This week’s hot topic is “Who’s the hero in your family?” Choose one and write about why?
My father is my role model. He works in a different city. He travels back to see me every weekend. I often worry that he may feel exhausted (力竭的) after a long week of hard work, but he always says that seeing me gives him great joy. He often cooks delicious meals for me. Sarah
My hero is my mother, a common subway engineer. Her work is the same every day, but she works hard and never complains (抱怨). She never uses big words, but guides my life through these small actions. When I find my homework difficult and want to give up, she brings me water and tells me to keep trying. When I make some silly mistakes, she doesn’t blame (责备) me but patiently points out the problems. She really sets an example for me.
Jenny
The hero in my heart is my dad. He is an engineer, and he enjoys studying. I always see him studying late at night. One time, I asked my dad why he stayed up so late. Recently, Michaela Benthaus, a 33-year-old German engineer, made history as the first wheelchair user to travel to space. Her dream-come-true journey took her beyond (在……之上) the clouds along with five other passengers, showing the world that anything is possible.
Seven years ago, a mountain bike accident changed Michaela’s life. She lost the ability to walk, but she never lost her dream of seeing the stars. Thanks to a company called Blue Origin, her dream finally came true.
As the rocket soared (升空) 105 km high, Michaela left her wheelchair on the ground. For the first time, she felt weightless. Inside the capsule (太空舱), she laughed with joy and even tried to turn upside down while looking at the Earth from above. “It was the coolest experience,” she said happily after landing.
The 10-minute flight took place in a special capsule called New Shepard. The company designed it to be accessible (可使用的) for everyone. To help Michaela, the company added a special board so she could move from the door to her seat. At the launch pad (发射台), a lift carried her to the top of the rocket.
Before this flight, Michaela believed space was only for “super healthy” people. She hoped her trip would prove to the world that people with disabilities belong in space, too. “I hope I’m only the start,” she said.

A scientist in Barcelona, Spain showed a new material on April 24. It looks like plastic but is much better for our planet.
Plastic pollution is a big problem around the world. Every year, 19 to 23 million tons of plastic waste end up in lakes, rivers and seas, according to the United Nations Environment Programme. This harms the health of wild animals as well as humans. Scientists have been trying to solve this problem for years.
To solve this problem, scientists have tried to find other materials to take the place of plastic. However, most of these materials do not work well in daily life after getting wet.
The Spanish study offers new hope. Scientists made the material from chitosan (壳聚糖). It is found widely in nature, such as mushrooms and seashells. Interestingly, the material becomes stronger when it gets wet—up to 50% stronger. This is because the scientists added a bit of nickel (镍), which allows water to become part of the material’s structure (结构).
The new material can also return to Earth without causing pollution, according to Biotech Spain. Unlike traditional plastics, it fully breaks down in nature. What’s more, the scientists used a zero-waste process. All the nickel that was not needed can be reused to make more of the material.
So next time you go shopping, which bag will you choose, plastic or the new material? You know the answer!
32. Why does the writer write paragraph 2?
A. To explain why plastic is useful.
B. To describe where plastic waste goes.
C. To show plastic pollution is a big problem.
D. To tell wild animals are in great danger.
33. Why can’t most new materials replace plastic?
A. They are too expensive to make.
B. They don’t work well when wet.
C. They are harmful to wild animals.
D. They are hard to find in nature.
34. What makes the new material stronger after getting wet?
A. Plastic. B. Chitosan. C. Water D. Nickel.
35. Where is the text most probably from?
A. A diary. B. A newspaper. C. A guidebook. D. A storybook.
【答案】32. C 33. B 34. D 35. B

