Liu Yang, China’s first female astronaut, reportedly, has touched the hearts of millions with a letter to her two children that was made public after she set off into space for the second time earlier this month.
“You’re my strongest armor (盔甲) and soft spot. I didn’t allow you to see me off at the launch site because I was afraid that I would burst into tears,” Liu wrote in the letter to her daughter, 8, and son, 6, just days before being launched into space for the second time on June 5 in the Shenzhou-14 mission.
Liu, then 43, became China’s first female astronaut in 2012, when she spent 13 days in space during the Shenzhou-9 mission . During the Shenzhou-14 mission, she stayed at the Tiangong space station for six months, working with two male colleagues to complete the construction of the station.
Many people said that Liu’s words allowed them to see that a national hero is also an ordinary mother, and they wished for her safe return. “Liu fully expressed her love for her children in the letter. “It brought tears to my eyes,” commented one netizen on Sina Weibo, China’s Twitter-like micro-blogging platform.
“I feel more confident and relaxed,” Liu told the media ahead of the launch of the Shenzhou-14 mission. “When I was about to return to the orbital module during the Shenzhou-9 mission, I stopped and turned around to salute (致敬) the experimental space station module that I stayed in. At that moment, I told myself that I would come back to space in the near future. I didn’t expect the ‘near future’ to be a decade long,” Liu said.
In the letter, she encouraged her children not to be afraid of failure while pursuing their dreams. Liu added that she felt sorry she could not be there for her son on his first day at primary school. “Although I can not be with you, I won’t love you any less,” she wrote in the letter. “My babies, if you miss me, just look up into the starry sky. Every time you see the stars twinkle, it’s because I’m saying ‘I love you’.”
24. What is the common reason for Liu’s and netizens’t ears?

Among the world's most mysterious artworks stands The Lute Player (《鲁特琴演奏者》), painted by the Italian artist Caravaggio. There are three very similar paintings, and most people cannot tell which one is the artist's original(原作).
To art experts, there has been broad agreement that the paintings held by Russia's Hermitage Museum and France's Wildenstein Collection were created by the artist, while the one at Britain's Badminton House is only a copy.
But artificial intelligence (AI) disagreed. In September 2025, Swiss AI company Art Recognition said there's an almost 86 percent chance that Badminton House's painting is real, while Wildenstein's one is likely a copy.
This event shows AI's new role in deciding whether an artwork is real. In the past, human experts identified real artworks from copies using their deep knowledge of artists and modern technologies such as infrared imaging(红外成像).Today, AI might serve as another helpful tool for experts. The technology can study small details from images of artworks. It then compares these features with real works by the same artist to find differences that experts and other scientific methods might miss.
However, many experts don't fully trust AI to identify real art. They pointed out that AI can give results without explaining how it reached them. Also, the technology is only as good as the data it's trained on, meaning both the number and quality of painting images can affect its accuracy(准确性).The Art Newspaper reported that proper AI training can require thousands of images, but few artists have produced that many works. Artists may also change their styles suddenly, so AI that only looks for fixed patterns can easily make mistakes.
As art is subjective, neither AI nor humans can be completely certain about their judgments(判断).Currently, AI provides only the likelihood of a painting being created by a particular artist, so it shouldn't be the only method used for authentication. Instead, it should be used together with human knowledge and scientific testing to reach the most reliable results. "I strongly believe that the future of art authentication lies in the collaboration(协作)between AI and experts," Art Recognition's CEO Carina Popovici told ARTnews.
28. How does the author introduce the topic of the text?
A. By comparing three museums. B. By explaining an art theory.
C. By describing a mystery. D. By introducing a famous artist.
29. What advantage does AI have over human experts in art authentication?
A. It can notice details that humans might ignore. B. It can analyze different art styles quickly.
C. It can clearly explain its reasoning process. D. It works well when artists change their styles.
30. What does paragraph 5 mainly talk about?
A. The effects of changes in artists' styles B. The roles of experts in AI authentication.
C. The importance of training data for AI. D. The limitations of AI in art authentication.
31. What is Carina Popovici's opinion of AI's role in art authentication?
A. AI may someday replace human experts. B. AI can be a great help to human experts.
C. AI should be used to give final judgment. D. AI is not as reliable as scientific testing.

Earthquakes are among the most mysterious and terrifying natural disasters. While we can sometimes predict major ones, others strike without warning, devastating cities and causing fires, landslides and tsunamis. With climate change leading to increased wildfires and, hurricanes, could it also make earthquakes more common?
