Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Do you like hot-air balloons? Then you should go to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta in New Mexico. Fiesta is a Spanish word for festival. The balloon festival lasts for nine days and has around 750 hot-air balloons. They are beautiful to see flying in the sky! It is expected to attract close to a million visitors. The people throw tomatoes at each other for the whole day and they don’t get angry, but the only rule is that the tomato must be flattened (捏扁) in the hand first, before being thrown. B It was a dream come true to study at one of the oldest and best universities in the world. I enjoyed living and studying in Oxford which is little old town with rich history and beautiful buildings. The studying pace was very fast and demanding. However, there was still enough room to have fun with friends from my cohort (同伴). I really enjoyed the social life and being surrounded by like-minded people from all around the world. I was surprised by how diverse the student body was when I arrived in Oxford. It is a melting pot (熔炉) of extremely smart and talented people from different cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. Another shock I experienced was the obvious divide between students and locals. Oxford is after all not just a university but also a town inhabited (居住于) by locals. Although we all share the same space, there is almost no interaction between the students and the locals. During my studies, I could not work because there simply wasn’t enough time to balance a demanding academic program and a job. Luckily I was on a scholarship that covered all of my costs so I didn’t have to worry about it. At the end of my master’s program, I interned (实习) at the Open Society Foundations. I come from a low-income family in Croatia, and as a young person, I never thought I would be able to visit places like the UK, let alone study at a world-famous and expensive university like Oxford. Later I realized that there are actually many scholarships and programs that help students like me gain access to higher education. I would recommend young students from disadvantaged backgrounds to think big and not give up on their dreams. The doors will open for those who are determined and positive. 24. What did the author like in Oxford? A. The social life and his cohort’s company. B. The fast and demanding studying pace. C. The old and beautiful buildings. D. The local cultural history. 25. Why was the author surprised on arrival in Oxford? A. The beautiful town. B. Friendly local people. C. Smart and talented people. D. Students from different backgrounds. 26. How did the author pay the costs in Oxford? A. With the help of the Open Society Foundations. B. With the support of a scholarship. C. By attending some programs. D. By doing part-time jobs. 27. What does the author tell the young students? A. They should study in famous universities. B. Scholarships will make them excellent. C. They should try hard to realize their dreams. D. Students from low-income families are not bad. C Many educators have been teaching themselves how to use AI. For Jerome Ong, a 5th grade teacher in Ridgewood, New Jersey, AI has changed the way he approaches teaching. He now uses AI tools every week in his classroom. “You have to find what works for your students,” he said. Ong not only teaches his students what AI is, but also where it falls short. “If you keep at it and say, ‘No, you’re wrong, you’re wrong,’ eventually AI will say, ‘I’m sorry, I was wrong.’ Doing that with your class can show you that AI isn’t really as smart as you think it is,” Ong said. This summer, Microsoft, Open AI and Anthropic announced a first-of-its-kind plan to train hundreds of thousands of members of the American Federation of Teachers. “I think if we’re going to make AI work for students and kids, we need to listen to teachers,” said Microsoft president Brad Smith. The $23 million investment will go toward virtual and in-person training in New York City. “The direct connection between a teacher and their kids can never be replaced by new technologies, but if we learn how to use them, set practical guidelines and put teachers in the driver’s seat, teaching and learning can be better,” said AFT President Randi Weingarten. However, critics cite cheating concerns and Microsoft’s own research, which showed a self-reported reduction in critical thinking skills when AI was not used responsibly. AFT member Lois Weiner thinks teachers would be better served by more support within schools than by a partnership with Silicon Valley. “There is so much boredom in the job, but the answer to that is to improve teachers’ working conditions,” said Weiner, adding that AI does not achieve better work conditions for teachers. Smith argued education should be left to teachers: “Those of us in the tech field need to provide the tools and help school boards, districts, and teachers so they decide how to put those tools into practice.” 