Passage 1
(2026·安徽芜湖·模拟)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
In summer, I stayed with Grandma in the village while my parents worked abroad. My friends back in the city hung out at malls and cinemas, but here the most exciting event was the weekly vegetable vendor’s arrival. I often used my phone to look through my friends’ city life posts, waiting for the day I would go back.
Granny was a woman of few words. She spoke a thick dialect I could barely understand, so our exchanges were limited to short commands: “Eat.” “Sleep.” “Come inside.” I thought we had little in common, with no shared jokes or dreams, just a quiet bond between us.
One afternoon, after homework, I wandered into the backyard and found her sitting quietly under the old tree. She sat on a weathered stool, with a pile of smooth green bamboo strips beside her. Her rough, calloused hands moved nonstop — weaving, bending, locking. Curiosity made me crouch to watch, wondering how she turned the strips into beautiful works.
Without looking up, she gently pressed a fresh, soft bamboo strip into my palm. “Turn,” she said, her voice rough but steady. I tried my best to copy her movements, but the bamboo strip snapped in two at once. I took a deep breath and tried again, but it snapped once more. Frustration boiled over, and I threw the broken pieces to the ground angrily. “It’s impossible! I’m no good at this!” I shouted, my face turning red with anger and embarrassment.
I turned to storm away, but her hand shot out quickly and caught my wrist — firm, yet surprisingly gentle, as if she was afraid of hurting me. She shook her head slightly, showing no anger or disappointment, and slowly picked up a new bamboo strip. With a calm and patient look, she placed it in my hand again, nodding gently to signal me to try once more.

【答案】范文
I hesitated, staring at the bamboo in my palm, unsure if I could avoid another failure. Seeing my hesitation, Grandma sat closer and demonstrated slowly step by step. Her rough fingers guided mine gently, teaching me how to bend the strip softly instead of forcing it. I calmed down and followed her moves carefully. Bit by bit, I grew less clumsy and finally wove a small simple bamboo basket. A faint warm smile spread across Grandma’s face, which made my heart filled with pride and joy.
That quiet summer afternoon turned out to be a lesson I would never forget. I realized Grandma’s silent patience held deep love for me. Before, I felt bored and lonely in the village, longing for city life. But weaving bamboo brought us close and let me understand her quiet kindness. From then on, I often stayed with her to learn weaving. I cherished the peaceful time with Grandma and treasured the simple warm bond between us deeply.

Passage 2

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
One warm morning in May, librarian Chen Wei was organizing the reading room at the City Art Museum when something caught his attention. A sketchbook (素描簿) lay forgotten beneath a chair, its pages slightly fanned out by the gentle wind. Chen picked it up carefully, and felt a sudden wave of sympathy. Someone must be anxiously searching for this, he thought. These drawings represent hours of creative effort and observation.
Back at his office, Chen opened the sketchbook with gentle hands. The pages revealed a remarkable journey: detailed pencil studies of sculptures, quick watercolor impressions of sunlight and so on. Yet nowhere in the book could Chen find a name, phone number, or any contact information.
Determined to reunite the sketchbook with its creator, Chen photographed several standout pages and posted them on the museum’s social media accounts, describing where the book had been discovered. The local community responded enthusiastically, sharing the post thousands of times. However, after a few days of widespread circulation, no one had come forward to claim the work. Chen began to worry that the artist might be a tourist who had already returned home, or perhaps a student who had given up hope and started a new one.
Just as Chen prepared to create a physical display in the museum lobby (大厅), an email arrived in his inbox. The subject line read: “You found my grandmother’s sketches.” The sender, a young woman named Lin Yue, explained that her seventy-year-old grandmother had visited the museum the previous week from a neighboring province. The elderly woman, who had taken up drawing in retirement, had been overwhelmed by the loss. Lin described specific sketches that matched the contents of the sketchbook perfectly. They arranged to meet in the museum lobby three days later.

【答案】
On that day, Chen waited in the museum lobby as promised. Soon, Lin Yue walked in with an elderly woman, whose face lit up at the sight of the sketchbook. “That’s mine!” she said, voice trembling. She flipped to a sketch of the museum’s central sculpture, recalling how she’d sat for two hours, adjusting her glasses to capture its curves. Chen handed over the book gently, watching her fingers trace the lines with familiar warmth. Lin Yue explained her grandma had cried for days over the loss, and they’d nearly given up hope until she saw the post.
Chen picked up his phone to update the museum’s social media page. He posted a photo of the grandmother smiling with her sketchbook, writing: “Lost art found, and a heart made whole.” He mentioned the elderly artist’s retirement hobby and her joy at being reunited with her work. Within minutes, comments flooded in — users praised the kindness, shared their own small joys of recovery, and marveled at the power of community. Chen smiled, knowing this little story had turned a lost book into a reminder of how care can bridge distances and warm hearts.

Passage 3
(2026·安徽安庆·二模)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
The grey English winter had settled not only over the landscape, but deep within Gina’s soul. At the age of sixty-four, she found the shortening days, the cold rain and lasting darkness increasingly difficult to bear. It wasn’t the cold that troubled her — it was the fading (渐暗的) light, the absence of the brilliant sunshine that had always felt like a promise of adventures yet to come. She feared her own adventuring days had ended before she’d even realized they were over.
Her sadness was interrupted one afternoon by the sound of the front door shutting hard, followed by her granddaughter Beth’s anxious entrance into the kitchen. Tearfully, Beth explained that her carefully planned long-distance trip to Asia had collapsed. Her travel partner had withdrawn, and Beth’s parents had firmly refused to let her travel alone. Gina’s heart ached as she watched the young girl’s dreams break — she saw so much of her own youthful spirit reflected in her granddaughter’s disappointed eyes.
In the days that followed, Gina found herself reflecting on her own lost opportunities. She remembered her youthful travels across Europe, adventures that had ended suddenly when marriage and motherhood arrived. Now as a woman whose husband had passed away, she resigned herself to quiet days, believing adventure belonged only to the young.
The turning point came during one of their quiet, treasured evenings together. As they sat by the fire, Beth cleverly turned their conversation toward literature, recalling heroines from classic novels who traveled with older partners. “In those days,” Beth remarked thoughtfully, “young women often traveled with relatives who kept them company.” Her eyes met Gina’s, and in that quiet moment, an unspoken question passed between them.
“Gran,” Beth began hesitantly, “would you consider… coming to Asia with me in January?”
Time seemed to stand still. Gina felt something shift inside her — a long-silent fire starting to burn. Looking at Beth’s hopeful face, she saw not just her granddaughter, but a chance to regain a part of herself she thought was lost forever.

