Fill in each blank with the word or phrase that best fits the context. A new artificial intelligence-powered stethoscope, a device that medical experts use to listen to sounds in the body such as a heartbeat, can detect three different heart conditions in 15 seconds. More than one million people across the UK are now affected by heart failure, a(n) 21 where the heart can’t make blood flow properly because of weak muscle function. One 22 is shortness of breath, but it is frequently ignored. As a result, 70% of people only have the condition 23 after they have been rushed to hospital. The new device, developed by a team at Imperial College London and the National Health Service, looks about the 24 of a playing card. Doctors put it on a patient’s chest and it records the electrical signals in the heart and listens to the sound of blood flowing through the organ. Then, this 25 is sent to an AI system. The system then 26 it against data from thousands of other people to see if there’s a problem, and the result is immediately sent to a smartphone. Scientists looked at what happened to patients whose doctors examined them with a(n) 27 stethoscope, and those whose doctors used the AI one. The study included more than 12,700 people at about 200 GP (全科医生) surgeries in north London over the course of a year. This study found that the AI stethoscope was able to detect 28 heart activity that a doctor might miss with a regular one. Patients 29 with the AI stethoscope were twice as likely to have their heart failure spotted. The device was also 3.5 times more likely to find atrial fibrillation, namely an irregular heartbeat. It was also better at 30 whether one or more of a patient’s heart valves, which are like doors to the different sections in the heart and control blood flow, were not working properly. There are some problems to be solved, though. The AI stethoscope often told patients that they could be 31 heart failure when they weren’t. The researchers said that the 32 should only be used when GPs suspected that their patient had heart problems, and not for routine checks on healthy people. “This is an elegant example of how the 33 stethoscope, invented more than 200 years ago, can be upgraded for the 21st century,” said Dr Sonya Babu-Narayan, from the British Heart Foundation charity. “We need 34 like these, providing early detection of heart failure.” 35 , she said, the condition can be quite advanced by the time the patient goes to hospital feeling unwell. 21.A.situation B.disorder C.framework D.platform 22.A.figure B.role C.sign D.location 23.A.upgraded B.overlooked C.confirmed D.registered 24.A.value B.size C.symbol D.clue 25.A.information B.analysis C.sample D.card 26.A.compares B.protects C.balances D.exchanges 27.A.experimental B.virtual C.durable D.traditional 28.A.strong B.initial C.instant D.unusual 29.A.supported B.examined C.equipped D.defended 30.A.picking up B.turning down C.making for D.taking over 31.A.classifying B.experiencing C.measuring D.controlling 32.A.research B.solution C.section D.device 33.A.useless B.advanced C.humble D.remote 34.A.innovations B.suspicions C.evaluations D.conclusions 35.A.However B.Therefore C.Besides D.Otherwise 【答案】 21.B 22.C 23.C 24.B 25.A 26.A 27.D 28.D 29.B 30.A 31.B 32.D 33.C 34.A 35.D 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。 A. situation情况;B. disorder疾病,紊乱;C. framework框架;D. platform平台。根据后文“where the heart can’t make blood flow properly because of weak muscle function”可知,心力衰竭是身体病症,disorder特指身体机能紊乱性疾病。故选B。 22. A. upgraded升级;B. overlooked忽视;C. confirmed确认,证实;D. registered登记。根据前文“but it is frequently ignored”和“As a result”可知,前文提到早期症状被忽视,因此大多患者只能就医后才被确诊患病。故选C。 24. A. value价值;B. size大小;C. symbol象征;D. clue线索。根据后文“of a playing card”可知,此处用来描述设备的外形大小,固定搭配the size of 表示“……的尺寸大小”。故选B。 25.考查名词词义辨析。句意:然后,这些信息被发送到一个人工智能系统。A. information信息;B. analysis分析;C. sample样本;D. card卡片。根据前文“it records the electrical signals in the heart and listens to the sound of blood flowing through the organ”可知,设备会记录心脏电信号与血流声音,这些收集到的内容统称为医疗信息。故选A。 26. A. compares比较;B. protects保护;C. balances平衡;D. exchanges交换。根据后文“against data from thousands of other people”可知,此处指将信息与其他人的数据进行比较,是AI系统的数据分析逻辑,固定搭配compare... against... 与……作比对”。故选A。 27. A. experimental实验的;B. virtual虚拟的;C. durable耐用的;D. traditional传统的。