(2026·安徽安庆·二模)
Dear Patrick,
I often feel stressed about how I look and have always been afraid of taking photos of myself. I want to take more photos so I can look back on this time in my life when I’m older. What should I do?
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
I know how you feel. I have felt worried about how I look, too. A few years ago, after I started working in an office, I put on some weight. I began to dislike looking in the mirror. I did not like taking photos of myself. I even felt a sense of shame when going out or swimming in public. But later, I learned some ways to deal with these feelings.
First, try to care more about how you feel than how you look. Do small things that make you happy. You can exercise, eat healthy food or wear clothes you like. These small steps can help you feel better about yourself, little by little.
Next, think of photos as memories, not judgments. A photo keeps a moment from your life. It shows who you were with, where you went and how you felt. When you look at these photos in the future, the memories will be more important than your looks.
You do not need to share every photo. Keep some just for yourself. Each photo shows your courage. Confidence grows slowly, and every step matters.
Patrick
1.What problem does Sarah have?
A.She has put on some weight. B.She is not good at taking photos.
C.She worries about her appearance. D.She is afraid of growing older.
2.How did Patrick like swimming in public a few years ago?

3.What advice does Patrick give Sarah?
A.Do not often look in the mirror. B.Wear proper clothes to look better.

Breaking news! The Xixia Imperial Tombs (西夏陵) in China have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List (世界遗产名录). It shows their great cultural and historical value to the world.
Located about 30 km to the west of Yinchuan, Ningxia, the tombs include 9 imperial mausoleums (帝王陵) and over 270 smaller ones. Though time has damaged some buildings, the special mounds still stand. People call them the “Oriental Pyramids” for their great size and shape.
The Xixia Empire was an important civilization on the ancient Silk Road with its own writing and rich culture. Later it was defeated by the Mongols. Most records outside the tombs were lost, so these tombs are highly precious (珍贵的).

A.To the east of Yinchuan. B.To the west of Yinchuan.
C.Near the ancient Silk Road. D.In the capital of China.

D.Because they have a long history of 1,000 years.
3.Where can we most probably read the text?

Passage 4
(2026·安徽合肥·二模)
When I use AI apps like Doubao or DeepSeek, they quickly give me the answers I need. Their language is usually clear and organized. Because of this, I sometimes feel that AI is like a calm man.
Also, in the field of AI, many engineers and computer scientists are men. When I think about them working behind the screen, I sometimes feel that AI might be male (男性).
Gong Ruliang, 15, China
At first, I thought AI was female because it seems kind and patient. But later I began to think again. Are these ideas just stereotypes (刻板印象)? Being gentle or patient does not only belong to women.
Then I realized that AI may not have a gender (性别) at all. Maybe we can see it simply as something helpful, not as “he” or “she”.
Mia, 15, Thailand
When AI gives clear instructions, people say it sounds like a strict dad. When it is patient and caring, they say it feels like a kind mom. But maybe AI is more like a mirror. It shows the way we speak to it. If you are serious, it becomes serious. If you joke, it may sound playful.
So is AI male or female (女性)? Maybe the better question is why we need it to be one at all.
Madjuni Percuku, 15, UK
1.Why does Gong Ruliang sometimes feel that AI might be male?
A.Many AI engineers are men. B.AI often tells funny stories.
C.AI likes talking with students. D.Many users are young men.
2.What do Mia and Madjuni both think about AI?
A.AI will soon think like humans.
B.AI should sound like a parent.
C.AI is mainly designed by women.
D.AI may not truly have a gender.
3.Where is this passage most likely from?
A.A teen opinion page. B.A science textbook.
C.A travel magazine. D.A computer guidebook.

Passage 5
A.Ashamed. B.Healthy. C.Important. D.Dangerous.
3.What advice does Patrick give Sarah?
A.Do not often look in the mirror. B.Wear proper clothes to look better.
C.Share every photo with courage. D.View photos as memories not judgments.
【答案】1.C 2.A 3.D
【知识点】青少年问题、应用文、意见/建议
【导语】本文主要介绍了Sarah因对外貌不自信而害怕拍照的烦恼,以及Patrick通过分享自身经历给出的积极建议,旨在引导读者正确看待自我并建立自信。
1.在信的开头Sarah提到:“I often feel stressed about how I look….”。这明确指出她的烦恼是由于对外貌感到焦虑。
2.Patrick在回信中描述自己几年前的状态时提到:“I even felt a sense of shame when going out or swimming in public.”。文中“sense of shame”一词直接反映了他当时在公共场合游泳时感到羞愧的心理。
3.Patrick在回信的建议部分提到:“Next, think of photos as memories, not judgments.”。这句话直接给出了Sarah应当将照片视为回忆而非他人的评判这一建议。
