He put the coin inside the bowl and asked us if we could 27 the coin. “Yeah!” we answered and wondered what would happen next. Mr. Lee then asked us to step back 28 and stop when the coin just disappeared from our sight. We followed his instructions and took a few steps back one by one, and then we said together, “Now we can’t see it anymore. The coin is hidden 29 the edge (边) of the bowl.”
Then, Mr. Lee carefully poured water into the bowl little by little, and the coin slowly appeared again! Every one of us was 30 and our eyes were wide open. “How did the coin come back? Did it move?” we asked. All of us tried to guess the reason for this amazing phenomenon (现象). Mr. Lee 31 his head with a warm smile. He asked us to be quiet and then explained the real reason carefully.
Mr. Lee said that the coin appeared again 32 the light travels in a straight line through air but refracts when it enters the water. “Sometimes, seeing is not believing. In life, we should not always trust our eyes blindly. Instead, we need to look twice and 33 what we see,” Mr. Lee told us seriously.

根据后文“He put the coin inside the bowl”,可知李老师拿的是碗,bowl“碗”与后文内容呼应。
27.句意:他把硬币放进碗里,问我们是否能看到这枚硬币。
根据后文“the coin just disappeared from our sight”,可知此处指能否看到硬币,see“看见”与后文的“视线消失”相呼应。
28.句意:然后李老师让我们慢慢后退,直到硬币刚好从我们的视线中消失。
根据后文“took a few steps back one by one”,可知学生们是按步骤慢慢后退的,slowly“慢慢地”符合语境。
根据后文“our eyes were wide open”以及“How did the coin come back?”,可知学生们对硬币重现感到惊讶,surprised“惊讶的”符合当时情景。

根据前文“All of us tried to guess the reason”和后文“then explained the real reason carefully”,可知学生们的猜测都不正确,shook“摇”,shook his head与后文他亲自解释原因的情节相呼应。
根据前文“we should not always trust our eyes blindly”及后文“true understanding often requires careful observation”,可知要思考所见的真实性,think about“思考”正确。care about“关心”和worry about“担心”与语境不符。

Beauty is everywhere in our life, but we often fail to see it because we are too busy. Learning to find beauty can fill our hearts with joy and thankfulness. Here are some simple ways to help you discover it.
34
Take a walk after school and look at the trees, the flowers, or the sunset. Enjoy the way sunlight filters through leaves, or the sound of birds singing. Even a warm cup of tea or a friend’s smile can be lovely if you pause to truly appreciate it.

37
Sit with your family to exchange stories over dinner, or chat with friends about your favorite memories after class. The laughter you enjoy, the quiet understanding between you, and the little inside jokes all hold a special kind of beauty.

Yesterday, I read a report on fruit-picking robots. As I heard about these machines with the robotic arms, I was filled with something like sadness. Our children and grandchildren, I’m afraid, will not be able to understand how our food is grown. Nor will they be able to experience the fun of fruit-picking.
I once spent a few weeks on a farm in New Zealand. There, I met about 50 apple-pickers from Vanuatu. At night, we listened to pop music and washed our clothes as they told me about their experiences of picking pineapples and peaches. Life on the farm was hard. The rooms were small and dark. There was nothing in them but a kettle (水壶) and a shower. However, the trip left me with many sweet memories.
When my son was little, I used to cycle with him half an hour out of town to a farm every few weeks. There, we could pick strawberries. He loved it. He was excited about the smell of the plants, the feel of the soil and the art of guessing which piece of fruit could be the most delicious. And he saw where our fruit came from. I wanted him to understand the effort and energy during the process of producing food.
Deliveries (快递) right to our doors are making us forget how our food is grown and what it looks like. Robotic fruit-pickers, I fear, will be just another step in this direction. I’m afraid that we are making the whole act of eating a hands-off experience. Where is, then, the fun of it?
44.What is the report about?
A.The introduction of fruit-picking robots.
B.The fun of growing food.
C.The experiences of picking fruit.
45.How did the writer feel about the trip in New Zealand?
A.Expensive. B.Unforgettable. C.Disappointed.
46.What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A.Cutting fruit. B.Cycling in the town. C.Picking strawberries.
47.What is the writer’s worry about robotic fruit-pickers?
A.They will make the cost of fruit higher.
B.They will make eating food less fun.
C.They will make fruit less fresh.
48.Which of the following is the structure of the passage?
A. B. C.
【答案】44.A 45.B 46.C 47.B 48.A
44.第一段提到“Yesterday, I read a report on fruit-picking robots.”,明确表明报告是关于水果采摘机器人的介绍。
45.第二段最后提到“However, the trip left me with many sweet memories.”,说明作者认为这次新西兰之旅给自己留下了许多美好的回忆,也就是难忘的。
46.第三段提到“When my son was little, I used to cycle with him half an hour out of town to a farm every few weeks. There, we could pick strawberries. He loved it.”,这里的“it”指代前面提到的去农场摘草莓这件事。
47.最后一段提到“Robotic fruit-pickers, I fear, will be just another step in this direction. I’m afraid that we are making the whole act of eating a hands-off experience. Where is, then, the fun of it?”,说明作者担心水果采摘机器人会让进食变得没有乐趣。
48.第一段作者读关于水果采摘机器人的报告并表达感受;第二、三段分别讲述在新西兰农场的经历以及和儿子去农场摘草莓的经历;第四段表达对水果采摘机器人的担忧。所以文章结构是P1/P2P3/P4 。

