Recently,I've had some small problems and disagreements with a
friend.Nothing big,but it's been on-my mind.I'm not sure how to
handle these little conflicts ()I want to be friendly and get along
with everyone, but sometimes it's hard.Could you please give me some
advice on how to deal with small disagreements with friends?
By:Judy Clark on 17/05 7:00 PM
1#2
It's normal to have small disagreements with friends sometimes,
and it shows you are a kind person because you want to handle this
well. This is a part of growing up.I have some simple suggestions that
might help.
Talk it out calmly
Choose a good time to chat with your friends.Use "I feel"
statements, like "I felt-a bit upset when ...instead of saying "You
did ..."This helps them understand your feelings without feeling
attacked.Often, small problems are just misunderstandings.A friendly
talk can clear the air.
Choose your battles
Ask yourself,"Is this really important?"Some small things are
not worth arguing about.Maybe your friend has a different habit or
opinion.If-it doesn't hurt anyone,it's okay to let it go.Save your
energy for things that truly matter.Being kind and letting small things
pass shows you are mature(成熟的).
Solve the problem
Once both of you understand'eachi other's feelinigs, you can move
into-solution-mode.Ask-simple-questions like,"How-can-we-prevent
this next time?"Find a small, practical step you both agree on.
Working as a team makes the solution more effective.
Focus on the positive
Remember why you like-this person and the good times you've
shared.Don't let one.small.problem make you forget.all the good
things.Spend time doing fun activities together. This positive
connection makes it easier to get past small conflicts.
21.What problem does Yu Xiaoming have?
A.His friends aren't very friendly to him.
B.He often has bad fights with his friends.
C.He has small disagreements with a friend.

Light pollution happens when too much artificial light()makes the night sky too bright.
Picture this:you're trying to look at fireflies in a forest one night, but someone turns on a
super-bright flashlight ()making it hard to see these tiny lights. That's a bit like what light
pollution does to our view of the stars.
Light pollution is a problem for both humans and animals. The bright lights waste lots of energy,
and they make it difficult for scientists to study the universe. What's worse, light pollution makes
animals like birds lose their way at night. Also, just like we need a dark room to sleep well at night,
many animals do too.A bright living place at night is bad for their health.
How can you help with light pollution?First of all, when you and your family use outdoor
lights, you should keep the light from going up into the sky.And remember to turn off lights in your
house when you don't need them.Every year, there's a Dark Sky Week in April.During this time,
people all over the world take part in activities to learn about light pollution and how to protect the
night sky.You can join them too!You can also talk to your friends, teachers, and family about light
pollution. The more people know about it,the more they can help.
Eeryone can play a big part in fighting light pollution. It sounds like a big problem, but you
can make a real difference. The future is in your hands!
24.How does the writer explain light pollution?
A.By telling a story.
B.By giving an example.
C.By using a scientist's words.
25.Where can we sleep well at night according to paragraph 2?
A.In a dark room.
B.At a bright living place.
C.In a forest.
26.What is paragraph 3 mainly about?
A.Ways to fight light pollution.
B.Activities causing iight pollution.
C.People who can help with Night pollution
27.Which of the following ideas might the writer agree with?
A.Bright light can help scientists see stars clearly.
B.Our small actions can really help solve light pollution
C.Artificial light can help birds find their way home at night.

Following travel etiquette (is of great importance. In a world where every culture has
different rules,a smart traveller should build bridges rather than barriers to make his or her trips
more enjoyable.
Public transportation etiquette is important whether you are taking a subway in New York,a
tram in Amsterdam,or a tuk-tuk in Bangkok.Always allow passengers to get off before getting on,
and offer your seat to elderly passengers or those with disabilities.Keeping noise low helps everyone
enjoy a more peaceful ride.
Eating abroad is one of the greatest joys of travel, but it also comes with some special customs.
In many Asian countries, finishing your plate shows appreciation for the meal, while in some Middle
Eastern cultures, leaving some food can be a sign of satisfaction. So,always research dining
etiquette ahead of time.Besides, remember that food often carries deep cultural meaning,so avoid
making negative comments about unfamiliar dishes.
Places like temples and churches deserve extra attention.Dress properly;remove shoes if