【答案】One possible version (高级版)
Gina took a deep breath, feeling a wave of excitement. Her kitchen table disappeared beneath a sea of guidebooks and maps, their pages heavily marked with highlighted routes and possibilities. Evenings were devoted to mastering basic local and tourist phrases. Their awkward pronunciations soon gave way to fluent greetings, filling the small kitchen again with the sound of their shared laughter. Even Lucy, who had been deeply doubtful, found herself quietly softened by the fresh energy shining in her mother — a change too deep and joyful to deny.
Then, fully prepared, they boarded the plane to Asia. They wandered through local markets, tasted unique street food, and admired ancient temples. In Beijing, they rose early in the morning to witness the sun warming the Badaling Great Wall, their hands held tightly together. For Gina, every new experience felt like rediscovering a part of herself she had long forgotten. The woman once worried that her adventuring days were gone. Now she’s walking through forests and exploring foreign cities with her beloved granddaughter by her side. One possible version (简易版)
Gina took a deep breath, feeling a wave of excitement. Her kitchen table was covered with guidebooks and maps. All the pages were marked with many different routes and plans. They spent their evenings learning some simple local words and tourist expressions. At first, they could not pronounce them well, but they soon learned to speak smoothly. Their laughter filled the small kitchen again. Even Lucy, who had been very doubtful, was touched by her mother’s new energy. It was such a big and happy change that no one could deny it.
Then, fully prepared, they boarded the plane to Asia. They walked around local markets, tasted special street food, and visited old temples. In Beijing, they got up early in the morning to see the sun rise over the Badaling Great Wall. They held each other’s hands tightly. For Gina, every new experience made her find a part of herself that she had forgotten for a long time. She once thought she could no longer travel and have fun. Now she is walking through forests and visiting foreign cities with her dear granddaughter.

Passage 4
(2025·安徽淮南·二模)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
One day, a good friend gave me a gift. It was a book filled with interesting and uplifting stories. I remember I began reading it that very night. And I would read a story or two before going to bed each night.
One evening I read a story about hugging called “It Can’t Happen Here?” The opening quotation by Virginia Satir said we need four hugs a day for survival, eight for maintenance (保持) and twelve hugs a day to grow.
I read this story on a Tuesday. I knew it was Tuesday because on Wednesday I walked into my classroom and declared that every Wednesday would be known as “Hugging Day.”I told my students everyone needs hugs to live and grow.
I was already a hugger and had always greeted my students with a warm hug each morning. But after reading the story in this new book, I decided that on Hugging Day everyone needed to make sure they got at least twelve hugs. I wanted my students to grow. All hugs didn’t have to come from me, but I was ready, willing, and able to give as many as needed.
My students lined up at my desk with questions and left with a hug. They hugged me before and after lunch. They hugged me when they came to school in the morning and when they left for home in the afternoon. And perhaps best of all, the children in my classroom hugged each other.
Every Wednesday, my students counted their hugs to make sure they were getting their fair share. I continued the practice for several years. Through the years, I hugged all kinds of kids — those who were untidy and those who were clean, children who were gifted academically and others whose gifts lay elsewhere. Among them, Nicole, one of my students, stood out for her enthusiasm about Hugging Day. She was a shy girl who rarely spoke up in class, but on Hugging Day, she would always be the first to line up to hug me. I could see how much a hug meant to her.

【答案】参考作文
One Wednesday afternoon, I was cleaning up my classroom. I needed to get everything ready for the next day. Just as I was about to leave, a soft voice called into the empty classroom, “May I come in?” I looked up to see a girl standing in the doorway. It was Nicole. She stood there with her arms wrapped tightly around herself, as if she was trying to hold back her feelings. She looked up at me with a mixture of hope and sadness. Obviously, she was trying hard not to cry. “Nicole, what’s wrong?” I said gently, inviting her to come in.
Nicole fell into my arms and began to sob. Tears streamed down her cheeks when I hugged her tightly. We sat down in the chairs, and she began to pour out her heart. She told me about the challenges she was facing — peer pressure, family issues, and the overwhelming stress of growing up. We talked, we shared, and we left that room to go our separate ways. But I learned something new that day. Sometimes it doesn’t take four hugs to survive. Sometimes, it just takes one.

Ricky had finished school in his small hometown. Although his father hoped he would go on to study for a Master’s degree, Ricky was determined to learn computer skills. At school, he had once watched a computer demonstration and was deeply impressed. From then on, he made up his mind to leave the town and go to the city.
Life in the city was far from easy. Ricky’s troubles began with finding a place to live. He looked at several rooms, but either the rent was too high or the place was too far from his training institute. At last, an elderly couple agreed to take him in. The room was small and poorly ventilated, but Ricky felt thankful because they also provided him with meals.
Ricky attended classes regularly, yet he found it hard to follow the instructor. He sat at the back of the classroom, kept his eyes on his notebook, and wrote down whatever he could understand. As soon as class was over, he would leave quietly without speaking to anyone. Later, he would borrow the books recommended by the instructor from the library and spend the evening trying to understand them. While his classmates relaxed and enjoyed themselves after class, Ricky stayed by himself. Though he longed to join them, he lacked the courage. As the days went by, he began to doubt his decision. More than once, he wished he had listened to his father and chosen further study instead.
One day, his father came to see him and found him looking miserable. Ricky could no longer hold back his feelings. He told his father that he wanted to give up and return home. After listening patiently, his father suggested that he talk to the instructor about his difficulties and try reading books written by local authors or in a language he could understand more easily.

Following the suggestion, Ricky also borrowed some easier books related to computer skills. He kept studying every day and gradually found the knowledge easier to understand. Little by little, he no longer felt helpless or lonely.
With growing confidence, Ricky started to challenge himself in new ways. He began to sit closer in class and actively asked questions. He even tried to communicate with his classmates and formed small groups to discuss difficult points together. His hard work finally paid off. Soon, his grades improved greatly. He realized that choosing computer skills was not a mistake. With strong determination, he kept moving forward bravely, firmly believing a bright future was waiting for him.