The most dangerous earthquakes are tectonic(地壳构造的)earthquakes, caused by the movement of Earth's tectonic plates. These plates shift about 1.5 centimeters per year due to internal heat, building pressure until they suddenly move, which releases energy and causes earthquakes.
Unlike other disasters, it's almost impossible to predict when earthquakes will happen, making planned evacuations(疏散)next to impossible.
Unfortunately, climate change could make quakes happen closer together and with more intensity, experts told Live Science. With global warming, glaciers are melting at an increased rate. When melted glacier water flows off land and into the sea, the land that used to sit underneath it rises, said John Cassidy, an earthquake seismologist at the Geologidal Survey of Canada and the University of Victoria.
More concerning than glacial-melt earthquakes are those that could be caused by an increase in sea level. As sea levels rise, pressure underwater on the seafloor also goes up, said Marco Bohnhoff, a geophysicist at GFZ Helmholtz Centre Potsdam and Free University Berlin in Germany. As water pressure spikes, the pressure on fault(断层) lines near the coast will also increase.
Even if we stopped using greenhouse gases now, it would take up to 1000 years for sea level rise to stop, Bohnhoff added. He predicts that over that time, the gaps between big coastal earthquakes will become shorter.
Cassidy is uncertain if sea level rise will cause giant quakes to happen faster within our lifetimes. He emphasized that climate change will make them more dangerous. Tsunamis will reach farther inland, and warmer oceans will increase rainfall, raising the risk of earthquake-induced landslides. Rainfall will also make earthquake shaking worse in wet ground. However, Cassidy notes there's still much to figure out
It's an important topic, and one that I'm sure we'll see a lot of information coming out on in the coming months and years,"he said."But no matter what we've discovered, it's not good news."
32.What does the article tell us about tectonic earthquakes?
A. They are easier to predict than others.
B. They happen mostly near coastal areas.
C.They result from the shifting of Earth's plates.
D. They rarely lead to other natural disasters.
33. What does the underlined word it in paragraph 4 refer to?
A. The land B. The glaciers C. The quakes D. The sea
34.What dose Bohnhoff imply?
A Human actions have long-term effects.
B. Coastal areas will be safer over time.
C. Earthquakes will become more predictable.
D.Sea level rise will eventually stabilize.
35. What is Cassidy's attitude toward the future impact of climate change on earthquakes?
A. Hopeful. B. Concerned. C. Uncaring. D. Skeptical.

I looked up from my desk to see the teacher writing on the board: "Battle of the Books!"She smiled and said,"This time it's teamwork. You're going to be in teams of two, and set a reading goal. Every team that meets their goal by the end of the month will get a prize!" The lunch bell sounded before she could explain any more rules.
As I gathered my things, Liya passed my desk and said, "Teammates?" Since Liya and I shared the same interest in graphic novel(漫画小说),and we took Hindi language class together, we teamed up automatically. I was both relieved and excited to have my team. Then we got to the cafeteria and quickly threw out a bunch of ideas of what to do at our table.
I looked to our third friend Kash, with whom the three of us always do stuff together. "Kash, do you have ideas for us?""Why would I give you guys ideas?"he said gloomily(阴沉地)."I'Il save that for my team...whoever that is. Now I see how I rank in the friendship line-up." Kash replied in an angry tone.
I knew he was mad for a reason. If I were him, not only would I think that I ranked last in that group, but I'd also be panicking about what team I could join. But, now, I was on the inside and Kash wasn't. I felt like the only way to fix this would be three people on a team. So, as the teacher walked by our table, I asked for her permission. What surprised me was that she had intended to draw names to assign random groups, but didn't get a chance to say it before lunch.
