What is money management?
This means learning how to use your money wisely so you can pay for things you need.
It teaches you about saving, spending, earning, and borrowing. If you’re given cash for your birthday, money management means deciding whether to spend it straight away or invest the money in a savings account and watch it grow. Research shows that young people start to develop financial habits (learning to manage money) from the age of seven, so the sooner you understand how to make good choices, the easier it will be to manage money when you’re older.
How is it good for you?
Money doesn’t buy happiness, but it plays a big role in life. As well as helping you live comfortably, it gives you the freedom to choose how to live. Author Anna Mathur says learning healthy money habits makes you feel more confident. It also teaches important skills such as decision-making and self-control. Choosing not to buy a small treat now so you can afford something bigger later is called “delayed gratification” and studies show this helps you manage your emotions and feel happier.
28. In which part of a teenager magazine can we read the passage?
A. Science & Technology B. World News
C. Animals & Environment D. Smart Living
29. According to the 50/30/20 rule, how much of the money should you save?
A. 20%. B. 30%. C. 50%. D. 100%.
30. What does the underlined phrase “delayed gratification” mean in the passage?
A. Spending all your money as soon as you get it.
B. Buying a small treat to make yourself happy now.
C. Waiting to buy a better thing later instead of now.
D. Borrowing money from others to buy what you want.
D 29. A 30. C
原文划线词上文直接给出定义:“Choosing not to buy a small treat now so you can afford something bigger later is called ‘delayed gratification’”,选择现在不买小零食,以便以后能买得起更大的东西,“推迟当下的满足,以换取未来更好的回报”,即等待以后买更好的东西而不是现在。
C
Summer was our best season: summer was everything good to eat; it was a thousand colours in a hot and dry landscape; but most of all, summer was Dill.
Dill was our summer friend from Meridian, Mississippi. He spent every summer with his Aunt Rachel, who lived next door to us. Jem and I met Dill on the first day of summer vacation, and we quickly became inseparable. We rolled inside an old tire, pushed each other, and invented games.
Our favourite game was about Boo Radley, a mysterious man who lived in a dark, old house at the end of our street. People said Boo was a strange man who never came out during the day. They told stories that he went out at night, peeped (窥视) in windows, and caused small troubles in the neighborhood. Jem, Dill, and I were all scared but really interested in him.
One day, Jem suggested we act out the stories about Boo Radley. We made up a play called “Boo Radley”, in which Jem played Boo, Dill played Mr. Radley, and I played Mrs. Radley. We polished and perfected our play every day, adding dialogue and new plots. We even used old scissors to pretend to hurt each other, just like the stories said Boo had done to his father.
One afternoon, Atticus, my father, walked by while we were playing. He saw Jem holding the scissors and asked what we were doing. My heart suddenly started beating so hard that I felt it hitting my ribs. Jem lied and said we were just playing a normal game. Our father looked at us seriously and told us to stop making fun of the Radleys. He said we should never judge a person until we had climbed into his skin and walked around in it.
I felt guilty after Atticus spoke to us. Later that day, when I rolled past the Radley house in the tire, I heard a low, soft laugh coming from inside the house. It was not a scary laugh—it sounded gentle and kind. For the first time, I wondered if Boo Radley was really as terrible as everyone said. Maybe he was just lonely, watching us from his dark window, wishing he could come out and play with us too.
31. When Atticus saw Jem holding the scissors, the writer probably felt ________.
A. bored B. afraid C. interested D. surprised
32. What can we learn about Boo Radley from the passage?
A. He felt deeply hurt by the kids’ silly play.
B. He was more pleasant than people thought.
C. He planned to make friends with the kids.
D. He hated being watched by the neighbours.
33. Which is the best title for this story?
A. A Low Soft Laugh B. Summer with Dill
C. A Dark Old House D. The Radley Game
B 32. B 33. D
根据第五段中“My heart suddenly started beating so hard that I felt it hitting my ribs.”
根据最后一段中“I heard a low, soft laugh coming from inside the house. It was not a scary laugh—it sounded gentle and kind...Maybe he was just lonely”可知,Boo Radley的笑声是轻柔的、温和善良的,他可能只是很孤独,因此他比人们想象中更令人愉快。
D
For humans, we communicate using words - English, Chinese, or other languages. But in the AI world, the only language AI can understand is tokens. In simple terms, a token is the smallest unit of information that AI processes.
When we speak to AI tools like GPT or DeepSeek, our words are translated into tokens and numbers and then sent into the large language model. The AI then receives the token ID and starts computing to solve our problems. For example, take the sentence: “How are you today?” If we tokenize this sentence using the GPT model, we get five tokens, including the characters and punctuation marks. Then, each token gets its own ID number.
If we use the GPT image model to generate a picture, it consumes (消耗) about 500 to 1,000 tokens. When we ask an AI chatbot to explain the meaning of tokens, the conversation may include about 2,000 words, which equals about 2,500 tokens (i.e., one token ≈ 0.75 English words in GPT). The number of tokens used differs across different languages and depends on the tokenizer as well.
Tokens are not only the bridge between us and the AI world; they also act as a form of money. They serve both as the billing unit for large language model providers and as the medium for value exchange. The picture on the right shows the current token prices (per one million tokens) for several mainstream large language models on the market, such as GPT and Cloud.
Also, the rapid growth of Open Claw earlier this year has driven token consumption to a new peak, especially in China. In March, China’s average daily token usage went beyond 140 trillion (万亿). Computing power is now changing from a cost item for companies to a strategic resource that determines competitiveness. Global tech giants like Nvidia and Microsoft have already included tokens in their financial (财务的) reports. Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, said at GTC 2026: “The turning point of inference (推理) has arrived.” Tokens have truly become a key part of the global economy (经济).
34. How many tokens would the sentence “Wow, that is great!” have in GPT model?
A. Four. B. Five. C. Six. D. Seven.
35. The following sentence can be best placed at the end of ________.
This is how AI breaks down and understands human language.
A. Paragraph 2. B. Paragraph 3. C. Paragraph 4. D. Paragraph 5.
36. How does the writer show that tokens act as a form of money?
A. By listing the names of several AI companies.
B. By providing an example of tokenizing a sentence.
C. By showing token prices and comparing them to money.
D. By explaining how computing power changes over time.
37. What can we infer from Jensen Huang’s words?
A. AI models won’t need training any more.
B. Tokens will be much cheaper in the future.
C. More people should learn how to use AI.
D. AI’s reasoning ability is becoming important.
C 35. A 36. C 37. D
根据第二段中“How are you today?”被标记化为5个token(包含字符和标点)。句子“Wow, that is great!”包含单词“Wow”(1个)、“that”(1个)、“is”(1个)、“great”(1个)以及感叹号和逗号(2个标点),共6个token。
根据第四段中“They serve both as the billing unit...and as the medium for value exchange.”
根据最后一段中Jensen Huang的话“The turning point of inference has arrived.”

