Then, late one winter evening, just as the boy is thinking of gathering the sheep together to take them home, a wolf really comes. The boy is very afraid. The wolf looks very big in the half darkness and he only has his crook(曲柄杖) in his hand. He shouts, “Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is taking the sheep!” This time, however, the villagers do not come to help him drive away the wolf.
