Therefore, labels on products help consumers make informed choices. The primary function of these marks is to ensure the safety of users and property. For instance, electrical equipment sold in the European Union must carry the “CE” mark. This sign proves that the product meets all relevant EU standards. Unlike an official approval, it is based on the company’s own evaluation. In contrast, the Chinese “CCC” mark requires testing by an official organization, and a certificate must be obtained. Products without the “CCC” mark cannot be sold in China. Other marks are also important. The French “FR” sign instructs consumers to separate packaging for recycling. The “RoHS” mark shows a product limits harmful materials under EU rules, but as it is merely one part of the CE standard, it does not ensure full compliance (遵守). Codes like “SKC/SKU” are simply used by companies to manage their product storage. Most importantly, products must have clear safety warnings on their labels, or they will be banned from the market. Below is a product label: ▲WARNING To avoid danger of choke, keep this plastic bag away from babies and children. Do not use it in beds, carriages or playpens. ▲WARNING This product contains a button cell or coin battery. A swallowed button cell or coin battery can cause Internal Chemical Burns. Battery liquid is poisonous and can cause dizziness and other serious symptoms. 21. What is a feature of the “CE” mark? A. Official testing required. B. Self-assessment by the maker. C. Focus on recycling only. D. Storage code for companies. 22. What is the purpose of the “FR” sign? A. To limit harmful materials. B. To prove EU safety standard. C. To guide waste separation. D. To manage product storage. 23. Where is this text most likely taken from? A. A company storage guide. B. A consumer safety manual. C. A product delivery label. D. A government trade paper. B 22. C 23. 根据文章第三段“The French “FR” sign instructs consumers to separate packaging for recycling.(法国的“FR”标识旨在引导消费者将包装进行分类以便进行回收利用)”可知,FR标志的作用是指导消费者将包装分类以便回收利用。 根据全文内容,结合第一段“In today’s global trade, product safety is extremely important. Therefore, labels on products help consumers make informed choices.(在当今的全球贸易中,产品安全性至关重要。因此,产品上的标签有助于消费者做出明智的选择)”可知,文章主要介绍了不同产品安全标志的含义、功能以及产品标签上安全警告的重要性,旨在帮助消费者理解标签信息,做出安全、明智的消费选择。因此,本文最有可能出自一本消费者安全手册。故选B。 B Kate Townshend looks beyond the pages of her favourite books, sharing what she has learned from the women whose voices we don’t hear but whose presence is felt deeply. “There’s really no such thing as the ‘voiceless’. There are only the intentionally silenced, or the preferably unheard.” This quote from Arundhati Roy is one I’ve turned over in my mind a great deal as a reader, and I wonder if it explains my fascination with a certain kind of character that I’ve noticed cropping up in all sorts of literary forms from novels to plays to classical epics (史诗). Specifically, I’m talking about the characters I’ve come to think of as the “silent women” of literature— those whose presence haunts the edges of all sorts of stories; those who are denied voices of their own. In fact, my favourite novel contains one such figure. In Daphne Du Maurier’s Rebecca, we never actually meet Rebecca except in flashbacks and third person accounts. Despite this, her influence looms (隐约出现) large, and in her absence, many of the answers to the book’s key questions are just out of reach. If she’s really the monster (怪人) that some of the novel’s living characters paint her as, for instance, then why does she inspire such loyalty and love? Rebecca was one of my first lessons in my viewpoint— how we can all easily become the villain if we let other people tell our stories. And once I started looking, I found these “silent” women everywhere, still managing to speak volumes beyond imprisonment, madness and even death. I wonder if we see these silent women sometimes, particularly in historical literature, because female authors like Du Maurier were engaged in their own struggles to be heard. Protecting themselves behind male pseudonyms (笔名) and accepting judgement and ridicule were part and parcel of putting pen to paper for many women writers, so perhaps it’s unsurprising that these themes of the importance of voice crop up in their stories too. These apparently “silent” characters have so much to teach us in the end, if we can only learn to listen. 24. What can be inferred about Kate Townshend? A. She’s a book reviewer. B. She’s a writer of novels. C. She’s a lover of literature. D. She’s a character the author pities. 25. How does the author develop Paragraph 4? A. By quoting some famous sayings. B. By giving an example to support his/ her idea. C. By describing the main character in detail. D. By listing some of his/ her favourite novels. 26. What does the underlined word “villain” in Paragraph 5 refer to? A. A person who is a bad character. B. A person who intends to be silent. C. A voiceless person that can’t speak. D. A person who pretends not to hear. 27. What’s a suitable title for the text? A. Why should we speak out our own viewpoint? B. How can we learn to understand voiceless people? C. What can we learn from the “silent women” of literature? D. Why are more women beginning to stand up for women? C 25. B 26. A 27. 