【原文】W: I have a couple of questions about equipment. Will we need a lot of warm stuff?
M: Well, mountain weather is unpredictable, so you need to prepare for the worst.
W: What exactly do you mean by “the worst”? Is there a risk of snow?
M: I don’t think it will snow where we’re going. But to be honest, the worst sort of weather is downpour. So you need a good waterproof coat.
W: Of course.
M: But you don’t need a thick coat. When you’re walking, you get very hot, you sweat a lot, and then as soon as you stop walking, you quickly get cold.
W: So what sort of coat would you recommend taking? A light one?
M: Yeah, a light one is better. And another thing to consider is the kind of T-shirt you wear. Not cotton ones because if cotton gets wet, it takes a long time to dry. Lightweight sports T-shirts are better. They dry fast — plus, they’re a lot lighter to carry in your backpack.
W: OK.

In the misty mountains of central China, a remarkable scientific effort has been unfolding for decades: the Giant Panda Conservation, Breeding Program. Established in the 1960s, this initiative was born from a critical need to protect the species, whose wild population had dropped sharply due to habitat loss, food shortage and low reproductive rates.
Early breeding efforts faced significant challenges. Pandas have a very short reproductive period each year, and captive pandas often struggled with natural mating. To overcome this, scientists developed a specialized technique called artificial insemination (人工授精). They combined advanced reproductive technology with careful genetic matching, ensuring the health and diversity of the captive population. Local governments and international organizations also joined hands to support the initial research and protection work. By the 1990s, breakthroughs in hormone (激素) analysis and panda behavior helped further improve birth rates. Vets closely monitored every stage of newborn development to boost survival rates.
Compared to natural reproduction, this program has doubled the panda’s chances of survival. Captive-bred pandas, once they are healthy and mature, are reintroduced into carefully selected wild habitats. This process involves extensive pre-release training, where young pandas learn essential skills such as hunting for bamboo, climbing trees, and avoiding natural killers. This has not only boosted the total wild panda count to over 1,800 but also strengthened the genetic pool, making the species more resistant to diseases and environmental changes.
Looking to the future, the program’s success offers a blueprint for saving other endangered species. It demonstrates that with dedicated scientific research and international cooperation, even the most challenging conservation goals can be achieved. International experts often visit China to exchange knowledge on breeding techniques, fostering a global community dedicated to preserving biodiversity for generations to come. More countries are expected to cooperate with China in wildlife protection.
24. Why was the program launched?
A. To save the endangered pandas. B. To attract international tourists.
C. To improve local environment. D. To document panda living habits.
25. What helped improve panda birth rates in the 1990s?
A. Increase in daily bamboo supply. B. Expansion of artificial living space.
C. Support from international pet centers. D. Progress in hormone and behavior research.
26. What can we infer about pre-release training?
A. It changes pandas’ natural abilities.
B. It teaches pandas to live in the wild.
C. It focuses only on medical treatment.
D. It prevents pandas from being released.
27. Which is the best title for the text?
A. Skills to raise wild animals B. Plans to build panda reserves
C. Efforts to protect giant pandas D. Methods to study panda behavior
【答案】24. A 25. D 26. B 27. C

