Wang Yongxian, who was born in 1950 in Taiyuan, the capital of north China’s Shanxi Province, is a Chinese expert in the restoration of ancient Chinese buildings. Since 1972, Wang has restored over 100 precious ancient buildings.
At the age of 22, Wang joined the cultural relics working committee of Shanxi Province working on surveys, mapping, and restoration of ancient buildings. For years, he roamed the wilderness, devoting himself to the preservation of temples and pagodas (佛塔).
At that time, many valuable historical buildings had suffered severe damage from natural elements, leaving them ruined and on the edge of collapse. Wang saw himself as a “firefighter” on the front lines, racing against time to rescue these structures.
In his early 20s, Wang once dreamed of a more attractive city life and even considered changing jobs. But witnessing the devotion and sacrifice of senior experts changed his mind. One day, while accompanying Chinese architectural historian Luo Zhewen to inspect the Wooden Pagoda of Yingxian county, Wang watched as Luo — despite being in his sixties — climbed shaky beams (横梁) inside the tower without any safety railing. This commitment deeply moved him. “I must pass the mission of protecting ancient buildings to younger generations, turning our pioneers’ spirit into action,” Wang said.
Thanks to the painstaking efforts of Wang and his colleagues over the decades, an increasing number of ancient buildings across Shanxi, such as Foguang Temple, Chongfu Temple, Guandi Temple, Jinci Temple’s Shengmu Hall, and Xuankong Temple, have been revitalized and opened to the public.
After retiring from his job, Wang’s love for ancient architecture has not diminished a bit. He immersed himself in research, learned woodworking techniques, created models of Dougong, and published many monographs and papers. “I have had an inseparable bond with ancient buildings throughout my life. I feel deeply pleased to contribute a little to the conservation of ancient architectural culture,” Wang said.
24. Which of the following best describes Wang according to the first two paragraphs?
A. A highly skilled craftsman. B. A knowledgeable architect.
C. A dedicated preservationist. D. A widely influential historian.
25. What does paragraph 3 indicate about the ancient building restoration?
A. It is a slow and complex process. B. It has significant cultural impacts.
C. It needs great efforts and funding. D. It is extremely important and urgent.
26. How did Luo’ s deed influence Wang?
A. It pushed him to change his major. B. It started his love for ancient buildings.
C. It inspired him to stick to his work. D. It fueled his desire to become an architect.
27. Which of the following can be a suitable title for the passage?
A. Challenges of Restoring Ancient Architecture
B. Lifelong Dedication to Restoring Ancient Buildings
C. The Path to Becoming an Architectural Preservationist
D. The Role of Senior Experts in Cultural Heritage Preservation

On December 6, 2025, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York launched its AR Ancient Egyptian Art Immersive Exhibition, a project designed to let visitors “interact” with 3D-rendered relics like the Rosetta Stone replica (复制品) via mobile devices. A December 2025 research brief from Museum Management and Curatorship pointed out that while global museums have rushed to adopt AR technology since 2025, few have studied how different age groups respond to such digital experiences.
To fill this gap, the Met teamed up with researchers to conduct a 10-day trial from January 8 to 17. They divided 300 visitors into two groups: Group A (18–25 years old, digital natives) and Group B (60+ years old, traditional museum-goers). Each visitor was given a pre-installed AR device and asked to complete three tasks: “touch” a virtual papyrus scroll, “assemble” a broken statue, and “listen” to a simulated ancient priest’s narration. Researchers recorded their operation time, error rates, and post-visit satisfaction scores.
The results showed stark differences between the two groups. Group A finished all tasks in an average of 8 minutes with a 5% error rate, and 92% of them rated the experience “highly satisfying”, saying the AR feature made “dry historical facts come alive”. In contrast, Group B took an average of 22 minutes with a 41% error rate; 67% of them complained that the device’s operation steps were too complicated, and some even abandoned the tasks halfway. The biggest pain point for older visitors was the lack of voice guidance — they had to rely on text instructions that were hard to read on small screens.
On January 10, 2026, the museum revised the AR system based on the feedback: it added one-click activation, voice prompts in multiple languages, and enlarged text options. A follow-up survey of 50 Group B visitors who re-experienced the exhibition found that their average task time dropped to 12 minutes, error rate fell to 12%, and satisfaction jumped to 89%. Dr. Lisa Carter, the lead researcher, noted, “Digitalization in museums shouldn’t just cater to young people. The key to success is to design inclusive experiences that bridge the tech gap between generations.”
28. What is the main content of Paragraph 2?
A. The process of the research trial.
B. The purpose of the AR exhibition.
C. The problems of the AR device.
D. The results of the satisfaction survey.
29. What does the underlined word “stark” in Paragraph 3 probably mean?
A. Slight. B. Delicate. C. Obvious. D. Gradual.
30. What was the main difficulty for Group B visitors in the initial trial?
A. They had no interest in ancient Egyptian art.
B. They were not familiar with the museum’s layout.
C. They did not know how to download the AR app.
D. They did not get voice guidance for the device.
31. What can we infer from Dr. Lisa Carter’s words?
A. Young people are not the target audience of museum AR exhibitions.
B. Inclusive digital design can help all visitors enjoy museum experiences.
C. The Met’s AR exhibition will not be open to young visitors anymore.
D. Traditional museum experiences are more popular than digital ones.

