六、阅读理解
The giant panda is one of the most famous animals in the world, and it is also the symbol of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). This international organization was founded in 1961 to protect nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth.
In the past, giant pandas were in great danger. People cut down too many trees, so the pandas lost their homes and food sources. By the 1980s, there were only about 1,000 pandas left in the wild. WWF started working with the Chinese government to set up nature reserves. These protected areas allow pandas to live and breed safely without human disturbance.
Thanks to these efforts, the number of giant pandas has grown. In 2016, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) changed the giant panda’s status from “Endangered” to “Vulnerable.” This change shows that conservation works. However, WWF reminds us that pandas still face risks, such as climate change and habitat loss.
Today, WWF does more than just protect pandas. They work on many projects, including saving tigers in India, stopping illegal fishing in the oceans, and fighting against climate change. Their goal is to build a future where people live in harmony with nature.

A. To build more zoos for animals. B. To protect nature and biodiversity.

A. They were hunted too much by farmers.

3. What does the word “reserves” in Paragraph 2 most probably mean?
