Good morning, everyone. I’m Mike. Today I’m going to tell you about my experience at the school sports meeting.
Last Saturday, our school held its yearly sports meeting, which I was excited to join. I took part in the one hundred meter race and the long jump. The playground was packed with students, teachers and parents cheering for us. Before the race, I felt nervous. But my friends encouraged me, saying “you can do it, run fast”. When the starting gun went off, I ran as quickly as I could. Feeling the wind on my face, I was out of breath when I reached the finish line. But I came in third place. My friends and teachers cheered for me, making me feel great.
After a short break, it was time for the long jump. My teacher Mr. Brown who had been helping me advised, “run fast and jump with both feet”. I ran down the runway and jumped as far as I could, landing in the sand. Later, the judge announced that I had jumped four point five meters and I had won the first place. I didn’t expect that I could win. The celebration afterward was fantastic. The happy teacher gave out prizes to the winners. I proudly received my prize and a special T-shirt with the school’s name on it.
My parents were very happy for me and we took lots of photos together. The sports meeting was a day of fine and hard work. It taught me that practice an effort payoff. I can’t wait for next year’s event.

AI in Different Fields 2026-03-15 15:30
Self-driving cars are cars that can drive by themselves. They use sensors, cameras and computers to find their way on the road. Companies like Tesla, Waymo and Baidu are working on them. The goal is to reduce car accidents. Most accidents happen because of human mistakes. These cars can also make public transport better. However, there are still problems. For example, self-driving cars don’t work well in bad weather, and people are not sure if they are safe yet. I believe fully self-driving cars could change how we travel in the future.

AI is helping doctors in many ways. It can quickly check X-rays and MRIs, making it easier to find problems. One big discovery is that AI can find tiny tumors (肿瘤) that doctors might miss. In some cases, AI can even do this better than experienced doctors.AI is also helping make new medicines faster. Some people worry that AI might replace doctors, but experts say AI will only help doctors, not replace them. The human touch is still necessary. In the future, AI may even help predict diseases before people feel sick.
——By Dr. Qian
Smart homes use AI to make life easier.AI can learn your habits and help control things like temperature and lights. Some devices (设备),like smart fridges, can even be controlled by voice. But there are some worries about privacy (隐私) because these devices collect personal information. Despite this, many people still like smart homes because they save energy and improve safety. In the future, it will be important to find a way to protect privacy while enjoying the benefits of new technology.

Punch is a lovely baby monkey from a zoo in Japan. He was born in the summer of 2025. Zookeepers gave him this name to honor Kato Kazuhiko, whose pen name is Monkey Punch, the creator of the famous Japanese comics (漫画) Lupin III. In just a few months, this little monkey has touched millions around the world.
Born in July 2025, Punch’s mother left him shortly after he was born, probably because of extreme (极端的) summer heat and first-time parenting stress. The zookeepers took him in and looked after him carefully. Later he was introduced to a group of 60 monkeys. At first, Punch struggled to fit in. However, the older monkeys were not kind to him. To make him feel better, the keepers gave Punch a soft orangutan (红毛猩猩) toy. Bullied by other monkeys and feeling lonely, he held tightly (紧紧地) to the soft toy for comfort, just like hugging his mother.
Videos of Punch spread quickly worldwide. “Stay Strong, Punch!” became a global message of support, and the orangutan toy soon sold out in many countries. The story which started in a zoo turned into a warm international movement.
Today, Punch is growing stronger and braver. He depends less on the toy and begins to play with other young monkeys. Sometimes he even receives gentle care from adult monkeys. Though he still faces small challenges, he grows braver every day.
Punch’s story has a strong and common meaning. It shows the deep feelings of animals and reminds us that all living things need love and a sense of belonging. It also tells us that kindness, understanding, and strength can really go beyond countries and different kinds of living things.

C.Food shortage. D.High temperature and parenting stress.
28.What does the underlined word “Bullied” in Paragraph 2 probably mean?
A.Loved. B.Harmed. C.Helped. D.Imitated.
29.What can we know about Punch now?
A.He is still weak and afraid of everything.
B.He refuses to get along with old monkeys.
C.He doesn’t fight with adult monkeys any more.
D.He is becoming more independent and outgoing.

China’s New Environmental Code: A Big Step for a Greener Future
On March 12, 2026, China passed a very important new law called the Ecological Environment Code. It was created at the National People’s Congress and is only the second law in China to be named a “code,” following the famous Civil Code. This new code is a major step toward building a beautiful China and protecting our planet for the future.
So, what exactly is this code? It is not a completely new set of rules, nor is it simply a collection of old ones. Instead, it is like a smart organizer that brings together all of China’s environmental laws into one clear and systematic book. The first draft (草案) was introduced in April 2025, and after careful discussion, it was finally approved (通过) in March 2026.
The code has three main parts. First, it includes all the existing laws about stopping pollution and protecting the environment. Once it takes effect, the old separate laws will be replaced. Second, it takes the main ideas from many other rules—like those for protecting rivers, natural resources, and energy saving—and puts them all in one place. Third, and very importantly, the code creates new rules for modern challenges, such as climate change and the goals of reaching “carbon peak and carbon neutrality.” This forward-looking part ensures the law can grow with our changing world.
The main goal of the Ecological Environment Code is simple: to keep our air clean, our water clear, and our land healthy. It encourages everyone to live in harmony with nature and to adopt a green, low-carbon lifestyle.
For teenagers, this law is a powerful reminder that we all have a part to play. It tells us that caring for the environment starts with small, everyday actions. We can save water, reduce waste, plant trees, and choose green travel like walking or biking.
The new code will officially take effect on August 15, 2026. It is a symbol of the rule of law in the new era and shows China’s strong commitment to a greener and more sustainable future for all its citizens.
31.What is the main purpose of this passage?
A.To compare the Environmental Code with the Civil Code.
B.To explain the long process of making a new law.
C.To introduce a new environmental law and its importance.
D.To tell teenagers what they must do to protect the environment.
32.What does the underlined word “forward-looking” in Paragraph 3 most probably mean?
A.Looking back at the past. B.Ready for future changes.
C.Careful with small mistakes. D.Strict with pollution.
33.According to the passage, why is the third part of the code special?
A.It simply collects all the old rules together.
B.It copies ideas from other countries’ laws.
C.It is the easiest part for teenagers to understand.
D.It creates new rules for future challenges like climate change.
34.What can we infer (推断) from the passage about China’s environmental laws before this code?
A.There were no environmental laws at all.
B.They were perfect and didn’t need any changes.
C.They were scattered in different separate rules and regulations.
D.They focused more on teenagers than on factories.
35.Why does the writer mention “the first draft was introduced in April 2025” in Paragraph 2?
A.To show that making the code took a lot of time and discussion.
B.To prove that teenagers were part of the decision-making process.
C.To suggest that the code was created very quickly.
D.To explain why the code is called a “code” and not a “law”.
【答案】31.C 32.B 33.D 34.C 35.A