根据后文“those whose doctors used the AI one”,“ with a regular one”和“stethoscope, invented more than 200 years ago”可知,此处指普通老式的常规听诊器,与新型AI设备形成对比。故选D。 28. 根据后文“that a doctor might miss with a regular one”可知,普通医生难以发现的是非常规、异常的心脏活动信号。故选D。 29. A. supported支持;B. examined检查;C. equipped装备;D. defended防御。 A. picking up检测到;B. turning down拒绝;C. making for走向,有助于;D. taking over接管。根据后文“whether one or more of a patient’s heart valves, which are like doors to the different sections in the heart and control blood flow, were not working properly”可知,此处指设备精准捕捉、察觉心脏瓣膜的病变问题。故选A。 31. A. classifying分类;B. experiencing经历;C. measuring测量;D. controlling控制。根据后文“heart failure when they weren’t”可知,此处指经历心力衰竭,experience heart failure是常用表达,意为“患有心力衰竭”。故选B。 32. A. research研究;B. solution解决方案;C. section部分;D. device设备。根据后文“should only be used when GPs suspected that their patient had heart problems”可知,全文核心介绍这款 AI 听诊器这一医疗设备,此处指上文提到的人工智能听诊器这个设备。故选D。 33. A. innovations创新;B. suspicions怀疑;C. evaluations评估;D. conclusions结论。 故选A。 35. A. Before that, his youth had been filled with intense racing sports. He had been participating in snowmobile races since 2002. The doctor said the only way he would survive was by amputating (截) his left leg above the knee. He wasn’t ready to give up his athletic career. Just weeks after his surgery, he was sneaking away for short joyrides on his snowmobile and knew he had to find a way to return to sports. And that’s when he started thinking about developing his own prosthetic (义肢的) leg to get back into riding. His first prosthetic leg was designed for everyday use and walking. It was not made to withstand the impact and movement of intense athletics and motorsports. So, Mike — without any technical engineering training — started to build his own prosthetic leg. After five weeks of working in his garage workstation, Mike made his own prosthetic leg, which used a mountain bike shock absorber and included other creative details. Not even a year later, he was placing second at the ESPN Summer X Games Adaptive Super - X with his own prosthetic invention. In 2010, he constituted his company to design and make lower limb prosthetic components for amputees looking to participate in high-intensity sports and activities. The goal originally was to create something to get back on his motocross bike and his snowmobile. And about a year later, he realized that there were so many other adaptive athletes that could employ the equipment he was developing. “I’ve always had two sides to my career — competing and building,” Mike said in a statement. “For years, I’ve pushed myself to be the best athlete I could be, while spending countless hours improving the equipment that makes that performance possible. As I step away from competition, I’m excited to take everything I’ve learned and apply it to helping the next generation of athletes go even further.” 36.What do we know about Mike before the accident? A.He had already lost his left leg. B.He had limited experience in racing. C.He was keen on competitive sports. D.He was devoted to prosthesis making. 37.Why did Mike decide to develop his own prosthetic leg? A.To fit in with intense racing sports. B.To compete as an abnormal athlete. C.To reduce the cost of a prosthetic leg. D.To help other athletes with disabilities. 38.What does the underlined word “constituted” mean in paragraph 4? A.Founded. B.Explored. C.Purchased. D.Exhibited. 39.What might Mike think of his building prosthetic legs? A.It is his only choice. B.It is a win-win choice. C.It pushes him too much. D.It is an inspiration for others. 根据第一段“Before that, his youth had been filled with intense racing sports.(在此之前,他的青春岁月一直沉浸在激烈的赛车运动之中)”可知,在事故发生之前,迈克热衷于竞技体育。 37. 根据第二段“Just weeks after his surgery, he was sneaking away for short joyrides on his snowmobile and knew he had to find a way to return to sports. And that’s when he started thinking about developing his own prosthetic (义肢的) leg to get back into riding.(就在接受手术后的几周内,他便偷偷骑着自己的雪地摩托出去短暂兜风,而且他深知自己必须找到重返运动的途径。就在那时,他开始考虑自己研发一套义肢腿,以便重新骑车)”可知,迈克决定自己制作一副假肢来适应激烈的赛车运动。 38.词句猜测题。根据划线词后文“design and make lower limb prosthetic components for amputees looking to participate in high-intensity sports and activities(设计和制造用于帮助截肢者参与高强度运动和活动的下肢假肢部件)”可知,后文提及设计、生产运动义肢部件,说明是建立了公司,故划线词意思是“建立”。 39. 