One possible version:
Despite the pain in her knee, Lily didn’t want to give up halfway. “I want to finish the race though we can’t win,” she said firmly. With the help of her teammates and teachers, she stood up, her legs shaking slightly but her resolve steady. They walked together towards the finish line. Anna stayed by her side, whispering words of encouragement, while the others formed a protective circle around her, making sure she didn’t trip again.
Lily, together with her teammates, began to run slowly. Students and teachers alike clapped and shouted words of encouragement, their voices forming a wave of support. Lily felt a sense of unity and belonging that she had never experienced before. With each step, the pain in her knee disappeared, overshadowed by the warmth of being surrounded by people who cared. When they finally crossed the finish line, the applause was thunderous. It wasn’t about winning or losing anymore; it was about the spirit of togetherness and support that had turned a moment of failure into a story of courage.

If you must go to town, take a bus or take a train to be safe. Some schools in the countryside are closed. The students and teachers have not been able to get to school. In the city itself, however, schools open as usual. It’s going to snow all day today, and it will last at least two days. Bad news for many, although I guess kids would be happy. A 22. C 23. D

C 25. B 26. A 27. D
根据第二段中“It took me around three months after the break-up to finally make the decision to leave and travel the world.(分手后大约三个月,我才最终决定离开,去环游世界)”以及第三段“To this day, I still remember the day I called my parents, who are also deaf, to discuss my plans to travel the world. Both of my parents gave me their full support. They told me to go ahead and helped book my flight to Thailand.(直到今天,我仍然记得那天我打电话给我的父母,他们也是聋子,讨论我环游世界的计划。我的父母都全力支持我。他们告诉我去吧,还帮我订了去泰国的机票)”可知,作者最终决定环游世界后和父母分享他的计划。故选C项。

【26题详解】主旨大意题。根据第五段“Showing the people that I met and my readers who I am makes me more confident with what I want for my life. After meeting many deaf people, I realized that I have done one thing that everybody wants to do: I’m reaching my dream by breaking down communication barrier and overcoming different challenges. I always find a way. And I always make things happen. I didn’t do that in the past; I’m grateful that I do now.(向我遇到的人和我的读者展示我是谁,让我对自己的生活更有信心。在接触了许多聋人之后,我意识到我做了一件每个人都想做的事情:通过打破沟通障碍和克服不同的挑战,我正在实现我的梦想。我总能找到办法。我总是能让事情发生。我以前没有这样做过;我很感激我现在知道了)”可知,第五段主要讲述了,作者通过这段旅程意识到自己正在实现自己的梦想,所以讲述的是这段旅程的意义。故选A项。
根据第五段“Showing the people that I met and my readers who I am makes me more confident with what I want for my life. After meeting many deaf people, I realized that I have done one thing that everybody wants to do: I’m reaching my dream by breaking down communication barrier and overcoming different challenges. I always find a way. And I always make things happen. I didn’t do that in the past; I’m grateful that I do now.(向我遇到的人和我的读者展示我是谁,让我对自己的生活更有信心。
B 29. A 30. D 31. C
根据第一段“In the 1950s, researchers found that bus drivers were twice as likely to have heart attacks as bus conductors. Since then, dozens of studies have found links between sitting and a variety of illnesses, with a 2013 analysis of studies concluding: ‘Higher amounts of daily siting time are linked with greater risk of death.’(在20世纪50年代,研究人员发现公交车司机患心脏病的可能性是公交车售票员的两倍。自那以后,数十项研究发现了久坐与各种疾病之间的联系,2013年的一项研究分析得出结论:‘每天久坐的时间越长,死亡风险越大。’)”可知,本文通过研究发现展开对久坐问题的讨论,讲述了久坐影响健康,这属于科学发现,由此可推测出。本文可能出自一本科学杂志。故选B。
【29题详解】推理判断题。根据第二段“Too much sitting will cause postural(姿势的) problems, including knee pain and lower back pain. Studies have found a connection between long-time sitting and different forms of bone and muscle pain as well as neck pain.(久坐会导致姿势问题,包括膝盖疼痛和下背部疼痛。研究发现,长时间久坐与不同形式的骨骼和肌肉疼痛以及颈部疼痛之间存在联系。)”可知,姿势问题包括膝盖疼痛和下背部疼痛,而且久坐和与不同形式的骨骼和肌肉疼痛以及颈部疼痛之间存在联系。由此可推测出,姿势问题的特点就是身体不同部位的疼痛。故选A。
第四段首句“There’s also the cardio-metabolic(心血管代谢) problem caused by long sitting.(还有久坐引起的心血管代谢问题。)” 后文“It’s not completely understood why sitting seems to be related to a range of health conditions, but the most reasonable explanation is that it puts your body at rest. When you do it for long enough, your metabolism slows. You are actually switching off some of your body’s largest muscles, with results that range from increased waist size to risks of illnesses.(目前还不完全清楚为什么久坐似乎与一系列健康状况有关,但最合理的解释是久坐会让你的身体处于休息状态。当你久坐的时候,你的新陈代谢就会减慢。实际上,你正在关闭身体中一些最大的肌肉,其结果从增加腰围到增加患病风险不等。)”讲述了久坐会让身体处于休息状态,减缓新陈代谢,一些肌肉得不到运动,所以才会产生一系列健康问题,由此可推测出,本段主要是具体解释了久坐导致心血管代谢问题的原因。故选D。
【31题详解】标题归纳题。第一段中的“Since then, dozens of studies have found links between sitting and a variety of illnesses, with a 2013 analysis of studies concluding: ‘Higher amounts of daily siting time are linked with greater risk of death.’(自那以后,数十项研究发现了久坐与各种疾病之间的联系,2013年的一项研究分析得出结论:‘每天久坐的时间越长,死亡风险越大。’)” 第五段首句“So, what should you be doing?(那么,你应该做什么呢?)”
A 33. C 34. A 35. D
根据第一段前四句“You are given many opportunities in life to choose to be a victim or creator. When you choose to be a victim, the world is a cold and difficult place. “They” did things to you which caused all of your pain and suffering. “They” are wrong and bad, and life is terrible as long as “they” are around.”(在生活中,你有很多机会选择成为受害者或创造者。 故选A项。
根据第二段最后一句“They believe their dance with each sacred (神圣的) moment of life is a gift and that storms are a natural part of life which can bring the rain needed for emotional and spiritual growth.”(他们相信他们与生命中每一个神圣时刻的舞蹈都是一份礼物,暴风雨是生命中自然的一部分,可以带来情感和精神成长所需的雨水。)
根据第四段后两句“One person, on losing a job or a special relationship, may feel as if it is the end of the world and sink into terrible suffering for months, years, or even a lifetime. Another with the same experience may choose to first experience the grief, then accept the loss and soon move on to be a powerful creative force in his life.”(一个人,在失去一份工作或结束一段特殊的关系时,可能会觉得好像是世界末日,陷入几个月、几年甚至一生的可怕痛苦中。 故选A项。
根据最后一段“In every moment and every circumstance, you can choose to have filler, richer life by setting a clear intention to transform the victim within, and by inviting into your life the powerful creator that you are”(在任何时刻、任何情况下,你都可以通过设定一个清晰的意图来改变内心受害者的角色,并邀请你这个强大的创造者的角色进入你的生活,从而选择充实、丰富的生活。)

