At 23:44 on October 31, 2025, a Long March rocket took the Shenzhou-21 spaceship into the sky. It carried three astronauts to space successfully.

Do middle school students need to learn traditional arts?
With the rapid development of AI and technology, the ways students learn traditional arts are different from the past. Do we need to learn things like paper-cutting and calligraphy (书法)? Does technology help us learn, or just let us “watch for fun”? Here are opinions of some students from No. 1 Junior Middle school.
Xiao Nanxing (Grade 7): Yes, we do! My grandma learned paper cutting at school. Few of my classmates learn it now, but I learned it from short videos—it’s fun. Technology makes me want to learn.
Wu Zetong (Grade 9): No, I don’t think so. A survey says 75% of students born before 2000 learned them from school or family. But now,90% of us only watch related videos, and 60% just swipe (滑) to the next. Calligraphy takes too much time. Drawing on the iPad is better.
Li Yukai (Grade 8): Yes, for sure! My mom asked an old craftsman to teach her to make clay figures. She even got clay from the river. Now I bought a clay set online and watch live classes. A survey says 15% more students keep learning for over a year—technology fixes the resource problem.
Zi Xuan (Grade 9): Yes, but we need new ways. Before, students practiced traditional arts hard, like writing 100 Chinese brush writings every day. Now we can use apps, or turn paper-cuts into emojis. It’s not as writing on the paper, but better than forgetting them.