A simple way to relax is reading in a quiet, comfortable place. Reducing distractions (使人分心的事) from phones and noise helps you focus. You don’t need much room. 49
Find a quiet, comfortable place. Your reading nook can be a corner, a soft chair, or your bed. With an adult’s help, get some things from home to make it comfortable. 50 You can also put a small plant, a family photo, or a picture you like, which can help you feel relaxed.
Adjust (调节) the lighting. 51 With an adult’s help, you can move a floor lamp beside or behind the area where you’ll read a book. Or position a lamp with an adjustable arm over your reading place. If you’re reading in bed, you can set up a simple book light or use a flashlight to read under the covers.
52 The most important thing you need for your reading place is, of course, books! You can keep a book within reach on a nightstand or a small table. Or keep a small group of books so you can choose one depending on your mood.
Make any space comfortable for reading. You can create a “book corner” almost anywhere. Pack a book and a blanket in your bag for a trip to the park, or bring a book and a soft pillow on a long trip. 53 You can also talk to your family about downloading an audiobook (有声书) you can all enjoy together on car rides.
A.They’re cheap.
B.Here’s how to start.
C.Keep books close by.
D.Home is the best place for reading.
E.Add a pillow, a soft blanket, or your favorite toy.
F.Libraries also have plenty of seating to enjoy reading.
G.You need enough light to read without hurting your eyes.
【答案】49.B 50.E 51.G 52.C 53.F

50.第二段讲找一个安静舒适的地方,在成人帮助下从家里拿些东西让它舒适。空白处后说“你也可以放一盆小植物、一张家庭照片或你喜欢的图片”。因此空白处应举例说明可以放什么物品。选项E“Add a pillow, a soft blanket, or your favorite toy.”(加一个枕头、一条软毛毯或你最喜欢的玩具)符合逻辑,与后文并列。
51.第三段讲调节光线,空白处后说“在成人帮助下,你可以移动落地灯……”。因此空白处应说明需要足够的光线。选项G“You need enough light to read without hurting your eyes.”(你需要足够的光线来阅读而不伤害眼睛)符合逻辑,与后文具体操作衔接。
F“Libraries also have plenty of seating to enjoy reading.”(图书馆也有很多座位可以享受阅读)与前后文并列,使建议更全面。

请阅读下面语篇,根据其内容回答问题,并将答案写在答题卡相应的位置上。
Music plays an important role in helping teenagers manage their emotions (情绪). Through lyrics (歌词) or melodies (旋律), music connects with teenagers deeply. It influences their mental health.
One key way music influences teenagers’ emotions is by acting as a mood regulator (情绪调节器). When teenagers are stressed or worried, calm and gentle music can bring relaxation and peace. When they face challenges, music can also offer comfort and understanding. It allows teenagers to connect with the stories in songs. They realize that they are not alone in their difficulties.
Besides, music is a powerful tool for self-expression among teenagers. It helps them express their emotions, thoughts, and experiences in a way that words alone cannot. It provides them with a safe space to be themselves and explore their own voice.

Subject: My experience of making my dream come true
Dear Brian,
I’m writing to tell you about my experience of making my dream come true.
I had no idea if my dream could come true. But I did what I could. With just a 59 and a quiet wish, I started writing every day.
I soon discovered there was magic in a pen. I was shy and nervous, but one day I wrote about entering the school speech competition. Seeing my wish on paper gave me courage. I practiced daily, and step by step, I made it onto the stage. The words on the page became real signs 60 connected my imagination to the world around me, bringing my dreams one step closer.
From this experience, I learned something important. Believing is what turns a quiet wish 61 power. Sometimes we don’t believe in what’s possible because we doubt ourselves. We let fears and old stories hold us back. But when we connect ourselves with our inner strength, we can forget those old fears. They are replaced by courage and kindness, and this change. 62 us see new possibilities.
Today, I invite you to pick up your pen. Write about the happy moments you hope for, like getting good grades, 63 learning a new skill. Then take one small step: talk to a teacher, or join a club. Keep writing your dreams into the world, and you’ll find your way forward.
I hope my experience can help you. If you have any dreams, just try and never give up.
Best,
Matt

Technology in My Daily Life
Technology products help us a lot in daily life. The technology product I use most is my smartphone.
First of all, it is of great help to my study. When I meet new words in my reading, I can look them up online easily. Secondly, I use it to watch English videos, which improves my listening skills. Lastly, it helps me keep in touch with my friends. We chat and share funny things with each other after school. Thanks to my smartphone, it not only makes my learning become more efficient but also has brought more joy and convenience to my life.
However, every coin has two sides. I do worry that spending too much time on phones can be a problem. Some students play games instead of studying. In my opinion, technology should help us, not control us. We should make good use of it.

