第一节
One possible version:
A Meaningful Security Education Day
On April 15th,our school held a series of activities with the theme ofNational security starts with me.
In the morning,we attended a lecture on cyber security and ecological security. The speaker explained
how our daily behavior, like protecting passwords, matters. In the afternoon, each class had a discussion
meeting. We shared examples of how students can help keep our school and community safe.
These activities deeply impressed me.I used to think national security was only about soldiers and
borders. Now I realize it also includes information safety and environmental protection. As a student,I will
start with small things:be careful online, obey laws, and spread positive energy.National security truly starts
with me.
第二节
One possible version:
The next day during break,Asher saw the same kids pulling leaves just like before. This time,he didn't
walk away. His heart pounded, but Grandpa's words echoed in his mind:courage means doing what is right
even when you are afraid.Taking a shaky breath,Asher stepped forward."Hey,"he said, his voice barely
above a whisper."Please stop."The kids turned,surprised."Leaves help trees breathe,"Asher continued,
trying to sound calm."If you pull them all off,the tree could get sick and die."For a long moment, nobody
spoke. Then one boy dropped the leaf in his hand."Really?he asked."I never thought about that."Asher
nodded, feeling a small wave of confidence."Instead of hurting it,"he suggested,"we could protect it
together."
The kids soon agreed to Ashers suggestion. They fetched cardboard and bright markers from the
classroom and made a large sign that read:"Protect Our Tree-It Gives Us Shade and Clean Air."Together,
they tied it to the oak tree.Over the next few weeks, the group took turns watering the tree and picking up
litter around it.Asher no longer sat alone during break. He stood and laughed with his new friends under the
spreading branches. One afternoon,Grandpa came to pick him up and saw the sign. His eyes shone with
pride."You see,Asher?"he said quietly."You took care of the tree, and the tree brought you friends."Asher
smiled, feeling the warm sun and an even warmer sense of belonging. He finally understood:when we take
care of plants, they take care of us in ways we never expect.

M:Do you think playing chess can be considered a sport?I doubt it.
W:I guess so.It is a game of planning, just like football. It also involves a lot of practice to become the
best.(1)
M:I never thought of it like that before. Thanks
Text 2
M:I was in the travel agency yesterday, and you'll never guess who served me.

Text 8
W:I'm a bit worried about my interview tomorrow.(10)What if they ask me something I don't know?
M:If they do,just think of the best way to answer the question, and if you really don't know, ask them to

became good friends!(16)
Text10(第17题为总结题)
Greetings to you all. It's lovely to have so many visitors from China.(18)Today,I'm thrilled to
share insights into a very special aspect of Western European culture and history:the tradition of building
castles. These structures, spread across the landscapes of our countries, offer a view into our rich history and
the way of life hundreds of years ago. These castles, dating mainly from the 9th to the 15th centuries, were
not only military buildings but also centers of political and social life.Built in carefully chosen positions,
they served as symbols of power and wealth. Now,let's look at the key features of these magnificent
structures.Castles were often situated on top of hills, providing a strategic advantage in defense.(19)
The outer walls, bridges, and water around them were designed to scare off enemies.Within the walls,
you'd find a central tower, which is the ruler's residence,(20)and other various buildings like soldiers'
accommodation.Life within a castle was a complex mixture of politics,warfare,and everyday activities.As
you explore these architectural wonders, you'll witness the complex work and clever design that went into
their construction. It displays the hard work and intelligence of the period and the rich history of Western
European culture.
解析
A
3
runners along Chapman's Peak, one of the world's most spectacular coastal drives”(沿着世界最壮观的海
解析:定位到表格“Half Marathon(半程马拉松)”一列,“Licensed SA Athletes(持证南非选手)”的
报名费为R450.00。中国选手属于“International Athletes(国际选手)”,其对应的报名费为R2160.00。
其他选项:A(R2160)
供必要信息。其他选项:A(比较两种赛事)是手段而非主要目的;B(推广开普敦旅游)不是重点;
D(分析经济影响)仅在背景中一笔带过。
B
problems''。 A选
项Ese(缓解)与之对应。B(引起)、C(忽视)、D(发现)均不符合语境,代入后逻辑矛盾。
A(解释
A(通过产生一种特殊信号)一声波本身是物理振
解析:第五段指出,能够响应雨声的种子很可能处于“perfect depth to take in water and safely grow to the
选项D以“A Wake-Up Call''(叫醒电话/警钟)巧妙呼应首段feeling sleepy'与尾段“accelerate
脑)一以偏概全,平衡石仅是机制中的一环,非全文核心:C(超越声音:水如何影响种子生长)
A(比较
A(对先前努力的记忆)一文中未提及:B(对任务难度的评估)
(rebounded)。
D选项是对原文“suppressed this circuit'”和made them significantly
more willing to start'的精准转述。
判断改变)一原文明确说“did not change how the animals weighed reward against punishment'';C(对
treatments'',“certain mental illnesses'”对应mental disorders such as.”,概括准确且无过度。A(为大脑
深部脑刺激能够修改通路”:C(帮助训练实验动物)一无中生有;D(取代传统行为疗法)一原
其他选项:A(它经得起高强度使用)虽符合内容,但
更适合作第二段主旨句,放在此处逻辑跳跃:D(相比之下,人造草皮性能稳定)缺少前文对比对象;
F(人造草皮不需要这些护理)指代不明。
其他选项:B(抗冲击、减震)属于安全性能,应在最后一段:C(人造草皮不容易受影响)表
述模糊;E(给运动员带来能量)文中未提及。
In contrast'
其他选项:C(人造草皮不容易影响它们)
其他选项:C(不容易影响它们)不符合语境;E(带来能量)
其他选项:C(给运动员带来活力)与本段安全主题无关;E

