How to get over difficulty
In our daily life, we often meet different kinds of difficulties. But how can we get over them? Here is one of my unusual experiences.
When I was in Grade 7, I didn’t do well in my lessons first. Exams always brought me sadness. As a result, I was afraid of study and I became very lonely. Then, I decided to ask my teachers for help. Luckily, they gave me some useful advice. They told me not to give up easily because nothing is impossible if we put our heart into it. I was deeply moved by their words and worked harder than before. Finally, I improved myself a lot.
From this experience, I understand that I should learn to get over difficulty by myself with my confidence and my hard work.

Something that I learnt from both my parents was the importance of having respect for other people. I remember one day when we were travelling on a bus and I sat down while other people were standing. My mother shouted angrily at me “ 41 immediately! You have young legs and you don’t need to sit down.” At the time I felt embarrassed about being told off 42 but now I understand. I think children nowadays have 43 that respect and it makes me angry if I see children sitting down while 44 people are standing.
One area in which we had a lot of rules was table 45 . For example, we weren’t allowed to start our meal until the oldest person had started. We had to say “thank you” when our food was 46 , and eat everything on our plates before we could leave the table. We couldn’t make any noise when eating. Worse than that, we were only allowed to have sweets at the weekend, as a special 47 if we had been good.
Although my upbringing (养育) was perhaps a bit 48 compared with modern children, I’m very thankful to my parents for giving me a clear 49 in life. Even though I was sometimes 50 , I think it has made me a better person. In my view, children need clear rules, but more than that they need to learn how to get on with other people and realize they are not the center of the world.

The 2026 Spring Festival Gala (春晚) was the most-watched show on Chinese New Year’s Eve. For many Chinese families, watching the Gala together is a beloved tradition. In 2026, technology played a big part in making the show special.
The first amazing part was humanoid robots. These robots were controlled by advanced machines and computer programs. At the Gala, robots from companies like Unitree Robotics and Noetic performed martial arts (武术) with real martial artists. They did difficult Kung Fu moves, including backflips (后空翻). Their actions were strong and fast, showing great skills and balance.
The second technology was AI visual effects (视觉效果). AI can make moving pictures that match live performances. In the dance Ode to the Flower Deities, when the poet Lu You gave a small stick with flowers to a child, flowers started to bloom (开花) right away. Soon, the whole stage was full of flowers. AI made sure the flowers appeared at the perfect time to match the dancers. Another example was the famous painting Six Steeds. The six horses in the painting seemed to run and jump on the screen, turning a still picture into a lively scene.
The third technology was digital humans. In a dance by Liu Haocun, special video technology made many digital copies of her on stage. Even though she was dancing alone, it looked like many copies of her were performing at once. One turned beautifully, another jumped, and others moved in different ways, making the dance more interesting.
With robots, AI visuals, and digital humans, the 2026 Gala showed that tradition and new ideas can work well together. It also showed how much technology has improved in recent years.
59.What can we learn about humanoid robots?
A.They failed to keep balance when doing backflips.
B.They were controlled by human beings directly on the stage.
C.They were designed to replace real martial artists in performances.
D.They could perform difficult Kung Fu moves with real martial artists.
60.Why are Ode to the Flower Deities and Six Steeds mentioned?
A.To compare different dance styles. B.To explain the history of Chinese art.
C.To show how AI makes the stage more lively. D.To tell stories about Lu You and ancient paintings.
61.Which is TRUE about digital humans in the passage?
A.They couldn’t move in different ways.
B.They were more popular than the robots.
C.They were many copies of a person on stage.
D.They made Liu Haocun dance with many partners.
62.What is the best title for the passage?
A.Robots Shone at the 2026 Spring Festival Gala.
B.Technology Made the 2026 Gala So Special.
C.The Most-Watched Chinese New Year Show.
D.Tradition and New Ideas Coming Together.

60.第三段说明原因:“AI can make moving pictures that match live performances.”并以《花神颂》和《六骏图》为例,说明AI视觉效果如何使舞台更加生动,花朵适时绽放,画中的马仿佛在屏幕上奔跑跳跃。
61.第四段定义:“In a dance by Liu Haocun, special video technology made many digital copies of her on stage.”,说明数字人是舞台上一个人的许多数字副本,它们可以以不同的方式移动,使舞蹈更加有趣。
62.最后一段总结:“With robots, AI visuals, and digital humans, the 2026 Gala showed that tradition and new ideas can work well together. It also showed how much technology has improved in recent years.”,说明文章的最佳标题是“科技让2026年春晚如此特别”,因为这个标题最能概括文章的主旨,即科技在春晚中的应用和效果。

60.Why are Ode to the Flower Deities and Six Steeds mentioned?

A.They couldn’t move in different ways.

B.Technology Made the 2026 Gala So Special.
C.The Most-Watched Chinese New Year Show.
D.Tradition and New Ideas Coming Together.

Bruce is a father of three daughters. One night, while he was enjoying dinner with his girls, Bruce saw some smoke. He started looking around. Then he found the smoke was coming out of the kitchen.
