What support services are available to me?部分“Tuition cost per course: Tuition is charged per credit hour, so the total cost depends on how many credits each course carries.(每门课程的学费:学费按学分计算,因此总费用取决于每门课程所包含的学分数量)”可知,每门课程的学费是根据学分小时数来确定的。 What’s a field of study?部分“Day or night — attend class online whenever it fits your schedule. Here, the choice is yours.(无论白天还是夜晚,只要符合你的日程安排,都可以在线上课。在这里,选择权完全在你手中)”可知,以职业为导向的在线学位课程课程安排灵活。故选B。 B At the beginning of every school year, a new crop of 15-year-olds pile into my classroom. Some are excited for the new year, while others are unmotivated. Regardless of their attitude, I’m always embarrassed to admit I am scared. Just fake (假装) it until you make it, my fellow teachers advised. But no matter how much I faked it, and how many years spent teaching the same course, the fear has continued. As the relationships with my students deepen, I naturally grow comfortable, but even then, I feel nervous when something unexpected happens in class. One might expect that this would cause me to be ashamed, to practice even harder, or to study public speaking methods. But I have learned another way. This year, I was given a group of 10th graders, and on the first day of class, over half shared in their self-introduction paragraph that they were shy and afraid to speak up in class. My replies on their papers were personal: Did you notice how I held my hands to keep them from shaking today? Did you hear how my voice trembled when I noticed everyone looking at me? And slowly but surely, my students began to open up about the root of their fears. When they saw me, their experienced teacher, trembling, they had more courage during their presentation. When they heard me stumble (磕绊) over my words, they accepted their own pauses trying to find the right ones. Fear of public speaking rarely goes away completely. So many students are silenced by it in the classroom, but we as teachers have the chance to encourage by leading with empathy instead of pushing or disappointment. That starts with finding the courage to be honest about our own flaws (瑕疵). We must then teach ourselves, and by extension, our students to reframe those flaws as strengths rather than weaknesses. 4. What does the author say about her fear of public speaking? A. It becomes easier to hide with practice. B. It prevents her from teaching effectively. C. It remains despite her teaching experience. D. It appears when students are less motivated. 5. How did the author deal with her fear this year? A. She studied public speaking skills. B. She used it to bond with her students. C. She switched to a different course. D. She asked her fellow teachers for advice. 6. How were the students affected by the author’s change? A. They became brave speakers. B. They lost respect for her. C. They found their own flaws. D. They made academic progress. 7. What message does the author want to convey? A. Fear is only as deep as the mind allows. B. Profession is more important than honesty. C. Sharing personal struggles can empower others. D. Public speaking skills make a successful teacher. C 5. B 6. A 7. 根据第二段中的“But no matter how much I faked it, and how many years spent teaching the same course, the fear has continued.(但无论我多么努力假装不害怕,无论教同一门课多少年,这种恐惧依然存在)”可知,尽管作者有多年教学经验,但公开演讲的恐惧依然没有消失。 根据第四段中的“My replies on their papers were personal: Did you notice how I held my hands to keep them from shaking today? Did you hear how my voice trembled when I noticed everyone looking at me?(我在他们的作文上的回复很私人化:你注意到今天我是如何握紧双手防止它们发抖的吗?你听到当我注意到所有人都在看我时,我的声音在颤抖吗?)”和第五段中的“When they saw me, their experienced teacher, trembling, they had more courage during their presentation.(当他们看到我,他们经验丰富的老师,在颤抖时,他们在展示时更有勇气了)”可知,作者今年通过坦诚自己的恐惧,与学生建立联结,以此应对自己的恐惧。 根据第五段中的“When they saw me, their experienced teacher, trembling, they had more courage during their presentation. When they heard me stumble (磕绊) over my words, they accepted their own pauses trying to find the right ones.(当他们看到我,他们经验丰富的老师,在颤抖时,他们在展示时更有勇气了。当他们听到我说话磕绊时,他们接受了自己在寻找合适词语时的停顿)”可知,作者的改变让学生变得更勇敢,敢于在课堂上表达自己,成为勇敢的发言者。故选A项。 根据最后一段中的“So many students are silenced by it in the classroom, but we as teachers have the chance to encourage by leading with empathy instead of pushing or disappointment. That starts with finding the courage to be honest about our own flaws (瑕疵). We must then teach ourselves, and by extension, our students to reframe those flaws as strengths rather than weaknesses.(很多学生在课堂上因此而沉默,但我们作为教师,有机会通过共情来鼓励他们,而不是施压或失望。这首先要鼓起勇气,坦诚自己的瑕疵。然后我们必须教导自己,进而教导我们的学生,将这些瑕疵重新定义为优点而非缺点)”可知,作者想传达的信息是:分享自己的困境可以激励他人勇敢面对自己的恐惧和不足。故选C项。 