A few weeks ago, a terrible wildfire burned many places in our city. IT destroyed over sixteen thousand buildings, including many schools and houses. Sadly, my family lost our home, and I lost my beloved book collection that I had spent years building. I felt as if a part of me was gone, and I was heartbroken. Then I started to think about other kids who had gone through the same thing. How sad they must be. That's when I decided to take action. I started a project called reading among ruins. In just the first month, we gave away over one thousand books to Young fire victims. I still remember my friend ashes face lighting up when he received books from his favorite author, Stuart gibs. His smile made all the hard work worthwhile. Now i'm asking for your help if you have extra books on your shells that you no longer read, please donne them. Let's work together and make a real difference. Hi everyone, i'm rohn. A few weeks ago, a terrible wildfire burned many places in our city. 一、试题分析
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Kenzie walked home from the bus stop. She really missed her best friend Holly, who was at home recovering from a serious illness and was going to stay home from school for the next two weeks!
“When my mom was in the hospital after my baby brother Nathan was born, people brought her gifts,” thought Kenzie.“I should bring a gift to Holly!” So, Kenzie planned to visit Holly after school next Friday. However, Kenzie was lost in thought. She wanted to give Holly something meaningful and special. But her family was saving money for a new car, and she knew it wasn't the time to spend a lot of money. Arriving home, Kenzie sank into the sofa. Later, while her mother prepared dinner, Kenzie told her about Holly and the gift thing, adding that she hoped to prepare something meaningful and unique. She wondered how she could do that without a lot of money.
“I know you can do it. You' re creative,” encouraged Mom.“You don't need to spend a lot of money to show your care.” Kenzie nodded thoughtfully, her mind racing to find a possible solution.
The next Monday, Kenzie and her brother Nathan had dentist appointments. They opened their goody bags(小礼品袋) from their considerate dentist on the way home. Inside were the usual toothbrush and toothpaste along with a few other lovely and surprising things including super cute photos of their first dental experience, hand-made toys and cards. Nathan said it was fun to find these little surprises. Suddenly, she realized Nathan had just given her an idea for Holly's gift. She would make little things that would be special and meaningful to Holly. Over the next few days, she thought hard about her plan.
Paragraph 1 Kenzie thought to herself,“What surprises should be in my goody bag for Holly?”
Paragraph 2 On that Friday, Kenzie visited Holly with her gift.
参考范文
Kenzie thought to herself, “What surprises should be in my goody bag for Holly?” She decided to fill it with warm, handmade gifts full of love. First, she drew a delicate get-well card decorated with lovely hearts and bright sunflowers. On it, she wrote down their sweet and unforgettable school memories together, promising that she would visit every day after school. Then she made colorful paper flowers and placed a few of her favorite candies inside. She even added a tiny handmade pillow. She packed everything carefully into a beautifully decorated bag, imagining Holly’s bright smile.
On that Friday, Kenzie visited Holly with her special gift. When Holly opened the bag, her eyes lit up with surprise and deep joy. She hugged Kenzie tightly, saying it was the most thoughtful gift she had ever received. Warm tears ran down their cheeks. They both truly understood that the most valuable gift is not expensive ones, but the sincere care and deep friendship from a beloved best friend.

B 篇【答案】24.C 25.D 26.D 27.C
【解析】

【25题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段内容,作者指出英国的礼貌是一种“表演”,并非友谊的邀请(“not an invitation to friendship”),并且英国人像保护堡垒一样保护自己的隐私(“protect their privacy like a fortress”)。由此可以推断,英国人虽然礼貌,但会保持私人距离。故选 D 项。
【26题详解】
推理判断题。根据第四段第一句 “The systems here work — slowly, but they work.”(这里的系统运作——虽然慢,但确实在运作。)
通读全文,作者虽然指出了英国天气阴沉、礼貌疏离、办事缓慢等现实问题,但在最后两段明确表达了自己的态度:“you start appreciating its quiet rhythms”(你开始欣赏它安静的节奏),“Living in the UK won’t hand you a fairytale. But it will teach you patience and strength.”(生活在英国不会给你一个童话,但它会教会你耐心和力量。)以及“building a stronger version of yourself within an imperfect one”(在一个不完美的地方塑造一个更强大的自己)。

根据第四段“The secret to their success lies in local adaptation. In Barcelona, ChaPanda’s matcha brown sugar pearl milk tea became popular, while in Kuala Lumpur, the rich milky-flavored tea suits local preferences. “It’s about honoring local tastes while keeping our Chinese soul,” said Wang Huan, head of ChaPanda’s global operations.