Starting in early March, dozens of large, modern white machines began moving through the farmland in the Netherlands. These machines are AI-enabled agricultural robots tasked with spotting special tulip bulbs (郁金香球茎) to ensure a healthy tulip season. Such a robot is one of many new autonomous tools making their way onto farms worldwide.
The robot, designed by a company called H2L Robotics, is officially called “Selector 180”. It uses GPS coordinates (坐标) to autonomously drive through tulip fields and uses cameras to take thousands of photos. An AI model then analyzes the photos and looks for the potentially diseased bulbs, which are often identifiable by distinctive red lines on the bulbs’ leaves. The robot then picks them out and separates them from the healthy ones to prevent the disease from spreading.
H2L Robotics Managing Director Erik de Jong said their AI models were trained using the knowledge of specialized tulip farmers, known as “sickness spotters”, who previously performed the laborious inspections by hand. H2L Robotics showed the farmers a number of images, and they then pointed out bulbs with signs of the virus. In this way, farmers helped train the Selector 180’s model. As more farmers participated, the Selector 180’s accuracy improved.
Machines like Selector l80 will become increasingly important. Erik de Jong noted that these human spotters are typically older individuals who have been spotting sick tulips for decades, and their population is decreasing, posing a real problem.
Farmers globally have been taking advantage of modern techniques to improve harvests with lower costs. In addition to autonomous robots, farmers are using drones (无人机), satellite imagery, and remote sensors to detect diseases or chemicals. Erik de Jong suggests systems like the Selector 180 could detect sickness in other crops, like potatoes or onions.
However, robots are not a universal solution for all farmers, at least not yet. Autonomous technology and AI require strong wireless Internet and large databases, which may not be available in some developing countries. Some fruits and vegetables can be easily damaged by machine harvesting. Moreover, it may take time and data to determine if the earlier cost of automation is profitable for farmers.
32. How does the author introduce the topic of the text?
A. By explaining a technical term. B. By describing a scene on a farm.
C. By introducing a natural phenomenon. D. By predicting future agricultural trends.
33. What is the main function of the Selector 180?
A. To record the growth cycle of tulips. B. To water crops using GPS technology.
C. To take photos of healthy tulip leaves. D. To detect and remove sick tulip bulbs.
34. What can be inferred about the AI model’s accuracy?
A. It varies greatly based on tulip species. B. It relies on human spotters’ sharp sight.
C. It benefits from the wisdom of crowds. D. It functions by checking leaf chemicals.
35. What’s the author’s attitude towards the wide application of robots in agriculture?
A. Objective. B. Appreciative. C. Supportive. D. Dismissive.

My name is Mae. I’ve always been passionate about exploring and solving problems — whether fixing a broken toy or figuring out how a phone app works. This led me to join our school’s Coding (编程) Club. In our first lesson, Ms. Davis told us that coding is more than writing lines of code. It is about using technology to make life easier for others.
“Your project,” she announced in class one day, “is to create a simple app that solves a real-life problem.” “You have one week to prepare,” she added gently, hoping this would give us enough time to find inspiration and finish the project.
The challenge stayed with me as I walked to my neighbor Mrs. Thompson’s apartment after school. She had invited me for tea, as she often did on Tuesdays. Mrs. Thompson was kind and cheerful, but lately she had been a little forgetful, often misplacing her keys or repeating the same story twice without realizing it. When I arrived, she was in the kitchen.
“Mae! Good timing,” she greeted me warmly, and then stopped, glancing at the kettle. “Did I already boil water for tea?”
I checked the kettle — it was still warm. We laughed about it as I poured water, and soon we were chatting. Our conversation turned to her weekly book club with friends. Mrs. Thompson smiled, talking about her two old friends. Mr. Brown arrived late for the game, and Mrs. Smith failed to bring her glasses twice. “We’re quite a group,” she said.
Then her expression grew thoughtful. “We manage, of course. But sometimes I think wouldn’t it be nice if something simply reminds us? Take medicine. Water the plants. Friday for book club.” She tapped her head with a soft laugh.
Her words sank in. At that moment, an idea formed in my mind. As I stood up to leave, I smiled mysteriously, “Give me a few days, and I’ll bring you a little surprise.”
“Oh? I’ll try not to forget that,” she laughed.