C In 1993, more than 700 people were sickened (and four died) after eating at a fast-food restaurant chain. It took investigators 39 days to determine that the illnesses were connected and more than a month to find the thing that was making people sick: hamburgers contaminated (污染) with E. coli. Food safety experts and other scientists knew there had to be a faster way to detect and link outbreaks. They determined that if public health laboratories could each conduct the same kind of DNA analysis on bacteria and then share the data, dots could be connected and outbreaks could be identified sooner. And so, PulseNet was born. Launched in 1996, PulseNet, developed in partnership with APHL, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other federal partners and four state public health labs, is a national laboratory network that analyzes a pathogen’s (病原体) unique DNA fingerprint. The resulting data are published to a national database. Microbiologists and epidemiologists from around the country can access the database and determine if there are similarities that indicate cases are related and even share a common source of infection. PulseNet enables investigators to identify eight illness-causing pathogens and discover outbreak clusters (组) in near real-time. Investigations that used to take weeks, for example, can now take only days. That quick turnaround time is essential to saving lives. CDC reports that in the 30 years since PulseNet has been in action, over 1 billion pounds of contaminated food have been recalled and an estimated 270,000 foodborne illnesses associated with three common illness-causing bacteria — Salmonella, E. coli and Listeria — have been prevented. By developing new technologies such as PulseNet 2.0, the newly launched data analysis platform, PulseNet continues to enhance its ability to detect and prevent additional illnesses. In celebration of PulseNet’s milestone birthday, we rounded up stories illustrating the enormous impact the network has had on disease monitoring and outbreak detection. Read on to learn how each one emphasizes PulseNet’s vital contribution to human, animal and environmental health. 8. What does the author want to show by telling the fast-food chain outbreak? A. Food safety was a top priority. B. Illness detection was inefficient. C. Fast food required stricter regulation. D. Public health was a challenging issue. 9. What can PulseNet do? A. Identify rare bacteria. B. Cure certain diseases. C. Collect patients’ fingerprints. D. Conduct DNA analysis on bacteria. 10. What does paragraph 5 mainly talk about concerning PulseNet? A. Its features. B. Its contributions. C. Its future plans. D. Its working principles. 11. What is the purpose of this text? A. To explain the birth of PulseNet. B. To introduce a laboratory network. C. To collect stories for an anniversary. D. To show the progress of food safety tools. B 9. D 10. B 11. 根据第一段“In 1993, more than 700 people were sickened (and four died) after eating at a fast-food restaurant chain. It took investigators 39 days to determine that the illnesses were connected and more than a month to find the thing that was making people sick: hamburgers contaminated (污染) with E. coli.(1993年,超过700人在一家连锁快餐店就餐后出现中毒症状(其中4人死亡)。调查人员耗时39天才确认这些病例互相关联,又花了一个多月才找到致病元凶:被大肠杆菌污染的汉堡。)”可知,作者通过讲述快餐连锁店爆发疫情的事件,想要表明疾病检测效率低下。故选B。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。 根据第三段中“Launched in 1996, PulseNet, developed in partnership with APHL, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other federal partners and four state public health labs, is a national laboratory network that analyzes a pathogen’s (病原体) unique DNA fingerprint.(PulseNet于1996年推出,是与美国公共卫生实验室协会(APHL)、美国疾病控制与预防中心(CDC)、其他联邦合作伙伴和四个州公共卫生实验室合作开发的,是一个全国性的实验室网络,用于分析病原体的独特DNA指纹。)” 根据第五段中“CDC reports that in the 30 years since PulseNet has been in action, over 1 billion pounds of contaminated food have been recalled and an estimated 270,000 foodborne illnesses associated with three common illness-causing bacteria — Salmonella, E. coli and Listeria — have been prevented.(美国疾病控制与预防中心报告称,在PulseNet投入使用的30年里,超过10亿磅受污染的食品被召回,估计有27万例与三种常见致病菌——沙门氏菌、大肠杆菌和李斯特菌——相关的食源性疾病得到了预防。)” 通读全文,尤其是根据第三段中“Launched in 1996, PulseNet, developed in partnership with APHL, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other federal partners and four state public health labs, is a national laboratory network that analyzes a pathogen’s (病原体) unique DNA fingerprint.(PulseNet于1996年推出,是与美国公共卫生实验室协会(APHL)、美国疾病控制与预防中心(CDC)、其他联邦合作伙伴和四个州公共卫生实验室合作开发的,是一个全国性的实验室网络,用于分析病原体的独特DNA指纹。)” B。 