exhausted(疲惫)、anxious(焦
后文明确提到the outside of Trader Joe's”(Trader
map(地图)、message(信息)、notice(通知)均与后文不符。
43.B作者试图指路,但对方不懂英语,指路行为反而让她更困惑。helped(帮助)与but转折矛盾;
excited(兴奋)、troubled(烦恼)均不符合语境。
eventually
hesitantly(犹豫地)与作者乐于助人的态度矛盾。carefully
recognize(认出)、ensure(确保)、
prove(证明)不如leam贴切。
store(商店)、cat(购物车)、factory(工
clerk(店员,范围太广)、
customer(顾客)、manager(经理)均不符合。
有趣)、harder(更难)、stranger(更奇怪)不符合当时心理。
50.B后文提到that loaf of bread'和gave me more bread',可见老妇人递给作者的是“一条面包”。
receipt(收据)、envelope(信封)、bag(袋子)均错误。
51.A告别时“tight”通常修饰拥抱(tight hug),且后文有“one more hug''佐证。nod(点头)、handshake
(握手)、smile(微笑)均不符合。
called(叫出名字)、
mentioned(提及)、forgot(忘记)均不准确。
warmer
(更温暖)、shallower(更浅)、sweeter(更甜)均不如bigger贴切。
emerged(出现)、ceased
shape(塑造)、refresh(使清新)、accompany
China's intangible cultural
heritage workshops.have preserved traditional crafts, created jobs and boosted local economies”。中间插
入的“
_are proving to be powerful forces for rural revitalization”是一个非限制性定语从句,修
(distribute)across 2,005
county-level regions,have generated..”
分析“through home-based production
daily wage models”
分析“.introduced policies_(support)and manage
these workshops.”
故填to support。.
固定搭配pair A with
故填with。
output value
300 million yuan
64.had grown
“the number
(grow)
to nearly4,000 by March2025.”
由“reflecting the
(effective)of these
preservation efforts.” effective
Hello, international friends club, can I help you? Oh. hello. It's lovely to have so many visitors from china today. I'm drilled to share insights into a very specific aspect of western european culture and history. The tradition of building castles. These structures spread across the landscapes of our countries, offer a view into our rich history and the way of life. Hundreds of years ago, these castles, dating mainly from the north to the fifteen th centuries, were not only military buildings, but also centers of political and social life built in carefully chosen positions. They served as symbols of power and wealth. Now lets look at the key features of these magnificent structures. Castles were often situated on top of hills, providing a strategic advantage in defense, the outer walls, bridges and water around them, or designed to scare off enemies. Within the walls you'd find a central tower, which is the rulers, residents and other various buildings like soldiers as accommodation. Life within a castle was a complex mixture of politics, warfare and everyday activities. As you explore these architectural wonders, you'll witness the complex work and clever design that went into their construction. IT displaces the hard work and intelligence of the period and the rich history of west european and culture. Greetings to you all. It's lovely to have so many visitors from china today. Who will take care of grandma and grandpa when no one is available? This question is becoming urgent
as the population is aging rapidly and fewer children are being born. For many families, the answer might
soon be a robot.
This might sound like science fiction, but the reasons are practical, mainly financial.Hiring someone to
help with aging loved ones is prohibitively expensive-upwards of $75,000 a year for a home health aide and
well over $100,000 for a nursing home.In comparison, one estimate places the cost of a humanoid robot at
just$20,000.
Given this affordability,I believe that robots will assume the care of many elderly people.A robot could
potentially be a one-time expense, requiring minimal maintenance and receiving updates through cloud
computing technology. And it could function around the clock.I've treated elderly patients who had been
found wandering the streets or severely dehydrated (because of gaps in care.A tireless robot-made
possible by improved battery life and the ability to self-charge-could mitigate such problems.Reliable
robotic companions could also accompany seniors outside the home for walks or to community events,
enhancing rather than weakening their social connections.
Furthermore, while actual human contact is preferable,it has real drawbacks.Human caregivers can lose
their tempers, but robots are unlikely to have that problem. In a recent study, observers found AI-generated
responses to be more empathetic and compassionate(有同情心的)than those of humans-a surprising but
telling result.A robot with Al-assisted voice technology could potentially understand emotion and intent,
clarify instructions, and respond to commands in real time.
But where does that leave us?If I know that grandma has her robot, will I opt not to drop by after work
when I'm exhausted? Will the neighbors stop checking on her?As her faculties fail, will she feel more at ease
with the robot than with her family?
24.What is a robot's main practical advantage in eldercare?
A.Its lower long-term cost.
B.Its guarantee of total safety.
C.Its ability to show friendship.
D.Its simple setup and operation.
25.What does the underlined word"mitigate"in paragraph 3 mean?
A.Ease.
B.Cause.
C.Ignore.
D.Discover.
26.What does the author imply by citing the AI study in paragraph 4?
A.The urgent need to replace human care
B.The potential of AI in showing empathy.
C.The general weakness of human caregivers.
D.The importance of human emotional interaction.
27.How does the author sound in the last paragraph?
A.Angry and intolerant.
B.Reflective and concerned.
C.Indifferent and dismissive.
D.Sympathetic and confused.

