Paper is one of the basic products of the modern world. From books to toilet paper, everyone uses paper in
daily life.
According to a report,40%of the 15 billion trees cut down are used to produce paper every year.More
importantly, the paper-making process uses lots of water and causes air pollution.
This is where Releaf Paper comes in.The company has found an ingenious way to make environmentally
friendly paper.Instead of using wood to make paper,it uses leaves. The company was set up by Valentyn Frechka.
He has always been interested in biochemistry, which led him to try making paper from grass. When that failed,he
moved on to leaves and achieved success.
So how is the paper produced? Some European cities collect leaves from their streets and send them to
Releaf Paper. Then, using mechanical and chemical processes, the company is able to create one ton of cellulose
from 2.3 tons of leaves.Cellulose is the material that paper is made of.Lignin, the leftover from the processes,is
then sent back to the cities to be used as fertilizer. The new processes use 15 times less water and cause less air
pollution than the traditional paper producing model.
"We are working only with the leaves that we get from cities because we cannot use the leaves from the
forest. It's not easy to collect them in the forest, and there is no need because there is an ecosystem,"Frechka said.
"We get leaves for making paper and return lignin to the cities. It's like a win-win model."

At the start of this term,I made two money goals. The first was to save for a second-hand bike, because I
wanted to ride to school in spring. The second was to give part of my pocket money to a class charity sale.My
brother laughed when he heard this.He said it would be difficult to save for myself and help others at the same time.
I knew he 53 be right, but I still wanted to try.
To begin with,I stopped buying snacks every afternoon.I also took a water bottle from home instead of
buying drinks at school. The changes looked small, yet they made a real 54.Every weekend,I put the saved
money into two boxes. One box was marked "Bike",and the other was marked"Charity".The labels helped me
remember that money should be used with a clear 55.
There were moments when I almost gave up.Once I saw a model car in a shop window and wanted it badly. It
was not too expensive, and I had enough money in my pocket.Still, when I thought about my two boxes,I walked
away.I knew that a small choice today could 56 a bigger plan tomorrow.Self-control,I discovered,is not a
talent people are born with.Instead,it is a57 that grows through repeated choices.
Two months later, our class held the charity sale.I used the money from one box to buy some handmade
bookmarks and sold them with my classmates. We raised more money than we had expected, and our teacher said
every small contribution mattered. That day I felt a kind of happiness that shopping could not easily 58
A week after the sale,I counted the money in my other box.It was enough for the bike I had wanted. When I
finally rode it home,I understood something new.Saving money is not only a way to get things. It can also teach us
59,responsibility and care for other people. The value of money does not only 60 in what it can
buy,but also in the decisions behind each choice.
My brother no longer laughs at my plan.61,he has started keeping a small savings box of his own.
He says he wants to save for a football and also give money to an animal shelter.Maybe good money habits can
spread from one person to another.Sometimes a simple plan is enough to 62 someone else to start.

Encouragement is necessary for humans to develop and work hard.It helps people keep going. Here is a story

the simple note that he received. He tells them that the words on the note had power. Those words helped him to
continue doing a good job.One day,a businessman,who had attended Robert's lecture,decided to take Robert's
ideas to heart.
The more this businessman encouraged his workers, the happier they were."The atmosphere in our company