D Have you ever found someone copying your gestures or facial expressions during a conversation? This is the Chameleon (变色龙) Effect, the nonconscious mimicry (模仿) of others’ behaviors. Just like a chameleon integrates into its environment, people unconsciously mimic others’ gestures, mannerisms or accents to build connections and smooth interactions, which is a common yet easily overlooked human trait. Psychologists John Bargh and Tanya Chartrand proved the Chameleon Effect in a 1999 experiment. They asked 78 participants to talk with experimenters during a personality test. To avoid conscious mimicry, researchers used photos as a distraction during conversations. The results showed participants unconsciously increased face touching by 20% and foot movement by 50% to match the experimenters. Another part found people who were mimicked rated the experimenters more positively, showing mimicry boosts likability. The Chameleon Effect stems from two main reasons. It is rooted in human empathy — people mimic others to share feelings and build emotional bonds. It also evolved as a survival trait: fitting in with a group helps people gain support and avoid danger. In daily life, this explains why couples or close friends gradually adopt similar speech habits or gestures. This effect also appears in speech and social settings. People may unconsciously pick up others’ accents or phrases after long interactions. For example, a football player once accidentally used a French accent during an interview after living in France for months, a typical display of the effect. However, excessive mimicry may make people lose their sense of self. Such over-mimicry can lead to confusion about one’s true personality. Overall, the Chameleon Effect is a positive social tool that promotes connection and empathy. It helps reduce social tension and build trust between people. While it helps people integrate into groups, balancing mimicry with self-identity is crucial to avoiding losing oneself in social interactions. With this awareness, people can use the effect wisely while preserving their own uniqueness. 12. Which of the following is an example of the “Chameleon Effect”? A. A girl copies her deskmate’s movements. B. A driver follows a policeman’s directions. C. An applicant learns the judge’s expressions by heart. D. An assistant practices a foreigner’s tones on purpose. 13. What can be inferred about the “Chameleon Effect” from paragraph 2? A. Personality changes with conscious mimicry. B. Likability increases mimicry in conversations. C. People mimic others to gain group acceptance. D. Mimicry arouses shared feelings between couples. 14. What is the downside of excessive mimicry? A. The loss of self-identity. B. An end to true connection. C. The failure of mutual trust. D. A decrease in social tension. 15. What is the author’s attitude towards the “Chameleon Effect”? A. Doubtful. B. Critical. C. Dismissive. D. Cautious. A 13. C 14. A 15. 根据第一段“Have you ever found someone copying your gestures or facial expressions during a conversation? This is the Chameleon (变色龙) Effect, the nonconscious mimicry (模仿) of others’ behaviors. (你是否发现有人在对话中模仿你的手势或面部表情?这就是变色龙效应,即无意识地模仿他人的行为。)”可知,变色龙效应是无意识地模仿他人行为。A选项“一个女孩模仿她同桌的动作”,符合无意识模仿这一特点,是变色龙效应的例子。B选项“司机听从警察的指挥”,是有意识的行为;C选项“申请人用心学习评委的表情”,是有意识的;D选项“助手故意练习外国人的语调”,是有意为之。故选A项。 根据第二段“It also evolved as a survival trait: fitting in with a group helps people gain support and avoid danger. (它也是一种生存特征:融入群体有助于人们获得支持并避免危险。)”可知,人们模仿他人是为了融入群体,获得群体接受。故选C项。 【14题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“However, excessive mimicry may make people lose their sense of self. Such over-mimicry can lead to confusion about one’s true personality. (然而,过度模仿可能会让人失去自我意识。这种过度模仿会导致对自己真实性格的困惑。)”可知,过度模仿的缺点是失去自我意识。故选A项。 根据最后一段“While it helps people integrate into groups, balancing mimicry with self-identity is crucial to avoiding losing oneself in social interactions. With this awareness, people can use the effect wisely while preserving their own uniqueness. Helping others can be one of the most meaningful things you do, but it can also take a lot out of you, making you lose sight of the fact that you need support, too. You might think pushing through is normal. ____16____ You need to learn how to invest in yourself and pay attention to your mental well-being. Burnout doesn’t always look like exhaustion. Burnout isn’t always obvious. ____17____ It can be irritability (易怒), lack of focus, or feeling like you’re disconnected from the work you used to enjoy. Being aware of the emotional signs early makes it easier to step in and make changes. That might mean adjusting your schedule, taking breaks when you can, or just giving yourself permission to unplug after a long day. Learning something new boosts mental energy. Doing the same routine every day can start to feel dull. ____18____ Adding something fresh to your day, like learning a new technique or exploring a new topic, can bring your energy back. A few minutes a day reading an article, watching a short tutorial, or engaging in a new task can refresh your