During the competition, Eileen Gu, the former Olympic freestyle skiing champion, once again showed fantastic flips (空翻) and spins (旋转) in the air. Finally, she got one gold medal and two silver medals in total.
② However, winning isn’t her only goal this time. She also wants to send an important message to young people, especially (尤其是) girls, around the world. “Don’t be afraid to try,” she says. “A lot of the time, the thing that holds you back most is that little voice in your head: What if I’m not good enough? What if I embarrass myself? What if someone laughs at me? All those scary thoughts make you afraid to move your steps forward. But I promise you, you will never look back and regret that you tried your hardest and did your best.”
③ Gu started skiing at the age of three and joined her first team four years later. For many years, she was the only girl on her team. She says that some people doubt female athletes and their ability in sports. This has stopped many teenage girls from playing sports. But Gu disagrees. She believes that girls can do well in every sport as long as they put their whole heart into it. As a role model, she hopes her story will help girls stay confident and be brave enough to try.
④ Gu tells us that courage grows when we meet our fear, so don’t let fear snowball. Face it bravely. Even if something seems scary at first, give it a try! That’s how we become excellent step by step.

【导语】本文是一篇记叙文,主要介绍谷爱凌在2026冬奥会夺得1金2银,她鼓励年轻人直面恐惧、勇敢尝试,尤其希望激励女孩参与运动。
【详解】11.第一段提到“The 2026 Winter Olympics came to an end on February 22nd this year. The opening ceremony was held on the 6th of the same month.” 2月6日开幕,2月22日闭幕。计算天数:22-6+1=17天。17天相当于 **超过两周(14天),但不足20天(C选项“Over twenty days”错误),更不是两个月或近一年。故B正确。
12.第二段首句“However, winning isn’t her only goal this time. She also wants to send an important message to young people”点明本段核心。
13.第三段明确写道:“For many years, she was the only girl on her team.”(多年以来,她是队里唯一的女孩。),C项与此完全一致。
14.第二段谷爱凌说“What if I embarrass myself?”,结合上下文“What if I’m not good enough? What if someone laughs at me?”(万一我不够好怎么办?
文章重点在于:谷爱凌鼓励年轻人克服恐惧、勇敢尝试,尤其在最后一段点明“courage grows when we meet our fear... Face it bravely.” D项“向谷学习:勇敢面对恐惧”准确概括了主旨。
B
Lake Victoria is the largest lake in Africa. It is the second largest freshwater lake in the world too. It is an important lake because it is one of the sources (源头) of the longest river in the world, the Nile River. Lake Victoria gives water, food and power to some African countries. Lake Victoria is a big part of African life.
Unluckily, Lake Victoria has a problem. It is getting smaller. In Uganda, there are power stations at Lake Victoria. Besides (除了) producing power, they should keep the water of the lake at a certain level. The level was over 10 metres in the 1970s. Over the last few years, the water level has gone down by about 2.5 metres. There seem to be a few reasons.
One possible reason is drought (旱灾). There has been very bad drought in the area since 2000. Lake Victoria gets most of its water from rain, so the drought means less water in the lake.
However, some people believe that the real problem is the power stations. Uganda depends on those power stations for most of its power, and it made the power stations larger in 2000. Many people believe that the power stations are taking too much water from Lake Victoria. So, they must use less water until Lake Victoria goes back to its old level.
This is already a poor area of Africa. People, animals and plants around Lake Victoria will have a harder time because of the low water level of the lake. People need Lake Victoria for fishing or growing food. Plants and animals need it for water. Plants around the lake will die without the water, and then more animals and people will suffer (受苦).
16.What can we know about Lake Victoria from the passage?
A.It is a new lake. B.It is an important lake in Africa.
C.It is the largest lake in the world. D.It is the only source of the Nile River.
17.What does the underlined word “they” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A.African countries. B.The power stations.
C.A few reasons. D.Levels of the lake.
18.What can we know from Paragraphs 3 and 4?
A.Rainwater is the only source of the lake.
B.There has been much rain in the lake area since 2000.
C.The power stations in Uganda were smaller in 2000.
D.The power stations in Uganda bring problems to the area.
19.According to the passage, if the water level of Lake Victoria doesn’t rise soon,________.
A.the power stations will stop working
B.more people will move to other areas
C.many people, animals and plants may suffer
D.the African countries will build more power stations
20.What is the structure of the passage?
A.B.C. D.

A.B.C. D.

Students at Nankai University in Tianjin held special events on Thursday. They marked the 50th anniversary of Premier Zhou Enlai’s passing. They gathered on the campus lawn, singing old revolutionary (革命的) songs and sharing stories about Zhou’s life. 26 Many students stood in silence for a minute after laying the flowers, showing their deep respect.
Zhou had a close link with Tianjin and Nankai. He studied at Nankai High School first, then became one of Nankai University’s first students. 27 These movements taught him to care about the country and its people, and he often spoke for students’ rights there. Tianjin helped shape his ideas and start his revolutionary journey. A university teacher said Nankai’s education deeply influenced him.
To remember Zhou, the university put on a stage show. 28 The photos included his old school reports and group photos with classmates, making his story feel real and touching. A school official said the show let people know Zhou’s life and dreams better. For students, the events were more than a memorial. 29 They discussed how to follow his example and make their own contributions (贡献) to society. One student said Zhou devoted his life to people and encouraged her to study hard.
Memorial activities also went beyond the university. 30 Visitors from different cities brought flowers and wrote down their feelings in a guest book. The hall manager said people still respect Zhou very much. Tianjin also made travel routes about Zhou for young people.
A.It showed Zhou’s early years in Tianjin with photos and words.

A.African countries. B.The power stations.
C.A few reasons. D.Levels of the lake.
