The traditional Beijing yard house, or siheyuan, is a special building that has experienced the test of time since the Ming dynasty. It's not just a house, but a symbol of traditionalChinese family life. Its name, which means "four-sided yard", comes from its design. The central yard of a siheyuan serves as the heart of the home, and is used for daily activities.
In a siheyuan, each side of the yard is a living area with a different purpose. The southern side is usually used for main gate, while the eastern and western sides are guest rooms. The northern side is often the most private, used for family bedrooms or living spaces. The siheyuan's open design is so special that it helps bring in plenty of sunlight and fresh air. This makes the house bright. The yard provides a place of relaxation from the busy streets outside.
Nowadays, the number of siheyuans in Beijing has reduced over the years. With the city's modernization, many yard houses were demolished to make way for apartments and business buildings.
Fortunately, there are growing actions to protect siheyuan. Many yard houses have been rebuilt and turned into hotels, museums and cultural centers, allowing visitors to enjoy the beauty of siheyuan. For those lucky enough to own a siheyuan, it's a kind of memory and pndc for a changing city. When modern development is making life more convenient, there's nothing like the sense of history and community that a siheyuan brings.

PBL in Action: How to Make the Robotics ClubGreat Again
PBL (Project-Based Learning) is all about learning by solving
real problems. You work in groups to explore challenges, work out solutions, organize activities, and improve together. Now, let's use PBL to help solve a real problem!
Sam is the leader of the Robotics Club. However, the club
faces a key problem: many members no longer join the club activities. Here's how he uses the four steps from PBL to make the club popular again.
Step 1 Find the Real Challenges
Sam surveys 10 old members: they think the activities are too hard for beginners and the tools are out of date. Hé sets a goal-win back old members and attract new ones.
Step 2 Work out Solutions Together
To solve these problems, Sam forms a group of six robot lovers. They aim for easy, fun activities with new tools. So they make a plan. Some of them find the latest Robotics sets, and others design beginner-friendly challenges. Sam also asks a teacher for advice and help.
Step 3 Organize Some Activities
Once ready, they hold a "Robotics Day": teaching step-by-step robot basics, then letting students try the mini-challenges. After that, they ask students questions like "Did you enjoy it?”"Will you return?" to see what they think of the club.
Step 4 Review & Improve
Finally, the group reviews progress: checking if old members return and new oncs join. They
also make improvemeats-for example, if students say "the challenges are too easy," they will add more difficult tasks next timc.
Students benefit greadly through project work. So if you're interested in something, wby oot