A. B. C.

What’s more, music helps teenagers connect with others who share similar feelings and experiences. Whether at concerts or by sharing favorite songs, music provides common ground for teenagers to bond (建立感情) over shared emotions. This sense of connection can be very valuable during the teenage years. During this time, they deal with strong emotions and look for understanding and support.
However, ___________________. Some music can be harmful to teenagers’ emotions and behaviors. This is especially true for songs with violent (暴力的) or sad lyrics. That’s why teenagers should choose music carefully because it can influence their feelings.
In conclusion, the influence of music on teenagers’ mental health is clear. By using this power positively, teenagers can improve emotional well-being and better face the challenges of the teenage years.
54.How can music help teenagers when they’re stressed?
55.Why is music considered a powerful tool for self-expression among teenagers? (No more than 20 words)
56.What do the words “This sense of connection” refer to? (No more than 15 words)
57.Complete the sentence in Paragraph 5 with proper words.
58.What advice would you give to teenagers about choosing music for their mental health?

To: Brian@163.com
Best,
Matt

例文

35
Spend time outdoors like climbing a small hill, sitting by a lake, or just lying on the grass and watching the clouds. It reminds us of the natural wonder beyond textbooks and screens.
36
Help a classmate carry heavy books, say a warm word to someone who looks sad, or thank your parents for their daily care. When you act with care for others, you’ll see the goodness in people’s hearts. The gentle smile you get in return is one of life’s most precious gifts.
37
Sit with your family to exchange stories over dinner, or chat with friends about your favorite memories after class. The laughter you enjoy, the quiet understanding between you, and the little inside jokes all hold a special kind of beauty.
38
True beauty isn’t only found in museums. It’s in the way your favorite song makes your heart feel light, the handwritten note from a friend, or the careful way a cook arranges food on a plate. Even the soft way morning light touches your classroom window is a wonderful work of art.
Finding beauty in life does not require expensive plans or great efforts. It only needs a careful heart and an attentive eye. Once you begin to look, you will find beauty in every corner. It will make every day of your life warm and meaningful.
A.Find beauty in kindness.

Hey everyone! Every year, a magazine comes out with a list of the year’s best inventions. These inventions can be high-tech gadgets (小装置) , fun toys, or cool games. They’re all made to make our lives easier and more fun. This year, we’ve picked three really cool inventions to share with you. Which one do you think is the most amazing?
Figure 03Imagine having a robot that can help you do housework. That’s exactly what Figure 03 is for. Created by a top robotics company, Figure 03 can already do some tasks, such as folding clothes and organizing things. Figure 03 has good tools and uses AI technology to help it move around. Although Figure 03 can finish many tasks by itself, it still needs a little help from humans. For example, people have to start the washing machine first. If the robot drops something, people need to pick it up.
Wind-Borne Systems AtlasKnowing what the weather will be like ahead of time is really important to keep people safe. But sometimes, the weather forecasts (预报) we get aren’t totally right. That’s where Wind-Borne Systems Atlas comes in. With weather balloons that last a long time, it can tell us weather conditions. Each balloon has special sensors (传感器) that can get information on temperature, wind speed, and humidity (湿度) . This information is then sent to a central AI model. The AI model looks at the information and gives us more exact weather forecasts.
Smart Plant Care ToolIf you love plants but find it hard to keep them alive, the Smart Plant Care Tool is here to help. It’s perfect for busy students or workers. It keeps an eye on the soil’s wetness, sunlight, and temperature all the time. The tool has sensors that can tell when your plant needs water, more sunlight, or a change in temperature. If it finds a problem like the plant being too dry or not getting enough sun, it will send a message to your phone through a special app. The app also gives useful advice on watering and tells when to add plant food.
39.What can Figure 03 do?
A.Start the washing machine. B.Pick up things it has dropped. C.Fold clothes and organize things.
40.How does Wind-Borne Systems Atlas get exact weather forecasts?
A.It uses AI technology to take photos of clouds.
B.It uses balloons with sensors and an AI model.
C.It collects information from old weather records.
41.Why is the Smart Plant Care Tool helpful for busy people?
A.It can water the plants by itself.
B.It makes plants grow faster without sunlight.
C.It tells users when to care for plants by sending a message to the phone.
42.What do the three inventions have in common?
A.They all need help from humans.
B.They all use AI or sensors to work.
C.They are all created by top companies.
43.What is the purpose of the passage?
A.To share inventions that make our lives easier and more fun.
B.To introduce how AI can help to deal with problems quickly.

A. B. C.

Best,
Matt
