In Canada, sea ice covers western Hudson Bay for most of the year. It’s a perfect place for polar bears. However, the ice melts (融化) and they have to move to land.
Without enough food, polar bears must live off fat (脂肪) in their bodies for months. Because of global warming, the period becomes longer. Here comes the question: can polar bears live well on land?
According to a study in Nature, the answer is “No”. Anthony Pagano, a scientist from America, led his team to Hudson Bay.
