A Southwest China’s Yunnan province is a popular tourist destination known for its pleasant temperate weather, splendid natural scenery and lively folk customs. Lijiang Ancient Town The Lijiang Ancient Town has been a major commercial, political and cultural center of the Naxi people for over eight centuries. It is well-known for the Naxi people’s native Dongba culture and their deep spiritual connection to nature. Snow-capped mountain vistas, ancient architecture and streets, clear canals and waterways, together with the Naxi people and their distinct culture, combine to make Lijiang leave a lasting cultural value to humankind. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Looking north from the Lijiang Ancient Town 15 kilometers away, the snow-covered mountain surrounded by clouds looks like a jade dragon lying in the clouds, hence the name Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It is a natural habitat for rare animals and wild plants, and in fact, one fourth of all plants in China can be found here, growing in different temperature levels and creating varied views. Stone Forest, Kunming Located in Shilin Yi autonomous county of Kunming, Yunnan’s capital, the Stone Forest scenic area is famous for its unique karst landscape and long complex geological history. Listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, it covers 350 square kilometers near Kunming, with tree-shaped stalagmite-like rocks formed 270 million years ago, known as the “Sculpture Museum of Nature”. Honghe Hani Rice Terraces The Honghe Hani Rice Terraces, a cultural heritage site, is located in Yuanyang county, Honghe prefecture. Covering about 666.67 square kilometers with a history of more than 1,300 years, it is the product of a special farming method and reflects the Hani people’s unique traditions and religious views. It was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2013. 21. What is the feature of Lijiang Ancient Town? A. Complete local architecture. B. Naxi Dongba culture and natural connection. C. The only cultural center for Naxi people. D. Waterway system well protected for 1300 years. 22. Which site is home to rare species? A. Lijiang Ancient Town B. Stone Forest, Kunming C. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain D. Honghe Hani Rice Terraces 23. Where is the passage most probably taken from? A. A nature report. B. A reference book. C. A geography magazine. D. A travel brochure. B In 2019, 40-year-old Vichitra Senthil Kumar felt a nameless anxiety. Though living a content life in Tiruppur with her husband and teenage son, working well at her husband’s plastic recycling business, she still struggled with dissatisfaction. She was a former school and college football player but marriage and family interrupted that path. A turning point came when she joined a charity group at her maternal uncle’s request. After work, she attended various social work programmes, and her husband noticed her newfound happiness, suggesting this might be her life ambition. Kumar was good at community work and was elected the group’s president in 2021. At the age of 44, she started a new donated milk center. That year, Tiruppur’s Government Medical College Hospital asked her team for help to provide milk to premature, abandoned babies or those whose mothers couldn’t feed them due to illness. Many migrant workers in Tiruppur’s textile industry, who make up half of the 60,000 workers and live a hard life, often abandon their babies. Initially unaware of these babies’ difficult situation, Kumar was deeply moved after seeing a 600-gram baby in the newborn care unit. She resolved to collect breast milk wherever possible. Making use of her network, she collects milk even from 300 km away in Bangalore, and provides expensive pumps and pouches to donating mothers. Convincing women to donate was tough; some families opposed it. Kumar avoids pushing them, but some women secretly donate milk without their family’s knowledge. Once, a man contacted her, and his wife donated 117 litres of milk over nine months. The hospital says 25% of babies in the newborn care unit benefit from the donated milk. Today, Kumar’s donated milk center has become a great support for countless weak babies in Tiruppur. What started as a personal journey to fill the emptiness in her own life has grown into a mission that brings warmth and hope to families in need. 24. Who helped Kumar find her life goal? A. Her husband. B. Her son. C. Her uncle. D. Weak sick mothers. 25. What is the motivation for Kumar to collect breast milk? A. To know these babies’ difficult situation. B. To help Government Medical College Hospital. C. To help those babies in poor condition. D. To take advantage of her network. 