When mountains, rivers and something else block the view, you may wonder whether there is still a road ahead. Be positive. Chinese people will use two common sayings to tell you that there will always be a road ahead.
One of the sayings comes from Chinese folk culture. It says, “When a carriage (马车) arrives in front of a mountain, there’s always a road ahead; when a boat reaches a bridge, it will naturally go straight.”
The meaning here is that when you drive a carriage to a mountain, there must be a road you can take to go forward, and water currents (水流) will naturally straighten a boat when it goes to pass under a bridge. In more common language: Don’t worry about what’s going to happen in the future; things will work themselves out.
The second saying is from two lines from a poem written by Lu You, a great Southern Song Dynasty historian and poet. The two lines are translated as “Mountains roll beyond mountains, and streams (小河) double back to streams. I doubt if there’s still a road and then, with shady willows and bright flowers, another village suddenly appears ahead.” In easier language: Don’t lose hope, and there’s always a way.
These popular expressions are often used to encourage people to face the world calmly during difficult times. There is a Western saying that follows the same idea: “When God closes one door, he opens a window.”
39. When may people feel worried?
A. They find a new village suddenly. B. Something blocks their way ahead.
C. The boat goes straight under the bridge. D. They see beautiful flowers and willows.
40. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A. The road B. The mountain C. The boat D. The bridge
41. What can we infer about Lu You from the passage?
A. He liked traveling very much. B. He was good at sailing a boat.
C. He was good at writing poems. D. He lived before the Tang Dynasty.
42. What is the writer’s purpose of including the Western saying?
A. To show that Chinese sayings are more widely used.
B. To show that Western sayings are easier to understand.
C. To show that Chinese culture is better than Western culture.
D. To show that people in different countries have similar ideas.
【答案】39. B 40. C 41. C 42. D

Its top is covered with thick snow all year round, and the air there is much thinner than that in low-lying areas. Climbers need strong bodies, warm clothes, and brave hearts to reach the top. Many people try, but only the best get there.
There are also many other natural wonders. The Amazon Rainforest is one of the largest forests on Earth. It is home to many kinds of plants and animals. Bright parrots fly above tall trees, tiny frogs sit on green leaves, and lovely dolphins swim in the rivers. Some trees are so big that ten children holding hands cannot wrap (环绕) around them! Rivers like the Nile are longer and have a bigger influence on the land around them compared to many other rivers. People farm along the banks, build cities, and use the river to travel and trade.
We explore nature because it is not only beautiful but also full of mysteries. By exploring, we can learn how nature works and why different natural wonders form. The knowledge helps us understand our planet better. We can also help protect animals and plants when we know more about them. Exploring teaches us to be careful, kind, and curious.
So, let’s value these natural wonders. They are precious gifts from the earth. If we take good care of them, future kids can enjoy them too. Let’s keep our planet clean and safe for everyone!
46. How does the writer show nature is full of amazing wonders?
A. By telling a moving story. B. By showing some scientific reports.
C. By giving several famous examples. D. By asking some interesting questions.
47. What can you find in the Amazon Rainforest?
① Colorful birds flying in the forest ② Small frogs living on green leaves
③ Thick snow on the high mountains ④ Dolphins swimming in the rivers
A. ①②③ B. ①②④ C. ①③④ D. ②③④
48. Why is the text written?
A. To call on people to value and protect natural wonders.
B. To show how difficult it is to climb the high mountains.
C. To introduce the long history of the Amazon Rainforest.
D. To give advice on traveling safely among natural wonders.
【答案】46. C 47. B 48. A

原文开头提到“Nature is filled with a lot of wonders that amaze us. Let’s take Mount Qomolangma as an example.”,第二段又举了“The Amazon Rainforest… Rivers like the Nile”等例子,因此作者是通过给出几个著名的例子来展示自然界充满奇观的。
【47题详解】
根据原文第二段描述:“Bright parrots fly above tall trees, tiny frogs sit on green leaves, and lovely dolphins swim in the rivers.” 对应①②④;而“Thick snow on the high mountains”是珠穆朗玛峰的特征,不是亚马逊雨林的景象,因此③错误。
【48题详解】
文章结尾明确写道“So, let’s value these natural wonders. They are precious gifts from the earth. If we take good care of them, future kids can enjoy them too.”,点明了写作目的是号召人们重视并保护自然奇观。

