A great team is more than just a group of people working together. It requires trust, communication, and a common goal. Here is a story about a great team.
Last year, our school held a science competition. My classmates and I formed a team called “Explorers”. Our goal was to design a small robot that could help clean the classroom. At first, we faced many problems. Tom, our designer, wanted to make the robot look cool, but Lily, our engineer, thought function was more important. They argued for a long time and couldn’t reach an agreement. As a result, we fell behind other teams.
Our team leader, Mike, didn’t get angry. Instead, he asked Tom and Lily to talk about their ideas separately. He said, “We are a team. Everyone’s ideas are valuable. Let’s put ourselves in each other’s shoes.” After listening to Mike’s advice, Tom and Lily started to understand each other. Tom agreed to focus on function first, and Lily promised to make the robot look nice.
With everyone working together, we made great progress. We met every afternoon to discuss our design and solve problems. When we faced technical difficulties, we asked our science teacher for help. Finally, our robot won the first prize in the competition.
Through this experience, we learned that a great team needs respect for each other’s ideas. A good leader should know how to resolve disagreements and encourage the team. Most importantly, teamwork makes the dream work.

Every spring, there are sports meets at many middle schools. When students on the playground run into a circle and shout loudly, “One, two, one, two.” Do you know what game it is? It is tug of war.
Tug of war is a team sport between two teams at each end of a rope (绳). It first came into being in China 2,400 years ago. It is very popular in China and many other countries. For a tug-of-war match, we need a long thick rope. Each team stands at one end of the rope, holding it. There’s a white line in the middle of the field. Then they try to pull (拉) the center of the rope to their own sides. The winning team is the one that pulls the other over the line.

A. 回答问题
阅读短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
In a little fishing village in Southern Thailand, there are some boys who like to play football. They play with a lot of excitement and interest, running, shouting, jumping and kicking. These boys are really good at controlling the ball because their football field is a raft (木筏) in the middle of the sea. They live on Koh Panyee Island, where all the houses are built on tall wooden sticks. The village has 300 families, but even though it is small, the football team from the village has been very successful. The Panyee Football Club has won the Thai Youth Football Championships seven times since 2004.
The story of the Panyee Football Club began in 1986 when some young boys from the village were watching the World Cup Football Championships on TV. Suddenly one of the boys said, “We watch football on TV, but we’ve never played it.” The boys made a decision. “Our football team starts today. We want to become world champions!” they shouted. But the villagers laughed at them. They asked, “Are you crazy? Have you ever played football before? You’ve already formed a team, but have you found a football field yet? How can you practise?”
The boys made up their mind to make their dream come true. They used old fishing boats and pieces of wood to make a floating (漂浮的) football field. They practised for hours every day, even when it was very wet and smooth after a heavy rain. In their first year, they made it to the semifinals of the local football competition.
The story reminds us that anything is possible only if we set our mind to chase our dreams. The boys never gave up their dream, even when they faced many difficulties. Their hard work paid off, and they became champions.

At first, I was responsible for collecting paper, while others gathered plastic or metal. One afternoon, heavy rain made lots of my paper wet. Seeing my problem, my teammates rushed over with tools to help me re-sort the paper. We worked together, protecting the paper and moving the paper indoors.
