Zheng Xie, also known as Zheng Banqiao, was one of the most famous painters in ancient China. He lived during the Qing Dynasty and was known for his skill at painting bamboo. He once wrote, “All the people in this world grow flowers, but I will plant bamboo only.” This shows his deep love for bamboo.
Zheng created many bamboo paintings. One of them is the scroll (卷轴) titled “Bamboo and Stone”. In the painting scroll, thin but strong bamboo grows on a cliff (悬崖), standing firmly against strong winds from all directions. The different darkness of the ink and the crossed lines make the bamboo look real. A poem beside it praises the firm and brave “willpower” of bamboo.
The different shapes of bamboo in Zheng’s paintings stand for the good qualities of human beings. They also show what kind of person Zheng was — he didn’t give in (屈服) and always challenged the traditional ideas.
Zheng passed the imperial competitive examination (科举考试) successfully. Later, he worked as a government official for years and won a lot of people’s respect. But he didn’t want to follow the bad ways of the official circle, so he left his job. Then he made a living by selling his paintings.
At that time, what Zheng did was hard for people to understand, and they even looked down on (轻视) him. But he kept his love by staying away from official life. He was just like the bamboo in his paintings, growing strongly on the mountain cliff.
Zheng was called “one of the greatest people in China in the past three hundred years”. His spirit and life story will continue to be passed down with his great paintings and poems, influencing all Chinese people.

C. Because he grew a lot of bamboo in his garden.
D. Because he was the highest-ranking official in the Qing Dynasty.
12. What does the third paragraph mainly talk about?
A. The techniques Zheng used to paint bamboo.
B. The meaning of bamboo in Zheng’s paintings.
C. The process of Zheng creating his paintings.

13. What did Zheng Banqiao do after leaving his official job?
A. He went to the mountain to plant bamboo.
B. He made a living by selling his paintings.
C. He became a teacher to teach painting.
D. He traveled around China to collect poems.
14. What can we know about Zheng Banqiao from the passage?
A. He liked the life in the official circle very much.
B. He became rich after leaving his official job.
C. He was afraid of challenges and always followed others.
D. He was firm (坚定的) and refused to give in to bad traditions.

The drama Born to Be Alive brings us to a mysterious world. However, the show is just a window. Outside the window is the real Sanjiangyuan. It is not only the source region of the Yangtze, Yellow, and Lancang rivers, but also the home of the brave guardians (守护者).
Located on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Hoh Xil is a mysterious part of the Sanjiangyuan area. With an altitude (海拔) of over 4,600 meters, Hoh Xil has thin air, and the wind cuts like a knife. Many years ago, the beautiful land faced a dark time. Thousands of Tibetan antelopes (藏羚羊) were hunted for their wool. The land, once peaceful, was covered with blood. As a result, they almost disappeared from the earth.
To stop the killing, a group of heroes stood up. They are the real-life models for the characters in the drama. One of them was Jetsun Dargye. In the 1990s, with old tools and little food, he and his team fought against cruel hunters in the freezing wild. In a final battle, he was shot but refused to fall. He froze into a statue (雕像) in the snow, holding his gun to protect the land. His death woke up the whole nation. In 1997, Hoh Xil was upgraded to a national nature reserve.
Thanks to these efforts, the antelopes run free again. In the main area of Hoh Xil, the population of Tibetan antelopes has risen from less than 20,000 to over 70,000. The guardians used their lives to teach us a lesson: The “Tree of Life” does not grow on soil alone. It grows on the courage to protect and the wisdom to coexist (共存). Protecting nature is, indeed, protecting ourselves.
18. Why did thousands of Tibetan antelopes almost disappear many years ago?
A. Because the air was very thin.
B. Because they were hunted for their wool.
C. Because the wind was very strong and cold.
D. Because they lost their homes due to climate change.
19. What did Jetsun Dargye and his team do to protect the antelopes?
A. They built many nature reserves.
B. They fought against cruel hunters.
C. They raised more Tibetan antelopes.
D. They studied Tibetan antelopes in scientific labs.
20. What can we learn about Tibetan antelopes in Hoh Xil now?
A. They still live in great danger.
B. Their number has become smaller.
C. Their population has increased greatly.
D. They are kept in zoos for better protection.
21. What is the writer’s purpose in writing the text?
A. To tell us to protect nature and animals.
B. To ask us to watch the drama Born to Be Alive.
C. To show how hard life is on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
D. To introduce the history of the Sanjiangyuan area.
D
Recently, researchers in China have shown a new type of soft, lightweight humanoid robot (人形机器人) designed to be a safe helper that can adapt to different situations in future homes.
Inspired by “growable” human bones, the robot, named GrowHR, is 1.36 metres tall but weighs only 4.5 kg, which is lighter than a large house cat. A six-year-old child can easily lift it.
Being very light, together with a body made of flexible, air-filled structures, makes it safer than today’s heavy robots. This design allows us to hug or lift it without injury. Also, the robot is small and easy to carry, and can be packed into a small box if we don’t need it.
Using air pressure, GrowHR can shrink when it needs to pass through narrow (狭窄的) spaces. This is very important for moving around in a home with lots of furniture. This robot can also change its shape to walk through a low hole that is only 36% of its original height and can fit through a narrow space that is just 61% of its original width.
The robot’s special design lets it do some other cool things. For example, it can float and swim. This means it could be used to get back things from a pool. Its light weight also means it can be carried by a drone (无人机) to a location 5.5 km away so that it could be used for food delivery or remote-assistance (远程协助) in the future.
The research team says that in the future, they will make the robot even better. They will give it more freedom to move in different ways and help it work more independently.
22. Where will GrowHR be mainly used in the future?
A. In homes. B. In schools. C. In the wild. D. In the deep sea.
23. What makes GrowHR safer?
A. Its short height. B. Its flexible mind.
C. Its ability to float and swim. D. Its light and soft body.
24. What does the underlined word “shrink” mean in paragraph 4?
A. Stop moving. B. Grow stronger. C. Become smaller. D. Turn around.
25. Why does the writer mention GrowHR can be carried by a drone?
A. To show how fast a drone can fly.
B. To prove that the robot is really light.
C. To compare the robot with other robots.
D. To suggest possible future uses of the robot.

【答案】18. B 19. B 20. C 21. A

【答案】22. A 23. D 24. C 25. D
【解析】
【导语】本文是一篇说明文,介绍了中国研发的新型轻量化人形机器人GrowHR,重点说明了它的设计特点、安全优势、适应能力以及未来的应用前景。

例文
Let’s take exercise to keep healthy
Nowadays, many middle school students don’t get enough exercise. They prefer staying indoors with electronic products instead of doing sports. Heavy study pressure also leaves them little time for exercise, leading to poor health.
To keep fit, I have my own ways. I run for 20 minutes every morning. During the 15-minute break, I walk or do simple stretching. After school, I play basketball with my friends for half an hour.
Let’s take action to do more exercise. Good health is the foundation of our study and life. Let’s enjoy the fun of exercise and stay energetic every day.
