Have you ever felt your body shake uncontrollably from cold or exercise? Shivering is a common bodily reaction and our body’s smart way to protect itself. Let’s learn the reasons.
The most common reason is to stay warm. When the temperature drops, our skin senses the cold and sends a message to the brain. The brain tells our muscles to contract and relax quickly. This rapid movement is shivering. Muscles produce heat when they work. This heat keeps the vital parts of our body working the right way.
