For example, if you take a walk in Chongqing, you can enjoy the beautiful hills that the city is famous for. In Beijing, you can walk through the historic hutongs. You can see the everyday life of the locals and enjoy the buildings.
Young people like the “city walk” more. They want to enjoy their free time and learn new things, even if they’re busy. He started a super-long livestream (直播). On the first day, he talked and showed things for six hours! He traveled on bullet trains. iShowSpeed’s videos are simple and fun. He uses his phone to show what he sees and makes people laugh with his jokes. He helps people around the world understand each other better. iShowSpeed shows that the truth is more powerful than false stories.

My name is Amy. I want to share something about my first day at my new school.
It was a cold snowy morning after the winter holiday. And it was my first day at my new school. I was walking by myself slowly and worried about lots of things. It was early and there weren’t many people on the road. A girl on a bike passed me quickly and she suddenly fell down in front of me. She was trying hard to get up but fell again. I went over and helped her stand up at once. She said “thank you” with a smile (微笑) and then rode away. The words “Thank you” warmed me a lot and this small thing made me feel less (更少) nervous (紧张的) about my new school.

I knew some of the students were looking at me but I didn’t dare (敢) to look at them. Soon the first class, English, started. Their book was different from those in my old school. When I wanted to know what to do, someone put an English book in front of me. “Let’s share,” the girl beside me said. “Hi, I’m Carrie.” I looked up. It was the girl I helped that morning. The “city walk” is becoming a fun thing to do in China! In China, a popular mobile app called Xiaohongshu now has many more posts (帖子) about city walks. In fact, there are now seven times more posts about it than there were before!
The “city walk” came from the UK and it’s quite different from a traditional trip. When you go on a city walk, you are not dashing to see famous places like the Great Wall or the Forbidden City. Instead (反而), you can take your time to go around the city slowly on foot, enjoy the local (当地的) ways and traditions, and find cool things you might not notice in the past. A city walk takes you away from the busy tourist places and shopping centres. You can walk into a local street, meet the people of the city and see how they live there. For example, you can see an elderly man playing chess in the park or a group of children playing football on a street corner. What’s more, you can try food at small but real restaurants, and learn more about the city’s history.
People who enjoy city walks are curious (好奇的) and love to explore (探索) a city by walking. In this way, they can really feel and understand the city better.
Walking is a fun way to be alone with your thoughts and it’s good for your health. Like someone famous once said, “Loving yourself is the start of a happy life.” The “city walk” is a good way to start the trip by finding fun in exploring.
27.The word “dashing” in Paragraph 2 is closest in meaning to _______.
A.waiting in line
B.taking a break
C.moving slowly
D.going quickly
28.What do we know about city walkers?
A.They like to walk as fast as they can.
B.They are more interested in busy tourist places.
C.They are really curious about the city’s tradition.
D.They like to make friends with locals in the walks.
29.Why does the writer write the passage?
A.To stop people from visiting tourist places.

iShowSpeed is a famous American YouTuber. He has lots of fans. One day, he decided to visit China and show his fans what it’s really like there.
He started a super-long livestream (直播). On the first day, he talked and showed things for six hours! He traveled on bullet trains. Even when the train went through dark tunnels (隧道) in the mountains, his livestream still worked perfectly. That’s because China has super-fast 5G internet almost everywhere, even in far places.
He also showed how easy it is to buy things in China. With just a quick scan of a QR code (二维码) on his phone, he could pay for snacks from street stands, ride the subway, or take a bus in the countryside.
But the best part was meeting friendly people. In Shanghai, old people taught him how to dance with fans (扇子舞). And on the street, strangers gave him cups of yummy milk tea. He felt so welcome!
Some people didn’t like that iShowSpeed was showing such a good side of China. They said mean things, like he was just doing it because China told him to. But his team said that China didn’t pay for his trip. He had been to other countries too and always showed the real stories.
The Chinese embassy (大使馆) in the US saw his videos and thought they were great. They invited Americans to visit China and see for themselves. It’s just like how ping-pong diplomacy (乒乓外交) helped bring people together in 1971. Now, iShowSpeed is doing the same with his videos.
iShowSpeed’s videos are simple and fun. He uses his phone to show what he sees and makes people laugh with his jokes. He helps people around the world understand each other better. iShowSpeed shows that the truth is more powerful than false stories.

It was early and there weren’t many people on the road. A girl on a bike passed me quickly and she suddenly fell down in front of me. She was trying hard to get up but fell again. 【参考范文】
Last Sunday, I went on a trip to the countryside with my classmates.
At 7 o’clock, we set off for the East Farm. We did some farm work in the morning. Then we cooked and ate the vegetables on the farm for lunch. In the afternoon, we played some interesting games together.
I not only enjoyed fresh air but also took exercise. It was a good chance for us to learn about nature. We had a good time there.