根据文章第一段“Kate Townshend looks beyond the pages of her favourite books, sharing what she has learned from the women whose voices we don’t hear but whose presence is felt deeply.(Kate Townshend不仅阅读她最喜欢的书籍,还分享了她从那些我们听不到声音但却能深深感受到它们的存在的女性身上学到的东西。)” 第四段中“In Daphne Du Maurier’s Rebecca, we never actually meet Rebecca except in flashbacks and third person accounts. Despite this, her influence looms (隐约出现) large, and in her absence, many of the answers to the book’s key questions are just out of reach. If she’s really the monster (怪人) that some of the novel’s living characters paint her as, for instance, then why does she inspire such loyalty and love?(在Daphne Du Maurier的《Rebecca》中,除了在闪回和第三人称叙述中,我们从未真正见过Rebecca。 根据画线词所在句“Rebecca was one of my first lessons in my viewpoint— how we can all easily become the villain if we let other people tell our stories.(Rebecca给了我关于我的观点的第一课——如果我们让别人讲述我们的故事,我们所有人都很容易变成villain 。)”以及后文“And once I started looking, I found these ‘silent’ women everywhere, still managing to speak volumes beyond imprisonment, madness and even death.(当我开始观察时,我发现这些“沉默”的女性无处不在,她们仍然能说出比监禁、疯狂甚至死亡更深刻的话语。)” A选项“A person who is a bad character.( 一个品行不好的人。)” 故选A。 根据第四段中“In Daphne Du Maurier’s Rebecca, we never actually meet Rebecca except in flashbacks and third person accounts. Despite this, her influence looms (隐约出现) large, and in her absence, many of the answers to the book’s key questions are just out of reach. If she’s really the monster (怪人) that some of the novel’s living characters paint her as, for instance, then why does she inspire such loyalty and love?(在Daphne Du Maurier的《Rebecca》中,除了在闪回和第三人称叙述中,我们从未真正见过Rebecca。尽管如此,她的影响力还是很大,在她不在的情况下,书中许多关键问题的答案都遥不可及。如果她真的是小说中一些活生生的人物所描绘的怪物,那么为什么她会激发人们对她的忠诚和爱呢?)”以及最后一段中“These apparently “silent” characters have so much to teach us in the end, if we can only learn to listen.(如果我们能学会倾听,这些看似“沉默”的角色最终会教给我们很多东西。)” 因此,最适合作为文章标题的是“What can we learn from the ‘silent women’ of literature?(我们能从文学中的“沉默的女性”身上学到什么?)” C。 C A recent survey found children would rather be online influencers (网红) than astronauts. It made headlines and led to plenty of complaints about “kids these days”. Is influencing a promising career path? The lifestyles we see advertised on social media are enticing, but under the shining appearance lie uncertain income, pay inequality, disability and mental health issues. Successful influencers will be the first to claim that anyone can make it in the industry. However, social media economy experts uncovered a huge income gap between successful influencers and everyone else. For most people trying to become an influencer, their passion projects of content creation often become free work for brands. Most influencers are self-employed, often experiencing inconsistent income and a lack of protection that comes with long-term employment. The risks of self-employment are increased in the influencer industry by an absence of industry standards and little pay transparency. Influencers are often forced to assess their own value and determine fees for their work. As a result, content creators often undervalue their own creative labour, and many end up working for free. Influencers are also often at the mercy of algorithms — the behind-the-scenes computer programs that determine which posts are shown, in which order, to users. Platforms share little detail about their algorithms, yet they finally determine who and what gains visibility and influence on social media. The threat of invisibility is a constant source of insecurity for influencers, who are under constant pressure to feed platforms with content. If they don’t, they may be “punished” by the algorithm — having posts hidden or displayed lower down on search results. Constant online presence leads to one of the most common issues in the influencer industry: mental health concerns. Influencers can connect to their platform workspaces and audience at any time of day or night, which can lead to them overworking. Coupled with the fear of online criticism, it contributes to mental and physical health issues. Although becoming an influencer may look appealing to more and more people, the industry’s dark underside needs to be made visible and improved through enhanced employment regulation and industry-led cultural change. 28. Which of the following words cans replace “enticing” in Paragraph 1? A. Imaginative. B. Similar. C. Attractive. D. Traditional. 29. What’s one of the reasons for influencers’ undervaluing their creative work? A. Standardized protection. B. Invisibility of payment. C. Assessment of own work. D. Passion for content creation. 30. What may cause the influencers’ stress according to Paragraph 4? A. Having to work out the order of posts to be displayed. B. Finding it difficult to create new content constantly. C. Having little knowledge of platform algorithms. D. Being unequally punished by platforms. 31. Why does the author write this text? A. To show the dark side of working as an online content creator. B. To reveal relationships between platforms and influencers. C. To stress the importance of visibility in the online world. D. To describe the life of self-employed content creators. C 29. B 30. C 31. 由文章第一段中“The lifestyles we see advertised on social media are enticing, but under the shining appearance lie uncertain income, pay inequality, disability and mental health issues. (我们在社交媒体上看到的那些网红宣传的生活方式很enticing,但在这光鲜亮丽的外表之下,存在着收入不稳定、薪酬不平等、身体伤残以及心理健康等问题。)”