influential family. He was the first Asian. Tagor won the Nobel
Prize in Literature in 1913, for his poetry collection
Gitanjali (Song Offerings)《吉檀迦利》(献歌集). He translated Gitanjali into English himself. He created many beloved works. They include The Crescent Moon, Stray Birds and The Gardener. They are widely read by teenagers around the world. Tagore was a great thinker. Tagore devoted his life to bridging Eastern and Western cultures and advocating peace and freedom.
