Look and share
1. What Chinese cultural elements can you see in the photo?
2. Do you think the girl in the photo likes to learn about Chinese culture? How do you know?
1. What Chinese cultural elements can you see in the photo?
From the photo, I can see several Chinese cultural elements:
The large Chinese characters “平安” (píng ān), which mean “peace and safety”.
The Chinese character “福” (fú), which means “good fortune or blessing”.
The big red paper cut with traditional Chinese patterns and the “平安” characters on it, which looks like a traditional New Year decoration.
The word “中文” (zhōng wén, meaning “Chinese language”) in the background, and the theme “International Chinese Language Day”.
2. Do you think the girl in the photo likes to learn about Chinese culture? How do you know?
Yes, I think she does. She is holding a beautiful red Chinese-style decoration with “平安” written on it, and she has a big smile on her face, which shows she is happy and interested in Chinese culture.
Yes, I believe she is interested in learning about Chinese culture. The way she is holding the red paper cutout with Chinese characters, and her bright, happy eyes show that she is enjoying the activity. The background also mentions the International Chinese Language Day, so she is probably taking part in an event about Chinese culture, which means she wants to learn more about it.
We all love our Chinese culture. And we should also learn about different cultures in the world. For example, people greet in different ways in different countries.
Now watch this short video and find out how they greet.