I’ve always dreamed of traveling the world, but like so many others, I ended up on choosing to follow a career path instead of following my dream. I founded a company that I loved. Everything changed when I broke up with my girlfriend.
Sadness pushed me to my breaking point. It took me around three months after the break-up to finally make the decision to leave and travel the world. It was one of the hardest things I had ever done, but it was also the best choice I ever made in my life.
To this day, I still remember the day I called my parents, who are also deaf, to discuss my plans to travel the world. Both of my parents gave me their full support. They told me to go ahead and helped book my flight to Thailand.
I chose Southeast Asia as my first, and I was fortunate to spend it with my good friend Mic Dolan. We spent about six weeks backpacking through Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia, having fun with tiger cubs and riding elephants. There was a new adventure every day. We paused long enough in Thailand to get certified in scuba diving, which turned out to be my favorite part. After that trip, I flew to Europe to meet another friend, John Hathaway. In this part of the journey, John and I turned our travels into a full-time adventure and we shared all of our stories on the Vlog platform Seek The World.
Showing the people that I met and my readers who I am makes me more confident with what I want for my life. After meeting many deaf people, I realized that I have done one thing that everybody wants to do: I’m reaching my dream by breaking down communication barrier (障碍) and overcoming different challenges. I always find a way. And I always make things happen. I didn’t do that in the past; I’m grateful that I do now.
24. What did the author do after finally deciding to travel the world?
A. Breaking up with his girlfriend. B. Establishing his own company.
C. Sharing his plan with his parents. D. Thinking about what will happen.
25. What was the author’s most beloved experience in Southeast Asia?

A. The significance of this journey. B. The problems of hearing loss.
C. The advantages of sharing stories. D. The methods of making things happen.
27. How did the author feel at the end of his journey?
A. Disappointed. B. Surprised. C. Interested. D. Satisfied.