A Soft Surprise on Library Day
Saturday morning sunlight cast on the bookshelves. Tasha’s fingers held her bag tightly, her eyes shining with hidden expectation — today was her most beloved Library Day. To her, the little yellow chair by the third-floor window was a peaceful world: softened by years of use, it let sunlight pass through, throwing spotted shadows on the pages, and the air carried the smell of old book ink.
Tasha walked through the bookshelves with ease, but suddenly stopped at the familiar corner. Her smile disappeared at once. A stranger was sitting on the yellow chair, tapping his fingers lightly on the pages. He looked calm and peaceful. Tasha’s heart gave a sharp ache. A bad feeling welled up in her nose as her joy turned into disappointment. She stood still. Her eyes were fixed on the chair as if her stare alone could make the stranger leave.
“These chairs are public — no one can take them as their own,” Mom said softly, putting an arm around her shoulder. Tasha lowered her eyelids, her eyelashes trembling slightly. Sadness filled her eyes, but she held back her tears. She was used to this comfort; the sudden disturbance just left her feeling uneasy.
She turned away angrily and wandered aimlessly, with heavy steps. The library, once a comfortable corner for her, now felt strange. Just as she was about to give up and leave, a flash of red caught her eye — a large floor cushion (垫子) placed beside a poetry shelf, looking soft and welcoming in warm sunlight.
With uncertainty, Tasha approached, knelt down, and pressed the cushion — its soft material sank slightly under her touch. She sat down unwillingly, picking a poetry book from the nearby shelf.

“I love this spot even more,” she said. “It’s my new favorite.”
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】One possible version:
At first, her mind kept wandering back to the yellow chair. But gradually, the cushion’s comfort and the quiet rustle of pages around her calmed her restless heart. Sunlight fell over her knees, and the words in the book sank gently into her mind, easing her disappointment. When the clock struck twelve, Mom walked over with a warm smile. “Enjoying your book?” she asked. Tasha looked up, her eyes free of sadness, bright with a new sense of contentment. She patted the red cushion, a soft smile on her lips, her eyes lingering on the warm sunlight above it.
“I love this spot even more,” she said. “It’s my new favorite.” As they left the library, Tasha held Mom’s hand, her heart light and carefree. This Library Day had brought her a soft surprise — and a gentle realization: she no longer fixed her comfort on that single yellow chair. True joy in reading, and in life, she understood, isn’t bound to a certain spot or routine. It comes from welcoming the unexpected, like that soft red cushion — the very soft surprise that turned a disrupted plan into a warm memory. Letting go of rigid attachments lets us truly embrace the warm little moments around us.

Passage 3
(2026·安徽滁州·二模)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
In the summer of 2015, I was a bored 16-year-old with nothing to do but wander the streets of Michigan. The summer heat wrapped around me like a blanket, and every street corner felt empty, the days stretching on with no joy and no purpose.
One roasting afternoon, I slipped into the public library to escape the heat. I’d never been inside before. I paused at the entrance, watching for a moment. An elderly librarian nodded at an older man, handing him a pair of reading glasses. The man mouthed a thank you, and the librarian smiled, returning to his desk-his name tag read Mr Jones.
The place was quiet and cool. I wandered past shelves of books. Not knowing what to look for, I just picked one at random: Wonder. I sat down at a table near the window and started reading. Within pages, I was hooked. The character felt so real, his experience so familiar. For the first time, I saw my own feelings reflected in someone else’s words. Just then a soft voice interrupted me. “That’s a good choice,” said an elderly man with kind eyes. It was Mr Jones, the librarian. He told me he had read it many times and that it is about people who are searching for acceptance and confidence, just like me. As he spoke, the tension in my face melted into a look of quiet recognition.
I was surprised. How could he know that?
Over the next few weeks, I returned almost every day. Mr Jones never pushed books on me. He simply placed them on the counter as if they’d been waiting. In their pages, I found voices that spoke my potential and dreams I didn’t know I had. One rainy Thursday, I stayed until closing time. As I handed back the book, Mr Jones looked at me and said gently, “You have a story inside you too, don’t you?” I froze. No one had ever said anything like that to me before.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】One possible version:
He asked me to sit down and we had a talk. I poured out my inner boredom, confusion and hidden dreams without any hesitation. Mr Jones listened patiently, his eyes twinkling with encouragement. "Words have power," he whispered. He told me that writing was a perfect way to record thoughts and express feelings, and even small stories could touch hearts. He gave me a notebook and a pen, encouraging me to write down every flash of inspiration. That conversation ignited a spark within me, fueling my journey from a lost teen to a determined writer.
Years later, with my first novel in hand, I went to the library to visit Mr Jones. My hands trembled slightly as I handed him the book, nervous yet eager. He read it carefully, a soft smile spreading across his face. He praised my sincere words and vivid emotions, telling me I had found my life’s direction. That summer, the library didn’t just shelter me from the heat-it lit up my life, teaching me that kindness and a book can awaken a lost soul and pave the way for a bright future.

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
My father became my only guardian after my mother passed away. Chatting with others helped ease his deep sadness. Every morning, he would go to his beloved local donut (甜甜圈) shop, where he always started warm conversations with the people there. When we left, along with the bear claw pastry in a small box, there was always a chocolate-covered donut prepared just for me. On the ride in Dad’s truck, my little task was to hold Dad’s coffee between my knees, to stop it from spilling on the way.
As time went by and I grew up, that donut shop became a special place for us to celebrate all kinds of my achievements. Even if I didn’t win or get a ranking, Dad would still take me there. Finally, I grew into an adult and moved out of Dad’s house. On my wedding day, Dad handed me a small gift box. Inside it was a tiny chocolate-covered donut. My heart was deeply moved, melting faster than the chocolate frosting would in a hot oven.
In October 1989, Dad was told he had incurable cancer. We lived an ocean apart, so our visits were very rare. A year later, I was hurt in an attack, and had to receive three back surgeries in hospital. Dad’s cancer had developed so badly that his body could barely support him. But he ignored the doctor’s orders, and flew to the hospital to comfort me. His weak body leaned over my chest, his thin arms hugging me tightly, saying how much he wished he could take my place.
As the nurses prepared me for surgery, I saw Dad’s face cloud over with worry. They wheeled me out of the room and into the operating room. When I woke up, I was back in my hospital room, lying in bed alone. There was nobody around. As I reached for the telephone to call Dad, I saw a paper plate on the bedside table, holding a chocolate-covered donut.