mindset. ____19____ If you want to know how to invest in yourself, having control over your schedule can make a huge difference in how you feel day to day. When you’re able to choose how and when you complete tasks, it reduces stress and helps you feel more balanced. Small wins matter for motivation. Sometimes big goals feel out of reach. That’s why small wins are so important. Checking something off your list — even if it’s just attending a class — builds positive drive. ____20____ Over time, those small wins lead to larger milestones. A. When that happens, your interest and motivation can fade. B. Purpose is a powerful mental health tool. C. Sometimes it can mean saying yes to extra tasks. D. It doesn’t only appear as physical tiredness. E. But the truth is, constantly putting yourself last isn’t sustainable. F. Time flexibility leads to emotional stability. G. I want specific details. Begin!” I sat with my pencil over my paper. For a moment, I hesitated. I knew I didn’t really have someone like that. Still, I lowered my head and began to write: My best friend is Hayley. She plays the cello (大提琴), like I do, and we go to orchestra every Saturday. She makes people laugh, and whenever I feel nervous, she tells me, “You’ve got this.” We’ve been best friends since fourth grade. I knew Hayley wasn’t real, but it was easier than explaining why I didn’t have a best friend. In fact, there was a girl in my orchestra class, Emily, who usually practiced the cello in the music room. Once, she helped me adjust my bow hold after a rehearsal (排练) and gave me an encouraging smile. “You’ve got this,” she said softly. I had also seen her patiently help another student work through a difficult passage, never showing the slightest impatience. We didn’t talk much because I was too shy to start a conversation, but I couldn’t forget her kindness. Without realizing it, I had borrowed pieces of her to create Hayley. At school, I didn’t have real friends. My classmates were polite and kind, but I was just too hesitant and shy to be the first to reach out. When I needed someone, I didn’t know who to turn to. When loneliness came over, I would imagine someone like Emily beside me, her gentle voice offering encouragement. She was the friend I wished I could have. The next day, Ms. Garcia returned my essay with a bright red “A”. “Hayley sounds wonderful! I’ve signed you and her up to perform a cello duo (二重奏) at next Friday’s Cultural Festival.” My heart skipped a beat. The lie I had built for protection suddenly turned into a trap. I was totally at a loss. Anxious, I decided to turn to Ms. Garcia. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The next day, I went to the music room to find Emily. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Anxious, I decided to turn to Ms. Garcia. I walked to her office with heavy steps, my hands sweating. “Ms. Garcia, I have to tell you the truth,” I whispered, my voice trembling. I explained that Hayley wasn’t real — I made her up because I was too shy to admit I had no best friend. To my surprise, Ms. Garcia didn’t blame me. She patted my shoulder gently and said, “It’s brave of you to tell the truth. Why not ask Emily to be your partner? She’s kind and plays the cello well.” Her words gave me the courage I needed. The next day, I went to the music room to find Emily. She was practicing the cello, her fingers moving smoothly over the strings. Taking a deep breath, I walked over. “Emily, I…I was wondering if you’d like to play a cello duo with me at the Cultural Festival,” I said, avoiding her eyes. She stopped playing and smiled warmly. “I’d love to!” she replied. As we practiced together, we talked more — about music, our hobbies, and our fears. Slowly, I realized that the friend I had imagined was right in front of me, and I finally had a real best friend. 词汇激活 行为类 ①低语:whisper/murmur ②解释:explain/account for ③意识到:realize/be aware of 情绪类 ①温柔地:gently/tenderly ②令某人惊讶的是:to one’s surprise/to one’s amazement 【点睛】[高分句型1]As we practiced together, we talked more — about music, our hobbies, and our fears.(运用了as引导时间状语从句) [高分句型2]Slowly, I realized that the friend I had imagined was right in front of me, and I finally had a real best friend.(运用了that引导的宾语从句,省略了关系代词that引导的限制性定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 康杰中学2026届冲刺模拟卷(三) 英 语 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 做题时,先将答案标在试卷上。 1. B At the beginning of every school year, a new crop of 15-year-olds pile into my classroom. C In 1993, more than 700 people were sickened (and four died) after eating at a fast-food restaurant chain. D Have you ever found someone copying your gestures or facial expressions during a conversation? D. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