C
As a child, Kara never believed her parents played favorites. Her younger siblings received special treatment such as trips to Disneyland, which she explained by telling herself older children should be more independent, and her parents had more money later in life. However, as favoritism continued into adulthood, including spending Christmas with her sisters instead of her and her children, Kara finally realized there was no reasonable excuse. She felt hurt and hated that her own children were also overlooked.
Such unfair treatment harmed Kara’s mental health. Research shows that experiences like Kara’s are common among less favored children. In childhood, they are more likely to have poorer mental health, worse family relationships and less academic success than their siblings. Other research shows that those effects can last long into adulthood. According to Professor Laurie Kramer, who studies family relationships at Northeastern University, many elderly people still clearly remember unfair treatment from their childhood and cannot let it go.
In 2001, she recruited more than 500 mothers, each of whom had two or more adult children, and began tracking the answers to some of those questions. The research showed that favoritism was pervasive — about two-thirds of parents had a favorite child, and the preference often remained unchanged for decades. Favorites were often daughters or younger siblings. Besides birth order and gender, agreeable and conscientious children were also more likely to be favored because they were easier to raise, said Alex Jensen, a researcher at Brigham Young University.
Dr. Alex Jensen concluded that parental favoritism is universally harmful. Nevertheless, Dr. Kramer suggested that parents should discuss this sensitive topic openly. When they have to treat children differently, they should explain the reasons, such as a child needing more help with study because he’s struggling in school or new clothes because old ones are worn out. If children understand the true cause of unequal treatment, many harmful effects can be reduced. Therefore, open communication is an effective way to reduce the pain caused by parental favoritism.
28. What is the writing purpose of paragraph 1?
A. To state a truth. B. To give a suggestion.
C. To introduce the topic. D. To compare experiences.
29. What does Kramer want to convey in her words?
A. Family bonds improve with age.
B. Old adults suffer poor mental health.
C. Childhood memories are easy to fade.
D. Unfair treatment leaves a long-lasting mark.
30. What does the underlined word “pervasive” in paragraph 3 mean?
A. Widely existing. B. Hardly noticed. C. Easily changing. D. Rarely happening.
31. What can be inferred from Dr. Kramer’s suggestion?
A. Favoritism needs no reason. B. Explanation eases unfair harm.
C. Silence solves family conflicts. D. Differences hurt children most.
【答案】28. C 29. D 30. A 31. B
【解析】
【导语】本文由卡拉的亲身经历引入,探讨父母偏心这一普遍现象,介绍其带来的长久负面影响,并提出缓解该伤害的有效办法。
【28题详解】
推理判断题。根据第一段“As a child, Kara never believed her parents played favorites. She felt hurt and hated that her own children were also overlooked.(小时候,卡拉从不相信父母会偏袒她。
根据第二段中Professor Laurie Kramer所说的“many elderly people still clearly remember unfair treatment from their childhood and cannot let it go.(许多老年人仍然清楚地记得童年受到的不公平待遇,并且无法释怀。)”可知,Kramer想要传达的是不公平的对待会留下长期的、难以磨灭的印记。
【30题详解】
词句猜测题。根据第三段中的“The research showed that favoritism was pervasive — about two-thirds of parents had a favorite child, and the preference often remained unchanged for decades.(研究表明,偏爱是pervasive的——大约三分之二的父母有偏爱的孩子,而且这种偏好往往几十年不变。)”可知,约三分之二的父母都有偏爱的孩子,说明偏爱现象非常普遍,“pervasive”意思是"广泛存在的",与“Widely existing”意思相近。
【31题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段中的“If children understand the true cause of unequal treatment, many harmful effects can be reduced.(如果孩子明白差别对待背后的真正原因,诸多负面影响都能够得以减轻。)”可知,作出解释能够缓解不公平对待带来的伤害。
D
Beneath the surface of oceans lie coral reefs. Often called the “rainforests of the sea,” these underwater structures cover less than 0.1 percent of the ocean floor but support more than 25 percent of all marine species. Countless creatures depend on coral reefs for food, shelter, and a place to reproduce.
One of the most fascinating things about coral reefs is the symbiotic (共生的) relationships. A typical example of this partnership is between coral polyps — the tiny animals that build coral reefs — and symbiotic algae (藻类) called zooxanthellae. The algae live inside the polyps and use sunlight to make food. In return, the polyps provide the algae with protection and nutrients. This partnership gives coral reefs their bright colors and helps them grow healthily and quickly.
But coral reefs are in trouble. Global warming is causing ocean temperatures to rise, which leads to coral bleaching (白化). When water gets too warm, coral polyps lost their color and their main food source. If the heat lasts too long, the coral dies. Pollution is another threat: chemicals from farms, plastic waste, and oil spills can damage coral and kill the creatures that live there. Overfishing also harms reefs by removing important species that keep the ecosystem balanced and functional.
Scientists estimate that nearly half of the world’s coral reefs have already ruined, and without action, more could be lost in the next 20 years. But there is hope. Marine biologists are working to grow coral in labs and then plant it in damaged reefs. Governments are creating marine reserves where fishing and other harmful activities are banned. And individuals can help too: by reducing carbon emissions, using sunscreen that doesn’t contain chemicals harmful to coral, and supporting organizations that protect reefs. Everyone’s effort counts in reef protection.
Coral reefs are more than just beautiful underwater landscapes — they’re vital to the health of our planet. As we learn more about these hidden wonders, it’s clear that saving them is one of the most important environmental goals of our time. Losing them would break ocean balance and threaten human well-being deeply.
32. What can we learn from paragraph 1?
A. Reefs occupy a tiny ocean area. B. Reefs harm marine biodiversity.
C. Oceans floor mainly consists of reefs. D. Marine species totally rely on reefs.
33. How does the author illustrate symbiotic relationships in paragraph 2?
A. By listing data. B. By giving examples.
C. By analyzing effects. D. By making comparisons.
34. What causes coral’s death according to the text?
A. Removing fish supplies. B. Growing laboratory coral.
C. Increasing marine animals. D. Rising ocean temperatures.
35. What is the author’s attitude toward saving reefs?
A. Doubtful. B. Hesitant. C. Hopeful. D. Tolerant.
【答案】32. A 33. B 34. D 35. C