Awkward and frustrated, we were stuck in this dilemma. Having first teamed up without Kash didn't mean we didn't like him. I knew we especially I---wouldn't be able to enjoy any prize if our friend felt bad about being left out. So, I decided to do something to make it up to him and convince Kash he was an equal friend.
注意
1.续写词数应为150左右;

W: How can you afford the rent?
M: I’ve been employed by a new company.
Text 2
W: Bradley, some audience said your acting in the movie is barely satisfactory. So what do you think of your performance?
M: I’m not quite satisfied with it either. But it’s just my first movie. I’m sure I’ll do better next time.
Text 3
M: I heard there will be a power cut tonight.
W: Don’t worry. I’ve already bought some candles.
M: So when will it begin?
W: It’ll begin at 7:00 pm and will last for three hours.
Text 4
W: Did you have a good time during your camping?
M: Just so-so. Phoebe had been called away by her boss before we set out. Jenny felt sick all the way. I had to send her to Martin’s to give her a physical checkup.
W: Oh! Maybe she got carsick.
Text 5
M: I was thinking about ordering some takeout. Do you want to order a personal dish or share something bigger?
W: I’ll just get a piece of beef and some vegetables. I had a late lunch, so I don’t have much of an appetite right now.
Text 6
W: It’s Children’s Day. Will we stay at home all day? Why don’t we go to the amusement park?
M: Oh, there’s always too much noise.
W: What about the circus?
M: Circus? Is it still in town?
W: Yes, and you promised our son you’d take him there before it leaves.
M: The circus will be so crowded today. What about going to the cinema? Peter likes watching movies.
W: That sounds good.
Text 7
W: The water supply of our building has been cut off. I haven’t stored any water for cooking today.
M: Then are you up for a restaurant meal tonight?
W: I guess we have no choice but to eat out. We could go to the Mexican restaurant around the corner of our street.
M: I’d like to try something different this time.
W: Then we can go to the Italian restaurant or the French restaurant.
M: I prefer the latter.
W: It’s fine with me. The restaurant is a bit far. Will we drive or take a taxi there?
M: Well, we’ve been a couch potato recently. I would rather ride shared bikes all the way there.

Text 8
W: Tom, what were you watching just now?
M: I was watching a TV series Heartland. It’s about a family who lives on a ranch with horses and cattle.
W: Why did you watch such a series? It must be very boring.
M: Well, it may sound boring to you, but I really love watching it. Though its story is neither exciting nor touching, it tells about the life that I truly want to live.
W: You mean you want to live a simple and peaceful life?
M: Yes. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about living in the countryside like my grandparents. I can keep many animals and plants and then get safe, healthy food there. I can even slow my pace in the busy world, looking at the scenery around me and enjoying myself.
W: So do you want to move to the countryside?
M: Yes. If you get tired of the city life someday, why not experience it for yourself?
W: Well, I grew up here. Life here is so much more exciting.
Text 9
W: Dave, what about going to Maya Bay in Thailand for a holiday this year? The magazine says it’s a very famous beach in the country.
M: I know that beach. It made headlines in 1999 when some people arrived there to film the famous Hollywood movie The Beach. Since then, tourists have flooded in this beach with as many as 4,000 visitors arriving on boats every day.
W: That’s really hard to believe.
M: Yes. Sadly, tourism ruined the natural life there. That is why the Thai government closed the beach to tourists for about four years.
W: I didn’t know it was closed for about four years. So when did it reopen?
M: It reopened in January, 2022. Now there’s a limit of 300 visitors per day.
W: Well, I think it’s a good decision.
M: I agree. Scientists there believe that the beach is a natural resource they have to preserve. Actually there’re many other great beaches in Thailand. We don’t have to visit that one.
W: You’re right. But I don’t know any other beaches.
M: It’s easy. Let’s search for some information on websites and then make a decision.
W: Good idea.

F 37. E 38. B 39. G 40. A
What can the Merriam-Webster app help English learners do? A. Find right words to speak perfect English.(文中未提及“说完美英语”,排除)B. Look for a word when unsure about its spelling.(和原文线索完全匹配,正确)C. Search for a word even without an internet connection.(离线功能是Oxford Dictionary的特点,排除)。选项D:Learn difficult words by practicing more and reviewing.