【答案】One possible version:
The cancer took Dad away just a few days after he left my bedside. I later learned from the nurses that, despite his unbearable cancer pain and extreme physical weakness, he had wandered the cold, unfamiliar streets around the hospital for hours that day, just to find a shop selling the familiar chocolate-covered donut. He never breathed a word of his worsening condition to me, hiding all his agony and fear behind that sweet treat. That donut became his final silent confession of love, locking all our warmest shared memories into every crumb of the soft pastry and glossy chocolate frosting.
Years later, every time I pass by a donut shop, I always stop to buy a chocolate-covered donut. The moment the sweet chocolate melts on my tongue, I’m instantly transported back to those sunny mornings in Dad’s old truck, the warm coffee steady between my knees, and his soft smile as he handed me the specially prepared donut. It’s never just a snack to me; it’s a timeless hug from Dad, a quiet reminder that his unwavering love has never left my side. It gives me endless courage to get through every hard day, just like he did when he flew to my hospital bed against all odds.

阅读下面材料, 根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段, 使之构成一篇完整的短文。
In a small town, there was a young girl named Emma. She loved playing outside and exploring nature. One sunny day, while she was in her backyard, she noticed a small bird lying on the ground. It was a bluebird, with blue feathers. It seemed hurt and could not fly any longer.
Emma approached the bird slowly, not wanting to scare it. She could see its left wing was bent in a strange way. She realized the bird must have injured its wing. Without thinking, Emma gently picked up the little bird and took it inside her house.
She found an old shoebox and lined it with soft cloth to make a comfortable bed for the bird. She then placed the injured bird inside, ensuring it was safe and warm. Emma remembered seeing her mother give water to their pet cat with a dropper. She thought the bird might be thirsty, so she fetched a dropper and gently gave the bird some water.
Every day, Emma took care of the little bluebird. She would feed it, give it water, and talk to it in soft, comforting tones. She even named it Bluey. At first, Bluey was scared and would chirp loudly whenever Emma came close. But over time, Bluey grew to trust her and would even sing softly when she was around.
Emma wanted to help Bluey heal faster. She decided to learn more about birds. With her parents’ help, she borrowed a book about birds from the library. The book taught her how to make a splint (夹板) for Bluey’s wing. With careful hands and a lot of patience, Emma was able to fix the splint on Bluey’s wing.
Days turned into weeks. Emma continued to care for Bluey, and the little bird grew stronger each day. She noticed that the bird’s wing was healing, and it began to flap its wings inside the box.

【答案】
One sunny morning, Emma felt that Bluey was finally ready to take to the sky once more. She had been caring for the little bird for weeks, watching as it recovered from its injuries. Now, she knew, it was time for it to return to the wild. Emma held up the shoebox, which had served as Bluey’s temporary home for weeks, and opened it. The little bird looked around, chirping excitedly, as if sensing the freedom. Emma’s heart filled with joy as she watched Bluey change from being scared to confident.
With a flap of its strong wings, Bluey flied into the sky. It circled above Emma before disappearing into the distance. Emma’s heart swelled with pride as she watched it fly off into the vast expanse of the sky, joining the other birds. Emma’s face broke into a broad smile as she felt a sense of accomplishment and knew that she had played an important role in Bluey’s recovery. She had given it a chance to live its life once again in the wild, where it belonged.

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Josie and I wanted a dog more than anything else. Whenever we had time, we’d sit together and talk about dogs. “You’re so silly, Jake,” Josie would say. “Bulldogs (斗牛犬) are scary.” “Hah. Golden retrievers (金毛猎犬) are scary,” I’d say. We had this ongoing argument about what our ideal dog would be. But it made no difference—any dog would do, as long as it had a tail to wag and a friendly face.
One summer night, as we sat together beside the window, Josie saw something. “What’s that?” she said, pointing to a dark shadow on our driveway. The moon was up and everything looked either black or milky. At first all I saw was darkness. Then the shadow moved and I heard the sound of metal. Then the shadow flowed out onto the silvery driveway. With a little fright, we found ourselves stepping down to the front door. There in our yard stood a dog—a big, black dog with long, shaggy (蓬松的) hair.
Josie made a little kissing noise and held out her hand. “Here, boy!” I said. And the dog came to us slowly, taking a few steps forward, and then a step back, not sure whether to trust us. When close enough, it had a doggy smell that always made me think of dirt and grass and piles of leaves. “Don’t say ‘Here, boy’,” said Josie. “She’s a female.” Pulling back and looking, I said, “I wonder what her name is.” I felt for her collar while she sat patiently. I found no tags, but just a chain with a small old bell on it.
“I bet she’s hungry,” said Josie. “I can feel her ribs.” I ran my hand through her fur. The dog was so skinny that you could feel every bone, and her coat was twisted and full of dirt. If she belonged to someone, they weren’t taking good care of her.

【答案】范文:
“What can we give her?” Josie asked me. “Milk! I’ll get her some milk.” I went into the kitchen to fill one plate with milk and some raw eggs. The dog ate everything up, but instantly she finished, she ran into the shadows. “Don’t go!” Josie called loudly. But the dog was gone. “She’ll be back when hungry again,” I said. “Nobody is feeding her.” The following evening, as soon as we set the plate down, she appeared as if from nowhere. We named her ‘Shadow’ and gave her food again, but this time for some reason she wouldn’t eat it.
The dog did something completely unexpected. She grabbed the plate in her mouth and dragged it away into the bushes. When running there, we couldn’t find her. This went on for several days. However, one night, Shadow didn’t come. Josie and I tried to figure out what had happened. Another two days passed but we got no answer. We couldn’t wait to comb through the bushes until we found something unexpected. At our feet lay a litter of four puppies, squeaking and climbing around on top of each other. Our plates were there, and so was Shadow, cold and motionless. She must have saved all her food for her puppies.