28. What do the underlined words “falls short” in paragraph 1 mean? A. Is wrong. B. Has limitations. C. Is not enough. D. Fails to work. 29. What is the main idea of paragraph 2? A. Teachers are urged to listen to students. B. Microsoft will invest $23 million in NYC. C. Tech companies plan to train teachers. D. Three firms aim to promote AI in schools. 30. What can be inferred from Lois Weiner’s comments? A. AI can help reduce teachers’ boredom. B. Partnership with tech firms benefits teachers. C. Teachers are smarter than AI. D. Teachers need more support within schools. 31. What is Brad Smith’s attitude towards AI in education? A. Supportive. B. Critical. C. Doubtful. D. Neutral. D As a writing teacher, I am used to reading and responding to difficult texts. In fact, I like dealing with texts that have interesting ideas, because I understand their value. I have learned through my years of education that what eventually appeals to me is not just grammatically-perfect, smooth writing, but writing that forces me to think beyond the page. It is writing where the writer has challenged himself or herself and then offered that challenge to the reader. You will often come across critical thinking and analysis as requirements for tasks in writing and upper-level courses across different subjects. Instructors have different explanations of what they actually require from you, but, in general, they expect you to respond thoughtfully to the texts you read. The first thing you should remember is not to be afraid of critical thinking. It does not mean that you have to criticize the text, oppose its basic idea, or attack the writer simply because you feel you have to. Criticism is the process of responding to and judging ideas, arguments, and style so that readers understand how and why you value them. Critical thinking is also a process that is key to all subjects. While in this passage I refer mainly to critical thinking in writing, the general principles behind critical thinking are very similar in other fields. In history, for instance, it could mean examining and analyzing primary sources to understand the background in which they were written. In the hard sciences, it usually involves making judgments and decisions rationally (理性地), and solving problems. While critical thinking may be subject-specific, most of its general principles such as thinking rationally, making independent judgments, and having a healthy doubt about what is being read, are common to all subjects. No matter the area of study, using critical thinking skills leads to clear, flexible thinking and a better understanding of the subject at hand. 32. Why does the author prefer certain texts? A. They are error-free in grammar. B. They present exciting viewpoints. C. They make readers reflective. D. They read smoothly and easily. 33. What is critical thinking according to the author? A. Challenging the author’s viewpoint. B. Considering and assessing thoughts. C. Rejecting the text’s main argument. D. Finding fault with the writing. 34. How does the author explain that critical thinking matters across all subjects? A. By referring to different areas of study. B. By describing what it means in history. C. By explaining its role in science. D. By drawing comparisons between fields. 35. What might be discussed in the follow-up text? A. Types of critical thinking. B. Uses of deep thinking. C. Benefits of critical thinking. D. Methods of thinking critically. Ways to Put Down Your Smartphone For most people, when they wake up in the morning, the first thing to come to their mind is to find their smartphone. 