26. What can we infer from paragraph 4? A. All families supported milk donation. B. Some women donated despite family objection. C. Kumar forced others to donate. D. Most newborns benefited from donated milk. 27. What is the main idea of the passage? A. Kumar did charity despite opposition. B. Kumar built a milk collection network. C. Premature babies’ difficult situation. D. Kumar found purpose via milk center. C A group of farmers in Nigeria are using a new method to grow crops from moisture (水汽) in the air. The method, known as aeroponics, does not use soil. Instead, plant roots hang in the air and take in nutrients from water mist. The method could make a big difference in places where huge amounts of land have been made unfarmable. Biochemist Samson Ogbole is popularly known as Nigeria’s smart farmer. He and his team are growing crops without soil at the technology-based farm they started three years ago in Abeokuta. Ogbole says they are working hard to end the seasonal food shortage in Nigeria. “It is just farming anytime during the year, meaning we can plant crops anytime during the year, and we can harvest anytime during the year.” But setting up the aeroponics farm was not easy. It required more than $180,000. And people in Abeokuta boycotted this nontraditional method of farming. It took a lot of effort to change those people’s minds about it. In fact, in Nigeria, about 30 million hectares of farmland is being used, instead of the 78.5 million hectares required for food security. In the north, only 49 percent of the land is fertile, a situation that worries traditional farmers. Aeroponics, however, does not require traditional farm work or much land. Nutrients for the plants are controlled by a recycling system, greatly increasing productivity. Dr. Phillip Ojo, Director-General of the National Agricultural Seeds Council, says the government welcomes the new farming method. Ojo notes that with aeroponics, farmers can quickly increase planting materials. The agricultural industry represents about 40 percent of Nigeria’s economy. The government wants to greatly expand this percentage. For now, most farmers lack the technical knowledge to increase productivity. They also need access to high-quality seeds to guarantee better harvests. Technologically skilled farmers like Samson Ogbole are offering a new way forward. 28. What can be known about aeroponics? A. It is not affected by the seasons. B. It helps crops draw nutrients from the soil. C. It will make the condition of the soil worse. D. It is aimed at bringing back farmland. 29. Why are Ogbole and his team working hard? A. To reduce the aeroponics farm in Nigeria. B. To tackle the seasonal food insufficiency in Nigeria. C. To get more support and help from other countries. D. To help the poor all over the world. 30. What does the underlined word “boycotted” mean in paragraph 3? A. Welcomed. B. Approved. C. Obtained. D. Resisted. 31. What is Dr. Phillip Ojo’s attitude to aeroponics? A. Doubtful. B. Unclear. C. Supportive. D. Opposed. D Bubble tea, a globally popular drink, is often seen as a harmless treat. However, emerging research and medical reports indicate that its health and safety risks are more significant than many consumers realize, extending beyond mere high sugar content. One of the most immediate dangers is choking from tapioca pearls. A 2019 study documented a case where a teenager needed emergency surgery to remove a pearl stuck in her airway. The study identified 16 similar choking incidents in medical literature. The pearls’ size and common use of wide straws encourage swallowing without proper chewing, creating a real risk, especially for children. The well-documented high sugar level is another major concern. A typical serving can contain shockingly high amounts of sugar, sometimes exceeding 50 grams. This far surpasses the World Health Organization’s recommended daily intake of free sugars. Regular consumption is strongly linked to an increased risk of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and other metabolic disorders. Some national food agencies have even categorized bubble tea as a “sugar-sweetened beverage” subject to public health warnings. Beyond sugar, the drink often contains considerable amounts of caffeine and food additives. The caffeine, primarily from tea base, can lead to anxiety, sleep disturbances, and palpitations, especially in young people. A 2023 Taiwanese study found that some bubble teas contained enough caffeine to exceed the recommended daily limit for adolescents in just one serving. Furthermore, additives like thickeners and artificial flavors, while approved for use, raise questions about long-term health effects when consumed frequently. While an occasional bubble tea is unlikely to cause harm, the combination of choking risks, extreme sugar content, and potential overconsumption of caffeine and additives presents a serious public health challenge. Understanding these hidden risks is crucial for making informed choices, particularly for younger, frequent consumers. 