M: Hi, everyone. I’m Rohan. ⑰A few weeks ago, a terrible wildfire burned many places in our city. It destroyed over 16,000 buildings, including many schools and houses. ⑰Sadly, my family lost our home, and I lost my beloved book collection that I had spent years building. I felt as if a part of me was gone, and I was heartbroken. ⑱Then I started to think about other kids who had gone through the same thing. How sad they must be! That’s when I decided to take action. I started a project called “Reading Among Ruins”. In just the first month, we gave away over 1,000 books to young fire victims. ⑲I still remember my friend Asher’s face lighting up when he received books from his favorite author, Stuart Gibbs. His smile made all the hard work worthwhile. ⑳Now, I’m asking for your help. If you have extra books on your shelves that you no longer read, please donate them. Let’s work together and make a real difference.

Moving to the United Kingdom is rarely what the movies show. Red telephone boxes and gentlemen in long coats sound romantic — until you go through the reality. After spending over a year here, I’ve found that living in Britain is a slow but deeply inspiring experience.
The first thing that confirms itself to you is the weather. A continuous light rain keeps you company for weeks. The sky never quite clears, and darkness falls by mid-afternoon in winter. Residents don’t bother with umbrellas; they wear waterproof jackets and simply carry on.
Then there’s the famous British politeness. People say “sorry” if you bump into them and thank the bus driver. But this warmth is a performance of good manners, not an invitation to friendship. You can chat with a neighbour for twenty minutes and still never learn their name. The British protect their privacy like a fortress, and crossing that boundary feels rude.
The systems here work — slowly, but they work. The NHS(英国国家医疗服务体系) provides convenient access to healthcare, though getting an appointment can take weeks. Bank accounts, tax numbers, and housing permits all require patience. As one friend put it, “Everything in Britain requires a queue — even getting sick.”
But over time, you start appreciating its quiet rhythms. You learn to enjoy walks by yourself along the landscape, to find comfort in a proper cup of tea, and to value small moments of genuine warmth.
Living in the UK won’t hand you a fairytale. But it will teach you patience and strength. And perhaps that’s the real benefit of life abroad — not discovering a perfect place, but building a stronger version of yourself within an imperfect one.
24. What do British residents typically do in the rain?
A. They always carry an umbrella. B. They stay indoors all day long.
C. They wear waterproof clothing. D. They complain about the weather.
25. What can be inferred about British politeness?
A. Neighbours are invited home often. B. Close friendships form very quickly.
C. Politeness shows deep friendship. D. People keep a private distance.
26. The author mentions the British National Health Service (NHS) mainly to ______.
A. Praise its excellent medical services B. Criticize its slow appointment system
C. Suggest using private healthcare instead D. Prove that systems work despite delays
27. Which of the following best describes the author's attitude toward living in the UK?
A. Disappointed and regretful. B. Angry and critical
C. Positive and appreciative. D. Indifferent and unconcerned.
C
In an exhibition hall in Chengdu, southwest China, Gregory Cattin, a Frenchman with lots of experience in
the beverage (饮料) industry, tasted a cup of oolong (乌龙茶), his expression showing delight.
“This is not just tea; it’s an innovation(创新),” he said. Cattin has been in the global markets for 30 years. Now, he is one of many international buyers attracted by Chinese tea culture. He came to Chengdu for the 112th China Food and Drinks Fair. He said, “I came to seek out good brands and products, hoping to establish partnerships.”
Cattin’s journey reflects a broader change. As Chinese chains expand globally, like ChaPanda in Melbourne and Barcelona, and HEYTEA in London and New York, they’re not just selling drinks—they’re reshaping global beverage market. ChaPanda has sold over 140,000 cups of its popular drink “Yangzhiganlu” (mango pomelo sago) overseas. Some tea stores in the North American market can make as much as 7,000 U. S. dollars a day.
The secret to their success lies in local adaptation. In Barcelona, ChaPanda’s matcha brown sugar pearl milk tea becomes popular, while in Kuala Lumpur, the rich milky-flavored tea suits local preferences. “It’s about honoring local tastes while keeping our Chinese soul,” said Wang Huan, head of ChaPanda’s global operations.
The creativity goes beyond taste. HEYTEA’s New York Lab decorates the store with bamboos, making it a cultural place. Special-release drinks with Peking opera or ancient Chinese legend designs turn each order into a
storytelling time.
As Cattin tried to make deals to bring these teas to Europe, he said, “China didn’t just invent tea; they’ve reimagined it for the world.” The global new-style tea market is growing fast, and Chinese tea culture is becoming more and more popular around the world.
28.Why did Gregory Cattin come to Chengdu?