required, and keep conversations quiet.Even when photography is allowed, avoid taking selfies
in these sacred areas.
In the age of sharing, travel etiquette extends to social media.Posting respectfully means being
thoughtful about what images and stories you share.Avoid posting photos that could embarrass
locals. When writing reviews,be fair and balanced.Kindness and honesty support small
communities that depend on tourism.Remember that digital footprints can have real-world
consequences.Following good online manners is just as important as being polite in person.
By placing travel etiquette first, you open doors to deeper experiences, lasting friendships, and
a greater understanding of the world.Manners are timeless, and they truly matter wherever you go.

Recently, researchers in China have shown a new type of soft, lightweight humanoid robot (A
形机器人)designed to be a safe helper that can adapt to different situations in future homes.
Inspired by "growable"human bones,the robot,named GrowHR,is 1.36 metres talt out weighs
only 4.5 kg,which is lighter than a large house cat.A six-year-old child can easily lift it.
Being very light, together with a body made of flexible,air-filled structures, makes it safer than
today's heavy robots. This design allows us to hug or lift it without injury. Also, the robot is small
and easy to carry, and can be packed into a small box if we don't need it.
Using air pressure,GrowHR can shrink when it needs to pass through narrow spaces. This is
very important for moving around in a home with lots of furniture. This robot can also change its
shape to walk through a low hole that is only 36%of its original height and can fit.through a narrow
space that is just 61%of its original width.
The robot's special design lets it do some other cool things. For example,it can float and swim.
This means it could be used to get back things from a pool. Its light weight also means it can be
carried by a drone (to a location 5.5 km away so that it could be used for food delivery or
remote-assistance(远程协助)in the future.
The research team says that in the future, they will make the robot even better. They will give it
more freedom to move in different ways amd help it work more independently.
32.Where will GrowHR-be mainly.used in the future?
A.In homes.
B.In schools.
C..In the wild
33.What makes GrowHR safer?
A.Its short height.
B.ats light and soft body.
C.Its flexible mind.

第一节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,按照题目要求用英语回答问题,并将答案写到答题卡的相应位置。
Since the beginning of human history, people have looked up at the stars and wondered what
they were like. Many ancient cultures believed that these points of light were from gods or other
mysterious worlds. However,as technology and science developed,we learnt the truth about stars.
They are real places like our own sun,and they are further away than anyone imagined. This raises
the question:Can we visit the stars one day?
The man-made object which has travelled furthest from Earth is Voyager 1.This spacecraft was
launched in 1977.In case Voyager 1 is found by alien life,a special record with sounds and pictures
from Earth is carried on board. It shows who we are and where we are from. Now,Voyager 1 is an
amazing 23.5 billion kilometres from Earth, but that is still a long way from Earth's nearest star,
Proxima Centauri. That star is 4.2 light years away-about 40 trillion kilometres!
The challenge of visiting the stars gets even bigger for space flights with humans. The furthest
that any human has gone in space is only about 400,000 kilometres, around the other side of the
moon.Time is a big problem. At present, even a journey to the planet Mars will take around six to
nine months. What will the astronauts eat and drink during this period? And how about their health
and safety? These problems grow when we talk about visiting another star.It might take hundreds of
thousands of years to get there!
Scientists, however, believe that visiting the stars is not a completely wild dream. One idea is to
have the astronauts sleep during their journey like some animals do in winter.Another is
While this is not possible right now, with nations and scientists cooperating with one another, there is
hope that the necessary technology will be ideveloped:Humans have set foot on the moon,
successfully landed rovers on Mars, and even photographed other galaxies. In time,it seems likely
that one day we may reach the stars as people.once dreamt.