可知,网光鲜亮丽的外表说明网红宣传的生活方式很诱人,enticing的意思是“诱人的,吸引人的”。可以用Attractive“吸引人的”来替换。故选C。 【29题详解】 细节理解题。由文章第三段中“The risks of self-employment are increased in the influencer industry by an absence of industry standards and little pay transparency. Influencers are often forced to assess their own value and determine fees for their work. As a result, content creators often undervalue their own creative labour, and many end up working for free. 由文章第四段中“Influencers are also often at the mercy of algorithms — the behind-the-scenes computer programs that determine which posts are shown, in which order, to users. Platforms share little detail about their algorithms, yet they finally determine who and what gains visibility and influence on social media. The threat of invisibility is a constant source of insecurity for influencers, who are under constant pressure to feed platforms with content. 通读全文,尤其是由文章第一段中“The lifestyles we see advertised on social media are enticing, but under the shining appearance lie uncertain income, pay inequality, disability and mental health issues. (我们在社交媒体上看到的那些网红所宣传的生活方式很诱人,但在光鲜亮丽的外表之下,存在着收入不稳定、薪酬不平等、身体损伤以及心理健康等问题。)”和最后一段“Although becoming an influencer may look appealing to more and more people, the industry’s dark underside needs to be made visible and improved through enhanced employment regulation and industry-led cultural change. (尽管成为网红对越来越多的人来说可能很有吸引力,但这个行业的阴暗面需要被曝光,并且需要通过加强就业监管和行业引领的文化变革来加以改善。)”可知,文章通过分析网红职业的吸引力及其背后的挑战,揭示了这一行业的负面影响,例如收入不稳定、算法控制、心理健康问题等。因此,作者写作的目的是展示作为在线内容创作者的黑暗面。故选A。 D A surprising analysis of 15 studies reveals that patients perceive more warmth in AI-generated medical responses than in those from human doctors. The largest study examined 2,164 patient interactions, with similar patterns emerging across smaller datasets. The results, published in the British Medical Bulletin, challenge long-held assumptions about human connection in medicine and run counter to a 2019 UK government report that called empathy an “essential human skill that AI cannot replicate (复制).” ChatGPT and similar AI chatbots scored roughly 2 points higher than human healthcare professionals (HCPs) on 10-point empathy scales when responding to patient questions via text. AI had a 73% probability of being rated as more empathic than human practitioners in head-to-head comparisons. “In text-only scenarios, AI chatbots are frequently perceived as more empathic than human HCPs,” study authors wrote. The meta-analysis from the Universities of Nottingham and Leicester pooled data from 13 of the 15 studies comparing AI chatbots to doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers. Studies drawing from Reddit health forums and patient portals showed similar trends. Questions ranged from interpreting blood test results to managing chronic conditions to understanding cancer treatment options. Across this variety, AI responses were more likely to be rated as warm, understanding, and considerate of patient concerns. The studies couldn’t determine whether AI’s perceived empathy advantage translates to better health outcomes. While empathic communication has been linked to reduced patient pain and anxiety, improved medication adherence, and higher satisfaction with care, these studies measured perception rather than clinical impact. The findings suggest that empathetic AI can provide valuable support in healthcare fields, thereby enhancing the roles these technologies can play in our everyday lives. While the results were strong, this study represents a broad perspective and does not account for differences in socio-cultural backgrounds among participants. Cultural differences can greatly influence how empathy is perceived and assessed. Future work could look closely at how people from different backgrounds view empathetic responses in both humans and AI to enhance understanding in this area. 32. What is the main finding of the analysis? A. Empathy is a unique human skill beyond AI’s reach. B. Patients find AI’s medical replies more sympathetic. C. AI provides more effective treatment plans than humans. D. AI shows greater competence in routine patient inquiries. 33. What’s the primary purpose of paragraph 2? A. To present research evidence. B. To explain underlying causes. C. To predict future developments. D. To describe relevant background. 34. What can be implied from paragraph 3? A. AI’s empathy is irrelevant to patient satisfaction. B. AI’s empathy may not improve actual clinical outcomes. C. AI’s assistance is widely applied across different patient groups. D. AI’s empathy can directly lead to better health conditions of patients. 35. What is the author’s attitude towards the studies? A. Supportive. B. Doubtful. C. Critical. D. Objective. 32. B 33. A 34. B 35. Cultural differences can greatly influence how empathy is perceived and assessed.(虽然研究结果十分显著,但这项研究视角较为宽泛,并未考虑到参与者之间在社会文化背景方面的差异。 