It’s easy to forget, but you are the most important person in your world. Taking care of yourself is not selfish. It’s necessary for a happy life. When you feel good, everything in your life can get better, such as school, friends, and family.
Many people think they should always put others first. However, you can’t pour from an empty cup. By focusing on your health and feelings, you can feel better and help others more. Remember: putting yourself first helps you be a better friend to others.
Taking care of yourself means understanding your needs and setting limits. If something makes you feel drained and you have no energy left, it’s OK to say “no” and take a break. Find time for your hobbies, like drawing, playing outside, or reading. Let others know what you need clearly—like some quiet time, or help with a problem.
Pay attention to what you’re thinking and how you’re feeling. This helps you understand yourself better. If you’re sad or upset, that’s OK. Accept your feelings and don’t be hard on yourself. You can write about them in a diary or talk to someone, like a family member or teacher. Research shows that accepting your feelings can actually reduce stress and improve mental (心理) health.
When you put yourself first, you learn that you deserve (值得) love and care. This makes you stronger and helps you be a good friend to others. Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s the reason you can show up for the people who matter.
36. What may the writer agree about taking care of yourself?
A. It is selfish. B. It is necessary.
C. It’s a waste of time. D. It’s not a good idea.
37. What does “However, you can’t pour from an empty cup.” mean in Paragraph 2?
A. You should always put others first.
B. You must think more of others’ feelings.
C. You need to drink as much water as you can.
D. You can’t help others if you don’t take care of yourself.
38. What does the underlined word “drained” in paragraph 3 probably mean?
A. Bored. B. Angry. C. Tired. D. Surprised.
39. How can writing in a diary help you according to the text?
A. It helps you accept your feelings.
B. It improves your writing skills.
C. It makes you forget your problems.
D. It teaches you to be hard on yourself.
40. What is the best title for the text?
A. How to Be a Good Friend B. Why Self-Care Is Important
C. Ways to Set Limits in Life D. The Meaning of Happiness
【答案】36. B 37. D 38. C 39. A 40. B
【解析】
【导语】本文讲述了自我关爱的重要性,告诉人们好好照顾自己不是自私,照顾好自己的身心不仅能让自己更快乐,也能更好地帮助他人。
【36题详解】
根据第一段第二句“Taking care of yourself is not selfish. It’s necessary for a happy life.”可知,作者认为照顾自己是必要的。
【37题详解】
根据第二段上下文“Many people think they should always put others first. However, you can’t pour from an empty cup. By focusing on your health and feelings, you can feel better and help others more.”可知,这句话是一个比喻,意为如果自己不照顾好自己(杯子是空的),就无法给予他人帮助(倒出水)。
【38题详解】
根据第三段划线词后的语境“...and you have no energy left”可知,drained此处指精力耗尽、疲惫的。故Tired疲倦的,符合语境。
【39题详解】
根据第四段“Accept your feelings...You can write about them in a diary...Research shows that accepting your feelings can actually reduce stress...”
Do you think AI’s answers are always correct? The answer is “No”. Sometimes its answers may seem correct while they are actually wrong. Scientists call this “AI hallucination (幻觉)”.
Why does AI hallucinate? Scientists have found several reasons.
First, the information AI learns from may be wrong. Think of the internet as a huge library. AI learns by reading the “books” in it. Some of these “books” have mistakes, and AI copies them without knowing they are wrong.
Second, AI tries to guess when it doesn’t know the answer for sure. AI finds patterns in things and uses them to make guesses. However, for some questions, guessing is not possible. For example, in a class of 50 students, knowing the birthdays of 49 students does not help you guess the last one’s birthday. AI faces the same problem—some things cannot be known by guessing.
Third, AI developers don’t teach AI to say “I don’t know”. Why not? Because they worry fewer people will turn to AI for help if it often says “I don’t know”. Then how do they train AI? They give AI rewards (奖励) for giving an answer—even a wrong one, but no reward for saying “I don’t know”. That’s why AI would rather make up an answer than admit (承认) it doesn’t know.
Remember: AI is a useful tool, but it is not always right. So what can we do? Think about the three reasons above. You may find the answer.
41. What is “AI hallucination”?
_______________________________________________
42. Why are AI’s answers sometimes wrong according to paragraph 3?
_______________________________________________
43. What does AI do when it doesn’t know the answer for sure?
_______________________________________________
44. How do AI developers train AI not to say “I don’t know.”?
_______________________________________________
45. AI’s answers are not always correct. What should we do to deal with this problem?
_______________________________________________
【答案】41.
It refers to the situation where AI’s answers seem correct but are actually wrong.
42.
Because the information AI learns from may be wrong.
43.
It tries to guess.
44.
They give AI rewards for giving an answer but no reward for saying “I don’t know”.
45.
We should think about the three reasons above.

When the capsule returned, her wheelchair was waiting for her. “You should never give up on your dreams,” Michaela said.
29. What record did Michaela make?
A. She travelled to space alone in a wheelchair.
B. She became a space engineer in Blue Origin.
C. She designed a rocket to space with 5 other workers.
D. She became the first wheelchair user to travel to space.
30. What did Blue Origin do to help Michaela?

B. They added a special board and a lift.
C. They gave her a new wheelchair.
D. They built a special rocket only for her.
31. What did Michaela hope her trip would prove?
A. No other disabled people can go to space.
B. Only super healthy people can go to space.
C. People with disabilities also belong in space.
D. Wheelchair users should not travel to space.

D
第二节 阅读表达(共5题;每题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。

42. Why are AI’s answers sometimes wrong according to paragraph 3?
