Dawnell Ticarich, or Miss T, is a fourth-grade teacher at Fielding Elementary School in Utah, US. She has a fun way of connecting with her students. In her classroom, she set up an“I wish my teacher knew” mailbox so that students could share their feelings with her.
Students can write to Miss T about anything—good or bad—and put their notes in the mailbox. Miss T checks the mailbox every day at 9:45 a.m. during her break and at the end of the school day. This helps the students talk about their feelings without having to say them out loud.
Sometimes, the students just leave sweet notes. One student drew a picture of Miss T, which made her cry happy tears (眼泪). Other times, the notes talk about problems. This made Miss T realize some kids felt left out. So she changed the seating plans and taught lessons about friendship. Now, everyone feels included in her class.
Miss T loves reading the notes from her students and encourages other teachers to care for and make connections with their students. She shared her idea online. 第三节书面表达(30分):
Dear Tom,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re feeling stressed about your studies. Don’t worry. Everyone feels this way sometimes. .
As for AI in learning, I often use AI tools like DeepSeek and Doubao to help me to work out difficult problems. I also use AI to help me practice spoken English.
I think AI is very helpful. It can improve our learning efficiency, and it provides lots of resource for us. But every coin has two sides. AI also has some disadvantages. For example, sometimes it might give wrong information to us. Also, if we always ask AI for answers, we may stop thinking by ourselves and become lazy.
In my opinion, we shouldn’t depend on AI too much. We should try to think by ourselves first. If we can't solve the problems on our own,we can ask AI tools for help.
Best wishes,
Li Hua