33.第4段指出:“Third, and very importantly, the code creates new rules for modern challenges, such as climate change and the goals of reaching ‘carbon peak and carbon neutrality.’”
34.第3段指出:“Instead, it is like a smart organizer that brings together all of China's environmental laws into one clear and systematic book.”

China Leads World with First Approved Implantable BCI Medical Device
On March 13, 2026, China reached a major milestone in medical technology. The National Medical Products Administration approved the world’s first commercial implantable brain-computer interface (BCI) device for medical use. This device, called the NEO System, was developed by Shanghai’s Neuracle together with Tsinghua University. With this approval, China has become a leader in the field of neurotechnology.
The NEO System is designed for patients between the ages of 18 and 60 who have cervical spinal cord injuries. These injuries often make it difficult or impossible for people to move their hands freely. The device uses a special type of implant that is placed just outside the brain’s outer layer. Because it does not touch the brain tissue directly, the medical risks are low. The system reads brain signals without any wires and turns them into commands for a robotic glove. With this glove, patients can do everyday things like holding a cup, drinking water, or picking up objects by themselves.
Before the device was approved, it went through clinical trials in 11 major hospitals across China. A total of 32 patients took part in the tests. The results were encouraging. Every patient showed better control of their hands. What’s more, nearly 69 percent of them still had improved nerve function even after not using the device for a long time. While some top international companies are still doing clinical tests with similar technologies, China has already made this life-changing device available for patient care.
This approval means much more than just a technological success. It brings new hope to millions of people around the world who live with paralysis. It also shows how far China has advanced in high-level medical research. This moment is an important step in brain science and shows the growing strength of Chinese innovation. It proves that China can create real solutions to improve people’s lives.
However, experts also remind us that BCI technology is still in its early stages. The long-term effects of the device still need to be studied further. Even so, this achievement marks a bright beginning for the future of medical technology.
36.Why is the approval of this BCI device considered a landmark (里程碑) moment?
A.It is the first time a robotic glove has been used in a hospital.
B.It is the world’s first commercial BCI device officially allowed for patient care.
C.It proves that spinal cord injuries can be completely cured.
D.It was developed by a university without any company support.
37.What can the NEO System help patients with cervical spinal cord injuries do?
A.Move their hands freely and finish daily tasks easily.
B.Take medicine without others’ help.
C.Avoid any medical risks during operations.
D.Become completely healthy at once.
38.What do we know about the clinical trials of the BCI device?
A.The trials took place in 11 hospitals and all 32 patients showed better hand control.
B.All patients stopped using the device after they fully recovered.
C.The trials showed that the device only works for patients under 18 years old.
D.Patients had to use the device every day to keep their nerve function.
39.What can we infer (推断) about BCI development in other countries from the text?
A.They have not yet officially approved a similar device for medical use.
B.They are not interested in helping patients with spinal cord injuries.
C.They have already sold more BCI devices than China.
D.They mainly focus on developing robotic gloves instead of brain implants.
40.Which of the following best describes the author’s attitude toward the new BCI technology?
A.The author thinks it is perfect and has no risks.
B.The author is worried that patients will not accept the surgery.
C.The author reports the success but also mentions it still needs long-term study.
D.The author doubts that the device can really help patients.

根据前文提到的“my mother turned on the dishwasher”以及后文“Mom ordered a new one”可知,此处指洗碗机损坏无法使用,machine“机器”符合语境。
put off“推迟”、dream of“梦想”、worry about“担心”在语义上与主动帮忙洗碗的行为不符。
根据后文“leaving you facing the real work alone”以及“I felt annoyed when seeing a mountain of dishes to wash”可知,刚开始的热情很快就没了。
根据后文“I felt I could slow down and forget all worries”可知,作者从讨厌洗碗到享受洗碗,这是一个意想不到的转变。
根据后文“Gradually, I developed my own habit. I always started with…”
根据前文“I felt I could slow down and forget all worries”可知,洗碗能让作者忘记烦恼,因此它是令人放松的时刻,relaxing“放松的”符合语境。
根据后文“I always started with the dinner plates…”,可知作者形成了固定的洗碗流程,habit“习惯”与固定流程的描述相符。
根据后文“Through the seasons, I watched a pumpkin vine take over the yard—growing well in spring...”,可知作者观察到了自然的变化,nature“大自然”与后文的植物生长场景相符。
根据后文“Now I can fully enjoy the joy of washing dishes, finding peace in the ordinary moments of life”,可知作者从洗碗中获得了快乐与平静,gift“礼物”与作者的感悟相符。