36 . As a freshman at Westwood High, I felt lost until I met Mia. We became friends right away — sharing lunch tables, laughing through boring classes, and walking home together every day. “You’re like the sister I never had,” Mia said one afternoon, smiling as we sat under our favorite big tree. I nodded, feeling happy. For a month, we told each other everything—dreams, worries. Life felt perfect. Problems came when my diary disappeared. I’d left it on my desk during gym class, and when I came back, it was gone. I was worried — my deepest secrets were inside. Later, I saw Mia talking quietly with Sarah, the girl who always gave me mean looks. Mia looked at me, then quickly looked away. “Did you see my diary?” I asked, my voice shaking. Mia’s eyes got big. “No, I … I haven’t seen it.” But her hands shook as she spoke. I felt a bad feeling in my stomach. Sarah smiled in a mean way, and I knew — Mia had taken it. I stayed away from Mia completely. At lunch, I sat alone, staring at my sandwich. When she tried to talk to me, I turned my back. “What’s wrong?” she asked, her voice breaking. “Just leave me alone,” I said angrily. Mia’s face looked sad, and she ran off. Days turned into weeks. I missed her laugh, her advice, the way she could always make me smile. But I was too proud to say sorry. One rainy afternoon, I saw Mia sitting under our big tree, tears mixing with raindrops. My chest hurt, but I walked past her. Something lucky happened when I stayed late to finish a project. As I walked past the library, I heard a voice I knew. “I can’t believe you took her diary!” It was Sarah, shouting at a boy named Jake. Paragraph 1: “I just wanted to see what she wrote about me,” Jake said quietly. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: The next day, I went to find Mia under our tree. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 高一英语 第 1 页 共 6 页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 高一英语参考答案及解析 第一部分 听力 1~5 CBABB 6~10 BCBAA 11~15 BBACC 16~20 CAACA 第二部分 阅读 第一节 A 这是一篇说明文,主要介绍了世界各地的四个有趣的节日,分别是阿尔伯克基国际热气球节、圣彼得堡白夜节、西班牙的西红柿节和平溪天灯节。 21. 故选A。 A项“挑战作者观点”、C项“拒绝文本的主要论点”、D项“挑剔写作中的毛病”都是作者明确澄清的误解,分别对应原文中的“attack the writer”、“oppose its basic idea”和“criticize the text”。故选B。 34. 根据第三段,作者首先提出批判性思维是所有学科的关键,随后分别以历史学(examining and analyzing primary sources)和自然科学(making judgments and decisions rationally, and solving problems)为例进行具体说明。 故选A。 35. 36. G 根据空前“For most people, when they wake up in the morning, the first thing to come to their mind is to find their smartphone (对大多数人来说,早上醒来,脑海里浮现的第一件事就是找智能手机)”以及空后“Here are some quick and easy ways to handle the problem (这里有一些简单快捷的方法来解决这个问题)”可知,此空应衔接前文现象并引出下文解决办法。G选项“If it is the same to you, it is time for you to put your smartphone down (如果你也是这样,那么是时候放下你的智能手机了)”承接前文的普遍现象,且引出下文的解决策略,符合语境。故选G项。 37. B 根据空前内容可知本段建议读报纸,空后“Even the New York Times costs only $9 a week. It offers both home delivery and digital access B选项“Don’t be worried about the cost (不用担心成本问题)”引出下文关于报纸价格的内容,符合语境。故选B项。 38. D 本段小标题为“Listen to the radio (听收音机)”,空后“You will be amazed at how entertaining and helpful some radio programs still can be (你会惊讶地发现,有些广播节目仍然既有趣又有用)”介绍了听广播的好处,因此此空应是给出“打开收音机”的具体建议。D选项“Take your old radio out again and turn it on (把你的旧收音机再拿出来打开)”呼应小标题主题,且衔接下文内容,符合语境。故选D项。 39. 根据空后“However, whether dining at home or out, stick to the no-device rule. When having dinner in a restaurant with others, to make you stick to it, you can place phones in the center of the table 故选A项。 40. F 根据空前“When having dinner in a restaurant with others, to make you stick to it, you can place phones in the center of the table (和别人在餐厅吃饭时,为了坚持这个规则,你可以把手机放在桌子中央)”以及空后“Thus no one can break the rule (这样就没有人能违反规则了)”可知,此空应是补充另一个能让大家遵守“不用手机”规则的方法。F选项“You can also have a waiter put them in somewhere else (你也可以让服务员把手机放到别的地方)”中的“also”表明是补充建议,且能达到空后“没人违反规则”的效果,符合语境。 A. commented评论;B. wrote写;C. translated翻译;D. forgot忘记。根据前文“The performance was far from perfect”和后文“a line in Act 2”可知,演出出现了失误,由此判断是忘记了台词。故选D项。 51. 根据前文“but the audience’s applause felt more”和后文“than any test score”可知,与考试成绩相比,观众的掌声更加有价值和珍贵。故选C项。 52. (运用了where引导的非限制性定语从句) 第二节(满分25分) 参考范文: “I just wanted to see what she wrote about me,” Jake said quietly. I froze, my heart beating fast. My diary I rushed into the room, my face grew hot with anger. “That’s mine! You had no right to take it away!” I shouted, pulling it from Jake’s hands. Sarah’s face turned red. “I didn’t tell Mia anything,” she said in a lower voice. I held my diary tightly and ran out of the room. I felt something heavy was sitting in my stomach. Mia had been telling the truth all along. But I had blamed her for something she didn’t do, and she hadn’t even been angry with me. The next day, I went to find Mia under our tree. “I’m so sorry,” I said, my voice shaky. “I thought you took my diary, but it was Jake. I have to trust you.” Mia looked at me and her eyes were welled up with tears. “Why didn’t you just ask me?” she whispered. I sat down beside her, tears falling too. “I was stupid. You’re my best friend, Mia. I don’t want to lose you.” Mia smiled through her tears and gave me a tight hug. I understood then — true friendship isn’t about never having fights. It’s about forgiving and trusting. 