Procedure
Step1.Read the passage and complete the mind map for Wang Xuyao.
(1) Have the students read the passage to determine the main idea of the passage.
(2) Discuss the following questions as a class.
What's the boy's name?
What places does he like in the school?
Who are his best friends?
Who is his favourite teacher? Why?
What is his favourite subject?
Are you different from him?
(3) Ask the students to read the passage again and complete the mind map.

Step2. Think about your favourites at school. Complete the table.
(1) Instruct the students to think about what they see at school, such as places, teachers,classmates, lessons, etc. Places include the library, classrooms, the gym...
Ask the students to review what they have learned in this unit and cultivate their thirst for knowledge and their love of school.
(2)Have the students complete Activity 2 individually.
Step3. Talk about your school with your partner.
(1) Work with a student to make up a conversation as an example.
(2) Have the students make up a conversation in pairs according to the information from Activity 3. Here are example questions:
What is your favourite place?
Who are your best friends?
Who is your favourite teacher? Why?
What is your favourite subject? Why?
(3) Ask three to four pairs to present to the class.
Step4. Make a poster about your favourite place, friend, teacher, or subject, and put it on the wall.
(1)Ask the students to read the example and think what they would like to write about their favourites.
(2)The students work in groups to design their poster. Encourage them to use their imagination.
(3) Each of the group members writes a paragraph about some of his/her favourites on a card and cut the card into any shape they like.
(4) Have the students stick all the cards on their group poster and decorate it.
Step5. Talk about the posters.
(1) Introduce Wang Xuyao's favourites as an example.
(2) Have the students work in groups to introduce their posters.
(3) Vote for the group with the best poster and introductions to stimulate students' enthusiasm for participation.
Extension
Class work: Find out the most popular favourites in the class.
(1) According to the posters in Activity 4,divide the class into several groups. Each group is responsible for one category. For example, Group 1 needs to figure out the most popular place. Group 2 needs to figure out the most popular subject...
(2) Have a member from each group present their data to the class.
