Our teacher asked us to do a chick-hatching (雏鸡孵化) project. I felt excited because I had never done it before. But he told us that hatching chicks wasn’t easy. It has something to do with many things, especially the temperature (温度). It can’t be too hot or too cold.
First, I got some eggs. Our teacher said we should choose good eggs. To keep them from breaking, I picked them up carefully and then put them in a box. I thought the temperature outside was comfortable enough for them to grow up. So I took them out and used a cloth to keep them warm. But the temperature at night was low. Days later, none of them hatched. I cried when I saw that. Our teacher said, “We can’t tell how fragile (脆弱的) life is. The chance to live is always important. Don’t give up just because you didn’t do something successfully.”
So I read books and looked up information online. I knew a lot about how to hatch a chick. Days later, two chickens came out slowly and happily to see the world. Seeing the little chickens, I couldn’t express how excited I was.
I saw them getting older day by day. The feeling is just like parents seeing their children growing up. I’m happy that I did this work successfully in the end and I learned a lot from it. We should value (重视) life.