根据第五段““I’ve always had two sides to my career — competing and building,” Mike said in a statement. “For years, I’ve pushed myself to be the best athlete I could be, while spending countless hours improving the equipment that makes that performance possible. As I step away from competition, I’m excited to take everything I’ve learned and apply it to helping the next generation of athletes go even further.”(迈克在一份声明中表示:“我的职业生涯一直有着两个方面——竞争与建设。多年来,我一直努力让自己成为最出色的运动员,同时花费大量时间改进能够实现这种表现的装备。如今当我不再参与比赛时,我很高兴能将自己所学到的一切运用到帮助下一代运动员取得更大成就的工作中去。”)”可知,迈克认为他的假肢是一个双赢的选择,不但让自己成为一名优秀的运动员,还帮助了下一代运动员。 B For many people, childhood is the best time of their lives. Children’s Day is celebrated by different countries on different days of the year. It is a holiday that celebrates the happiness, healthy growth, and bright future of children. China Children’s Day is on June 1st. On this day, pupils go to school as usual, but often for only half of the day. The school day tends to involve various Children’s Day activities instead of regular classes. The celebration doesn’t end at school. After school, parents usually take their children out to play. They often celebrate by having a picnic in the park or by going to an amusement park, the cinema, or the zoo. Many tourist attractions, including the Forbidden City, have discounts on admission or are completely free for children on this day. Japan The Japanese people celebrate Children’s Day on the fifth day of the fifth month every year. Families fly colorful carp flags (鲤鱼旗) from their homes, as carps represent determination and vigor in Japanese folklore (民间传说). They display figurines of Samurai Warriors in their homes to symbolize strength and bravery. Children enjoy sticky rice cakes in Quercus dentata leaves and participate in events around the country like traditional Japanese plays. India Children’s Day is celebrated on November14 every year. This date marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of independent India. Nehru was very fond of children and so, to honor him and acknowledge his work for children, the 14th of every November is set as Children’s Day. On this occasion, children of India usually get gifts from their parents. Many schools allow students to attend their classes in colored dresses. Special programs are held by the children themselves. Many schools hold activities such as camping trips or free movies on Children’s Day to allow students to have fun. They often celebrate by having a picnic in the park or by going to an amusement park, the cinema, or the zoo.”(放学后,父母通常会带孩子出去玩。 根据Japan部分的“The Japanese people celebrate Children’s Day on the fifth day of the fifth month every year.”(日本人每年五月的第五天庆祝儿童节。) 通读全文,尤其是根据文章第一段中的“Children’s Day is celebrated by different countries on different days of the year. A。 C Mushrooms have been used by ancient humans for thousands of years, but archaeologists have only just uncovered their significant role in shaping civilisation. Seventy-five years ago, in a wetland in Yorkshire, UK, archaeologists found the perfectly preserved remains of dozens of 11, 000-year-old mushrooms. Carefully cut and intentionally burned, it is thought that they were used by hunter-gatherers as tinder on their travels, enabling them to stay warm and cook food while on the move. The discovery was so unlikely because fungi (菌类) are composed mostly of water, meaning they rapidly rot and disappear, and so are almost totally absent from the fossil (化石) record. As such, the unexpected ways that mushrooms helped our ancient ancestors survive have long remained secret, seemingly lost to time. But in the past few years, new tools have finally allowed us to identify fungal DNA and micro-residues in the mouths, utensils and clothing of prehistoric humans. Until a decade ago, prehistoric diets were thought to consist only of meat and plants, excluding mushrooms. Yet rooted views about ancient daily choices are quietly shifting. In 2017, Weyrich’s team analysed the DNA in Palaeolithic dental plaque. They revealed that a group of Neanderthals in what is now Belgium supplemented their meaty meals with grey shag mushrooms, while those from a cave in northern Spain dined on split gill mushrooms. One member of the Spanish group, who lived around 48,000 years ago, even chewed on grasses with penicillin fungi, and may have deliberately sought out this antibiotic fungus to reduce dental pain. These breakthroughs are highlighting how a hidden fungal kingdom fed, healed and warmed our Stone Age ancestors, with recent discoveries even illustrating how fungi helped hold early farming communities together, paving the way for the civilisation we live in today. “By revealing the invisible evidence in the archaeological record, we now see how fungal connections helped the earliest Neolithic communities to develop an understanding of their land and their society,” says Li Liu at Stanford University in California. 