How to Do Shopping Wisely?
Shopping is an important activity in our life. But how to shop wisely and be a smart shopper? Here are my ways.
First, I always make a shopping list before going shopping. I write down what I need and only buy things on the list. It can help me save time and money. I always make a plan, too. I know how much money to pay.
Second, I am careful. I check different shops to look for the best price. And I think again before I make payments. Last but not least, if we can share something with our brothers or sisters, there is no need to buy it.
Let’s be a smart shopper and do shopping wisely!

One night, my family was driving back from visiting my uncle in the middle of a very bad snowstorm.
The road was normally two lanes going in each direction, but there was so much snow that it was down to one lane. We were scared, but we felt safe because my father used to work as a truck driver. He’s a very safe driver.
We were all alone on the highway until three cars pulled up right behind us. They used their lights of the car and beeped their horns (按喇叭), wanting to get by us, but there was no place for us to pull over.
After a while, we stopped at a restaurant to wait for the storm to calm down.
The three cars behind us drove in too. They were full of young men. They were talking about how slow we were driving. One of them said loudly enough for us to hear, “If you don’t know how to drive, you shouldn’t be on the highway.”
Soon after, the young men left even though the storm was getting worse. My father decided that we should wait inside, hoping the storm would stop.
After it cleared a little, we headed down the road. Finally, we came around a turning. We could not believe our eyes — the three cars were all in the ditch (沟渠)!
Dad ran to the cars. The young men were all okay, but they were freezing and very frightened. A police officer arrived and took some of the young men to the next gas station. We gave two of them a ride.
It was a very quiet drive. My dad turned to the young driver and said with a little smile, “You know, if you don’t know how to drive, you should stay off the road.”
The man was very embarrassed. My dad smiled and said, “I was a truck driver for fifteen years and we had a saying : There are old drivers and there are bold (大胆的) drivers, but there aren’t any old bold drivers.”
The young man understood and hung his head in shame.

Isn’t fast food delicious? Aren’t fast food restaurants cool? The answer to these questions is yes. However, there are growing facts that fast food is one of the worst parts of modern life. And studies have shown that burgers and fried chicken, which we enjoy so much, can cause a lot of health problems.
In spite of (尽管) this, why are fast food restaurants so attractive?
The first and most important reason is that their service is fast. Their staff are friendly and very smart-looking in their clean and bright uniforms. Moreover, most fast food restaurants are near places that people always pass by. It is so easy to grab a burger and eat on the way to work.
Fast food is often so conveniently packed that it will not cause a mess even if you stand and eat it. Fast food restaurants are also very clean. Such attractive places are selling junk food! Isn’t it a pity? Is there a way to change the fast food restaurants into special places where you get the best possible, healthy and fresh food?
Well, why not?
As people realize the health problems that fast food causes, it is quite likely that fast food restaurants may go out of date. It may happen sooner or later.
Therefore, instead of resisting (抵制) fast food restaurants, a better idea may be to persuade them to change their menu! Fast food restaurants can be places to go to when you want to eat something that will be good for your body.If they could combine healthy food with their speed service, delicious tastes and comfortable feelings, that will be the next best thing on the earth for human beings!