词汇激活 行为类 ①冲进:rush into/dash into ②信任:trust/have faith in ③低语:whisper/murmur 情绪类 ①生气的:angry/irritated ②愚蠢的:stupid/foolish [高分句型1]But I had blamed her for something she didn’t do, and she hadn’t even been angry with me.(运用了省略了that的定语从句) [高分句型2]I froze, my heart beating fast.(运用了独立主格结构) 听力材料 Text 1 打算为同学举办生日派对 W: Does Peter know we’re having a surprise party for him when he turns 13 this week? My friends are very kind to me. We have just returned from a fantastic trip to Hong Kong. And I celebrated an important festival with my friend yesterday. M: Sounds exciting! How did you celebrate it? W: I went to my Chinese friend’s home. I tasted moon cakes and enjoyed the full moon with her family. She also told me some customs about the Spring Festival and the Dragon Boat Festival. M: I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed yourself. Are moon cakes delicious? W: Yes, they’re flavored with different tastes. I wish you and Mum were here and could try them. M: Haha … Maybe you can send us some to Toronto, dear. W: That’s a great idea! I’ve been so lucky to have worked with so many good people. I am very happy that Anne Sharp will be taking over my position. She is a very experienced professor, and I am encouraged to see she has such a passion for this important job. I’d also like to congratulate her for getting married. Anne, I wish you a long and happy life, and I hope you enjoy your honeymoon in France. Finally, I’d like to thank Craig Anderson. It was he who had convinced me to work here, otherwise I would have become a lawyer. So what will I do with myself now? As you know, I’m interested in language learning. Many educators have been teaching themselves how to use AI.For Jerome Ong,a 5th grade teacher in Ridgewood,New Jersey,AI has changed the way he approaches teaching. He now uses AI tools every week in his classroom."You have to find what works for your students,"he said. Ong not only teaches his students what al is,but also where it falls short."If you keep at it and say,No,you're wrong, you're wrong,'eventually AI will say,I'm sory,I was wrong.'Doing that with your class can show you that AI isn't really as smart as you think it is,"Ong said. This summer,Microsoft,Open AI and Anthropic announced a first-of-its-kind plan to train hundreds of thousands of members of the American Federation of Teachers."I think if we're going to make aI work for students and kids,we need to listen to teachers,"said Microsoft president Brad Smith. The $23 million investment will go toward virtual and in-person training in New York City. "The direct connection between a teacher and their kids can never be replaced by new technologies, but if we learn how to use them, set practical guidelines and put teachers in the driver's seat, teaching and learning can be better,"saidAFT President Randi Weingarten. However, critics cite cheating concerns and Microsoft's own research, which showed a self-reported reduction in critical thinking skills when AI was not used responsibly.AFT member Lois Weiner thinks teachers would be better served by more support within schools than by a partnership with Silicon Valley."There is so much boredom in the job,but the answer to that is to improve teachers'working conditions,"said Weiner, adding that AI does not achieve better work conditions for teachers. Smith argued education should be left to teachers:"Those of us in the tech field need to provide the tools and help school boards, districts, and teachers so they decide how to put those tools into practice.” 