A. To find good tea brands and products.
B. To visit famous tea markets in Sichuan.
C. To experience the history of Chinese tea.
D. To participate in a tea-making competition.
29. How does the author prove the success of Chinese tea chains overseas in Paragraph 3?
A. By quoting Cattin. B. By providing data.
C. By giving a definition. D. By making comparisons.
30. What makes Chinese tea chains successful overseas?
A. Diversifying tea flavors abroad.
B. Opening more branches abroad.
C. Offering lower prices compared to local competitors.
D. Combining Chinese tradition with local preferences.
31. What is the best title for the passage?
A. Local Adaptation of Chinese Tea B. The Global Spread of Chinese Tea
C. A Frenchman’s Tea Journey in Chengdu D. The Charm of Traditional Chinese Tea Culture
D
Today, friendships can develop between people from different countries or even different time zones. Social media and online platforms help people stay connected, no matter where they are. However, this convenience also has downsides. Traditional friendships usually grow from spending time together in person, having deep talks, or sharing important experiences. But nowadays online friendships often depend on short messages, funny pictures (like memes), or quick comments, which don’t create the same strong bond.
When we chat online, we miss important emotional signals such as tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language. Psychologist Albert Mehrabian found that these nonverbal signals make up about 70% of a conversation’s emotional meaning. While emojis (表情符号) and GIFs help fill the gaps, they’re not enough. Dr. Susan Pinker, a researcher, says that digital friendships can feel shallow because people tend to focus on information sharing rather than the expression of true feelings.
Meeting friends in person actually makes our brains release dopamine (多巴胺), a chemical that makes us feel happy. Studies show that people who see their friends’ social media posts get 50% less dopamine than those who meet face-to-face. That’s why online interactions can leave us feeling more tired than satisfied.
But we don’t have to give up online friendships entirely — we can make them more meaningful. One idea is using virtual characters that imitate(模仿) real-life gestures and expressions. Another trend is “Screen-free Saturdays”, where people take a break from digital devices to focus on real-world connections. Some friendships, like those among online games, even combine both online and offline interactions — they play games together virtually and also meet in person when possible.
32. How are online friendships different from traditional ones?
A. Online friendships have deeper emotional connections.
B. Traditional friendships can better connect people globally.
C. Online friendships are based on relatively surface-level communications.
D. Traditional friendships don’t include as much fun as online friendships.
33. What does the phrase “the gaps” underlined in paragraph 2 refer to?
A. Lack of knowledge about digital platforms.
B. Missing emotional signals of emojis and GIFs.
C. Lack of response time during communication.
D. Missing emotional depth in digital conversations.
34. Why do people feel more tired than satisfied after online interactions?
A. Because online interactions produce less joy-bringing dopamine.
B. Because online interactions require more energy and brain work.
C. Because people don’t share true feelings in online interactions.
D. Because people never take breaks from digital devices when interacting online.
35. What is the last paragraph mainly about?
A. The effect of face-to-face meeting on friendships.
B. Ways to improve the quality of online friendships.
C The decline of traditional friendships in the digital age.
D. Ways to strengthen traditional friendships in the digital age.

While AI tools can be helpful in our personal and professional lives, they can also be used against us.
36 Here are four specific tips for you to protect yourself against scams (诈骗) in general.
Don’t trust the voice easily. AI-cloned voice scams are on the rise. Family emergency scams involve calling a target, creating an extreme sense of urgency by pretending to be a loved one in distress, and asking for money to get them out of a bad situation. 37 If someone calls claiming to be in trouble, ask for the code word and then hang up and call their real number back to check.
Learn to reduce your digital footprint. Leaving your social media profiles public makes it easier for scammers to get a better picture of who you are, and they can use that against you. 38
Carefully check the web address. AI can be used by scammers to make fake (假的) websites that seem real. Scammers have also been reported to use AI-powered chatbots in these websites in an effort to urge people to click on illegal links. 39 Make sure that you’re on a trusted site which normally starts with https: //.
40 AI tools have been used to create photos or videos of famous people to trick you into spending money. When it comes to creating photos, AI generators can struggle with creating realistic hands, teeth and accessories like glasses and jewelry. They often lack subtle body movements that real people make.