Title: A Day of Unexpected Adventures
One sunny afternoon, Lily, a curious and adventurous girl, decided to explore the mysterious old forest near her house. She packed a small backpack with some snacks and a map, and set out on her adventure.
As she walked through the dense trees, she heard rustling leaves and the chirping of birds. The air was filled with the scent of fresh earth and wildflowers. Suddenly, a bright flash of color caught her eye. It was a rare butterfly, its wings shimmering with iridescent blues and greens. Lily slowly followed the butterfly, her heart filled with excitement.
As she followed the butterfly deeper into the forest, Lily realized that she had lost sight of it. She looked around, trying to orient herself with the map, but the dense foliage made it difficult to navigate. Suddenly, she heard a strange sound coming from a nearby bush. Curious, she cautiously approached and peeked inside. To her surprise, a small fox was looking back at her with big, round eyes.
The fox seemed friendly, and Lily slowly reached out to pet it. The fox nuzzled her hand and then led her through the forest, as if guiding her to somewhere. Lily followed eagerly, her curiosity piqued. They passed through a clearing filled with wildflowers and came to a small stream. The water was clear and sparkled in the sunlight. Lily knelt down to take a sip, and the fox seemed to smile at her, its tail wagging happily.

After refreshing herself with the stream water, Lily decided to continue exploring with her newfound friend. The fox led her to a hidden grotto, where a waterfall cascaded down the rocky cliffs, creating a misty veil. Lily stood in awe, feeling as if she had discovered a magical place. She took out her snacks and shared them with the fox, who seemed to enjoy the treat as much as she did.
As the sun began to set, Lily realized that it was time to return home. She thanked the fox for its companionship and promised to visit again soon. The fox nodded its head as if understanding, and then disappeared into the bushes. Lily made her way back through the forest, feeling a sense of adventure and wonder that she had never experienced before. She knew that this day would be one she would remember for the rest of her life.

Passage 1
(2026·安徽马鞍山·二模)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Terry jumped for joy! Her school was going to have a dance talent show. Terry loved dancing, but the rules were clear — it required groups of three or more to promote teamwork. Terry gathered her friends, Liz and Stephanie. With only two weeks to go, the girls had to jump into action.
When choosing the music, Liz’s suggestion received Stephanie’s support, but Terry pushed for her own idea. Terry insisted that her song offered better chances for fantastic steps. Both the girls accepted, though not entirely happy with the song. Next, they had to decide on opening dance steps. Liz liked Stephanie’s idea, but Terry objected and said that something was missing and that they needed something like her steps. Again, the other two agreed, excited just to dance together.
The girls gathered every afternoon after school and tried their best to practice the difficult dance moves. But with the show approaching, Terry got increasingly dissatisfied with the progress. “Get serious! We have only one more week to practice, and we’ve completed the routine only three times!” Terry shouted. “We’ll never win this way!”
“We’re all trying hard,” Liz said.
But Terry didn’t think so. She said that they moved too fast and kept forgetting the steps, and that Stephanie had missed three days.
“I had the flu,” Stephanie said. “I joined you as soon as I got better.”
Terry complained that she was the only one trying and then declared that she was quitting. Both the girls were shocked. In fact, they were giving up their afternoons to practice. Additionally, Liz always brought snacks, and put together all the music; Stephanie helped choreograph (编舞) the moves, and worked on costumes.
Liz and Stephanie kept practicing that day without Terry. They hoped that Terry would calm down and rejoin the group. But Terry didn’t show up the next day, or the next. They needed three members to compete, and the show was getting so close.

【答案】
“We need to talk to her,” Liz said to Stephanie. They went to Terry’s house right after school, holding the dance video they had practiced repeatedly these days. When Terry opened the door, seeing her two friends with sincere smiles, her angry face softened at once. Liz gently told her how much they missed dancing with her and that the routine wasn’t complete without her. Stephanie showed her their improved, more fluent moves. Terry felt ashamed, realizing she’d been stubborn and selfish, ignoring their hard work. She apologized sincerely and begged to rejoin them. The three hugged tightly and practiced day and night, with Terry learning to listen and cooperate, polishing their routine to be more harmonious.
On the talent show day, all the girls felt ready and confident. They wore the beautiful matching costumes Stephanie had carefully prepared, stepping onto the bright stage confidently as their music started. Dancing in perfect harmony, they showed smooth moves, bright smiles and sincere emotions, reflecting all their hard work and deep friendship. The audience cheered loudly and clapped warmly the moment they finished. Afterward, they hugged tightly, forgetting the result. Terry looked at her friends earnestly: “Winning isn’t important; dancing with you is the happiest thing.” Though they didn’t get first prize, they gained precious friendship and truly understood teamwork’s meaning.

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
The first time I saw Jeff was when my best friend, Brian, and I were in the fourth grade. When our teacher introduced Jeff to the class she explained that he was sick and that he might not be able to be in class all the time.
Jeff was completely bald (秃头的) from cancer treatments, and he wore a hat. Other than that, he was a normal friend to Brian and me. We never thought of him as sick because he didn’t act that way. The only time that we would realize that Jeff was sick was when he went for his chemotherapy (化疗) treatments. We’d notice the difference, but we’d just sort of think that Jeff’s not feeling really well now, and then things would be back to normal. Jeff, Brian and I were sports-lovers. We would swim and run. As fourth grade progressed, Jeff got better and better. By the end of the school year his doctor said the cancer was gone.
Brian, Jeff and I spent tons of time together during the summer between fourth and fifth grades. We loved being outdoors, running everywhere and staying over at each other’s houses. Before school started, Jeff went away on vacation with his family for a few weeks.
Then came the night that I will always remember. We were eating dinner when the phone rang. It was Jeff’s mom, calling to say that Jeff was in the hospital. The cancer had come back. I couldn’t believe it.
Jeff and I talked on the phone the next day and he sounded like his normal self. I couldn’t really imagine him being back in the hospital. Then, a few days later, my mom took me to visit him. When I walked into his room, Jeff looked really weak. His mom was talking about a trip to California for a bone marrow transplant (骨髓移植) operation, and how important it would be for Jeff. Even though everyone looked very serious and sad, the thought of losing Jeff never crossed my mind. I just thought he would get better.