43.What does the underlined word “tinder” in paragraph 2 probably refer to? A.A water-heater. B.A fire starter. C.An ancient cooker. D.An easy-to-use cutter. 44.Why was fungi’s role in civilisation unknown? A.They formed special fossils. B.They grow only in wetlands. C.They are hard to preserve long. D.They were burned out intentionally. 45.Why is one member of the Spanish group mentioned in paragraph 4? A.To illustrate the updated view. B.To make a scientific prediction. C.To confirm the previous thought. D.To introduce a new research method. 46.What may Li Liu most likely agree with? A.Mushrooms built the modern civilization. B.Fungi glued early farming groups together. C.Old methods were widely used in archaeology. D.Ancient people had a deep understanding of fungi. 根据第二段中“it is thought that they were used by hunter-gatherers as tinder on their travels, enabling them to stay warm and cook food while on the move(据认为,它们被狩猎采集者在旅途中用作tinder,使他们在移动时能够保暖和做饭)”可知,tinder是用来生火取暖和做饭的,即引火物。 44. 根据第三段中“The discovery was so unlikely because fungi (菌类) are composed mostly of water, meaning they rapidly rot and disappear, and so are almost totally absent from the fossil (化石) record.(这一发现之所以极不可能,是因为菌类主要由水组成,这意味着它们会迅速腐烂消失,因此几乎完全不存在于化石记录中)”可知,真菌难以长期保存,所以它们在文明中的作用长期不为人知。 45. 根据第四段中“Until a decade ago, prehistoric diets were thought to consist only of meat and plants, excluding mushrooms. Yet rooted views about ancient daily choices are quietly shifting.(十年前,人们还认为史前人类的饮食只有肉类和植物,并不包含蘑菇。如今这类关于古人日常饮食的固有观念正悄然发生转变)”和“One member of the Spanish group, who lived around 48,000 years ago, even chewed on grasses with penicillin fungi, and may have deliberately sought out this antibiotic fungus to reduce dental pain.(其中一名生活在约4.8万年前的西班牙古人类,甚至啃食过带有青霉素菌类的草本植物,他或许是特意寻找这种具备抗菌作用的菌类来缓解牙痛)”可知,此处是用具体例子来说明史前人类的饮食不仅包括肉和植物,还包括蘑菇,这是为了说明更新后的观点。 46. 根据最后一段中“recent discoveries even illustrating how fungi helped hold early farming communities together, paving the way for the civilisation we live in today. “By revealing the invisible evidence in the archaeological record, we now see how fungal connections helped the earliest Neolithic communities to develop an understanding of their land and their society,” says Li Liu at Stanford University in California.(近期发现还证实,菌类助力早期农耕社群凝聚发展,为如今人类文明的形成奠定了基础。 Section C Directions: Read the following passages. Testing chocolate ‘geometry’ to make it tastier Trick or treat! With Halloween around the corner, kids across the country are about to collect bags full of candy — including heaps of chocolate. Meanwhile, a group of researchers in the Netherlands has been experimenting with a method to make chocolate more of a “treat” than ever. 47 “An aspect that I particularly like is its brittleness (脆性), and what it does when it breaks,” says researcher Corentin Raine, who teaches physics at the University of Amsterdam. To optimize how it feels in the mouth, “we gave geometry to chocolate,” he says, “that would then change the way it breaks.” Giving it “geometry” involved using a 3D printer to layer 72 percent dark chocolate in various ways. Rather than creating a flat, solid chunk, the machine printed it into a simple S-shape, or zigzagged super thin layers back-and-forth several times, or swirled it into increasingly complicated spirals. 48 The researchers asked: “How crunchy was it?” “How easy was it to bite?” “How would you rate the overall experience?” The crunchiest — while remaining easy to bite — was the chocolate swirled into fairly complicated spirals. It was also the top tasting experience. “More crunchiness meant that people tended to like it more,” Raine says. The researchers also used a machine to crack the various shapes and see which was the most brittle. Plus, they recorded the sounds of the cracking. 