Later, while her mother prepared dinner, Kenzie told her about Holly and the gift, adding that she hoped to prepare something meaningful and unique.

Moving to the United Kingdom is rarely what the movies show.Red telephone boxes and gentlemen in long
coats sound romantic-until you go through the reality. After spending over a year here,I've found that living
in Britain is a slow but deeply inspiring experience.
The first thing that confirms itself to you is the weather.A continuous light rain keeps you company for
weeks. The sky never quite clears, and darkness falls by mid-afternoon in winter.Residents don't bother with
umbrellas;they wear waterproof jackets and simply carry on.
Then there's the famous British politeness.People say "sony"if you bump into them and thank the bus
driver. But this warmth is a performance of good manners, not an invitation to friendship. You can chat with a
neighbour for twenty minutes and still never leamn their name. The British protect their privacy like a fortress,
and crossing that boundary feels rude.
The systems here work一slowly, but they work. The NHS(英国国家医疗服务体系)provides convenient
access to healthcare, though getting an appointment can take weeks.Bank accounts, tax numbers, and housing
permits all require patience. As one friend put it,"Everything in Britain requires a queue-even getting sick."
But over time, you start appreciating its quiet rhythms. You learn to enjoy walks by yourself along the
landscape,to find comfort in a proper cup of tea,and to value small moments of genuine warmth.
Living in the UK won't hand you a fairytale. But it will teach you patience and strength. And perhaps that's
2026年春高一期中质量监测第3页(共8页)
the real benefit of life abroad-not discovering a perfect place, but building a stronger version of yourself
within an imperfect one.
24.What do British residents typically do in the rain?
A.They always carry an umbrella.
B.They stay indoors all day long
C.They wear waterproof clothing
D.They complain about the weather.
25.What can be inferred about British politeness?
A.Neighbours are invited home often.
B.Close friendships form very quickly.
C.Politeness shows deep friendship.
D.People keep a private distance.
26.The author mentions the British National Health Service (NHS)mainly to
A.Praise its excellent medical services
B.Criticize its slow appointment system
C.Suggest using private healthcare instead
D.Prove that systems work despite delays
27.Which of the following best describes the author's attitude toward living in the UK?
A.Disappointed and regretful.
B.Angry and critical
C.Positive and appreciative.
D.Indifferent and unconcerned.

tea becomes popular, while in Kuala Lumpur, the rich milky-flavored tea suits local preferences."It's about
honoring local tastes while keeping our Chinese soul,"said Wang Huan, head of ChaPanda's global operations.
The creativity goes beyond taste.HEYTEA's New York Lab decorates the store with bamboos, making it a
cultural place.Special-release drinks with Peking opera or ancient Chinese legend designs turn each order into a
storytelling time.
As Cattin tried to make deals to bring these teas to Europe,he said,"China didn't just invent tea;they've
reimagined it for the world."The global new-style tea market is growing fast, and Chinese tea culture is

Kenzie walked home from the bus stop. She really missed her best fiiend Holly, who was at home recovering
from a serious illness and was going to stay home from school for the next two weeks!
"When my mom was in the hospital after my baby brother Nathan was born, people brought her gifts,"
thought Kenzie.'I should bring a gift to Holly!"So,Kenzie planned to visit Holly after school next Friday.
However,Kenzie was lost in thought. She wanted to give Holly something meaningful and special. But her
family was saving money for a new car,and she knew it wasn't the time to spend a lot of money.Arriving home,
Kenzie sank into the sofa.Later, while her mother prepared dinner,Kenzie told her about Holly and the gift,
adding that she hoped to prepare something meaningful and unique. She wondered how she could do that without
a lot of money.
"I know you can do it.You're creative,"encouraged Mom."You don't need to spend a lot of money to show
your care."Kenzie nodded thoughtfully, her mind racing to find a possible solution.
The next Monday,Kenzie and her brother Nathan had dentist appointments. They opened their goody
bags()from their considerate dentist on the way home.Inside were the usual toothbrush and toothpaste
along with a few other lovely and surprising things including super cute photos of their first dental experience,
hand-made toys and cards.Nathan said it was fun to find these little surprises.Suddenly, she realized Nathan had