【答案】One possible version
On the morning of Jeff’s transplant, Brian and I waited outside with our posters. We had made them overnight, with words like “Stay strong, Jeff!” and “We’re waiting for you!” written on them. Our hands were shaking a little, but we kept smiling and hoping for the best. Hours passed slowly. Finally, the doctor came out and told us the operation was successful. A huge wave of relief washed over us. We were so excited that we almost cried. We couldn’t wait to see Jeff healthy again.
When Jeff returned to class six months later, he wore a hat but laughed loudly. He looked a little thinner, but his eyes were bright and his smile was as warm as before. All the classmates welcomed him warmly. We played together during breaks, just like we used to. Jeff never let his experience hold him back. He remained brave and positive. To this day, Jeff is still my closest friend. He taught me that hope and courage can help overcome even the hardest difficulties in life.

Passage 3
(2026·安徽安徽江南十校·联考)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
If someone had told me in June that I would take part in a marathon event, I would have laughed. Yet there I was on an October morning with a medal around my neck.
Okay, it was only the 4.2K race, and I walked more than I ran. But I still did it.
Did I mention that I weigh around 300 pounds? I also have asthma, but medication helps. What’s more, I live with four anxiety disorders. Social anxiety makes me deadly afraid of people’s judgment. But in August, I decided that registering for the 4.2K event of our local marathon would be a great motivator to get in shape. So I signed up and started walking every day. I told only a few people — my family and some trusted friends.
Training went well until mid-September, when work got so exhausting that I could barely do anything. Still, I kept going. The real struggle came when I went to pick up my race number. I kept wondering what others would think. I didn’t have the usual runner’s profile. When I saw the T-shirt table, I turned away quickly. There were no shirts that would fit me. That made me doubt myself again. What was I doing here? The 4.2K was the “popular event,” with families and young children. But I was willing to bet that not many obese people had registered.
The night before the race, I had nightmares. When I woke up, I considered not going. Then I realized I had forgotten to wash my best running pants. Walmart opened at 8 a. m., and the race wasn’t until 10 a. m. I drove there, bought a pair, and headed to the starting line.
Once there, I quickly found that people didn’t really care about me; they were focused on their own experience. That relaxed me a little, but not completely. Soon I found myself at the back of the pack. Those real athletes must be wondering what I was doing there. But it was too late to turn back. I started walking, my earphones playing loud music to drown out possible hurtful comments.

【答案】 However, it turned out that the voices I was afraid of never came. Instead, a woman running past smiled and said, “You’ve got this!” A man with two kids pointed at me and told them, “Look how hard she’s trying.” My eyes stung — not from sweat, but from unexpected warmth. I began to run short stretches between walks, my breath ragged but my spirit lifting. The pack thinned, but volunteers along the route clapped for every straggler. “Almost there!” they called. For the first time, I didn’t feel like an imposter; I felt like a runner.
When I finally crossed the finish line, I heard someone calling my name. My sister waved wildly from the sidelines, tears streaming down her face. My friends held a handmade sign: “300 POUNDS OF COURAGE.” A volunteer hung the medal around my neck, and I clutched it, gasping, grinning, sobbing all at once. That medal wasn’t for speed or grace; it was for showing up when every instinct screamed to hide. I had outrun not the clock, but the prison of my own fears. And that, I realized, was the real finish line.

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
The fairy lights twinkled (闪烁) on the Christmas tree as my baby slept peacefully in his bassinet (摇篮).
“Are you sure we’ve got everything?” my husband, Nick, 39, called out.
I rolled my eyes and dragged the last of our bags into the hallway.
“Yes, I’ve checked and checked again,” I replied.
Nick and I had been married for two years when we had our first child, Frank, eight months. Since he’d arrived, we’d collected endless amounts of baby equipment that needed to come on trips with us.
Nick and I put it all into the car. “Right, let’s hit the road,” Nick smiled, turning to me from the driver’s seat. We were heading to my mum’s for the festive season and I couldn’t wait to spend Christmas with my family. It was Frank’s first Christmas and it was set to be a huge occasion.
My brother and sister and their families, travelled down for the big day and I knew my mum, Sue, would go all out in the kitchen. She cooked really well. When we came in on Christmas Eve, the delicious smell of roast turkey and all the side dishes filled the kitchen.
“It smells great, Mum,” I said happily.
“I’ve done a few meats this year,” she said. “Chicken, a joint of beef and a turkey.”
“You spoil (宠坏) us!” I said.
We all clinked (碰杯) our glasses together and started eating the delicious Christmas meal. I said, “Happy Christmas!” and held up my drink. Everyone laughed and cheered, and I felt so grateful to be with my family.
The next day, I was in the kitchen preparing lunch for Frank when disaster struck. I was slicing some vegetables with a sharp knife when I accidentally cut my finger. Blood flowed out and I dropped the knife in shock.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】
Nick rushed over, his face turning pale. “Oh my God, are you okay?” he asked, trying to stay calm. I looked down at my finger and saw that part of it was almost cut off. Panic set in, but Nick quickly grabbed a towel and pressed it against the wound. “We need to get you to the hospital,” he said urgently. My mother, Sue, came running in, her eyes wide with concern. “I’ll call an ambulance,” she said, dialing 999. As I sat there, my finger was painful, and I felt a wave of gratitude for my family’s support.
At the hospital, the doctors worked quickly to reattach my finger. The surgery was successful, and I was relieved to hear that I would make a full recovery. As I lay in the hospital bed, my family gathered around me. My brother and sister brought me funny cards and small gifts to cheer me up. The doctors and nurses were amazed at how well I was coping, and I knew it was because of the love and support from my family. This accident was a reminder that even in the midst of chaos and pain, family and love can bring light and strength.

