Different kinds of weather make people feel different. They influence (影响) health, intelligence and feelings.
In the southern part of the United States, it is very hot sometimes and very cold at other time. People in those places have more heart trouble and other kinds of health problems after the weather changes in February or March.
The weather can also influence intelligence. For example, in the report of 1983 by scientists, IQ of a group of students is very high when a very strong wind comes, but after the strong wind, their IQ is 10% lower. The wind can help people have more intelligence. Very hot weather, on the other hand, can make it lower. Students in many schools of the United States often get worse scores in exams in the hot months of the year.
Weather also has a strong influence on people’s feelings. Winter may be a bad time for thin people. They usually feel cold and unhappy during these months. But fat people may have a hard time in hot summer. Low air pressure (气压) may make people forgetful. Scientists say people leave more bags on buses and in shops on those days. People feel best at a temperature of about 18℃.
Are you feeling sad, tired, forgetful or unhappy today? It may be the weather’s problem.
30. Students in the US may get lower grades if they take an exam in ________.
A. May B. December C. July D. February
31. According to the article, which is NOT likely influenced by weather?
A. Jason’s IQ is higher when a strong wind comes.
B. On a windy day, David left his schoolbag on the bus.
C. Tina had a heart attack after the weather change in February.
D. Linda, who is very thin, often feels colder and less happy in winter.
32. What’s the structure of the passage?
A. ①/②/③④/⑤ B. ①/②/③④⑤ C. ①/②③④/⑤ D. ①/②③④⑤
C 31. B 32. C
第三段提到“Students in many schools of the United States often get worse scores in exams in the hot months of the year.”,在四个选项中,July是北半球夏季最热的月份之一,属于“hot months”,符合文意。
第三段“wind can help people have more intelligence”表明强风时智商更高,A项符合原文;第四段“Low air pressure may make people forgetful ... people leave more bags on buses”表明,忘记东西的原因是低气压,不是有风,B项不符合原文;第二段“people ... have more heart trouble...after the weather changes in February or March”表明二月天气变化后心脏病发作,C项符合原文;第四段“Winter may be a bad time for thin people. They usually feel cold and unhappy”表明瘦人冬天更冷更不开心,D项符合原文。
Walking through the city streets with a few close friends has become more and more popular among young people in China. It is called City walk People would like to have a trip to walk around the city to relax and explore the beauty of the city.
City walk first appeared in London, England, to let tourists travel like locals. A group of people followed a guide, enjoyed the streets of the city, saw the buildings up close and got a deep understanding of the history and culture. At that time, City walk emphasized heartfelt feelings and new understanding.
But in China, City walk emphasizes following the heart and moving at a slower speed. People do not need to have a good plan before they start walking. Unlike walking in the park or around the neighbourhood, City walk involves discovering old buildings, visiting special shops, having a cup of coffee, trying local food and so on. People take photos, make videos and share their stories online. They tell others where they go and what they find.
In this fast-paced world, young people are always working hard and having little time to visit local places. City walk helps them live a warmer, more relaxed and slower lifestyle. Whether it’s a busy market, a small shop in a small neighbourhood or a modern city street, they can all feel comfortable.
So, let’s go walking together and discover how beautiful everyday life looks!
33. What does the underlined word “emphasizes” mean in the passage?
34. According to the passage, what do people do during a City walk in China?
A. They follow a guide to learn history. B. They run quickly through the streets.
C. They take photos and make videos. D. They only visit modern city streets.
35. Why do young people like City walk in China?
A. It helps them find better jobs. B. It gives them more time to work.
C. It offers chances for travel. D. It allows them to have a slower lifestyle.
36. What is the best title for this passage?
A. City walk for All Ages B. City walk in the Small Neighbourhood
C. City walk Around the World D. City walk — A Way to Lead a Slow Life
A 34. C 35. D 36. D
根据第三段“But in China, City walk emphasizes following the heart and moving at a slower speed.”
第三段“People take photos, make videos and share their stories online.”
第四段“City walk helps them live a warmer, more relaxed and slower lifestyle.”
In December 2021, people in Shenzhen found that water ran more slowly from their taps. The government said the city was facing its most serious water shortage ever.
Some other cities in the southern part of China, like Chengdu and Guangzhou, are also becoming “thirsty”, the paper reported.Compared (相比) with northern areas, southern areas have more rain and are close to more rivers and lakes. So why are they still short on water?
In big cities like Shenzhen and Guangzhou, populations are growing fast. As a result, people and factories need more and more water. Each person in Shenzhen has less than 200 cubic meters of water each year. It’s 1/12 of the country’s average According to the United Nations,it is an “absolute water shortage” when the number is below 500 cubic meters.
Climate change is making the water problem worse. For example, most cities in Guangdong depend on the Dongjiang River as their main source of water. In 2021, the river was reported to be drying up. Because of climate change, there’s also less snow in the mountains of Xizang. The snow has long been the source of water for many areas in China. Those mountains might provide less water in the future.
There are other reasons for water shortages. For example, water pollution makes it harder to get clean drinking water. Factories and farms don’t use water efficiently (有效地). Some cities have enough rainfall, but don’t have big lakes or reservoirs (水库) to store water. The water just goes into the sea.
37. According to the passage, which is NOT a direct reason for the water shortage in southern cities?
A. The rapidly growing population in big cities.
B. Climate change leading to less rainfall and snowmelt.
C. A lack of large lakes and reservoirs to store rainwater.
D. People’s daily habits of taking showers for a long time.
38. How much water does each person in Shenzhen have each year?
A. More than 500 cubic meters. B. Less than 200 cubic meters.
C. About the same as the country’s average. D. As much as they need.
39. Which river is the main source of water for most cities in Guangdong?
A. The Yangtze River. B. The Pearl River.
C. The Dongjiang River. D. The Xizang River.
40. What’s the main idea of this passage?
A. The water shortage in some southern cities.
B. People should say no to water pollution.
C. The climate change makes the water shortage worse.
D. The government calls on Shenzhen people to save water.
D 38. B 39. C 40. A

根据第三段“Each person in Shenzhen has less than 200 cubic meters of water each year.”

He knows that ________ ________ ________ ________ solve the problem.
【答案】 ①. it ②. is ③. hard##difficult ④. to

He ________ an hour ________ the Maths homework carefully every day.
This ________ ________ ________ his mum ________.
They ________ ________ ________ ________ their maths as soon as possible.
【答案】 ①. look ②. forward ③. to ④. improving
期待做某事;improve提高;主语They是复数,因此空缺处应填look forward to improving。

Recently, I watched the documentary Home. It made me see two sides of our planet: it is not only amazing but also easily hurt. As we all know, the Earth is amazing. We can see beautiful landscapes everywhere.
However, the Earth is easily hurt. People burn things and this pollutes the air. Besides, people put rubbish into the sea and under the ground. This pollutes the water and soil.
We must protect our Earth. First, we should plant more trees. Second, we mustn’t throw rubbish everywhere. Most importantly, we must turn off the lights when we leave the room. If we can do these, our Earth will become more and more beautiful.

Different kinds of weather make people feel different. They influence (影响) health, intelligence and feelings.
In the southern part of the United States, it is very hot sometimes and very cold at other time. People in those places have more heart trouble and other kinds of health problems after the weather changes in February or March.

City walk — A Way to Lead a Slow Life
In December 2021, people in Shenzhen found that water ran more slowly from their taps.