The Power of Peers Do birds of a feather really flock together? People do tend to choose friends who are similar to them. Many behaviors spread socially. Activities in certain brain areas change when other people are around. ____36____ You can use the power of social relationships to gain healthier habits — and motivate others to do the same. ____37____ Teens are especially responsive to peer influence. At the same time, the reward system in the teen brain becomes extra sensitive. Teens are just learning to explore the social world. Understanding other people’s values and being influenced by them are important parts of socializing. A research shows that even just having another peer around can change the reward response in the brain and also the risk-taking tendencies of teenagers. Some people seem to be more easily influenced than others and more sensitive to feeling included or excluded by others. ____38____ But it’s also a time that peer influence can help teens thrive if it gets them more involved with their community or helps them learn behaviors to get along with others. It’s the quality of friendships — not quantity — that really makes the difference. Friendships you feel you want to let go of may be low quality. ____39____ High quality friendships provide understanding, support, and recognition of your self-worth. These types of friendships are more steady and satisfying. Spending time with friends can be especially helpful for people. Noticing that our behavior is influenced by other people, we can be intentional and try to focus on the people who are doing the things we want to get into ourselves. ____40____ A. Adolescence is such a risky period. B. That can affect what you choose to do. C. Peer pressure can sometimes lead to competition. D. People care about what others think across all different age groups. E. They are linked to poor academic performance and behavioral issues. F. Sharing your healthy habits could also make a real difference to others. G. The number of friends you have determines your level of social influence. 36. B 37. D 38. A 39. E 40. Her elder sister Serena was now dancing at a college. Though Kelly’s mom always wanted her to follow in her sister’s footsteps and Kelly herself was good at ballet, her love for ballet had faded years before, and she was eager for a new challenge. One day at school, as Kelly left the dance studio, she walked past the gym, fascinated by boxers training inside the boxing ring She was deeply impressed by how hard they hit and how fast they moved. In fact, she’d long been attracted to boxing. She pulled a piece of paper from her backpack. On the familiar Oakwood High School Club Sign-up Sheet was the phrase: BOXING CLUB TRYOUT (选拔). That was what Kelly really wanted to do. She knew her mom had high expectations for her when it came to ballet. Tired of trying to keep with her sister, Kelly was ready to carve (开辟) her own path. The next day, she gathered her courage and told Serena about her new passion. At first, Serena didn’t understand and thought she was just joking. But when she saw Kelly was serious, she replied, “You know Mom wants you to be a ballet dancer, right? Besides, boxing is only for boys, and you’re so good at ballet. Lean into your strength, Kelly.” “But this is where I want to put my strength,” Kelly insisted, “and what exactly does ‘only for boys’ mean, anyway? Boxing is a sport for everyone!” Gradually, touched by her determination and passion, Serena began to understand and support her. Kelly could feel it. Her sister was going to respect her decision, no matter what. But that was nothing compared to the preparations for the tryout, where she was required to show her footwork (步法) and punching (击打) abilities with other candidates (候选人). Boxing didn’t come natural to Kelly, but she had made úp her mind to stick with her choice. Para l: Then Kelly began her training for the tryout, keeping it a secret from her mom. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Para 2: The following Monday, results of the boxing tryout were posted. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Para l: Then Kelly began her training, keeping it a secret from her mom. Every day after school, Kelly dashed to the boxing gym, occupying herself with the intense training. Even when she was made fun of by boys in the gym, she bit her lip tightly and continued her training. Finally, the tryout came. Extremely nervous though, she stepped into the boxing ring, moved fast and punched hard to the surprise of other candidates. After the tryout, Kelly left the gym confidently, knowing she did her best. Para 2: The following Monday, results of the boxing tryout were posted. To her delight, Kelly found her name on the list. At dinner that day, Kelly gathered her courage and said to her mom, “I'm sorry, Mom. I've made the boxing team and I'm ready to carve my own path.” At first, a flicker of disbelief and shock crossed her mom's face, but after a long, heart-to-heart talk, she gave Kelly a bear hug and whispered softly, “I'm so proud of you for being yourself. 急速去:dash to/rush to ②.嘲笑:make fun of/laugh at ③.感到骄傲:be proud of/take a pride in 情绪类 ①. B Kate Townshend looks beyond the pages of her favourite books, sharing what she has learned from the women whose voices we don’t hear but whose presence is felt deeply. C A recent survey found children would rather be online influencers (网红) than astronauts. D A surprising analysis of 15 studies reveals that patients perceive more warmth in AI-generated medical responses than in those from human doctors. A. Supportive. B. Doubtful. C. Critical. D. Objective. The Power of Peers Do birds of a feather really flock together? F. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