Talent Night
I had a problem —Talent Night was coming up, but I had no talent.
Let me introduce myself: Benjamin Belinski, Human Talent Void (空缺). Kate can make anything using paper folding. Tommy creates breath-taking beats on overturned plastic buckets. Olivia trains her pet dog to do tricks. And those are just my friends. My class also boasts (以……为荣) four dancers, a gymnast, two bakers, a boxing expert, six singers, and five artists, among others.
Every day my teacher asked if I’d decided what to do. And every day I reminded her that I had no talent. “Nonsense, Benjamin,” she would say. “You’ll think of something.” “I’ll just have to be sick the day of the show,” I announced to my friends one afternoon. “If you get a cold, be sure to cough on me.”
“You must have a talent,” said Kate to me. “Let’s make a list. What are you good at?” “Eating,” I answered. “Watching TV.” Kate rolled her eyes and said, “Benjamin, be serious!” Kate looked at our friends. “Come on, guys. What are Benjamin’s talents?”
“He’s good with dogs,” said Olivia. “My dog adores him.” She was telling the truth, I supposed, for I could sit on the stage while her dog licked my face. I was Benjamin Belinski, Human Dog Toy!
“Benjamin’s funny when he’s joking,” said Tommy. He turned to me. “You could do a comedy routine.” True, as every joke could be about how I had no talents. So I joked myself as Benjamin Belinski, Human Talent Void!
“Benjamin,” said Kate, “maybe you don’t know how to juggle (杂耍), but your birthday parties are the best.” Yeah, “ agreed Olivia,” and you always get us together to do stuff. Like having game nights or riding bikes after school — or when we held that yard sale. The week you had the flu, we didn’t do anything fun. “You’re like the glue holding us together,” added Tommy.” Oh, great, I joked. “Benjamin Belinski, Human Glue Gun!”

【答案】One possible version:
Anyway, their comments made me think of something. Lying in bed that night, I came up with a plan so exciting that it took me two hours to fall asleep. In the morning, I couldn’t wait to tell my teacher. “Great idea, Benjamin!” she said. “True to who you are.” In the next few weeks, I wrote a long list, ensuring everything and every step in place. I asked various stores to donate decorations needed for the gym. I even covered the seats with blue and yellow paper. Finally came the big night!
During the show, everyone and everything was perfect. Tommy impressed us with his drumming, the gymnast with handsprings, and singers and dancers with theirs. Guests tasted student-baked cookies while enjoying displays of paper folding, paintings, and other artworks. Finally, my teacher stepped onto the stage. “Everybody contributed to this marvelous night” she announced. “However, one person stayed behind the scenes and he deserves special recognition for making it proceed so smoothly. Big hand to an enormous talent—Benjamin Belinski, Producer!” I waved sheepishly and bowed. Benjamin Belinski, Producer. I like that.

Lucy touched the tiny gray whiskers (胡须) on a plastic mouse and her fingers were trembling with excitement. “Ms. Thompson will think it’s real!” she whispered to Mia, recalling how their art teacher had nearly dropped her coffee last month when a mouse ran across the schoolyard.
Mia adjusted a mouse’s tail, saying, “But, what if she gets too scared?”
“Relax!” said Lucy. “It’s for April Fools’ Day! She laughed when we drew cat ears on her hat last week. This is just funnier!”
On April Fools’ Day, Lucy and Mia carefully placed some plastic mice under Ms. Thompson’ s sketchbook (素描册) in the art room before Ms. Thompson entered for a class. The girls were looking forward to witnessing the funny moment when Ms. Thompson saw the surprise. Soon Ms. Thompson stepped into the art room and greeted the students cheerfully. The two girls got excited and their eyes kept track of Ms. Thompson until she reached out for her sketchbook. The two girls looked at each other, waiting to together shout out “April Fools!”.
The scream filled the art room the moment Ms. Thompson spotted the plastic mice. Before the girls shouted, they saw Ms. Thompson standing frozen with a pale face. Other students burst into laughter but soon kept silent when they noticed their teacher’s shaking hands. A boy student rushed to pick up the plastic mice and throw them away.
Lucy’s stomach dropped. That wasn’t the playful reaction they’d expected. Ms. Thompson kept cleaning her glasses nervously and her cheerful voice was reduced to whispers. When Ms. Thompson dismissed the class early, leaving her sketchbook open, Lucy and Mia exchanged guilty glances (瞥).
During lunch break, Mia and Lucy had a talk. “We went too far,” Mia said. Lucy nodded with guilt. “We have to do something!” Mia said firmly. Lucy agreed, but she didn’t know what to do.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】
An idea struck Lucy as she saw cat drawings in Ms. Thompson’s sketchbook. The two girls decided to turn those plastic mice into a lovely cat. They found the abandoned plastic mice and worked immediately. After finishing their artwork, they wrote a note reading, “We’re sorry for what we have done. Those mice have been eaten by the cat. That’s a punishment for them. Punish us if you’re still angry. From Lucy and Mia.” After school, the two girls put the lovely plastic cat and the note beside Ms. Thompson’s sketchbook.
In the next art class, Ms. Thompson noticed the plastic cat and the note beside her sketchbook. Lucy and Mia held their breath as Ms. Thompson examined the plastic cat and read the note. Suddenly, Ms. Thompson chuckled — a warm sound like wind chimes. Holding up the plastic cat and displaying it to the whole class, Ms. Thompson announced, “Brilliant recycling!” Applause exploded in the art room. Lucy felt Mia squeeze her hand as Ms. Thompson winked at them. The earlier fear in Ms. Thompson’s eyes was replaced by twinkling pride.

Passage 1
(2024·安徽阜阳皖江名校联盟·联考)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Leo and Matt, both aged 16, are best friends who shared a passion for environmental sustainability. They were both students at a bustling high school in the heart of the city, a school that was infamous for its morning and afternoon traffic jams. The narrow streets leading to the school were always clogged (堵塞) with cars, buses, and bicycles, causing a great deal of inconvenience and pollution.
“Look what we are suffering every day!” complained Leo. “Isn’t there a solution to the problem?” Matt sighed.
They decided to take matters into their own hands and find a solution to the sticky problem. Initially, they made some speeches, distributed leaflets and volunteered to relieve the traffic congestion (拥堵), trying to persuade some parents to park their cars a little farther away the school and not to use cars too often. But two weeks passed, there was nothing better. Then they realized it was no easy work to deal with the trouble. They needed more hands for help and a well-thought-out plan for it.
They first gathered ten schoolmates who shared the same ambition. Then they started to conduct a thorough survey to understand the root causes of the traffic congestion. They interviewed students, teachers, and parents, as well as observed the traffic patterns during different times of the day. They learned that the majority of the congestion was caused by parents dropping off and picking up their children, as well as the lack of sufficient parking spaces.
Armed with this information, the team designed a detailed plan. They proposed the creation of a carpool system for students, encouraging them to share rides to reduce the number of vehicles on the road. They also suggested dedicated drop-off and pick-up zones, clearly marked with signage, to help streamline the process.
To further reduce congestion, they advocated for the construction of bike racks (架子) and encourage students to cycle to school. They even proposed a rewards system for those who chose sustainable modes of transportation.
注意:1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
With their plan in hand, Leo and Matt presented it to the school authorities.

