六、书面表达(参考范文)
Volunteering Makes a Difference
Dear classmates,
As the old saying goes, "A gentleman values others and lowers himself, putting others first." I have learned the true meaning of this sentence from my volunteer experiences.
Last year, I joined a volunteer group to help clean up the riverbank near our city. We picked up rubbish, planted trees, and talked to people about protecting the environment. It was tiring work, but when I saw the clean river and the green trees, I felt proud. I also volunteered at the local old people's home. We sang songs, told stories, and helped the elderly clean their rooms. Their warm smiles made me realize that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
Volunteering has taught me that helping others is not only about giving, but also about growing. It makes me more responsible and kind. Let's take part in volunteer work and make the world a better place together!

Last month, our school 29 started a “Book & Bridge” reading project. We went to a 30 school in the countryside, where most students were 7 to 13 years old. They loved reading but had few books, and their reading corner was 31 —old shelves, no cushions, and no bright lights. The children were clearly 32 of new stories.
When we arrived, the teacher divided us into teams. My team’s 33 was to fix up the reading corner. At first, we argued about how to start, but soon we realized 34 was the only way to finish the work well. Lily, good at 35 , painted colorful pictures on the walls. Tom and I, strong enough, carried new wooden shelves and soft cushions. We all tried our best to make the reading corner 36 for the kids.
Another team helped with 37 tasks. They sorted new storybooks into different categories, taught the kids how to use the library cards, and even showed them 38 to keep their books in good shape. By noon, the reading corner looked warm and bright, and the shelves were full of colorful books.
Those 39 tasks became really meaningful because we worked 40 a team. I 41 that sharing books isn’t just about giving away things—it’s about opening new worlds for others. Even ordinary people, when united, can bring great 42 to those in need. That day, I learnt the best way to help is to stand 43 and work hand in hand.

In China, there are over 17 million blind people. Blind sidewalks(盲道) are designed to help blind people get around more easily. However, the present situation of blind sidewalks in China has both achievements and problems. Many cities in China have built blind sidewalks. For example, in big cities like Beijing and Shanghai, you can see them on many main streets. The government has made rules, like the law on barrier-free environment creation in 2023, which requires new buildings and roads to have proper blind sidewalks.
But there are still many problems. Some blind sidewalks are not well-designed. They might suddenly stop, turn sharply, or be too close to things like trees or bike areas. Also, many blind sidewalks are often blocked. In some areas: cars, bicycles, or even street sellers take up the space. In a survey in Beijing, more than half of the blind sidewalks were found to have such problems.
Thankfully, some organizations are working hard to improve this situation. China Disabled Persons’ Federation(中国残疾人联合会) has started projects to raise public awareness of the importance of accessible facilities. They also encourage people to respect blind sidewalks and not block them. Some local charities organize volunteers to check and report problems with blind sidewalks. They hope to make blind sidewalks truly useful for blind people, helping the live more independently and with more dignity.

Last month, I took part in a special online volunteer activity. I learnt about it from my teacher. The activity was to help primary school students in a poor area with their English learning.
Before starting, I got training online. The trainer taught us how to make lessons interesting and easy to understand. Then, I was matched with a little girl named Lingling. She was in Grade 4.
We had video classes twice a week. In the first class, I found Lingling was shy. So, I started with simple English songs. As we sang together, she smiled more. Later, I used pictures to teach her new words. For example, when teaching "apple", I showed a bright red apple picture. She learnt quickly and was excited to speak English.
Besides classes, I also made study plans for her. I sent her extra English stories and exercises. Lingling's mum told me she was becoming more interested in English.
This online volunteer activity was really meaningful. It made me more patient and taught me that even online, we can bring big changes to others. I hope to join more such activities in the future.
( ) 63. How did the writer help Lingling learn new words?
A. By showing her pictures. B. By telling English stories.
C. By playing online games. D. By watching movies together.
( ) 64. What did the trainer teach the volunteers before the activity?
A. How to match with students. B. How to make lessons interesting.
C. How to do more exercises D. How to communicate with parents.
( ) 65. How often did the writer have video classes with Lingling?

These days, there is a hot discussion about whether students should do volunteer work or not. Different people have different ideas.
Some students like it. They say volunteering helps them learn about the world outside school. For example, working in an old people's home teaches them how to talk to the elderly and understand their needs. Last month, my friend helped serve meals there and learnt to be more patient. It also helps develop life skills. When planning a charity sale, students learn to make posters, count money, and work with others. These skills are useful for their future.
But some students don't like it. They think volunteering takes too much time. Students need to study for exams and do homework. If they spend 3 hours volunteering every day, they might not finish their homework or read textbooks. My classmate Tom missed a science test review because of volunteering, and his grade went down. They also worry about safety. Cleaning up a riverbank or working in busy streets can be dangerous
I think students should volunteer, but not too much. Choose small jobs at weekends, like reading to blind people for 1 hour. This way, you can help others and learn new things without using study time. It's all about finding a balance!
( ) 68. What did the writer's friend learn from helping in an old people's home?
A. How to serve meals quickly. B. How to be more patient.
C. How to talk to classmates. D. How to plan activities.
( ) 69. What does the underlined word "It" in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A. Helping others in daily life. B. Finishing homework.
C. Doing volunteer work. D. Planning a charity sale.
( ) 70. Why did Tom's grade go down?
A. Because he spent too much time on homework.
B. Because he didn't study for the exam at all.
C. Because he fell down when cleaning a riverbank.
D. Because he missed a science test review for volunteering.
( ) 71. Which of the following best shows the structure of the passage? (①=Paragraph1)
A. ①/②③/④ B. ①/②③④
C. ①②/③④D. D.①②③/④
( ) 72. Which of the following is the best title for the passage?
A. Why Do Students Love Volunteering?