32. What did the 2019 study reveal about choking incidents? A. They are the leading cause of teen death. B. They have been documented several times. C. They can be avoided by chewing pearls. D. They are often misdiagnosed by doctors. 33. What can be inferred about bubble tea’s caffeine? A. It is more harmful than sugar. B. Its effects are reduced by milk. C. One cup may be over a teen’s limit daily. D. It causes immediate heart attacks. 34. How does the author develop the passage? A. By listing research findings. B. By comparing popular drinks. C. By describing production steps. D. By sharing personal stories. 35. Which is the best title for the text? A. Why Bubble Tea Is So Popular B. The Hidden Threats of Bubble Tea C. How to Make Healthy Bubble Tea D. The Sweet Taste of Bubble Tea 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Essential Habits for High School Students High school is a critical stage for building academic foundations and lifelong learning skills. While many students spend hours studying, only those with effective habits achieve steady progress. 36 37 High school life is full of various extracurricular activities and competitions, which may hold back your regular study. A consistent study schedule is key to keeping learning on track — dedicate 30-45 minutes of focused study daily. This small daily commitment can train your brain to concentrate more easily over time. Besides, prioritize tasks wisely: focus on difficult subjects when energetic and finish key tasks first to boost efficiency. Every student has unique preferences for a productive study environment. 38 A tidy and personalized space helps you get into the learning zone faster. Keep your desk tidy with only essential supplies to stay focused and reduce stress. Note-taking is more than copying classroom content; well-structured notes boost study efficiency. 39 Try these techniques in your daily study routine, such as separating main points from details, using mind maps, and highlighting key information for easy review. Set specific and achievable goals instead of vague plans. 40 Memory fades over time, and without active revision, you can lose up to 70% of new information within 24 hours. Regular revision counteracts this natural forgetting process. Meanwhile, don’t ignore self-care. Aim for 8 to 9 hours of sleep every night to keep your energy high. Taking part in school sports can help you focus better, and eating healthy snacks can keep your energy up while studying. A. Stick to a regular schedule and prioritize tasks. B. Focus on easy subjects first to save time and energy. C. Copy all classroom content to avoid missing key points. D. These essential study habits help you study smarter and reduce stress. E. Adopt practical note-taking methods to make your notes well-structured. F. Spend 10-15 minutes reviewing notes after studying to reinforce memory. G. Choose a quiet study area or play soft background music based on your preference. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。 Eric LeGrand was once a promising football star at Rutgers University. Her dream was to win the Young Artist for Change competition, which required works themed around “Our Planet, Our Future.” However, Mia had a problem — she only liked painting “beautiful” things: perfect sunsets, colorful flowers, and peaceful forests. She avoided anything messy or ugly. “Mia, art isn’t just about beauty,” her art teacher, Ms. Rivera, often said. “Sometimes, art needs to tell the truth, even if the truth is painful.” But Mia didn’t listen. She prepared a painting of a crystal-clear ocean with dolphins jumping above the waves. It was pretty, but it felt hollow. One Saturday, Mia went for a walk along the coast to get inspiration. She expected the usual postcard view — blue water and golden sand. Instead, she was shocked. The beach was covered with plastic waste: bottles, bags, fishing nets, and broken toys. A seagull (海鸥) was trapped in a plastic ring, struggling weakly. The smell was terrible. Mia stood there, frozen. She saw a group of volunteers picking up trash. An old woman handed her a pair of gloves and said, “We clean every weekend, but more plastic comes every tide. People don’t see this. They only see the postcard.” That night, Mia couldn’t sleep. She looked at her pretty ocean painting and suddenly felt it was meaningless and empty. It was a lie. The real ocean was dying, and she had been painting fantasy. She set her pretty ocean painting aside and picked up her brush, her hand shaking with resolve. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式作答。 Paragraph 1: The next morning, Mia made a bold decision — to start a completely new painting. _____________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: On the day of the competition, Mia stood nervously in front of her finished work. ______________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________ 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025—2026学年度第二学期期中教学质量监测 高二英语参考答案及评分标准 第二部分 阅读理解(共两节,满分50分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题2.5分,满分37.5分) 21. As we all know, perseverance is of great importance to us. It is perseverance that helps us achieve our goals and overcome adversity. I once fell far behind in my English writing. Although I failed many times and felt discouraged, I persisted in daily practice: reading model essays, analyzing their structures and revising my drafts repeatedly. Months later, I finally made great progress. This experience taught me that nothing is impossible for a willing heart. As students, we may struggle with various challenges, but as long as we hold on to our goals with perseverance, we are bound to turn our dreams into reality. Thank you for your listening! 参考范文2 Dear fellow students, I’m Li Hua. It is my great honor to talk about “The Power of Perseverance”. Perseverance is like a bright lamp, guiding us through hard times and leading us to success. Tu Youyou, for instance, faced numerous failures while researching a cure for malaria. Instead of giving up, she kept testing different methods and studying ancient texts tirelessly. Her years of unwavering perseverance finally led to the discovery of artemisinin, which has saved millions of lives worldwide. Her success proves that perseverance, even in the face of repeated setbacks, leads to miracles. Let’s stick to our goals and never lose heart! Thank you for your listening! 第二节 读后续写(满分25分) Paragraph 1: The next morning, Mia made a bold decision — to start a completely new painting. She returned to the beach, this time with a sketchbook and a mission. She drew the trapped seagull, the plastic-choked shoreline, and the tired volunteers. Back in her studio, she abandoned her pretty brushes for darker tones — grays, browns, and murky greens. She painted the harsh reality: a beautiful seagull crying inside a plastic ring, with a faint, faded sunset in the background — a memory of what was being lost. Ms. Rivera visited and smiled softly. “Now you’re painting the truth, Mia.” Paragraph 2: On the day of the competition, Mia stood nervously in front of her finished work. Other paintings showed pretty landscapes and smiling animals. Hers was raw and unsettling. When the judges came to her piece, they stopped. One judge, an environmental artist, asked quietly, “Where did you see this?” Mia told him about the Saturday beach and the trapped seagull. The judge was deeply impressed by her courage and honesty. He nodded and said, “This is not just art. It’s a cry for action.” A week later, Mia didn’t win the first prize — she won the Special Award for Truth. Her painting was printed on posters for a beach clean-up campaign. Mia finally understood that art’s greatest power is not to decorate the world, but to wake it up. 以下为选择题答题区(必须用2B铅笔将选中项涂满、涂黑,黑度以盖住框内字母为准) 阅读理解(50分) 21 CAJ CB]CCJ CD] 26 CA]CB]CC]CD] 31 CA]CB]CC]CD] 36 CAJ CB]CC]CD]CE]CF]CG] 22 CA]CB]CC]CD] 27 CA]CB]CC]CD] 32 CA]CB]CC]CD] 37 CA]CB]CC]CD]CE]CF]CGJ 23 CA]CB]CC]CD] 28 CAJ CB3 CC3CD] 33 CA]CB]CC]CD] 38 CA]CB]CC]CD]CE]CF]CG] 24 CA]CB]CC]CD] 29 CA]CB]CC]CD] 34 CA]CB]CC]CD] 39 CA]CB]CC]CD]CE]CF]CG] 25 CA]CB]CC]CD] 30 CA]CB]CC]CD] 35 CA]CB]CC]CD] 40 CAJ CB]CC]CD]CEJ CF]CGJ 完形填空(15分) 41 CA]CB]CC]CD] 45 CA]CB]CC]CD] 49 CA]CB]CC]CD] 53 CA]CB]CC]CD] 42 CA]CB]CC]CD] 46 CA]CB]CC]CD] 50 CA]CB]CC]CD] 54 CA]CB]CC]CD] 43 CA]CB]CC]CD] 47 CAJ CB]CC]CD] 51 CA]CB]CC]CD] 55 CA]CB]CC]CD] 44 CAJ CB]CC]CD] 48 CA]CB]CC]CD] 52 CA]CB]CC]CD] 以下为非选择题答题区,必须用黑色字迹的签字笔或钢笔在线框指定的区域内作答,否则答案无效 语法填空(15分) 56. 57. 58. 59. 60 61 62. 63 64. 65 ■口 【高二英语答题卡第1 写作第一节(15分) Dear fellow students, I'm Li Hua.It is my great honor to talk about "The Power of Perseverance" Thank you for your listening! 页(共2页)】 ■ ■ 第二节读后续写(25分) The next morning,Mia made a bold decision-to start a completely new painting. 【高二英语答题卡第2 On the day of the competition,Mia stood nervously in front of her finished work. 页(共2页)】 口■