Which dictionary app provides English learners with simple definitions for learning? A. Merriam-Webster(侧重语音搜索、发音例句,排除)。B. Oxford Dictionary of English(侧重权威释义、离线功能,排除)。C. Vocabulary.com(符合“简单易懂的释义”这一特点,正确)。D. FluentU(侧重视频学习,不是词典APP,排除)答案:C
What's the main purpose of this passage? A. To explain how to use a dictionary app.(文中未讲解使用方法,排除)B. To introduce the content of vocabulary.(不是介绍词汇本身,排除)C. To give helpful tips on English learning.(不是通用学习技巧,排除)D. To suggest some useful dictionary apps.(符合文章主旨,正确)答案:D
根据第二段“You’re my strongest armor (盔甲) and soft spot. I didn’t allow you to see me off at the launch site because I was afraid that I would burst into tears (你们是我最坚强的盔甲,也是我最柔软的地方。我不让你们去发射场为我送行,因为我怕我会哭出来)”以及第四段中的“Liu fully expressed her love for her children in the letter. It brought tears to my eyes(刘在信中充分表达了她对孩子们的爱,这让我热泪盈眶)”可知,使刘洋和网友流泪的主要原因是刘洋对她孩子的深深的爱。故选C。
根据第五段““I feel more confident and relaxed,” Liu told the media ahead of the launch of the Shenzhou-14 mission.(在神舟十四号任务发射前,刘洋告诉媒体:‘我感到更加自信和放松。’)” 故选A。
根据最后一段“In the letter, she encouraged her children not to be afraid of failure while pursuing their dreams. Liu added that she felt sorry she could not be there for her son on his first day at primary school.(在信中,她鼓励自己的孩子们在追求梦想的过程中不要害怕失败。刘女士还表示,她很遗憾自己无法在儿子上小学的第一天陪伴在他身边)”可知,刘洋写这封信的目的是鼓励孩子们尝试。故选A。
根据第一段“Liu Yang, China’s first female astronaut, reportedly, has touched the hearts of millions with a letter to her two children that was made public after she set off into space for the second time earlier this month.(据报道,中国首位女宇航员刘洋在本月早些时候第二次升空后,给两个孩子写了一封信,这封信被公之于众,感动了数百万人的心)”推知,文章最有可能出自新闻报道。故选D。
C篇: 28. C. 文章开篇提到意大利画家卡拉瓦乔的《鲁特琴演奏者》有三幅极为相似的画作,"most people cannot tell which one is the artist's original",这是一个关于真伪的谜团。
29. A.根据文章第四段,AI技术"can study small details from images of artworks"(能够研究艺术品图像中的微小细节),然后"compares these features with real works by the same artist to find differences that experts and other scientific methods might miss"(将这些特征与同一艺术家的真迹进行比较,以发现专家和其他科学方法可能遗漏的差异)。
I strongly believe that the future of art authentication lies in the collaboration between AI and experts"。
C。由第二段中“… caused by the movement of Earth’s tectonic plates.”
34. A。由第六段中“Even if we stopped using greenhouse gases now, it would take up to 1,000 years for sea level rise to stop”可知,Bohnhoff认为即使人类现在不再使用温室气体,海平面依然直到1,000年后才会停止上升,言外之意是人类的行为有长期影响。