In the 1950s, researchers found that bus drivers were twice as likely to have heart attacks as bus conductors. Since then, dozens of studies have found links between sitting and a variety of illnesses, with a 2013 analysis of studies concluding: “Higher amounts of daily siting time are linked with greater risk of death.”
Too much sitting will cause postural(姿势的) problems, including knee pain and lower back pain. Studies have found a connection between long-time sitting and different forms of bone and muscle pain as well as neck pain.
You can ease this problem to some extent by making some movements. However, being very active doesn’t entirely protect you from siting too long. You could run for an hour every morning and meet the government guidelines for physical activity, but then sit down for the rest of the day -which would mean sitting too long, in terms of risk.
There’s also the cardio-metabolic(心血管代谢) problem caused by long sitting. It’s not completely understood why sitting seems to be related to a range of health conditions, but the most reasonable explanation is that it puts your body at rest. When you do it for long enough, your metabolism slows. You are actually switching off some of your body’s largest muscles, with results that range from increased waist size to risks of illnesses.
So, what should you be doing? I’m proving your posture can be effective. At work, keeping your screen at eye level and your feet flat on the floor is a good start. The easiest way to make a significant difference, though, is to get up every 15, 30 or 60. Best of all, of course, is standing for a while once you are up. Ask yourself: Is there something you’re doing that doesn’t require you to sit down? Could you read your emails standing up? Could you go for a walk while you think?
Were you standing comfortably while you read this? Maybe you should have been.
28. Where is this text probably from?
A. A sports guidebook. B. A science magazine.
C. A newspaper advertisement. D. A working-instruction brochure.
29. What can we know about postural problems?
A. They feature pain in various body parts.
B. One-hour exercise can help to solve them.
C. They can be entirely corrected by movements.
D. Long runs can contribute to their development.
30. What does Paragraph 4 mainly talk about concerning cardio-metabolic problem?
A. Scientific research into it. B. Its harmful effects on health.
C. How it leads to people’s thick waists. D. Why it is connected with long-sitting.
31. What is the best title for the text?
A. When Do You Need to Stand Up? B. Long Sitting: Negatives and Positives
C. Long Sitting: Effects and Suggestions. D. How Long Do You Spend Sitting Down?
D
You are given many opportunities in life to choose to be a victim or creator. When you choose to be a victim, the world is a cold and difficult place. “They” did things to you which caused all of your pain and suffering. “They” are wrong and bad, and life is terrible as long as “they” are around. Or you may blame yourself for all your problems, thus internalizing (内化) your victimization. The truth is, your life is likely to stay that way as long as you feel a need to blame yourself or others.
Those who choose to be creators look at life quite differently. They know there are individuals who might like to control their lives, but they don’t let this get in the way. They know they have their weaknesses, yet they don’t blame themselves when they fail. Whatever happens, they have choice in the matter. They believe their dance with each sacred (神圣的) moment of life is a gift and that storms are a natural part of life which can bring the rain needed for emotional and spiritual growth.
Victims and creators live in the same physical world and deal with many of the same physical realities, yet their experience of life is worlds apart. Victims relish (沉溺) in anger, guilt, and other emotions that cause others- -and even themselves--to feel like victims, too. Creators consciously choose love, inspiration, and other qualities which inspire not only themselves, but all around them. Both victims and creators always have choice to determine the direction of their lives.
In reality, all of us play the victim or the creator at various points in our lives. One person, on losing a job or a special relationship, may feel as if it is the end of the world and sink into terrible suffering for months, years, or even a lifetime. Another with the same experience may choose to first experience the grief, then accept the loss and soon move on to be a powerful creative force in his life.
In every moment and every circumstance, you can choose to have filler, richer life by setting a clear intention to transform the victim within, and by inviting into your life the powerful creator that you are.
32. What does the word “They” in paragraph 1 probably refer to?
A. People and things around you. B. Opportunities and problems.
C. Creators and their choices. D. Victims and their sufferings.
33. According to Paragraph 2, creators ________.
A. seem willing to experience failures in life B. possess the ability to predict future life
C. handle ups and downs of life wisely D. have potential to create something new
34. The examples mentioned in Paragraph 4 show that ________.
A. different reactions to sufferings lead to different life paths.
B. people need family support to deal with challengers in life.
C. it takes creators quite a long time to get rid of their pains.
D. one’s experiences determine his attitude toward life.
35. What is the author’s purpose in writing this passage?
A. To define victims and creators.
B. To evaluate victims against creators.
C. To explain the relationship between victims and creators.
D. To suggest the transformation from victims to creators.

When we think of wildlife protection, we often picture big, famous animals like pandas or elephants. 56 , many small creatures play an equally important role in nature. Take beetles, for example. It was a sunny Friday afternoon, and the school sports field was filled with excitement.
The annual sports meeting was in full swing, and the atmosphere was electric. Students were cheering, teachers were busy organizing events, and athletes were stretching or practicing their starts. Among them was Lily, a shy but determined senior high student who was about to take part in the 4×100-meter relay race as the last runner. She fixed her eyes nervously on the distant finish line.
Lily’s team had practiced for weeks, and they had high hopes of winning. She stood at the starting point, watching her teammates run towards her. The first runner passed the baton (接力棒) smoothly to the second, and then the second to the third. As the third runner approached, Lily stretched out her hand, ready to grab the baton. But just as the baton was about to reach her, a strong wind blew, and she accidentally stepped on a small stone, losing her balance. She fell to the ground, hurting her knee and dropping the baton. The baton rolled a few feet away, and she stared at it in horror as time seemed to slow down.
Tears welled up in Lily’s eyes as she saw the other teams’ last runners speeding past her. She felt ashamed and disappointed, thinking she had let her team down. She sat on the ground, not knowing what to do. The noise of the crowd seemed to die down, and all she could feel was the pain in her knee and the weight of her failure.
But then, something unexpected happened. Her teammates rushed over to her, instead of blaming her, they knelt down and asked if she was okay. The third runner, Anna, put a hand on her shoulder and said softly, “It’s not over yet, Lily. We’re all here for you.” Other students from the crowd also came over, some bringing some water to her. A school doctor quickly arrived and dressed her wound.