【答案】24. C 25. D 26. C 27. B

【答案】28. A 29. C 30. D 31. B
【解析】

【29题详解】
词句猜测题。根据下文“Group A finished all tasks in an average of 8 minutes with a 5% error rate... In contrast, Group B took an average of 22 minutes with a 41% error rate.(A组完成所有任务平均用时8分钟,错误率为5%……相比之下,B组平均用时22分钟,错误率高达 41%。)”可知,两组用时、错误率、满意度差距十分明显,stark意为“明显的”。
【30题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段“The biggest pain point for older visitors was the lack of voice guidance — they had to rely on text instructions that were hard to read on small screens.(老年游客最大的痛点是缺少语音讲解,他们只能依靠小屏幕上难以看清的文字说明。)”可知,初始试验中B组游客的主要困难是没有设备语音指导。
【31题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段“Digitalization in museums shouldn’t just cater to young people. The key to success is to design inclusive experiences that bridge the tech gap between generations.(博物馆的数字化建设不应只迎合年轻人。成功的关键在于打造普惠包容的参观体验,消除代际之间的科技使用鸿沟。)”可知,从Lisa Carter博士的话中可推断出包容性数字设计能让所有游客享受博物馆体验。

【解析】
【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要讲述了荷兰农场使用AI农业机器人Selector 180检测并移除病郁金香球茎,以及该技术在农业中的应用前景与挑战。
【32题详解】
推理判断题。根据第一段中“Starting in early March, dozens of large, modern white machines began moving through the farmland in the Netherlands. These machines are AI-enabled agricultural robots tasked with spotting special tulip bulbs to ensure a healthy tulip season.(从3月初开始,数十台大型现代化白色机器开始在荷兰的农田中移动。这些机器是人工智能驱动的农业机器人,负责发现特殊的郁金香球茎,以确保郁金香季节的健康。)”可知,作者通过描述荷兰农场上的场景来引入文章主题。故选B。
【33题详解】
细节理解题。根据第二段“The robot, designed by a company called H2L Robotics, is officially called “Selector 180”. It uses GPS coordinates to autonomously drive through tulip fields and uses cameras to take thousands of photos. An Al model then analyzes the photos and looks for the potentially diseased bulbs, which are often identifiable by distinctive red lines on the bulb’s leaves. The robot then picks them out and separates them from the healthy ones to prevent the disease from spreading.(这款机器人由一家名为H2L Robotics的公司设计,官方名称为“Selector 180”。它使用GPS坐标在郁金香田中自主行驶,并使用相机拍摄数千张照片。然后,一个人工智能模型分析这些照片,寻找可能患病的球茎,这些球茎通常可以通过球茎叶子上的独特红线来识别。然后,机器人将它们挑出来,与健康的球茎分开,以防止疾病传播。)”可知,Selector 180的主要功能是检测并移除患病的郁金香球茎。故选D。
【34题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段中“H2L Robotics showed the farmers a number of images, and they then pointed out bulbs with signs of the virus. In this way, farmers helped train the Selector 180’s model. As more farmers participated, the Selector 180’s accuracy improved.(H2L Robotics向农民展示了一些图像,然后他们指出了有病毒迹象的球茎。通过这种方式,农民帮助训练了Selector 180的模型。随着越来越多的农民参与,Selector 180的准确性得到了提高。)”可知,随着更多农民的参与,Selector 180的准确性得到了提高,这体现了“集体的智慧”对AI模型准确性的益处。故选C。
【35题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段“However, robots are not a universal solution for all farmers, at least not yet. Autonomous technology and AI require strong wireless Internet and large databases, which may not be available in some developing countries. Some fruits and vegetables can be easily damaged by machine harvesting. Moreover, it may take time and data to determine if the earlier cost of automation is profitable for farmers.(然而,机器人并不是所有农民的通用解决方案,至少目前还不是。自主技术和人工智能需要强大的无线网络和大型数据库,这在一些发展中国家可能并不具备。一些水果和蔬菜很容易被机器采摘损坏。此外,可能需要时间和数据来确定早期的自动化成本是否对农民有利。)”可知,作者既提到了机器人和AI在农业中的优势,也指出了其面临的挑战和限制,因此作者的态度是客观的。故选A。

Show up for Inter-class Running
Lately, I’ve noticed more students skipping our daily inter-class run. To many of them, the run feels like another chore.
But from my perspective, the run is a valuable “Brain Break.” It not only boosts our well-being, but it sharpens focus for upcoming lessons.
If you’ve found it hard to show up, here are some great ideas. Having a partner to share a chat can make the distance feel shorter. Setting a small weekly reward for perfect attendance is also a great motivator.

第二节(满分25分)
67. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
注意:
(1)续写词数应为150个左右;

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】 That night, I sat at my desk, notebook open and mind racing with details. I decided to design a gentle reminder app especially for the elderly. I listed simple functions: important dates, daily tasks, and warm notes. I focused on making the words big and the buttons easy to touch. Whenever I felt stuck, I thought of Mrs. Thompson’s kind smile and her wish for something to help her remember. I carefully tested every part again and again, making sure it was simple and helpful. Deep in my heart, I hoped this little app could bring convenience and warmth to her and more elderly people.
A week later, I presented my project to Ms. Davis. I introduced the app’s purpose and showed how it worked. Ms. Davis praised my thoughtful idea and spoke highly of my project. After class, I brought the app to Mrs. Thompson. She was delighted and tried it at once. “This is exactly what I need,” she said happily. Watching her smile, I truly understood what Ms. Davis had meant: coding is not just code, but a way to use technology to care for others.