49 The general winner remained that spiral. Whether chocolate will soon be made differently thanks to this research, “it’s too early to say,” Raine says. He is working with a couple of organizations to see how it might be applied. He’s also involved in putting together a team to look at the physics of how things crack in materials other than chocolate — ones that might be used in vehicles, for example, to make them less dangerous when they crash. 50 It could also make those Halloween treats even more tasty. A.Chocolate is a beloved treat worldwide for its delicious taste and geometrical designs. B.That’s because a pleasurable eating experience doesn’t only take place in the mouth, but can be affected by the noises in your skull. C.The resulting pieces were fed to 10 eager volunteers. D.Understanding fractures could make life safer — in cars or airplanes or when wearing helmets. E.When you get an impact of some form, you know something is going to break. F.While chocolate is delicious for many reasons, this study focused on how it cracks when it is bitten. 由下文“An aspect that I particularly like is its brittleness (脆性), and what it does when it breaks(我特别喜欢的一点是它的脆性以及碎裂时的状态)”可知,后文围绕巧克力被咬碎、碎裂的特性展开研究。F选项“While chocolate is delicious for many reasons, this study focused on how it cracks when it is bitten(巧克力美味的原因有很多,但这项研究聚焦于它被咬时的碎裂方式)”引出下文研究主题,衔接自然。 48.上文“Rather than creating a flat, solid chunk, the machine printed it into a simple S-shape, or zigzagged super thin layers back-and-forth several times, or swirled it into increasingly complicated spirals.(这台机器并未打印出扁平实心的块状结构,而是将其打印成简易 S 形、锯齿形、螺旋形。)”指出机器打印出S形、锯齿形、螺旋形等不同造型的巧克力,并且根据后文“The researchers asked: ‘How crunchy was it?’ ‘How easy was it to bite?’(研究人员询问:‘它有多脆?’‘咬起来多容易?’‘您如何评价整体体验?’)” C选项“The resulting pieces were fed to 10 eager volunteers(成品巧克力被分给10名热心志愿者品尝)”承接造型制作,引出后续口感评价,符合语境。 49.由上文“The researchers also used a machine to crack the various shapes and see which was the most brittle. Plus, they recorded the sounds of the cracking.(研究人员还用机器压裂各种形状,看哪种最脆。 B选项“That’s because a pleasurable eating experience doesn’t only take place in the mouth, but can be affected by the noises in your skull(这是因为愉悦的食用体验不仅来自口中触感,还会受颅内声响影响)”解释了录制碎裂声音的缘由,逻辑通顺。 50.由上文“He is working with a couple of organizations to see how it might be applied. He’s also involved in putting together a team to look at the physics of how things crack in materials other than chocolate — ones that might be used in vehicles, for example, to make them less dangerous when they crash.(他正与几家机构合作,研究这项技术的应用可行性。 以及后文“It could also make those Halloween treats even more tasty(也能让万圣节糖果更美味)”可知,设空处应承接材料碎裂研究在交通领域的安全应用。D选项“Understanding fractures could make life safer — in cars or airplanes or when wearing helmets(了解碎裂原理能提升汽车、飞机、头盔等方面的安全系数)”衔接前文交通领域应用,与后文并列递进。 III. The Future of “Thinking” AI AI companies often describe their reasoning agents as “thinking” machines. That can be misleading. These agents do perform impressive tasks. But they can suffer some of the same drawbacks. They may produce biased content, for instance. When an agent uses a model to perform a complex task on its own, a bunch of small problems can also snowball into bigger ones. And that worries Ghosh. He co-authored a paper on arXiv in February that sums it up: Fully autonomous AI agents should not be developed. Being “fully autonomous,” means being able to act entirely on its own. DeepSeek-R1 and similar bots aren’t fully autonomous yet. They can do more complex tasks than chatbots. Yet a real person still guides the process. And Ghosh thinks that’s essential. “I don’t think these systems are nearly as reliable and as accountable as humans,” he says. But things are moving quickly. In late February, the robot company Figure AI announced a new AI model called Helix. Robots that use this model are better at reasoning. In early March, a different Chinese company, named Monica, announced a brand new agent named Manus. It’s built atop a handful of different AI models. It’s also close to fully autonomous. When you give it a task, it decides on its own how it should solve it. Then it starts taking actions, such as searching online, writing code, creating charts and more. This all happens (in the cloud) while you wait. Manus then alerts you when its task is done. And consider this: Companies like DeepSeek, Monica and OpenAI can now use their agents to come up with ideas on how to build better reasoning models. Harris, of Last Week in AI, is confident that this is already happening. How well they will work remains to be seen. Clearly, it’s an exciting time for AI innovation. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: AI reasoning agents, though advanced, are not fully autonomous and can have biases or errors. Reading Comprehension (21 – 35题,每题1分;36 – 50题,每题2分;共45分) Section A Directions: For each blank in the following passage there are four words or phrases marked A, B, C and D. 21.A.situation B.disorder C.framework D.platform 22.A.figure B.role C.sign D.location 23.A.upgraded B.overlooked C.confirmed D.registered 24.A.value B.size C.symbol D.clue 25.A.information B.analysis C.sample D.card 26.A.compares B.protects C.balances D.exchanges 27.A.experimental B.virtual C.durable D.traditional 28.A.strong B.initial C.instant D.unusual 29.A.supported B.examined C.equipped D.defended 30.A.picking up B.turning down C.making for D.taking over 31.A.classifying B.experiencing C.measuring D.controlling 32.A.research B.solution C.section D.device 33.A.useless B.advanced C.humble D.remote 34.A.innovations B.suspicions C.evaluations D.conclusions 35.A.However B.Therefore C.Besides D.Otherwise Section B Directions: Read the following three passages. Choose the one that fits best according to the information given in the passage you have just read. A In 2008, at the age of 27, Mike suffered a life - changing injury in a snowmobile accident. B For many people, childhood is the best time of their lives. New Zealand In New Zealand, Children’s Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of March each year. Fun community events are held throughout the country and include games, carnival, food, traditional haka dancing, and more. 40.What do Chinese do on Children’s Day? A.Pupils go to school as usual B.The celebration end at school. C.Parents usually take children out to play D.Many tourist attractions have no discounts 41.When is the Children’s Day in Japan? A.June 1st B.May 5th C.November14 D.The first Sunday of March 42.Where can you probably find the passage? A.Tourist brochure B.Book review C.Science report D.News report C Mushrooms have been used by ancient humans for thousands of years, but archaeologists have only just uncovered their significant role in shaping civilisation. Section C Directions: Read the following passages. Fill in each blank with a proper sentence given in the box. Each sentence can be used only once. Note that there are two more sentences than you need. III. Summary Writing (10分) Directions: Read the following passage. Summarize the main idea and the main point(s) of the passage in no more than 60 words. Use your own words as far as possible. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ IV. 21.A.situation B.disorder C.framework D.platform 22.A.figure B.role C.sign D.location 23.A.upgraded B.overlooked C.confirmed D.registered 24.A.value B.size C.symbol D.clue 25.A.information B.analysis C.sample D.card 26.A.compares B.protects C.balances D.exchanges 27.A.experimental B.virtual C.durable D.traditional 28.A.strong B.initial C.instant D.unusual 29.A.supported B.examined C.equipped D.defended 30.A.picking up B.turning down C.making for D.taking over 31.A.classifying B.experiencing C.measuring D.controlling 32.A.research B.solution C.section D.device 33.A.useless B.advanced C.humble D.remote 34.A.innovations B.suspicions C.evaluations D.conclusions 35.A.However B.Therefore C.Besides D.Otherwise Section B Directions: Read the following three passages. Each passage is followed by several questions or unfinished statements. For each of them there are four choices marked A, B, C and D. Choose the one that fits best according to the information given in the passage you have just read. A In 2008, at the age of 27, Mike suffered a life - changing injury in a snowmobile accident. B For many people, childhood is the best time of their lives. Section C Directions: Read the following passages. Fill in each blank with a proper sentence given in the box. Each sentence can be used only once. Note that there are two more sentences than you need. III. Summary Writing (10分) Directions: Read the following passage. Summarize the main idea and the main point(s) of the passage in no more than 60 words. Use your own words as far as possible. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ IV.