35. B。由最后一段中“But no matter what we’ve discovered, it’s not good news.”
36.根据前文“Even if you’re the most successful person, you can always stand to learn from other people. (即使你是最成功的人,你也总能从别人身上学到东西。)”以及后文“This can help you. If you’d like to start learning from your others, read these helpful tips to get started. (这对你会有帮助。如果你想开始向别人学习,读读这些实用的建议吧。)”中的This可知,此空应说明从别人身上能学到东西的原因,即他人能提供有价值的内容,F选项“People with more experience or different perspectives offer great advice. (更有经验或拥有不同视角的人能给出很棒的建议。)”正是对这一原因的阐释,且为后文的This所指代,符合语境。故选F项。
37.根据前文“You can learn from everyone, not just your peers (同辈). (你可以向所有人学习,而不仅仅是你的同辈。)”以及后文“It doesn’t mean you can’t learn something from him! Try to be open to learning from everyone, not just people who are on your level. (这并不意味着你不能从他身上学到东西!试着敞开心扉向所有人学习,而不仅仅是和你水平相当的人。)”中的him可知,此空应举一个非同辈、非同等水平的人的例子,E选项“Maybe you will meet the new guy who’s less experienced than you. (也许你会遇到一个比你经验更少的新人。)”中的the new guy who’s less experienced than you正是这样的例子,且与后文的him相呼应,符合语境。故选E项。
38.根据本段小标题“Watch the people around you (留意你身边的人)”以及后文“You don’t have to stalk (跟踪) anyone, but take note of any habits that work for him. (你不必跟踪任何人,但要留意那些对他有用的习惯。)”可知,此空应具体说明“留意身边的人”的做法,B选项“Simply observe and stay aware of what they do. (只需观察并留意他们的所作所为。)”贴合小标题的要求,且与后文的具体做法相衔接,符合语境。故选B项。
39.根据本段小标题“Welcome constructive criticism (接受建设性的批评)”以及前文“It’s easy to feel defensive or on guard, but most people are just trying to help you out with their comments. (人很容易产生戒备心理,但大多数人只是想通过他们的评价帮你一把。)”以及后文“For example, a classmate might tell you that you need to dedicate more study time. (例如,一个同学可能会告诉你,你需要投入更多的学习时间。)”可知,此空应说明建设性批评的作用,G选项“Constructive criticism can help you improve and perfect your own techniques. (建设性的批评能帮助你改进并完善自己的方法。)”紧扣小标题的核心,且衔接后文的举例说明,符合语境。故选G项。
40.根据前文“Learning from each other goes both ways. Your peers will be more likely to offer advice and insight if you do the same for them. If you notice that someone is struggling, offer your handy tips or tell him what works for you. Chances are that they’ll have some advice to trade back. (相互学习是双向的。如果你为同龄人提供建议和见解,他们也更有可能为你这样做。如果你注意到有人遇到了困难,给他提供你的实用技巧,或者告诉他你觉得有效的方法。很可能他们也会回赠你一些建议。)”可知,前文讲述了相互帮助、双向学习的过程,此空应对这一行为的结果进行总结,A选项“It will be beneficial to both of you. (这会让你们双方都受益。)”精准总结了双向学习、彼此帮助的结果,符合语境。故选A项。

As the population ages, the need for elderly care is increasing. That's why I designed this intelligent robot, to provide them with daily care, companionship and assistance.
This robot has many useful functions. It can remind the elderly to take medicine on time, monitor their health data like blood pressure, and call for help in emergencies. Besides, it can chat with them, tell stories, play their favorite music to relieve their loneliness, and even help with simple household chores such as cleaning and cooking, lightening their burden.
I hope this robot can become a warm and reliable friend for the elderly, bringing them more warmth and convenience, making their lives safer, more colorful and comfortable.

Paragraph 1:
That night, I was struck by an idea as I read a graphic novel that all three of us liked. Thrilled and inspired, I sprang in front of my desk, racked my brains and started drawing a few scenes of three of us giggling, chattering and enjoying each other's company like we usually did. On the last page, I wrote,"Dear Kash, you are not the one left behind. Liya and I are so sorry about the way we messed things up." Pierced to the heart with guilt, I tucked the paintings into an envelope with care, hoping this would be an icebreaker
Paragraph 2:
The next day, I handed my pages of apology to Kash. He took them, looking surprised at first sight After he read them, an expression of intense joy illuminated his eyes. Blushing, I broke the silence, "I'm sorry, dude. We should have talked to you." With her eyes fixed on the floor, Liya came over and apologized in a low voice,"You mean a lot to us." Hearing her words, Kash shook his head and beamed,"I was way too sensitive." We exchanged a knowing smile, realizing that sincerity, trust and communication were always the key to clearing up the misunderstanding between friends.(175)