Next time you find yourself feeling sleepy from the pitter-patter of rain outside your window, think how
that same rain might sound if you were a tiny seed planted below a free-falling droplet.Would you still be
sleepy? In fact,MIT engineers have found the opposite to be the case:Some seeds may come alive to the
sound of rain.
Nicholas Makris,a professor of mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and
his team conducted experiments with rice seeds, which naturally grow in shallow water. They submerged(
)roughly 8,000 rice seeds in shallow water basins at a depth of about 2.5 to 3.0 centimeters and exposed
them to the sound of falling water droplets impacting the surface above. The seeds were placed away from the
impact zone so that only the sound would reach them. The team varied the droplet size and height to mimic
different rains.
The results were striking.Seeds exposed to the sound of water were able to germinate ()24 to 37
percent faster than those in identical but quiet conditions. In addition, seeds located closer to the drop impact
point sensed the sound better and grew faster.
So how do seeds"hear"raindrops? The researchers explain that when a raindrop hits the surface of a
puddle or the ground,it generates a sound wave that makes the surroundings vibrate ()including any
shallowly submerged seeds. These vibrations are intense enough to dislodge(使移位)a seed's“statoliths”-
tiny gravity-sensing organelles within certain cells of a seed.Their repeated displacement is a signal for seeds
and seedlings to grow and sprout.
The scientists believe that this mechanism offers a biological advantage:If seeds are close enough to the
surface to respond to the sound of rain, they are likely at the perfect depth to take in water and safely grow to
the surface."What this study is saying is that seeds can sense sound in ways that can help them survive,"says
Makris."The energy of the rain sound is enough to accelerate a seed's growth."
28.What is the main purpose of paragraph 2?
A.To explain the selection of subjects.
B.To highlight a specific research tool.
C.To present the experimental method.
D.To provide the study's scientific basis.
29.How do raindrop sounds make seeds grow?
A.By generating a special kind of signal.
B.By shaking some of their internal structures.
C.By replacing their gravity-sensing organelles.
D.By directly transforming vibrations into energy.
30.What advantage do rain-sensing seeds likely have?
A.Fast root growth.
B.Ideal growth position.
C.Efficient water storage.
D.Excellent hearing ability.
31.Which of the following is the best title for the text?
A.Secret Senses:How Plants Feel the World
B.Statoliths:The "Brain"Inside a Rice Seed
C.Beyond Sound:How Water Affects Seed Growth
D.A Wake-Up Call:Rain Sounds Drive Seed Growth