at that moment为过去进行时标志,主语fans为复数,故填were cheering。
51. In fact, the players ________ (come) from all walks of life.
【答案】come
52. They train very hard ________ (fight) for the honour of the city.
【答案】to fight
53. Suchao Fever ________ (spread) across Jiangsu these days.
【答案】is spreading
主语Suchao Fever是单数,所以be动词用is;动词spread的ing形式是spreading。
54. The exciting matches ________ (watch) by millions of people online every weekend.
【答案】are watched
句中出现by millions of people(被数百万人),说明主语The exciting matches(比赛)是动作的承受者,因此要用被动语态,时间状语every weekend(每个周末)表示经常性、习惯性的动作,因此要用一般现在时,主语The exciting matches是复数形式,因此被动语态的be动词要用are,watch的过去分词是watched,故填 are watched。
55. Su Chao allows more people ________ (learn) about local culture.
【答案】to learn
allow sb. to do sth.
56. My school also ________ (organize) some games last month and everyone had a great time.
57. I believe people ________ (remember) these exciting moments for a long time.
【答案】will remember

My Ideal Study Agent
AI is bringing great changes to education. A well-designed study agent can be a great help to students like us.
Many of my classmates find it difficult to solve difficult math problems. And we often feel nervous when speaking English.
I hope my study agent can break down hard math problems into simple steps. It can also chat with me in English to help me feel more confident. What’s more, it can remind me to stay on task.
I believe we should use study agents wisely. First, we should always try to solve problems by ourselves before asking the agent for help. Second, we should use the agent to improve our own abilities, not just to get quick answers.

A. Spending all your money as soon as you get it.
B. Buying a small treat to make yourself happy now.
C. Waiting to buy a better thing later instead of now.
D. Borrowing money from others to buy what you want.