A few months passing by, the school traffic congestion had significantly improved.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】One possible version:
With their plan in hand, Leo and Matt presented it to the school authorities. They were impressed with the students’ initiative and agreed to support their efforts. The school announced the new measures and encouraged everyone to participate. As the weeks progressed, the carpool system took shape, and more students started sharing rides. The bike racks were installed, and more students were seen cycling to school. The rewards system also proved to be a hit. Students who carpooled, cycled, or walked to school were rewarded with points that could be used for prizes, adding a fun element to the initiative and further motivating students to participate.
A few months passing by, the school traffic congestion had significantly improved. The narrow streets were no longer clogged, and the air was clearer. Everyone was happier, and the school community felt more connected and environmentally responsible. They had not only solved a long-standing problem but also instilled a sense of sustainability and teamwork among their peers. Their story spread throughout the school and beyond, inspiring other students to take action and make a positive impact in their own communities. Efforts of responsibility and sustainability have finally paid off.

Passage 2
(2023·安徽合肥第八中学·模拟)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
My wife, Hannah, and I don’t usually keep houseplants. Anything in pots gets either over-watered or under-watered. But after my diagnosis with glioblastoma, a terminal brain cancer, with a prognosis(预测)of little more than a year to live, I loved the idea of having something new and green around.
My friend Mitch gave me what he said was a lucky bamboo plant in a deep-green pottery bowl with three pencil-size stalks(叶柄). We placed the plant in the living room window across from the couch where I spent much of the day. I smiled when I looked at it over the rim of the mug of coffee Hannah brought me each morning. I told Hannah I wanted to care for the plant myself. When it didn’t immediately turn yellow or brown or lose all its leaves, I was pleasantly surprised.
Tending to the plant gave me a sense of accomplishment at a time when I sometimes felt useless. Glioblastoma limited my ability to walk, and the treatment left me tired, making it hard for me to accomplish everyday tasks. As a family physician, I was used to being the one who provided care, not the one who received it.
Since my diagnosis in August 2018, far too often, it seemed, I had to rely on help from other people. The enormous change left me feeling adrift(漂浮的)and unsettled. Watering the plant, as small an act as it was, connected me to a core part of my old identity and taught me I could still be a caregiver. Plants and people could still depend on me.
Over the next few months, I recovered from surgery and completed radiation and the first round of chemotherapy. Even after I returned to work, I continued to care for the plant. Soon, it had nearly doubled in height and its leaves were shiny and lush. Both the tree and I were thriving.

Then, mysteriously, its leaves began to brown and drop.

As my anxiety lessened, I began to search for tips online to care for my sick plant.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】One Possible Version:
Then, mysteriously, its leaves began to brown and drop. I increased my watering, and then decreased it. I fed it commercial plant food. No matter what I did, the leaves kept browning and dropping to the floor. I grew more and more frustrated and uneasy. “I can’t even care for a simple plant!” I yelled to my wife. “I’m useless. Nobody or nothing can depend on me now!” Hannah reminded me that we’d seen houseplants die before but that wasn’t evidence of my incapability or absence of value. I realized I had wrongly connected my value with the bamboo.
As my anxiety lessened, I began to search for tips online to care for my sick plant. It turned out that many people had similar problems and they offered plentiful tips. Following the instructions, I transplanted the tree to a larger pot, untangling its roots to give it room to grow. When it was back in the sunny window, we both began to thrive again. It dawned on me that whether it outlives me or I outlive it, the other should not be to blame.

It was a sunny summer morning, the breeze blowing gently. As planned, Jackson took a trip into the remote wilds near Olom Village, in the Sakha Republic, Russia. His four-year-old daughter, Karina, found him leaving and wanted to follow him to give her dad a surprise. She slipped out of the house, with nobody realizing it, even Jackson.
Unfortunately, she walked too slowly on her way and soon she was lost in the vast, dangerous Siberian wilderness. Luckily for her, her dog, Naida, followed Karina just as the girl followed her father. The two suddenly found themselves walking with no one in sight, drifting away from their home as the hours went by.
Night fell. Karina’s father returned home, and it didn’t take long after that for the whole family to realize what had happened. They couldn’t find Karina anywhere. They turned to the police for help immediately. And they took action at once in search of the lost girl.
A whole week had gone by and there was no progress of the rescue in sight. The whole family was stuck in desperation, but Karina’s mum never lost hope. “Many stopped believing that she was alive, but as a mother I felt that she would be found soon.”
In fact, Karina did survive. Although Siberia is an extremely dangerous place even for otherwise fit adults due to its wildlife and climate, she made it. She survived by eating wild fruits and drinking water from nearby rivers, and she faced the freezing nighttime temperatures by cozying up in a bed of grass. Naida did its best too, scaring away the wild animals and keeping each other warm by sleeping close together at night.
After nine days struggling to survive, scared and alone, Karina could only be grateful about one thing: her good friend was by her side. Naida gave its strength, and actively helped the four-year-old to stay alive for that long. This morning, Naida suddenly walked away and headed back into town, ignoring Karina’s hopeless cry and leaving her completely alone.

Naida did what it could to lead the rescue team to where Karina was.

【答案】This morning, Naida suddenly walked away and headed back into town, ignoring Karina’s hopeless cry and leaving her completely alone. The poor little girl cried with fear, tears blurring her eyes. She curled up in a tight ball, wondering what was waiting for her. At the same time, Naida found its way back home. When Karina’s mum saw it, she was excited, hugging it tightly with tears filling her eyes. She was more convinced that Karina was still alive. The rescue efforts were restarted, giving hope to the family.
Naida did what it could to lead the rescue team to where Karina was. With the help of her sharp smelling, the rescuer spotted the little girl in an overgrown grassy field. Karina was lying there, hiding herself from danger and keeping herself warm. On seeing her beloved friend back, Karina cuddled it close, whispering in its ears. “I know you won’t abandon me. Thanks for your always being with me!” How Naida protected Karina is indeed an amazing proof to the friendship that our four-legged friends can show.

Passage 2
(2026·安徽淮南·二模)

Passage 2
(2023·安徽安庆示范高中·联考)阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