The rise of AI doctors is not like something from science fiction anymore. It’s really happening now. In different parts of China, AI doctors are bringing big changes to the medical field.
Last year, Beijing Children’s Hospital brought in the country’s first AI pediatrician (儿科医生). An 8-year-old boy had a sudden and serious illness. Thirteen top experts were trying hard to find the best treatment. At the same time, the AI doctor came up with a treatment plan and it was like the human doctors’ thoughts.
In Shandong, a couple was very distressed when their child had a high fever. They decided to try DeepSeek before going to the hospital. After putting in the description of the illness, the AI said it was probably a bacterial infection (细菌感染) and suggested some medicine. When they went to the hospital, the doctor gave exactly the same medicine.
Even in some villages of Jiangsu, AI doctors help patients know about their illnesses and make it easier for disabled people to move around in the hospital.
All these examples show us two important things AI doctors can do. They can help top doctors make better choices and they can also make healthcare easier for everyone in the country. However, AI doctors need to make more improvements. As one doctor said, “AI doctors can give us ideas, but we still need the care given by humans.”
49. What did the AI doctor do for the 8-year-old boy?
A. It sent him to the hospital. B. It operated on him at once.
C. It gave him some medicine. D. It provided a treatment plan.
50. What does the underlined word “distressed” probably mean?
A. Relaxed B. Worried C. Scared D. Embarrassed
51. What can we infer from the doctor’s words in the last paragraph?
A. Human care is still very necessary. B. Human doctors are no longer needed.
C. AI doctors can offer enough care to patients. D. AI doctors can fully take the place of humans.
52. How is the passage organized?
A. Show a fact→Give examples→Express ideas
B. Give opinions→Tell stories→Draw conclusions
C. Ask questions→Answer questions→Give advice
D. Talk about history→Describe the present→Predict the future
【答案】49. D 50. B 51. A 52. A

【50题详解】

【51题详解】
根据最后一段“As one doctor said, ‘AI doctors can give us ideas, but we still need the care given by humans.’”

Growing up is not always easy. When we face difficulties, we should never give up. It is easy to give up when you are sick or tired. But the words of my father always stay in my mind: “No matter what happens, you should believe in yourself. Everything will get better if you keep trying.”

C
In today’s fast-paced world, finding time to relax is more important than ever. Free-time activities are not just for passing the time. They play a key role in reducing stress and improving our overall happiness. Some popular activities include physical ones like sports or yoga, which are good for our bodies. Others are creative, like painting, playing musical instruments, or doing calligraphy. These hobbies allow us to express our feelings and can give us a strong sense of achievement when we improve or finish a project.
It’s common to feel nervous or scared when starting something new. You might think, “I’m not good at this,” or “What if I fail?” Remember the old saying, “The first step is always the hardest.” The most important thing is to give it a go. You don’t have to be perfect from the start. Even spending a little time on a hobby you love can make a big difference. It can inspire you to learn more, help you get over daily worries, and connect you with people who share your interests. So, what are you waiting for? Find an activity you enjoy and make it a part of your life!
43. What can creative hobbies help people do?
A. Make no mistakes. B. Express their feelings.
C. Become strong and healthy. D. Keep away from all worries.
44. What can we know from the saying “The first step is always the hardest”?
A. We should never try new things. B. It’s normal to feel afraid at first.
C. We must be perfect when starting. D. All hobbies are difficult to learn.
45. What is the best title for the passage?
A. Take Up a Hobby and Enjoy Life B. How to Choose Creative Hobbies
C. The Differences Between Hobbies D. How to Become Perfect in Hobbies

Nature is filled with a lot of wonders that amaze us. Let’s take Mount Qomolangma as an example. It is the highest mountain in the world.

Growing up is not always easy. When we face difficulties, we should never give up. It is easy to give up when you are sick or tired. But the words of my father always stay in my mind: “No matter what happens, you should believe in yourself. Everything will get better if you keep trying.”
Last year, I nearly gave up my English learning. I was very afraid of making mistakes. I was afraid to speak English in class because I worried about being laughed at. My teacher noticed my problem and had a long talk with me. She told me that everyone was shy when they started learning something new. She encouraged me to practice speaking English as much as possible.
I took my teacher’s advice. I started reading English stories aloud every morning. I also tried to talk with my classmates in English. Gradually, I found it was not so difficult to learn English. I made great progress. When I got an A in the last exam, I felt so happy.
Now I know that growing up is like a journey. It is full of ups and downs. The most important thing is to learn from the failure and keep moving forward. As we grow up, we become braver and smarter.