28.What do the underlined words "falls short"in paragraph 1 mean? D As a writing teacher,I am used to reading and responding to difficult texts. In fact,I like dealing with texts that have interesting ideas, because I understand their value.I have learned through my years of education that what eventually appeals to me is not just grammatically-perfect,smooth writing, but writing that forces me to think beyond the page.It is writing where the writer has challenged himself or herself and then offered that challenge to the reader. You will often come across critical thinking and analysis as requirements for tasks in writing and upper-level courses across different subjects.Instructors have different explanations of what they actually require from you, but,in general, they expect you to respond thoughtfully to the texts you read. The first thing you should remember is not to be afraid of critical thinking. It does not mean that you have to criticize the text, oppose its basic idea,or attack the writer simply because you feel you have to.Criticism is the process of responding to and judging ideas, arguments, and style so that readers understand how and why you value them Critical thinking is also a process that is key to all subjects. While in this passage I refer mainly to critical thinking in writing, the general principles behind critical thinking are very similar in other fields. In history, for instance,it could mean examining and analyzing primary sources to understand the background in which they were written. In the hard sciences,it usually involves making judgments and decisions rationally(理性地),and solving problems. While critical thinking may be subject-specific,most of its general principles such as thinking rationally, making independent judgments, and having a healthy doubt about what is 高一英语第 being read, are common to all subjects. No matter the area of study, using critical thinking skills leads to clear, flexible thinking and a better understanding of the subject at hand. 32.Why does the author prefer certain texts? A.Challenging the author's viewpoint. B.Considering and assessing thoughts C.Rejecting the text's main argument. D.Finding fault with the writing. 34.How does the author explain that critical thinking matters across all subjects? A.By referring to different areas of study. B.By describing what it means in history. C.By explaining its role in science. D.By drawing comparisons between fields. 35.What might be discussed in the follow-up text? A.Types of critical thinking. Here are some of them.(节日就像很多人的大聚会。 根据第一段中“However,there was still enough room to have fun with friends from my cohort ()I really enjoyed the social life and being surrounded by like-minded people from all around the world..(不过,我仍然有充足的时间和同届的朋友们一起玩乐。 故选A。 根据第二段“I was surprised by how diverse the student body was when I arrived in Oxford. It is a melting pot()of extremely smart and talented people from different cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds..(刚到牛津时,学生群体的多样性让我感 到惊讶。 根据第四段中“Luckily I was on a scholarship that covered all of my costs so Ididn't have to worry about it..(幸运的是,我获得了一份涵盖所有费用的奖学金,所以 不必为此担忧)”可知,作者在牛津大学的所有费用由奖学金承担。 根据最后一段中“I would recommend young students from disadvantaged backgrounds to think big and not give up on their dreams. The doors will open for those who are determined and positive.(我建议出身不利的年轻学生要胸怀大志,不要放弃梦想。 故选A。 A项“挑战作者观点”、C项“拒绝文本的主要论点”、D项“挑剔写作中的毛病” 都是作者明确澄清的误解,分别对应原文中的“attack the writer”、“oppose its basic idea'” 和“criticize the text”。 根据第三段,作者首先提出批判性思维是所有学科的关键,随后分别以 历史学(examining and analyzing primary sources)和自然科学(making judgments and decisions rationally, and solving problems)为例进行具体说明。 故选A。 36.G根据空前“For most people, when they wake up in the morning, the first thing to come to their mind is to find their smartphone(对大多数人来说,早上醒来,脑海里浮现的第一件事 就是找智能手机)”以及空后“Here are some quick and easy ways to handle the problem(这 里有一些简单快捷的方法来解决这个问题)”可知,此空应衔接前文现象并引出下文解决 办法。G选项“If it is the same to you,it is time for you to put your smartphone down(如果你 也是这样,那么是时候放下你的智能手机了)”承接前文的普遍现象,且引出下文的解决 策略,符合语境。故选G项。 37.B根据空前内容可知本段建议读报纸,空后“Even the New York Times costs only$9a week.It offers both home delivery and digital access(就连《纽约时报》每周也只需要9美元。 B选项“Don't be worried about the cost不用担心成本 问题)”引出下文关于报纸价格的内容,符合语境。故选B项。 38.D本段小标题为“Listen to the radio(听收音机)”,空后“You will be amazed at how entertaining and helpful some radio programs still can be(你会惊讶地发现,有些广播节目仍 然既有趣又有用)”介绍了听广播的好处,因此此空应是给出“打开收音机”的具体建议。 D选项“Take your old radio out again and turn it on(把你的旧收音机再拿出来打开)”呼应 小标题主题,且衔接下文内容,符合语境。 根据 "However, whether dining at home or out, stick to the no-device rule. When having dinner in a restaurant with others,to make you stick to it,you can place phones in the center of the table(然而,无论是在家还是外出就餐,都要遵守不用电子设备的规则。 故选A项。 40.F根据空前“When having dinner in a restaurant with others,to make you stick to it,you can place phones in the center of the table(和别人在餐厅吃饭时,为了坚持这个规则,你可 以把手机放在桌子中央)”以及空后“Thus no one can break the rule(这样就没有人能违反 规则了)”可知,此空应是补充另一个能让大家遵守“不用手机”规则的方法。F选项 “You can also have a waiter put them in somewhere else(你也可以让服务员把手机放到别 的地方)”中的“lso”表明是补充建议,且能达到空后“没人违反规则”的效果,符合语 境。
