Nowadays, many teenagers spend a lot of time on digital devices (电子设备) like phones and computers. They chat online, watch short videos and play games for hours every day. However, this lifestyle brings both convenience and problems.
A recent study shows that over 60% of middle school students use their phones for more than three hours a day after school. Most of them use phones for fun instead of studying. Staring at screens for too long is bad for their eyes. It can easily cause nearsightedness. What’s worse, spending too much time online takes away the time for sports, hobbies and face-to-face communication. Some students even feel lonely in real life although they have many online friends.
Luckily, more and more people have realized the importance of healthy digital habits. Schools are trying to guide students to use phones wisely. They set rules for phone use in class and ask students to put phones away during study time. Parents also play an important role. They should limit (限制) their children’s screen time and encourage them to take up meaningful hobbies.
Teenagers themselves need to make a change too. They can set a clear timetable for using phones. They can spend more time reading, running, drawing or staying with family members. In this way, they can keep a balance between the online world and real life. Life is colorful, and we shouldn’t let small screens take up all our time.

Do you know that many sounds in nature are in danger? Just like animals and plants, some natural sounds are disappearing (消失) fast. These include the singing of birds, the sound of wind in the forest, the running water in small rivers and the sound of waves at sea.
Modern life is making the world noisier. Factories, cars and loud machines make loud noise every day. This noise pollution makes it hard for us to hear soft natural sounds. At the same time, environmental problems make some natural sounds disappear. For example, if rivers are polluted, fish and water birds will leave, so we can no longer hear their sounds. If forests are cut down, birds and insects lose their homes, and their sounds will be gone too.
Scientists are worried about this. They say natural sounds are important to humans. Listening to natural sounds can make people relaxed and calm. It is good for our mind and body. Studies show that people who often hear natural sounds have less stress and better sleep.
Now some people are taking action to protect natural sounds. Some volunteers record different natural sounds and keep them in libraries. Some groups work to protect forests, rivers and oceans. They ask people to make less noise and care more about the environment.
Protecting natural sounds is part of protecting the earth. When we help keep natural sounds alive, we are protecting our home and making the world a more beautiful place to live in.
