could be changing the birds that fly over them. A study of swallows in Nebraska found that, from 1983 to 2022, the birds’ wings got shorter. That’s probably because having smaller wings made them better at avoiding cars. The number of swallows killed by cars actually went down over the study period, even as the total swallow population increased. However, most of the swallows that were killed have longer wings.
Usually, elephants have tusks(象牙)after birth. Humans cutting off the elephants’ tusks may also have led many of them to be without tusks when they’ re born.
Living close to humans may even make some animals smarter. City raccoons(浣熊)are better than country ones at opening bottles to get food. To keep safe, one of the new skills they learn is to keep away from major roads, where they’ re in greater danger!
As we see these changes in animals, it reminds us that animals are adapting to our world. What about trying to make changes, too? Maybe slow down on roads for crossing animals, or leave part of our gardens for wildlife. The earth belongs to all of us. Let’s share it instead of making it harder for wildlife to live on!

Do you often feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day? Have you noticed that it can be hard to organize your time well? Here are some time management tips to help you organize your day better and make the most of your time.
36 Memory is not always as reliable(可靠的)as it seems. Write a “to-do” list for each day, especially the night before or first thing in the morning.
Things don’t always go as planned. Experts say that mistakes and unexpected things can take up half of your time. 37
If you are sure that what you have to do is of great importance, it will be easier to say “no” to things that you don’t have to do and to people who make unexpected demands(要求)on your time. Remember, saying “no” isn’t always a weakness.
People have more energy at different times of day. 38 Try to do your tasks at the time that works best for you.
When there’s a job you really fear doing, don’t keep putting it off. Make “holes” in it by breaking it into smaller tasks. 39 This is called the “Swiss cheese method”.
40 If you keep trying and know yourself well, you can take control of your time and feel more comfortable and successful every day.
根据材料内容,从下面五个选项中选出能填入文中空缺处的最佳选项,使文章意思通顺、内容完整。
A. Don’t depend on your memory alone.
B. Do one of the tasks at a time and set a time limit.
C. Try these tips step by step and see what works for you.
D. Some work better in the morning while some in the afternoon or evening.
E. You may need to change your plans and do fewer things than you expected.

The Poetry Camera looks like a common camera. But it’s 58 different! Instead of taking photos. Instead, it prints a short poem in one 59 .
When you point the camera 60 something and press the button(按下快门), it sends the data(数据)to an Al language model. This AI model understands 61 it “sees” and then writes a poem about it. The poem might describe the place or express 62 feelings. The camera then prints the poem on paper by 63 a small printer inside. The best part is that you can choose different poem styles.
However, there are a few things to note. The camera can’t store any pictures or data. The inventors want you to focus on the moment and the 64 words that come from it. What’s more, it 65 a Wi-Fi connection to use the AI.

When it comes to choosing a place to study on weekends, different students have different ideas. As for me, I like to study in the school library best. The reasons are as follows.
First, the library offers all kinds of helpful books and materials, which makes it easy for me to find the information I need for my homework or research. Second, the quiet environment there keeps me away from noise, so I can focus better on my studies. Besides, seeing other students working hard around me encourages me to be more diligent. What’s more, sometimes I can also join study groups with classmates in the library, and we can discuss difficult problems together to improve our learning efficiency.
The library helps me study better and form good habits.