sentence of a report, lifting the first dish in a piled-up sink,or just getting off the couch to exercise. The
obstacle isn't necessarily a lack of interest in completing the task, but the brain's resistance to taking the first
step. Now,scientists may have identified the neural (circuit behind this resistance, and a way to ease
it.
In a study published in Current Biology, researchers describe a pathway in the brain that seems to act as a
"motivation brake",reducing the drive to begin a task. When the team selectively suppressed (this
circuit in macaque monkeys,goal-directed behaviour rebounded.
To conduct the study,Ken-ichi Amemori,a neuroscientist at Kyoto University in Japan, and his
colleagues trained two thirsty macaques to perform two distinct decision-making tasks.Completing one of
them earned a monkey a reward of water, but the other gave the animal water plus a punishment -an
unpleasant blow of air to the face. When presented with the task that also involved punishment, the monkeys
were more likely to hesitate than with the reward-only task, the researchers found.
But that changed when the team homed in on two brain regions:the ventral striatum and the ventral
pallidum, which are important for reward processing and motivation, and found that nerve cell activity in the
monkeys'brains suggests the ventral striatum might detect a potentially unpleasant experience and
subsequently suppress the ventral pallidum's activity, making the animals hesitate. They used a targeted
genetic technique to suppress signalling from the ventral striatum to the ventral pallidum.Although the
suppression had little effect on the monkeys'behaviour during the reward-only trials,it made them
significantly more willing to start in the face of a potentially unpleasant outcome. The suppression did not,
however, change how the animals weighed reward against punishment.
Future research could build on the findings to develop treatments for mental disorders that are often
accompanied by a lack of motivation, such as depression and schizophrenia. For instance, drugs or deep brain
stimulation might be able to modify the pathway between the ventral striatum and the ventral pallidum. The
discovery might also help psychotherapists tailor cognitive behavioral therapy (to their clients.

Artificial turf()is becoming increasingly popular for sports fields.
36
Compared with
natural grass, artificial turf offers several clear advantages.
37
Sports fields often experience intense foot traffic and repeated impact.Natural grass can
wear out quickly under these conditions.Artificial turf remains stable even after frequent use.Its surface does
not wear down easily.Athletes can train and compete on a field that looks and performs the same throughout
the season. This consistency is especially valuable for venues that host multiple events in a short period of
time.
It performs well in any weather.Weather can greatly affect natural grass fields.Rain may turn them
muddy while drought can cause them to dry out and brown.38 Moreover, water passes through
quickly, preventing waterlogging()and reducing game delays.Since the field does not need time to recover
from bad weather, teams can play year-round.
It reduces maintenance and saves money.Maintaining natural grass is time-consuming and expensive. It
requires regular watering, cutting, and pest (control.39 By using less water and fewer
dangerous chemicals, artificial turf not only offers a more environment-friendly solution but also lowers
overall care expenses.
It improves playing condition and athlete safety.Artificial turf is designed to offer reliable playing
condition and safety.40 This helps reduce the risk of injuries. It is a safer option for players of
all ages because the surface is made to reduce joint stress.Furthermore, artificial turf can be adjusted to meet
certain sport requirements, ensuring top performance for every match.
A.It stands up to heavy use.
B.It resists impact well and absorbs shock.
C.Artificial turf does not affect them easily.
D.In contrast,artificial turf stays consistent.
E.It brings some energy to athletes in a sense.
F.Artificial turf does not require these kinds of care.
G.It's now widely used for many sports such as soccer.

Asher loved spending time in his grandfather's garden.Every evening,he carefully held the watering can
as his grandfather showed him how to pour just the right amount on each plant."These plants need us,Asher,"
Grandpa often said."If we take care of them, they will take care of us."
Asher loved plants. He loved their bright green leaves, the way they danced in the wind, and how fresh they

smelled after rain.Plants made him feel calm and safe. But when it came to people,Asher was not so
confident. At school,he was one of the quietest kids. While others laughed and played loudly,he often sat
alone,unsure how to join them.
One afternoon during break,Asher walked past the big oak tree (near the playground.A group of
kids stood nearby, pulling leaves from its lower branches and throwing them into the air."Look!Leaf rain!"
one of them shouted,laughing.
Asher's chest tightened. He loved trees. He knew that leaves helped trees breathe and grow.He wanted to
say something, but fear held him back. What if they laughed at him? What if they ignored him? After a
moment,he turned away and walked back to the classroom without saying a word.
That evening,Asher sat in the garden with his grandfather, watering the plants as usual, but his mind was
not at peace. His silence did not escape Grandpa. After a while,Asher shared what had happened at school and
how he felt.He explained that he wanted to protect the tree but did not feel brave enough.
His grandfather listened carefully. He told Asher that courage does not mean being fearless. It means
doing what is right, even when fear is present. He reminded Asher that change often begins with one small
voice and one brave choice. Those words stayed in Asher's mind all night.