由后文“Chen Zhuo, a 16-year-old 11th grader from Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, said she started using AI out of curiosity.(浙江杭州 16 岁高二学生陈卓表示自己出于好奇开始使用人工智能。)” 可知,后文开始举例说明学生使用人工智能写作业,此处需要引出学生轻松使用人工智能处理学业的现状。C选项“With just a few simple instructions, students can use AI tools easily to handle their schoolwork(只需简单输入指令,学生就能轻松借助人工智能工具完成学业任务)” 引出下文具体事例,贴合语境。
【37题详解】
由前文 “However, Su emphasized that her daughter does not use AI tools for schoolwork.(然而苏敏强调自己的女儿不会用人工智能工具完成校内作业。)”可知,此处需要说明家长不让孩子使用人工智能写作业的原因。A选项“Simply copying the results generated by AI is not beneficial(单纯照搬人工智能生成的答案毫无益处)” 承接上文,阐明背后缘由。
【38题详解】
根据上文“While AI tools make schoolwork easier, some teachers and scholars are concerned about its unguarded use. (虽然AI工具让作业变得更容易,但一些教师和学者担心其无限制的使用。)”可知,这里点出了教育工作者对AI滥用的担忧。下文“Relying on AI for knowledge acquisition holds back their self-development. (依赖AI获取知识会阻碍他们的自我发展。)”是学者熊丙奇指出的具体危害。因此,本空需要一个句子,能作为熊丙奇观点的前半部分,与下文构成完整表述。G选项“While AI is often advertised as a tool to enhance education, its impact on children’s self-development could be more harmful (虽然AI常被宣传为一种提升教育的工具,但它对孩子自我发展的影响可能更有害)”符合题意。
由上文“In December, the Ministry of Education issued guidelines aimed at strengthening AI education in primary and secondary schools.(去年十二月教育部发布方针,旨在加强中小学人工智能教育。)”可知,此处需要介绍该方针包含的具体内容。E选项“The initiative includes developing a systematic AI curriculum and expanding AI education nationwide by 2030 (该举措包含搭建系统化人工智能课程,计划 2030 年在全国普及人工智能教育)”承接上文,介绍方针具体内容。
【40题详解】
由后文“A school in Beijing, for example, assigned an AI-related homework project over the winter break.(例如北京一所学校在寒假布置了和人工智能相关的特色作业)” 可知,后文举例学校合理运用人工智能布置作业,此处需要总起引出学校的正确探索方式。D选项“To promote the responsible use of AI, some schools are exploring ways to integrate it into assignments (为推动人工智能合理使用,部分学校正探索将其融入课后作业的方式)”总领下文事例,符合文意。

【答案】One possible version
Recently I’ve noticed a worrying phenomenon on our campus. During breaks or self-study hours, some students are talking loudly, chasing or playing in corridors or classrooms. What’s worse, some even turn on music at full volume, which greatly disturbs those who are reviewing lessons or taking a rest.
A peaceful environment is essential for efficient learning. It also shows our respect for others. Let’s lower our voices, choose quiet activities during breaks, and remind peers to behave politely. Small acts of consideration will make our campus a better place for everyone to study and grow.

67. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
My mother has always had a soft spot for the dumplings my grandmother made. Every time we visited Grandma, the kitchen would be filled with the warm smell of wheat flour and meat filling. Grandma’s dumplings were not just food; they were wrapped with endless love. She had a special recipe, written in her neat handwriting on a yellowed piece of paper, which she guarded like a treasure.
Every time as she rolled the dough and folded the wrappers, she would chat with us happily. “These dumplings carry all my love for you two,” she would say in a gentle voice. Sometimes she let me press the edges and taught my mother the secret of the filling. We laughed and talked, and the kitchen was always full of warmth. Both my mother and I would sit by her side, watching her skillfully make perfect half-moon dumplings, and we would eat them until our stomachs were full.
Tragically, Grandma passed away two years ago. Since then, the familiar smell of her dumplings has disappeared from our home. My mother rarely mentioned them, but I could see deep sadness in her eyes on festivals and quiet evenings. She would touch the old recipe gently, stare at Grandma’s photo, or sit alone in the kitchen as if waiting for someone. This year, my mother’s 45th birthday was approaching, and I decided to do something special for her. I wanted to bring back the taste of Grandma’s dumplings and the warmth that came with it.
Secretly, I found Grandma’s old recipe hidden in a wooden box. It listed clearly how to make dumplings. For a whole week, I practiced making dumplings after school. At first, the dumplings fell apart in the boiling water, and the filling oozed (溢出) out everywhere. My fingers were sore from rubbing the dough, and I even considered giving up. But when I thought of my mother’s smile, I kept trying. On the morning of her birthday, I woke up at 5 o’clock, determined to make the perfect dumplings for her.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题纸的相应位置作答。

【答案】One possible version
When my mother walked into the kitchen, she froze in surprise, her eyes widening at the scene before her. The soft morning sunlight filtered through the window, shining brightly on the plate of neatly folded dumplings and the familiar yellowed recipe taped on the wall. My hands were still covered with white flour, and I looked up at her with a nervous but warm smile. She stepped closer slowly, her eyes instantly filled with sparkling tears. Gently, she touched the recipe as if she were holding Grandma’s hand, then pulled me into a deep, warm hug, her voice trembling as she whispered that she was so proud of me.
When the hot, delicious dumplings were boiled and served on the table, we sat together and tasted them carefully. The moment the flavor filled my mouth, I knew I had made it. “They taste exactly like Grandma’s,” my mother said softly, wiping tears of joy from her cheeks. The warm smell and familiar taste made the kitchen full of love again, just like the old days. At that moment, I truly understood that love never fades or disappears — it is passed down from generation to generation through simple food and warm memories. On this special birthday, we tasted not only dumplings, but also the endless, lasting love that ties our family together forever.

A. Doubtful. B. Hesitant. C. Hopeful. D. Tolerant.
