判断型阅读理解专项训练 阅读理解:Nature Sounds When we feel stressed, many things help us relax, like taking a bath or listening to slow music. But did you know bird songs and nature sounds are also great for calming down? A study found that hearing birds sing can make people feel happier and less stressed. Sounds like leaves crunching, water trickling, or waves lapping on the shore work even better than some meditation apps. If you can’t go to the woods or beach, don’t worry. Listening to recordings of bird songs or nature sounds can still help you relax. So next time you feel tired or stressed, try listening to some nature sounds — it might make you feel much better! Dr. Spencer Silver was trying to make a super-strong glue, but instead he made a weak, low-tack glue that didn’t leave marks. At first, no one knew what to use it for. Years later, a man named Arthur Fry heard about the glue. He sang in a choir and hated that his paper bookmarks kept falling out. He thought: what if he put that weak glue on small paper squares? It worked perfectly! The notes stuck tight, but peeled off cleanly. That’s how Post-it notes were born. Today, they come in many colors and sizes, used for notes, lists, art, and school work. ( ) 1. Her neighbours helped pull her out, but her home and all her things were gone. She lost some of her grandchildren in the earthquake too. After the quake, she lived in a small temporary shelter. A mobile clinic came to her village to help injured people like her. Another survivor, 78-year-old U Kyaw Win, lost his home in a fire after the earthquake. When you talk to someone, look at their eyes sometimes to show you’re listening. Keep your hands relaxed, and shake hands firmly but friendly. Leaning forward a little shows you’re interested.
