根据后文“All the cars stood up in a line ”所有的车都排成一行,说明是交通堵塞导致的无法通行,trapped表示受到限制的,符合语境。
根据后文“…everyone put him to scorn (奚落) for creating this public inconvenience.”
根据后文“We worked together to push the car. ”作者和其他好心人一起推车,说明车子已经broken down坏了,不能移动了。run away 逃跑与实际不符。
【5题详解】
句意:在场的所有人都只是盯着这个男人,没有人主动上前提供帮助。
根据下文,车辆的拥堵数量还在增加,说明并没有人帮助他,只是staring at 盯着他,奚落他。并没有人care about 关心他,故排除。
【6题详解】
句意:与此同时,他们因为交通堵塞而责备这个人。
与后文“ everyone put him to scorn (奚落) for creating this public inconvenience.”
根据下文“not only avoids conflicts further, but also spreads love.”,可以看出这里是wise明智的选择是最符合语义的。

Passage B
On cold winter days in Beijing, some restaurants are spreading warmth by offering free dishes to people in need, such as taxi drivers and street cleaners. In this way, they are making a difference to the lives of many.
For example, Wang Hong, the boss of a barbecue restaurant, has been offering free drinks to delivery drivers and street cleaners since 2012. Recently, he started a free-meal project with the help of the neighborhood. For him, it’s personal. “When I first came to the city, I had nothing. I was learning in a restaurant. People helped me even though they didn’t know me.” he said, “This is my way of giving back to society and teaching my child to be thankful.” His restaurant welcomes anyone in need. The meals are simple but hearty—a bowl of soup, with rice, noodles or dumplings. “We try to serve food people like.” he said, “And there is always something to satisfy everyone.”
Wang is not alone. Yushiji, another restaurant also offers meals to the people in need at a low price. For just 12 yuan, customers can enjoy a hot, hearty meal that usually costs much more. According to the manager of the restaurant, Li Jun, customers in need can get either beef soup with a Chinese pancake or noodles with mutton. Noodles are refilled for free.
Delivery drivers like Fan Xingang often come and eat here. “My friends told me about this place. It’s not just good for the low price.” Fan said, “They show us respect and kindness.”

A. To attract more customers. B. To give back to society.
C. To help his child study better. D. To get on well with neighbors.

C. There is no free lunch in the world. D. ALL restaurants should be required by law to help people in need.
16. What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A. Beijing takes the lead in many ways. B. People shouldn’t show off wealth.

Passage C
Has a person ever warmly held a door open for you? How do you feel after playing with friends? And what would you say is your favourite family memory? These questions have one thing in common: they’re all about connecting with people. “Let’s Connect” is the theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week. It improves mental health by building healthy social connections.
Humans naturally connect with others, whether that’s family, friends or people in our community. Healthy connections give people energy and support—we all need people to celebrate and share our worries with. Social connections aren’t just about mental health; they improve physical health too, helping us to live a long life. Research suggests being lonely can slowly harm your health. Humans’ need for connection is different from person to person, but what’s important is not how many relationships you have, but how good your relationships are.
Then how to connect with others? “You can reach out and connect with people in so many different ways,” says Julia Clements of Place2Be, the organizer behind Children’s Mental Health Week. You can connect in person or online, with your friends, parents, teachers or classmates. It’s not just people, either. “Some people feel connected with their pets or in nature,” says Clements. She advises making time to build more connections through actions as well as words. Being kind, listening to others and trying new experiences are all good tools.
Everybody may feel lonely sometimes and refuse to talk to others. Keep in mind that connections change—some become stronger, while others stop. “Remember that there are always people that care for you,” advises Clements. She says it’s important to tell someone you trust about how you are feeling, or safe organizations such as Childline or Shout. They can help, whether you’re looking to form new connections or repair a strained (紧张) relationship that is important to you.
17. The writer uses three questions in the beginning to ________.
A. express worries about humans B. lead into the topic
C. introduce health problems D. interest readers in family memory
18. Paragraph 2 is mainly about the ________ of connecting with others.
A. ways B. popularity C. importance D. rules
19. Clements may agree that ________.
A. it is better to connect with pets than people
B. using words is the best way to build connections
C. people should only communicate with others face to face
D. talking to others can be helpful to a lonely person
20. What is the text mainly about?
A. How do you refuse to talk to others? B. What should you do when you feel lonely?
C. Being lonely isn’t good for your health. D. Healthy social connections can improve health.
B 18. C 19. D 20. D
分析“Healthy connections give people energy and support—we all need people to celebrate and share our worries with. Social connections aren’t just about mental health; they improve physical health too, helping us to live a long life. Research suggests being lonely can slowly harm your health.”
根据第三段“She advises making time to build more connections through actions as well as words.”和“Everybody may feel lonely sometimes and refuse to talk to others. Keep in mind that connections change——some become stronger, while others stop.”
Passage D
①Does life sometimes seem to be full of impossible problems? How many times, for example, do you find yourself saying things like “I really don’t understand this Maths problem”, or “I can’t get into the school team”? Well, maybe it’s time to introduce yourself to the power of “yet”. By adding this simple word, you can change everything. “I really don’t understand this Maths problem yet.” “I can’t get into the school team yet.” Suddenly, the impossible becomes possible. You can imagine those things happening.
②I read about a school that has changed the way it marks its students’ exams. The school find out that the old pass/ fail system wasn’t helping students’ motivation(积极性). If you passed, then great, but those students who didn’t pass often felt like failures. So now students who don’t pass the exams will not see a big red F on their papers; they see a “Not yet” instead. That way the students feel that they are on a journey. They haven’t reached the end, but they know that they are going the right way.
③This kind of thinking is part of what experts call “having a growth mindset”. People with a growth mindset don’t concentrate on failure. They aren’t worried by not getting things right the first time and are happy to keep trying until they do. They enjoy the challenge and believe they can change. In contrast, people who just focus on the failure have what the experts call “a fixed mindset”. These people are always worried about failure and are happy to give up when things don’t go right. They don’t think that they are able to change. Clearly, it is better to have a growth mindset than a fixed mindset.
④But don’t worry if you think that you have a fixed mindset. ________. Remember that it all starts with questioning the things you believe about yourself. Stop believing that you can’t or you haven’t and realize that you just can’t or haven’t yet. Once you start doing this, you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it before. It’s one small but very powerful word.
21. The example in Paragraph 2 is to ________.
A. express a feeling B. describe a problem C. show the result D. support the topic
22. According to the passage, which one of the following has “a growth mindset”?
A. Jack got an “A” in the exam. He was quite happy to tell his parents.
B. David failed in a competition, but he stays confident and keeps trying.
C. Jenny found it hard to work out the maths problem, so she gave it up.
D. Emma was refused by school team. She didn’t want to have another try.
23. Which of the following can be put into ________?
A. Experts will help you grow up healthily in mind
B. You can train yourself to develop a growth mindset
C. Everyone has his own advantages and disadvantages
D. You can change everything by adding the small word “yet”
24. Which of the following can be the best title for the passage?
A. The Power of “Yet” B. Two Different Mindsets
C. Nothing Is Impossible D. On the Way to Success
D 22. B 23. B 24. A
